Oh hello! You're probably not used to a narration like mine. Name's Tack, and today I have to show my little sister how this works. Come and join us!
We're interdimensional beings, lesser gods, that exist primarily outside of space and time, so that means we can travel freely throughout...mostly. Younger gods like my sister can't alter or travel without the assistance of another god, that would be me now.
Tacky! Where are we going today?
Ugh. I hate it when she calls me that. Anyway, I'm not like our parents. Sure I'll want Saizy to learn how the multiverse works, but I like to have fun. The other gods call me "Trickster" but I just like to have fun! Speaking of which, I think I found the perfect universe to mess with today! Er, I mean, observe with Saizy.
Oh perhaps I should be a bit more descriptive as I talk to you. Right now, we're standing outside of space and time, scrolling through important events. But I think we'll go to a time in between those. I like to mess with mortals, I'm not cruel though. I won't have us screwing up the timeline of this universe during the really stressful times.
Who are they, Tacky?
Two friends in the past. Classmates, heroes in training. And they occasionally bounce feelings off of each other. But in the future, about 40 years, they're much closer...
What are you wanting to do?
Why don't we go down and mess with them?
But Mommy said for you not to mess with mortals today. Mommy said!
We're not messing with them! I meant we'll be helping them. Steer them in the right direction so the timeline remains the same.
Hmmm. Okay.
Perfect! Now here's what we're gonna do...
Ochako Uraraka had been out on patrol with her internship's agency in the deep city streets all day. Ryukyu, the Dragon heroine had placed upon her the responsibility of scouting out a few alleyways in the area where drug deals were reportedly made. Eagerly, she was running past each one down the sidewalk, quickly giving them a glance almost without slowing down.
Finally, she put the brakes on her raised heels and noticed a young girl in a primary school uniform cornered by two obvious thugs.
The one moment look was enough to analyze the situation. Keeping her seemingly unending desire to save the day, she bolted their way.
Both thugs noticed her coming and gasped briefly before preparing their fighting stances.
But with lightning speed, Ochako had slapped each of their sides as she zipped between them. As soon as their feet kicked off, their bodies lifted up into the air.
"You don't understand! That brat called us names!" One of them protested as he attempted to grip the brick wall lining the side of one building.
"Then she threw her shoe at my head!" Yelled the other.
Ochako knew the threat was over and turned toward the little girl. "Are you okay?" She asked.
"Uh huh. Thanks, ma'am!" She said with a big smile and nod.
"Where are your parents?" Ochako asked her.
"At work. But my brother is supposed to meet me here." She explained.
"Did you really call those men names and throw your shoe?" Ochako asked, putting her hands on her hips. Her eyes looked down for a second and noticed the girl's shoe was untied.
She shook her head.
"It's not fair to lie." Ochako directed. "Your shoe is untied."
"I don't know how to tie them. My brother is supposed to teach me today."
"Who is your brother?" The teen asked.
"He's Tack and I'm Saizy!" She answered enthusiastically.
Ochako tapped her communicator in her ear. "Ryukyu, I found this little girl being attacked by two men on Twelfth and Flower Pedal lane. If someone wants to grab these men, I can escort the girl back to her family."
"Roger that, Uravity. I'll send Nejire-Chan over." Ryukyu responded. "Get the girl to her parents quick so we can rap this up."
"Yes, sensei!" Ochako obediently said. "Okay." She turned back to the girl. "Where did you say your brother was supposed to meet you?"
"Right here. But someone is missing..." She said.
"Other than your brother?" The young hero asked.
Saizy nodded.
"Deku in pursuit!" Shouted a familiar voice.
The girls turned around the alley to find Izuku Midoriya in his hero suit dash around a corner and halt. "Wha...? Uraraka?"
Unfortunately for Ochako, today was not a good day to run into her classmate and best friend. Just the other night, she found herself watching him out the dorm window training with his legs in the cool night. And the other girls in their class wouldn't stop teasing her about a crush on him, which she denied.
But something was definitely there, ever since Yuga Aoyama was the first to verbally point it out to her. On top of her focusing on her career to becoming a great hero, she didn't think Izuku could be carrying the same feelings toward her.
"Hey Deku-kun!" She smiled, ignoring her thoughts and trying her best not to make their surprise encounter awkward. "Are you here to help this girl?"
Saizy smiled.
"Well, Endeavor received the message about a drug bust in the area and sent me to take care of it but I guess it was a false alarm. I should be heading back now. Good to see you!"
"Wait!" Saizy cried out.
Izuku stopped in his tracks. "What is it?"
"Will you both help me look for my brother?" She asked timidly, hiding her hands behind her back.
Izuku sighed. "I'd love to but I'm sure Urar- Uravity here is more than capable."
"Can I at least get a hug from you two?" She asked.
"A hug? TOGETHER?!" Ochako and Izuku questioned at the same time.
Saizy giggled. "Just a quick one? You remind me of my parents..."
Izuku cleared his throat. A real hero would do anything noble, even giving a lost child a hug. The only issue was that Ochako would also be in the hug.
Saizy opened her arms up.
Ochako sighed and crouched down to hug her. Izuku gulped and did the same. The hug only lasted for a second, but it was nice. Warm. Izuku and Ochako could feel it. But then, Saizy giggled and gripped tighter.
A flash of light enveloped their vision and suddenly they felt like they were both being lifted off the ground.
Another moment passed and they woke up as the light disappeared and the ground reconnected to their feet.
