Author's Note: I know I'm inconsistent regarding names of things, but it all comes down to what I like better. "Yamcha", "World Martial Arts Tournament", "Bulma" and "Puar" look better to my eyes, but "Tenshinhan", "Chaozu", the creation gods' titles and all attack names sound better in their original Japanese to me. As for the "Artificial Humans" translation, it fits better than "android" since "android" implies a purely mechanical being, rather than wide array of purely mechanical and cybernetic beings that the Red Ribbon Army created. So, if you find me inconsistent in regards to names, that's why; I just like one version better than the other.
"Jackals!" Peparia shouted as she slammed her hands on the table. "They're all a bunch of jackals!"
"I'm sorry you're finding out about your people this way," the Kaioshin of Time said.
"You don't understand, milady Kaioshin," Peparia said. "We set up an entire system to dominate the Beast inside us on which our society was based on. To see my people become these savage brutes, these opportunistic scoundrels…"
"My name is Chronoa," the Kaioshin of Time said. "When it's just you and me, you can use my real name, okay?"
"Fine, Chronoa," Peparia said, continuing her ranting. "To see my people first devolve into savages within a single generation of landing on their new world is ridiculous. And that's not even considering what they became under the Frieza Empire."
"For what it's worth, Universe 6's Saiyans kept on the path your people were on," Chronoa said. "They even evolved away their tails as a final means to end the threat of the Great Ape once and for all."
"But they aren't my people. They're some alternate version where Sadala wasn't destroyed by that solar event. Mine are the ones that destroyed planets for Frieza and see the Mark of Yamoshi as something worthy of awe."
Chronoa merely sighed. "I know you're angry right now, but you need to continue learning about the Saiyan's history. Of Goku, of Gohan, Goten, Vegeta and Trunks. They show that your descendants can be heroes if they try to be."
"Vegeta is the worst example of what my people became," Peparia snapped back. "His pride is a joke; to think that his actions make him a worthy 'Prince of all Saiyans' is the biggest insult to me and my son that he could make!"
"But he gets better, I promise," Chronoa said. "By the time he meets Lord Beerus…"
"Lord Beerus is a myth," Peparia said. "There is no such thing as a God of Destruction."
"Oh, he's real," Chronoa said. "He's been to the Time Nest on several occasions, as have other Destroyers and their attendants. The only reason your universe thinks he's a myth is because of how…" Chronoa stopped, trying to think of a charitable term for how Beerus acts. "Listless he is."
"Then why didn't he stop Frieza from wiping out my people? Or stop Majin Buu? Or any number of other threats that require a Destroyer's attention?" Peparia said, glaring at Chronoa.
"As I said, Lord Beerus is very hands-off in his duties. He thinks natural destroyers like Frieza and Moro are more than enough to handle his duties," Chronoa said. "The problem is that, without his oversight, they get overzealous.
However, regarding your people, he ordered Frieza to destroy them. Like you, he found them to be brutish savages who were more trouble than they were worth."
Peparia scoffed. "If I hadn't just seen what I just saw, I'd be angry at him too. But he's right; Vegeta and his peers are savages, worthy of extermination."
Chronoa sighed. "Just, look up Goku. You'll feel better about your people, I promise." She took down the scroll that carried the life of Kakarot and handed it to Peparia.
And so Peparia sighed and unrolled the scroll for the Earth raised Saiyan. She saw how he was considered low class trash by the Saiyan elite and was sent off to conquer a weak planet such as Earth. This initially angered Peparia, as it was the peak of savagery to send off a newborn to conquer a world, but she quickly calmed when she saw Kakarot being raised in a loving home. It broke her heart to see him get that head injury, but his survival and change in personality set him off on a path that was the best possible one for him.
She watched as Kakarot's Great Ape form killed his grandfather, though Kakarot never realized this until that battle she helped him with Vegeta years later. She watched as he began his adventure with the Earthling Bulma, Oolong, Yamcha and Puar as they searched for the Dragon Balls. She smiled as the Great Ape form saved their lives, though it did require having his tail removed to stop him.
She smiled once again as Kakarot began training under the great Turtle Hermit, increasing his strength and skill in the martial arts that old Gohan taught him alongside his friend Krillin. She watched as they entered the World Martial Arts Tournament and lose in the finals to his disguised master to teach him a lesson that there's always somebody stronger than you, a lesson that was drilled into the Sadalan Saiyans from birth. And then, she watched as Kakarot went off on another adventure to retrieve the 4-star Dragon Ball, the one that his grandfather left him as a momento.
