Peparia walked through Tokitoki city, making sure that she had everything she needed from her shopping trip. Just as Chronoa had agreed to, she had provided Peparia with an apartment and access to a gravity chamber to train in, but she had not furnished it, nor provided Peparia with any clothes. Peparia had requested this, of course, so she could furnish the place herself and get herself some clothes that would fit her sensibilities.
She'd spent hours looking for furniture to make sure her apartment felt like her home back on Sadala, with the proper level of technology she was used to. Thankfully, Trunks' mother Bulma has been brought to Tokitoki City and had restarted Capsule Corporation, her family company that was destroyed during the Artificial Human Wars of their timeline. This granted technology that Peparia at a level that Peparia was familiar with, though she had to accept that they had an Earthling look to most of it. Still, she'd be able to understand how they functioned in short order.
She spent more hours getting her some clothes. She went to a tailor, who did her measurements and got her the custom fit clothes she desired. These things included formal armor with her house symbol on it, a symbol that Peparia learned had been carried down to the Vegeta Royal family as their seal, something that both warmed Peparia's heard and irritated her. That symbol was stripped of its original context in Vegeta's hands, and they had no idea that symbol dated back as far as it did.
Peparia also commissioned a few new sets of battle armor for her to have, as one could never have too many sets of armor when you worked in a combat profession. She also requested formal wear, casual wear and weighted training clothing. And they all had to be custom made, as she was one of the few Saiyans in Tokitoki city to still have a tail, something that was lost as they intermingled with the Earthlings.
She had all these items delivered to her quarters, and she was heading home when she noticed that the heroes of the different universes were appearing in the city. Peparia knew why, of course; the younger and more inexperienced Time Patrollers needed additional training from the masters of the past, and what better master was there than a hero who helped save the Earth time and time again?
But Peparia saw one person who didn't belong in that category: the former Prince of Saiyans, Vegeta the 4th. She angrily walked over to Vegeta, who saw her and spoke up.
"You must be the promising one that Trunks was talking about," Vegeta said in his normal gruff tone. "You don't look to amateurish. I guess what he said was partly true."
"Big talk from someone using my moves," Peparia said, glaring at the former Prince.
"You're moves?! What are you talking about?" Vegeta said, his anger beginning to flare at Peparia. He didn't like this shot at his pride.
"The Gallick Gun, Big Bang Attack and Final Flash! All created by me, centuries before your birth!" Peparia shouted. "You use my moves without even knowing where they came from!"
"I created all those moves! I forged all of them through years of combat experience!" Vegeta shouted back.
"You rediscovered something that was lost when my homeworld died!" Peparia said, her aura starting to flare due to her rage. "You Plantian Saiyans lost everything we ever tried to teach you!"
"And who are you to judge us! We were forced to serve as slaves, first under the Tuffles, and then again under Frieza!" Vegeta shouted.
"It is my right as the last survivor of Sadala!" Peparia shouted back. "And YOUR ANCESTOR!"
"What? How could you be my ancestor?" Vegeta said, shocked.
"I am Peparia, descendant of Dakkon, first master of the Beast we all have within us. I followed my lineage through the last 300 years after I was pulled forward in time," Peparia said angrily. "You are the direct descendant of my son, whose name you share! And you make me sick!"
"Bold words, old woman," Vegeta said. "Care to back them up with actions?!"
"Gladly," Peparia said, heading over to the Patroller arena and messed with the settings. A large door of light came out of the ground, and Peparia and Vegeta entered it.
Inside the arena was the city Peparia grew up in. She felt the increased gravity and smiled; it was just like home, even though home was long gone.
"Where the hell are we?" Vegeta exclaimed.
"Sadala," Peparia said. "The birth world of our people. Right outside my family home, in fact."
Vegeta merely looked on with disdain, as if battling on Sadala was beneath him. He'd pay soon enough, Peparia thought, dropping into her battle stance.
Vegeta turned up his nose in disgust. "You're using my stance, huh?" He said, dropping into the stance himself.
"My stance," Peparia said, glaring at her descendant. "One that was passed through our family for hundreds of years."