Izuku found himself in a changing room, halfway dressed out of his hero suit. Although it looked a little darker, with whiter trim than his black.
"What?" He asked himself aloud as he looked around.
"Evening, Deku-sensei!" Someone called to him. It was a teenager dressed in a red suit that he did not recognize.
"Sensei?" Izuku thought. "I'm not back at Endeavor's agency already, am I? Did I black out?"
"Hey I thought you got that muttering fixed."
He turned to find Kyoka Jiro in her hero suit, chewing on bubble gum. But something was very different. Firstly, she looked very old. Much older than he last saw her.
"J-Jiro?" Izuku blurted. The second thing was that he was halfway out of his costume shirtless.
"You okay, Deku? You look nervous. Is the wife giving you trouble?" She asked.
"W-W-WIFE?!" He screamed.
"It's worse than I thought..." Jiro gasped.
"Wh-What is?!" Izuku questioned in a panic.
Jiro rolled her eyes. "Dude, were you hit in the head harder than usual today?"
"Where am I?" He asked.
"Dude, are you kidding? Earth to Deku? You're at your own agency getting ready to go home. And you know Ochako doesn't like to be kept waiting."
"O-Ochako?!" Izuku sat down on the bench and clutched his cranium. "Oh this is so much to process..."
"So something is wrong." Jiro frowned. "I'm calling Ochako." She whipped out her cellphone and dialed a number.
Ochako answered after a moment of it ringing. "H-Hello?"
"Ochako, your husband is having some sort of breakdown. I don't know what's up but I might have to take him to the hospital." Jiro explained.
"M-My husband...?" She asked as her eyes stared at the wedding photo on the wall before her. It was of Izuku and Ochako. Their outfits were the traditional wedding kimonos. She always wanted to get married like that...
This couldn't be a nightmare...only because, so far it was everything she wanted. Of course, she wants nothing more than to become a great hero, but what would her life be like outside of the work? Would she date a lot or confess and settle? Izuku wasn't exactly a bad decision. But it felt very strange. Like the ending of her favorite movie was spoiled.
And it didn't help her conflicting emotions toward her friend. Would marrying him be the right thing?
The moment she woke up, she was in a kitchen. Simple drawings of Deku and Uravity hung on the fridge, drawn by children obviously. Their children?
At first she went along with it, thinking she had passed out embarrassingly and was imagining all of this. But the more she saw and heard, the more it felt real. And possible.
Children. It must be Saturday, like it was when she started the day as an intern for Ryukyu. There were five kids. FIVE!
The oldest was absent, but present in every family photo. He was a UA graduate, by the look of one photo of him with her, and Deku. The other four were between around 16 and 8 years old. All of this from all the family photos on the walls. Honestly, the entire home looked like something she truly wanted.
And that's when her cellphone rang.
"Yes, Izuku is freaking out about something and won't tell me what. I think he hit his head." Jiro explained. She sounded a little older too.
"I-I'm kinda feeling that way too. Let me come get him." Ochako insisted.
"Are you sure?" Jiro asked.
"Y-Yeah. Probably just a sickness...in our f-family." She winced.
"Alright. I'll keep him here until you arrive." The Earphone jack hero offered.
The older versions of Izuku and Ochako woke up in a different place as well. In the middle of an alley in their hero suits.
Izuku sat up. "Honey? What are you doing here?"
Ochako sat up. "Wha-... Where are we? Why am I in my suit? It was my day off!"
"Weird. I feel like I just hit my head." He groaned. "Let's get out of here and report to the agency."
Ochako stood up and quickly jumped, finally getting a closer look at her husband. "Izuku! You're so young!"
"So are you!" Izuku pointed. "I-I mean not that the way you normally look is old or anything..." He backtracked.
She rolled her eyes. "Well, either we were hit with some Quirk and got knocked out, or this is a dream."
"If we were both targeted, we should make sure the kids are safe." Izuku suggested.
"That's a good start." Ochako agreed. "We'll split up. I'll go check back at the house. You go report to your agency."
"All these years, I never get used to hearing that." He pointed out.
"I know." Ochako kissed his cheek casually before dashing off. "And be careful with One For All! We still don't know if this is a dream!"
"I got it, Ocha. I got it." He smiled before powering up his Quirk. But it definitely felt different. Like he couldn't access it in full. What happened to them?
"DEKU!" Endeavor boomed as he appeared over their heads, flying with his flames. "YOU ARE FIVE MINUTES TOO LATE!"
"Agh!" Izuku jumped. "Endeavor?! I thought you retired!"
A vein appeared on Endeavor's forehead. "What did you say to me, boy?"
"Ochako... I don't think we were hit with a Quirk..." He gulped.
"Uravity! Time to wrap this up. Did you bring the girl back to her family?" Ryukyu asked as her and Nejire appeared in the sky, taking the thugs with her.
"Girl?" She looked over to Izuku for help with an answer.
Ryukyu and Endeavor looked at each other. "Interrogate those street thugs. Perhaps one of them has a mind warping Quirk." The Flame Hero suggested.
"WE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!" One shouted.
"Hehe! It worked, big brother! The past and future have swapped bodies!" Saizy cheered as she stood by me.
Of course it did! All I had to do was be in that future timeline to bridge the connection. Saizy had to be with the past versions of Izuku and Ochako in person. Now we just sit back and watch the chaos.
"Big brother, you promised Mommy and Daddy that you wouldn't do that anymore!" She whined to me.