This adventure put him into conflict with the Red Ribbon Army, which he destroyed after they killed his new friend Upa. From there, Kakarot fought in a tournament put on by Fortuneteller Baba to get information on where the 7th Dragon Ball was hidden, even getting a chance to face off against a temporarily revived old Gohan, granting Kakarot a sweet reunion with the old man after he took his mask off.
Peparia was moved when Kakarot used his wish to bring back Bora, Upa's father, from death, and excited to see him go off for 3 years of training for the next World Tournament. And when Kakarot returned to the Tournament, this 15-year-old boy was much stronger and ready to take on the students of the Crane Hermit. Kakarot once again lost in the finals, but that was okay, because he held on to the lesson that the Turtle Hermit taught him the previous tournament.
Unfortunately for Kakarot, his best friend Krillin was killed by the minions of the original Piccolo, forcing Kakarot to rush off in anger to get revenge. And that desire for revenge nearly killed him, forcing him to drink of the Ultra Divine Water, a concoction that would bring out new power in Kakarot should he survive this. Peparia recognized that between this magic and Kakarot's Zenkai boost, a power unique to Saiyans that allowed them to grow stronger as they healed from grave injuries, Kakarot's strength surged for the upcoming battle. And since Kakarot got close to death here, he got the full power of the Zenkai, as Saiyans became the most powerful after healing from near fatal wounds.
Peparia was proud of Kakarot as he returned to battle Piccolo, finally ending the menace once and for all. However, that Piccolo managed to send off an egg that was imprinted with his essence, allowing it to survive into the Piccolo she met. From there, Kakarot went to train under the Kami of Earth for the next three years, where he entered the next World Tournament, finally winning.
The next events were ones Peparia experienced alongside Kakarot, at least partially. Kakarot got married and had a kid, the Gohan she had met, and fought Raditz, the Saiyan she previously didn't have a name for. From there, Kakarot went off to train under the North Kaio and learned the Kaio-ken and Genki Dama, which he used in his battles with Nappa and Vegeta.
Once Kakarot recovered from his injuries, he headed to Namek to gather their Dragon Balls to revive Piccolo/Kami and the friends they couldn't revive on the Earth Dragon Balls thanks to a limit placed on them about not granting the same wish twice. It was here that Kakarot became the first Super Saiyan since Peparia, though thanks to a lack of knowledge, they thought him to be the "Legendary Super Saiyan", instead of just the first in 213 years.
Peparia watched as Kakarot made his way through the battle with the Artificial Humans and Cell, only to die to rectify a mistake he made with Gohan, as the boy, while enjoying training and adventure, didn't like to kill without cause. And in Cell, Gohan didn't find cause until his loved ones started dying around him, pushing the boy into his "power drunk state" that caused him to behave irrationally, as he had during the Vegeta battles and on Namek.
Kakarot returned to live 7 years later, and helped his friends and family against Majin Buu, and Peparia was shocked to see that he eventually interacted with the myth that was the God of Destruction for Universe 7, Lord Beerus. She was disappointed that Kakarot became a Super Saiyan God, as that was the true form of Yamoshi, the being her people had defeated when he dared call them "evil". Yes, Yamoshi had been a Super Saiyan like Peparia, Kakarot and his descendants, but his desire was to become the Super Saiyan God to stop Peparia's ancestors "once and for all."
Pepair looked over a Chronoa and smiled. "You were right," she said, smiling. "Kakarot lived a life worthy of my people. It's just too bad that it took the eradication of our people for him to achieve that."
"And you saw how he changed the lives of those around him, too," Chronoa said. "Everyone he made friends with became better people over time. From the selfish Bulma to the planet conquering Vegeta, all took what they learned from Goku and were better for it."
"And I look forward to seeing how my descendant is changed over time," Peparia said. "But right now, I'm hungry."
"I'd offer to cook, but you haven't earned it yet," Chronoa said playfully. "There's a chef in the city that can cater to a Saiyan appetite. He's got a big sign that mentions 'Saiyan appetites' on the outside. Just tell them the Kaioshin of Time sent you, and he'll take care of you."
"I appreciate that," Peparia said. "I'll return when I'm done to study my descendant, I promise."
