"Um… Why aren't you going down to breakfast" Remus asked timidly.

Sirius snapped out of his trance and quickly tried to pull together a lie.

"I was… uh… waiting for you?" Sirius questioned more than answered.

"Oh well, you don't have to. I'm just going to refresh my memory before classes. Thanks though" Remus smiled, reaching out for a book and shaking it towards Sirius. Sirius trotted down the stairs towards the great hall, hearing the creaking on Remus' bed as he sat down.

Remus flicked through the pages of the book, not really taking anything in. He had barely noticed that it was time for class when James burst into the room looking panicked.

"REMUS!" James yelled, "WE HAVE TO GET TO CLASS!"

Remus jumped off the bed and quickly put his shoes on. He and James flew down the stairs and didn't stop running until they were just outside the potions classroom. Remus and James spotted Sirius and Peter on a table near the back. James skipped over and sat next to Sirius leaving Remus to be squashed between Peter and…

Remus' heart dropped. Remus couldn't believe this was happening. Remus took his seat next to Snape and immediately felt Snape's glare. Remus could feel the tears forming in the corners of his eyes. He quickly wiped them away before anyone could notice.

Sirius turned to ask Remus a question and saw he was wiping tears away from his face. He turned back to his cauldron. Sirius was mulling things over, all the weird things Remus has done in the past two days. The sudden change to his appearance, the nail-biting, the crying in his sleep, the shaking, the look of fear and hurt in his eyes he is always so desperately trying to cover.

Sirius looked over at Remus again, their eyes met. Remus hurriedly looked down. Sirius reached his hand over Peter to grab Remus' arm. Remus jumped out of his seat, knocking over his cauldron and spilling the burning liquid all over himself and Snape.

Professor Slughorn sighed. "Mr. Lupin please go to the hospital wing with Mr. Snape".

Remus started to walk as briskly as he could towards the door. It was difficult as his entire left side was burnt. Snape, who had barely been touched by the scalding potion, jumped to his feet and pushed past Remus.

Remus tried to limp down the hall when Snape pushed him up against the wall. Remus yelped in surprise and attempted to push Snape away. Snape spoke into Remus' ear.

"You're not going anywhere. Not now that I know your little secret."

Remus almost gasped. How did he know? He'd tried so hard to keep that a secret, especially from Snape.