Oh come on! Can't I have just a little fun? It hasn't even gotten good yet.
"How long will it take for them to learn something?" My little sister asked.
Any minute now.
Back in the past, Izuku and Ochako were excused for the day and sent to their UA dorm. It was evening anyway and they decided to play out this "dream" or whatever was happening rather than get involved in a wild goose chase with those street thugs and Ryukyu.
Before they opened the Alliance Heights doors, Izuku sighed. "I hope this is a dream."
Ochako placed her hand on his shoulder, careful as always not to rest all five fingers down. "I do too. But reliving the past for a day or so shouldn't be so bad, right? We'll face it together."
"I'm just glad to be with you." Izuku turned from the door and placed his forehead against hers.
The doors opened up without their interference and Tenya Iida emerged with a frown on his face. "Midoriya, Uraraka! Good to see you two! Come inside so we can begin preparations for dinner! We're on cooking duty tonight." He didn't seem to notice his friends embracing so closely, maybe he fogged up his glasses.
"Oh that's wonderful!" Ochako cheered as she clasped her hands and broke away from Izuku. "Cooking for all our friends again."
Tenya smiled. "I'm glad to see at least one of us is eager for this responsibility. Do you have a dish in mind?"
"I know just the thing after a long day!" She pumped up with a fist in the air.
Izuku smiled at her, staring for a longer time than Iida was familiar with.
"Midoriya, quit oogling your classmate!"
"S-Sorry!" Izuku blushed.
"Sorry isn't setting the table. Let's move!" Iida turned and ran back inside, assuming Midoriya would follow just as quickly.
"Heh... Guess I better go set the table then." The green haired hero snickered.
Ochako smiled and kissed his cheek. "I love your cooking too but we should try to lay low tonight."
"Shouldn't be hard for me. I'm still a nervous boy after all these years."
"Midoriya!"
"Coming!" He ran inside, with Ochako following after.
As for Izuku and Ochako in the future, things were going much more chaotically. I picked the right timeline. She picked him up from his agency and they took the train home. There, four kids were waiting on them.
"Mom! Dad! Where have you been?!" Their oldest daughter asked as she wore a kitchen apron over her school uniform and her long green hair was messy.
"Sorry!" They shouted in unison.
Izuku looked at her and the three other kids waiting at a kitchen table. "S-So this is..."
"Our home." Ochako gulped.
"L-L-Let's get through dinner first. Th-Then you and I need to talk." Izuku spoke to his classmate, in the body of his future wife.
She nodded silently in return.
"You know how to cook." Izuku described. "You should be the one to make something. A-And I'll help of course in any way I can."
Ochako smiled. "Thanks."
"You still haven't answered me." Their daughter stood there before them with a scowl on her face that looked more like she was a product of Katsuki Bakugo, rather than them.
"Oh! Well, your father just had to stay late in his...office. And Jiro asked me to pick him up." Ochako explained, awkwardly patting Izuku's shoulder.
"Yeah! Yep. Kind of a rough day...at my office."
"Actually..." Ochako remembered their oldest son (moved out) was a graduate at UA, and their second oldest, their present daughter, was wearing a UA uniform. "Shouldn't you be at your dorm?"
"Yeah. I should be." She narrowed her eyes. "But then Toshi called me and said nobody was home when he and Sachi and Nana arrived. Someone needed to be here to prepare dinner. And I did so there's no need to make a whole new meal."
"Were you excused by UA?" Izuku asked.
"Mr. Aizawa excused me at least for dinner." She said. "Now let's eat before it gets any colder."
Izuku wanted to address her by name, but he didn't know it. All he could do was place a hand on her shoulder. "Hey... Thank you. We're sorry we got home so late."
She sighed, feeling a bit of anger leave her system. But her frustration lingered. "Let's just eat as a family, okay, Dad?"
Izuku shuddered, but nodded.
As they sat down together and started eating, Ochako glanced over to Izuku and subtly pointed to each of the kids. She mouthed their names to him.
"So... Yoshi." He sat up and looked over at his son.
"...What about him?"
Ochako facepalmed and mouthed "Toshi" to him.
"Toshi! How was school today?" He asked.
His son looked back at him again. "It was fine. Bakugo's been getting involved with some video game tournaments and livestreams so he showed me a couple games to try out."
He sounded as if he was attempting to convince them of something. Something to do with video games. This was big. The Izuku and Ochako who are parents to these children had their rules, but the Izuku and Ochako currently there had no idea what they were.
"Sounds...interesting." Izuku said, shrugging to Ochako.
Ochako shook her head. "Toshi, do you want to join him?"
His eyes lit up. "Can I? I promise I won't let it get in the way of homework and I'll be home every night by 9pm. I promise!"
The classmates looked at each other, through the eyes of their married counterparts. "Okay. 9pm then." Ochako reminded.
"Yes!" He fist pumped.
"Video games, huh?" Izuku thought out loud.
"Yeah..." Toshi said.
"Have you ever thought what you wanna be when you grow up?" The green haired hero (in-training) asked.
Each of the kids froze in their chairs. Even their oldest daughter in her UA uniform.
Ochako was quick to notice this and glanced at her partner, giving him a frown. "Encourage them!" She mouthed.
Izuku nodded. "Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to become a great hero."
She facepalmed again. Their kids remained frozen, all giving him side looks.
He started to sweat. "Uh... You may already know how I was when I was your age. B-But I put my goals before me and-"
Their oldest daughter stood up, bowed to her parents, and excused herself out of the room.