They stood apart from each other, glaring heavily. Peparia had seen Vegeta fight, but Vegeta hadn't seen her fight, so in theory, this fight was in her favor. In practice, however, Vegeta was an analytical fighter, observing his opponents' moves and countering them as he could. He' d figure out her moves shortly, making the match an even one.
Peparia rushed in and clocked Vegeta right in the cheek, following it up with a left hook, then a right, then a kick upward into the air. From there, she charged up a Gallick Gun and blasted Vegeta in the back.
Vegeta recovered quickly, and came down full force, nailing Peparia in the chest. Vegeta followed with his own volley of punches and kicks before launching Peparia away from him. But instead following up with his own Gallick Gun, he rushed Peparia, continuing his assault until Peparia utilized a move that Vegeta didn't possess; the Blast Meteor. Firing Ki blasts out from her body, she managed to encircle herself and knocked Vegeta away from her.
The battle went on like this for several more minutes; one getting the advantage, pummeling their opponent, losing it, and getting pummeled in retaliation, only for them to regain the advantage and start the cycle anew. And through it all, Vegeta smiled slyly.
"So, you can match my skill," Vegeta said confidently. "But can you match my power?!" He then transformed into a Super Saiyan, something that angered at Peparia, as he still saw this form as something worthy of praise.
"Easily," Peparia said, pushing herself into her own Super Saiyan form. "But this is a form of tragedy and pain. It's not something to be proud of!"
She then rushed forward again, Punching Vegeta so hard he went flying, and she kept up the attack, following him to kick him into the air, only to sledgehammer him back to the ground. Then, Peparia charged up a Big Bang Attack and launched it, only for Vegeta to dodge it.
But then Vegeta did something she hadn't expected; he held his right hand behind his back and started charging ki. Once he gathered enough, he thrust his hand forward and shouted, "Final Shine Attack!", firing a bright green blast toward Peparia.
Peparia didn't recognize the danger of the attack at first, but as it approached, she was forced to cross her hands in front of her in a guard position. She was forced to take the attack head on due, holding on for dear life as the power threatened to overwhelm her.
But Vegeta was holding back, and eventually, he let go. And as the attack dissipated, Peparia looked down at Vegeta, smiling slightly. "So, you can create moves of your own. Good."
Vegeta smiled as well as he took to the air. "And your strength is worthy of a Saiyan." He added.
Peparia dropped out her own Super Saiyan state, knowing where the battle would head if it continued; they would both ramp up to Super Saiyan 2, but Peparia couldn't go any higher than that, having realized the problems with the next stage up. And Peparia hadn't gotten around to training for Super Saiyan 4, since that required complete mastery of the Great Ape form combined with the Super Saiyan state. However, Vegeta could use his God forms, something that Peparia had no counter for. "Very well, I'll accept you as my descendant. But I still think you're a product of the bastardization of my culture, though I would wager part of that lies in how we got people off world."
"The Saiyans are a warrior race," Vegeta said, floating down with Peparia. "If they were back in your day as well, I'd say we turned out fine."
"But you could have been so much more," Peparia said. "You could have avoided working for Frieza and made the galaxy bow to our will, not his."
"My life on Earth is far more fulfilling than anything I did under Frieza," Vegeta said. "My wife, son and daughter bring meaning to me, and I have achieved power only gods can master."
"So, I've seen," Peparia said, heading to the exit and motioning for Vegeta to do the same. "I know where your life is headed, and while I still don't approve of your actions in the past, your future is bright."
"Then I am content," Vegeta said, extending his hand in friendship to Peparia, something she hadn't expected of him.
Peparia shook his hand. "Good. Then maybe you can continue to train some of these lesser Patrollers and help them get stronger." She walked away after saying this and headed toward her home so she could set the place up.
Peparia had gained a newfound respect for Vegeta, and even thought about sparring with the other heroes that came and went from Tokitoki city. If Vegeta could earn her respect, then maybe the Earthlings could too.
Author's Note: This Vegeta is an amalgamation of Super Vegeta and GT Vegeta, much the Xeno Goku from Dragon Ball Heroes. I figure all the trainers are like that; the strongest version of themselves from all the seperate timelines combined into one person.