"Now you've done it." Ochako said out loud.
"Did what? What just happened?" He asked.
Ochako stood up and walked after their daughter.
Ouch. Not going so well for them. Not quite what I was expecting either. Let's see how the older versions are doing in their younger bodies.
They just rapped up dinner. Everyone in Class 1-A had a satisfied smile on their faces as they cleared their places, carrying their plates to the sink where Iida was enthusiastically cleaning it all.
"Wow I don't remember you being such a good cook, Ochako!" Eijiro Kirishima said.
"Yeah! It feels like my stomach is in love." Minoru Mineta added.
"It's not just Uraraka. Midoriya and Uraraka looked like they worked together so well with the dinner." Kyoka Jiro pointed out.
Izuku and Ochako froze in place.
"Yeah weren't you guys attacked by some Quirk today or something?" Mashirao Ojiro asked as he sat down on the couch. "You're so in sync today."
"Yeah it's like you're an old married couple!" Toru Hagakure jumped up.
Ochako laughed nervously. "No no no we're not together."
"Not yet." Mina winked.
Izuku blushed. They noticed that it wasn't the usual heavy blush and sweating he would do with this amount of teasing. Just a simple blush.
"No. Way!" Hagakure squeaked.
"Guys. Leave them alone. Great teams working together does not mean they're romantically involved in anything." Momo Yaoyorozu explained. "Although, I would take advantage of that momentum in training. Tonight, it felt like you two were able to communicate almost without even talking."
"Sure felt like we were at a fancy restaurant with a professional cook and a trusting waiter, ribbit." Tsuyu Asui remarked with a large finger on her lip.
Now the couple were both blushing. "Come on, guys. It was nothing!" Ochako waved it all away.
"You two have gotten close." Yuga Aoyama pointed out. "Romance or no, you should pursue that connection."
"C-Connection?" Izuku asked.
Everyone smirked at them.
"L-Let's see what's on TV!" Izuku volunteered.
As he dashed for the remote and turned on their flatscreen, Ochako felt someone tap her arm. "E-Excuse me, Uraraka?"
It was Jiro, with a scared look in her eyes.
"What is it?" Ochako turned and asked softly.
"Can I speak to you in private?" Jiro asked, rubbing her arm.
"Sure. We can go to your room if you like."
They both nodded and walked upstairs to her bedroom. "You just seem very trustworthy today. Not just the thing with Midoriya. S-So I thought I'd talk to someone like you about it. I would have asked Momo but I don't know if she has as much experience either."
"Experience in what?" Ochako asked as they went in and sat down on her bed.
"...Dating." Jiro tapped her ear jacks together.
Ochako's eyes grew wide. Her fake teenage facade was swept away as her more mature motherly instincts kicked in. "Sweetie, I'd be happy to talk about that." She said as she placed her hand over Jiro's.
Most of the girls decided to leave the main floor and let the boys watch an action movie together.
It was so cheesy however, that most of it was them talking to Izuku about girls.
"Y'know, of all the guys at UA, I never thought I'd be having this conversation with you, Midoriya." Kirishima smirked. "It's not just because you're usually focused with hero work and studies, you're just too awkward to mention crushes and girl to."
"Yeah well... Eventually we'll all have to think about what kind of people we want to be outside of our careers." Izuku chuckled.
"So you are familiar with the female species?" Fumikage Tokoyami asked.
"I knew it!" Hanta Sero laughed.
"With Uraraka too. Lucky dog." Mineta patted his back.
"How long have you two been together, then?" Iida asked his friend.
"...A while." Izuku answered after a moment. "But I promise, we don't let it interfere with our work. What's important is finding a balance. We're not monks, guys. We can date and have some fun while we pursue our dreams."
The boys of Class 1-A nodded in agreement for the most part. Even Bakugo was sitting in the back with his face halfway in a textbook, listening in on their conversation.
"I would be lying if I said the women of this school are...tempting." Tokoyami cleared his throat.
"Dude, why'd you say it like that?" Sero cocked an eyebrow.
"Even so. Right now is the most crucial part of our lives as heroes. If we don't devote more time to it, our distractions and pleasures could take us away, and we could fall behind." Iida instructed. "It's definitely easier when we're older. My elder brother told me he would date as much as he was on patrol, and it did not affect his work. But right now, we are UA students. We need to maintain the professional standards of this school."
Izuku smirked. "What about Mei Hatsume?"
Iida froze. "What about her, Midoriya?"
"Eh. Nothing." Knowing that Iida would eventually begin dating her and get married, he didn't say anything more, but he knew that Iida secretly already did like her, in spite of her obsessive nature with her inventions.
The other boys laughed.
"Gotta be honest. I wouldn't mind going out with some of the girls from the school. Even just for fun. Nothing serious." Kirishima spoke out.
Izuku smiled. "Exactly."
Iida put a finger to his chin. "I suppose healthy activities with friends outside of the dorms is beneficial for us."
"Group date?" Denki Kaminari suggested.
"I'm down!" Mineta raised his hand.
"Who would even say yes to you, Mineta?" Rikido Sato joked.
They laughed again. Even Bakugo broke a smile here and there.
It had been only a few minutes and Jiro was in tears resting her head in Ochako's lap, while Ochako gently stroked her arm to give comfort.
"Th-That idiot never catches a hint!" Jiro sniffed.
"Boys are super dense, Kyoka. You have to be more obvious and give them the opening." She advised.
"Kaminari is dumber than any other boy I've met..." She grumbled.
Ochako giggled lightly. She asked Jiro this question before. She knew their history. Jiro works at the Deku agency because he saw what a helpful and skilled heroine she could be on his team. On the battlefield, she got his back more than Ochako ever could. She was forever grateful for that. It made the Midoriya's and the Kaminari's grow closer than many post-UA connections. "What exactly do you see in Kaminari? There are other boys here that seem like a good catch."
Jiro sniffed. "He appreciates my music. And...he saw me first."
"You think he likes you back?"
Jiro nodded. "I know. Crazy."
"No no. I don't think so. I think it's cute." Ochako smiled. "And I think you might be right. There's only one way to find out."
Jiro sat up.
"You set the date. Don't even give him an option to say no. Be assertive." Ochako taught.
Jiro's eyes grew big. Hearing this made so much sense, but it was so alien to her, and to the Ochako she knew. "What kind of Quirk were you hit with again?"
Ochako sighed. "Can I trust you with something?"
Jiro readjusted herself to face her new friend. "Sure. What's up?"
She gulped, and began to tell Jiro everything. How she woke up this morning married to Izuku, 40 years older than now, and how she suddenly hit her head and came to in an alleyway beside her husband who was also now a teenager with her again.
The purple-haired girl didn't know what to think once Ochako had concluded.
"Ochako... I think you just think you're married to Izuku."
"I know it sounds crazy but I wasn't like this earlier today, right? You said it yourself, you would have turned to Momo for your problems but you came to me. Quirks don't give people a boost in wisdom and maturity. 40 years of memories that haven't happened yet." Ochako explained.
"I don't know. There could always be a Quirk to do that. Implant false memories." Jiro suggested.
Ochako pointed her finger. "But the only culprits are two street thugs. Nejire messaged me and said their criminal records are super small and their Quirks are just for fighting. And they were already hit with my Quirk before I woke up."
"If it is true, and you really are from the future... Now what?" Jiro asked.
"Now we wait."
Both girls grabbed each other and screamed as I appeared on the far side of Jiro's room. Just a humble teen boy in rags and blue spiked hair.
"Hey! Easy!"
"Who are you? What are you doing in here?" Ochako asked.
"My name is Tack. Me and my sister are the reason you and your husband are here."
"Husband?!" Jiro questioned. "So all of that..."
"Is true. I went to the future, she went to the past, and we switched your minds with your past selves." I told them.
"You can time travel and switch people's minds?" They asked.
"I can do a little more than that but yeah." I think I can fake this Quirk thing. Wouldn't want to dump too much of my identity on them. Their tiny mortal brains would explode if I revealed I was an inter-dimensional lesser god.
"Well switch us back!" Ochako snapped.
"Excuse me?"
"You think it's funny to do that sort of thing? My past self wouldn't last a day in my shoes! And my kids. They need me! And my husband!" She shouted.
"I think you underestimate your past selves." I smirked.
"Doesn't matter. Switch us back." She demanded.
"Can't do that." I confessed. Honest.
"And why not?" She stood up from the bed and approached me.
"I can't undo this unless my sister is in sync with me in the other timeline."
"What is she doing now?" Ochako asked.
I laughed. But then. I stopped. My smile dropped. I couldn't see her anywhere. I couldn't find her in that timeline. "Oh no..."
Past-Izuku asked Toshi to finish up dinner with his siblings while he stood up and went after past-Ochako and their future daughter. Ochako ran up and grabbed her arm.
"Rei." She said.
The green-haired girl turned her head. Tears reflected light from the streetlamp.
"What's wrong...sweetie?" Ochako asked.
Rei stopped trying to pull away and stood still. Ochako used that opportunity to hug her firmly. It may not be her daughter technically now, but it was a girl who needed her mother right now. And maybe her real father too.
Izuku caught up but stayed back a few feet, watching the hug.
"Dad doesn't understand us..." Rei confessed.
Ochako could tell this was a major secret. Something they needed to know. Something she never said aloud before.
"We love him. I love him. But he puts too much pressure on us to be like him. He's done it for years." She explained.
"But you're a UA student." Ochako pointed out.
"Not in the hero course." Rei said. "Mom, I'm in general studies. I want to be a lawyer. Koku is the hero. He wanted to become a hero like Dad so he followed in his footsteps. But the rest of us don't really want that... But Dad never catches on."
Izuku's heart dropped. His own children in the future don't want to be heroes, like him? Still, being a lawyer... That means something to Rei. The video games may not become a career, but it's something Toshi likes. Being a hero is something he needed to work toward. But his kids?
"I understand." He spoke out.
Rei noticed him and bit her lip.
"You should have told us sooner." Izuku said.
"Your father is more understanding than you judge him for. He's just...off today." Ochako shared.
Rei nodded. "I'm so sorry..."
Izuku smiled. He walked up to her and opened his arms. Rei started crying heavily as she jumped into his embrace and hugged back.
"C'mon. I'll walk you to the train station. You were going back to UA, right?" He offered.
Rei nodded. "Thank you, Dad."
"Travel safe. Call us when you get there." Ochako instructed.
Their daughter smiled warmly. "I will. Tell Toshi and the others I'm sorry for walking out. I'll come back next weekend."
"You better." Ochako smirked.
Izuku smiled and escorted her away, after one more hug from Ochako.
As they walked off, Ochako was about to head back inside when Saizy appeared out of the bushes.
"Hi!" She waved.
Ochako's eyes bulged out of her skull. "Y-You? Saizy?!"
Saizy nodded. "Me, Saizy!"
"You put me and Deku here!" She pointed.
"Me and my brother did."
"But...why?!" She asked.
"Tacky said it was to help you guys out with something. Mommy and Daddy told him no shenanigans so it's okay!" Saizy explained.
"Help with what? Being shown our future? Why am I married to Deku!?" Ochako snapped.
Saizy frowned. "You like him, right?"
Ochako groaned. "I don't know... I shouldn't because it's a distraction to me."
"Your solution was to bottle your feelings down. That's not healthy..." Saizy said.
"I'm not bottling them down. I'm putting them away. Izuku isn't a boy I should pursue. He's my rival." Ochako said.
"But this future..."
"This is a dream!" She shouted at the girl. "You and your brother did something to us and now we're dreaming!"
Saizy stepped back.
"Just...put us back in our original bodies!"
She sniffed, wiping her eyes.
Ochako softened up and sighed. "Look, Saizy."
She began to cry and run off.
Ochako chased after her. "Saizy, wait!"
Just then, a black van sped by, drifting to the side, smacking Ochako off her feet as it stopped next to the girl. Two men jumped out, cornering Saizy.
She lifted her arms defensively as they approached.
"After all these years..." They grabbed her and climbed back in the van. Before Ochako could get back on her feet, the van then shifted into drive and drove off.
"Saizy!" Ochako called. "Okay... I'm 40 years older. But I bet I can do this..." She tapped her clothes and shoes with her fingers and dashed after the vehicle.
Ochako and Jiro called Izuku to Jiro's room and forced me to explain everything to him. If he knew the truth, maybe they would all be able to help me.
Izuku had to sit down on the bed. "So just for a prank, you switched me and my wife with versions of us from 40 years ago?"
I sighed. "Yes..."
"And your parents told you not to, right?" He cocked an eyebrow at me. Like he knows more than me!
"Yes." I rolled my eyes.
"And now it's backfired. You lost your little sister in the time stream." He added.
"Yes! Can you help me or not?! You're heroes, aren't you?!" I asked.
"Yes. We are heroes. But we can't help you in this timeline." Ochako said.
"I can't send you to your correct timeline without Saizy's connection." I explained.
"Could you go?" Izuku asked.
"...I could." I sighed. "But that would solidify the effects of the two timelines. It won't be unfixable but it'd be too difficult for my little sister to fix with me... She's inexperienced."
The couple looked at each other. "Do it." They said.
"Hold on! He just said the effects here would be solidified. I don't think they can unfix it if he goes... You'd be stuck here." Jiro jumped into the conversation.
Izuku looked down. "You're right. But this is for a little girl."
Ochako nodded. "I miss our family... but it's not the first time we had to put our responsibilities before them..."
"You also realize your younger selves are in your bodies." I said.
"Well, you said you did this for us to learn something. Maybe they have to learn something too. It's not like they're being left in the hands of strangers." Ochako assumed.
"Go." Izuku said. "Find our younger selves. They'll help you after you tell them everything."
I groaned. "I was afraid of that. Immature teenagers with almost no physical weaknesses."
"You travel between time and space. I'm sure you'll be fine." Izuku smirked.
I stepped away, ready to jump 40 years in the future. "I will come back for you guys." I promised.
They nodded and grabbed hands, watching as a bright light filled the room where I stood, and then went away with me.
A moment later, I blinked and found myself on the street. Up ahead, I saw a woman on the sidewalk. It was Ochako! What are the odds?!
"Hey!" I called and ran to her.
She was down, on her knees crying.
"Hey!" I said as I approached. "What happened?"
"W-Who are you?" She turned and asked.
"Tell me what happened..."
Ochako turned to face me. She didn't say anything but I feel I could tell. Saizy was gone...
"What happened to her...?" My voice cracked.
"Two men in a van took her. Izuku went after them after I told him... I wasn't fast enough. I'm not fast enough." She sobbed.
My face went from that of sadness to anger. "What are you talking about?!"
"She was right there... But they got me before I could save her."
"And you're here crying instead of going after her, or going to check on your kids?" I asked.
"I know! I know! I just...froze up."
"...Why?" I asked.
She sighed and wiped her rosy cheeks. "All day, I was thrown into something I always wanted... But now that I'm forced into it, I feel all sorts of insecurities piling on. I'm not qualified to be a mom... And now I'm starting to doubt becoming a hero... If I can't even save one little girl in need..."
I exhaled. "Maybe you still can." I reached my hand out to her. "I played my prank on you guys for a reason..."
She took my hand and stood up. Although she had no idea what I was talking about.
"Both Izuku Midoriya, and you, Ochako Uraraka, are the greatest examples of heroes, and people. Your actions throughout your lives shape the future of your society. A guy like me doesn't notice people like you unless you do something memorable. And you have many times." I shared. "So I thought it would be a harmless bit of fun to switch you and Izuku with your future selves, but I was wrong. I put my sister in danger."
Speaking of, thunder cracked over our heads before Izuku landed on the street. He stood up and looked at me. "You must be Tack."
I gulped and nodded.
He turned to Ochako. "I found them. Are you ready, Uraraka?"
Hearing her surname after a whole day of "Mrs. Midoriya" or "Midoriya" or even "Ochako" gave her mixed feelings. She enjoyed being married and having kids. But it was nice to be reminded of who she is right now. Ironic how Deku always said the right thing, even if it's not what he meant.
"I am. But we need someone to watch the kids." She said.
"Already on it. Apparently my emergency babysitter contact in my phone is Mina 'Kirishima'." Izuku pointed out as he held up his phone.
"Why does that not surprise me?" Ochako smiled lightly, shaking her head.
"I'm ready to go." I said. I introduced myself to Izuku and told them my story. Just another reason why I'm never doing this again. I have to tell the same story to so many people!
"You can travel between timelines and switch people's minds. What else can you do?" Izuku asked. He sure took it well.
I thought for a second. "I'm technically not allowed to do much else in these timelines... But my sister comes before that. I'll do what I can to help you save her."
"We appreciate any help we can get. Just as long as we can trust you." Ochako narrowed her eyes at me.
"I'm with you." I nodded. And I meant it.
Izuku nodded back. "Ochako, tap him and yourself and hold on."
Ochako obeyed, tapping me, and herself. Then, Black Whip ripped out and wrapped around each of us. Izuku then blasted into the sky, carrying us with him.
"This is amazing!" He called to us through the howling wind. "I have access to all of One For All's abilities!"
"What?!" Ochako called back. Thankfully, she didn't hear what he said. But I did. Mostly because I already knew about it. I just threw a thumbs up to him.
We landed in front of some old house in a run down part of the city. The van was parked in the driveway to the side.
Ochako cancelled our zero gravity and stepped forward with them. "That's their van, alright."
I cracked my knuckles. "Time to kick some souls."
They looked at me quizzically. "Is that a saying where you come from?"
"Yeah? Because an injury to the soul is the worst kind of pain in existence." I said.
They shrugged and marched toward the house.
Izuku carefully took the front door and pulled it off of its hinges. There was still a sudden creaking sound with the door being removed. But nothing came of it. Our trio continued on through the house, slowly starting to overhear voices talking.
A cellar door in the kitchen area led to a set of basement stairs, where the voice was coming from. As we quietly walked down, we could hear them more clearly.
"I mean, after all these years, I was starting to think we were crazy! But now... It's real! The little girl anomaly is real!"
They turned the corner and spotted a group of villains around Saizy, tied up and crying through a bandana.
"This exact girl ruined our lives 40 years ago. And tonight, she appeared again. I told you she was a time jumper!" The leader said. Ochako recognized them as the same thugs that attacked Saizy in that alleyway, 40 years ago.
"Imagine the things we could do with this Quirk..." The second said.
"Yeah I'm not gonna lie. I thought you guys were crazy myself. But when you spotted her on the street today..."
"Just hope she didn't catch the attention of any heroes..." The leader said.
"There was one woman, but we hit her with the van." The second said.
They all seemed to chuckle at that.
"Alright. That's enough." I whispered.
"I agree." Izuku said. "But we don't know what their powers are."
"You're Deku! You can't be beat by a few low life thugs!"
"They also have Saizy as a hostage. Anything reckless could put her in danger." Ochako added.
"She's already in danger!" I said.
"HEY!"
I leapt out of the corner. "Get away from my sister!" I roared.
"Get out there!" Ochako hissed to Izuku.
Izuku quickly jumped out behind me.
The villains immediately backed away. Except the leader.
"Nah. This little girl 40 years ago ruined my life. I spent years behind bars all for minor offenses. Everyone shunned me. And she haunted my dreams. Every. Single. Night. I saw her every day. Like she was mocking me. Something about her...isn't right. And seeing her again tonight, having not aged a day. There's more to this girl than what I first thought. There's power."
"Fusion Coil." He announced.
The second thug approached and extended a tube of some kind from his arm, connecting it to the villain's back. Another tube came out of his other arm and struck Saizy, sinking itself into her arm as she cried in pain.
"STOP IT!" I screamed.
A blue glowing energy flowed from her through Fusion Coil into the villainous leader. "Name is Burstin. I convert energy into strength."
Izuku charged forward to fight, but Burstin swatted him away like a fly. His body hit the back wall and cracked it.
Our jaws dropped. "He's siphoning power from my sister!"
"You said sister. Right." Burstin snickered. "Get the boy too."
I roared and unleashed a burst of light into their eyes without thinking. Ochako rushed past me and tapped as many as she could.
The light seemed to pass around Burstin's body as he marched forward, dragging Fusion Coil and Saizy with him.
"His movement is limited!" Ochako called out.
Izuku recovered and unleashed One For All at a higher percentage than he could physically handle in UA. His hair lit up cyan and stood on end. His clothes shifted and swayed on his frame like they would in windy weather. His very presence shattered the air. Everything seemed to freeze.
But Burstin remained on his level. "This girl has got more power than you realize, old man."
"Who are you calling old?" Izuku snarked.
He charged the villain and the two clashed. The entire house exploded. Debris shot off in all directions. Ochako grabbed me and pinned me down. The other thugs were launched into the sky helplessly stuck with zero gravity effects.
Ochako couldn't see it, but I saw as Izuku, Deku himself, traded punches with the villain at lightning speed. I was having a serious deja vu moment. I've been over Izuku's life events before but some things seem new to me still. And others feel like they already existed, yet it was the first time watching it.
His clothing tore. One For All increased within him. It was as if it had no limit. He was the perfect vessel for such power. Worthy of wrestling the gods themselves. No wonder my kind studied these mortals so closely.
No matter how strong the Burstin villain became, Izuku's hits grew more fierce.
"We need to severe the connection!" I told Ochako.
"I can't see anything!" She warned me.
"Keep your eyes shut! I will guide you!" I told her. "You're strong enough to do this!"
I walked her through the bright colors illuminating the crater that was once the house. My sweet little sister looked out for us. If she was free from her bonds, she would reach out.
I guided Ochako's arms to the tube, and she ripped it fast. It left a little scratch on Saizy's skin, but she was otherwise okay. Even so, Burstin still had too much power burning within him to keep up a good fight. He pulled out Fusion Coil's other tube from his own body and began going harder at Izuku.
They clashed in the air. Punches and kicks generated shockwaves. He laughed as he hit and was hit.
Izuku grunted but remained headstrong. Calling upon One For All within, nine colors lit up around him until they landed in the palm of his hand. It clenched into a fist. And he sent it straight into the villain's face.
The blow carried them both into the street. It blasted a second crater into the ground. Asphalt, dirt, and rocks fell from the sky.
But Izuku stood victorious. Nothing too bad except some bruising and soreness in his limbs. His hair regained its slightly faded green, with some grey in there given his body's current age of 56.
Ochako smiled. "That's my Deku."
I smirked at both of them, which resulted in a combined explosion of blushes and stammering.
"Hey, enjoy this while it lasts. After all, it is just a dream." I joked.
Saizy's impatient groaning reminded me to untie her. I bent down and pulled her ropes and bandanas off.
Are you okay?
"I think so... But I'm telling Mommy and Daddy!" She shouted and stamped her foot.
"Okay okay. I get it." I sighed. "I'm sorry." I gave her a big hug, and she returned it even though she was still upset.
Are you ready to fix things with me? I can't do it without you.
She nodded. "I wanna go home."
Same. I never want anything like that to happen to you again and I promise I'll make sure it never happens again. I mean it. Even if I have to give up pranking.
"That's right."
Oh no.
Our dad emerged. He past by the unconscious villain in the crater, chuckling to himself as he approached us. "I think 'no more pranking' is an appropriate response to this mess." He said. "Now you two go to the other timeline while I sync here to switch these poor children back to their proper bodies."
Yes, Dad.
"Yay!" Saizy cheered.
"Hey wait!" Izuku and Ochako shouted.
We turned to see them standing together, holding hands. "Can we make one request?" Ochako asked.
Dad smiled and nodded. "You've earned it, so long as it's nothing worse than what's already taken place."
"Thank you." She bowed.
"We would like our future selves to know what we did, and what was said to us. So they know how to help their children." Izuku stepped up. "We're not qualified for it yet. But they are. And they need to know what Rei and Toshi talked about."
Dad nodded. "They're as confused as you are. And I already know they wish the same for you."
"Oh boy..." Izuku gulped. "Knowing our future selves spent the entire day in our bodies..."
"Hope they didn't do anything weird..." Ochako shuddered.
I couldn't help myself but laugh at that. "Is everyone ready?"
They looked at each other and nodded.
"One more thing. You won't remember what you did in this timeline. But you will have the memories of everything that was said and did in your timeline while you were away. And vice versa for them. Is that alright?" Dad asked.
They nodded. "We're not ready for this yet." Ochako said. "But I do want this future... Every bit of it."
"B-But it's probably best if we're not spoiled how it ends up." Izuku added.
"Ends up? My boy, your journey together never ends. Your actions have charted a course for the entire human race. Your power is comparative to us lesser gods." He explained. "I can say this because you'll forget about us too. For the best."
"Fine by me." Izuku choked. "That's...a lot to take in. It's been a long day."
"Yeah it has." Ochako grabbed his hand again. "If we won't remember this day then..." She quickly grabbed Izuku and kissed him firmly on the lips. After they broke away, she gave a signal.
"R-Ready when you are...Ochako..." Izuku swooned. He looked like he was about to fall over.
"Tack, Saizy, after you, my children." Dad invited.
I grabbed Saizy's hand and winked at the couple. "Thank you." I said before we disappeared in a beam of light.
Not long after, another beam appeared over them, and they woke up back in Jiro's room.
Jiro tilted her head. "You guys okay? You look like you blanked out for a second."
"Y-Yeah I think so. What were we doing in here again?" Izuku asked.
"Well, Ochako gave me some advice about boys before you barged in here." Jiro stated.
Izuku quickly bowed to her. "Ah! Sorry! I didn't mean to come in unannounced!"
She snickered. "I'm just kidding! I let you in when you came to find Ochako. Are you guys still feeling 'in sync' from that villain attack earlier?"
"In sync? What kind of Quirk were we hit with?" Ochako asked.
"I don't know." Izuku shrugged. "But I do remember dinner, and talking to the guys. Didn't feel like myself but it was nice feeling wiser than usual."
"Well, I think you two should keep that momentum." Jiro smiled. "You make a great team. Dinner was pretty good."
"And did you say I gave good advice about dating?" Ochako asked.
"Yeah. Now I know who I can turn to." She smiled.
Ochako blushed. "I'm not good at that."
"You were today. And I don't think that was a Quirk doing that. You guys have more in you than you let out." She said. "Speaking of which, it is getting pretty late. I like you guys but maybe you should go to your own rooms now."
"R-Right." They said in unison. That only made Jiro smile and raise and eyebrow.
Outside of her door, they looked at each other for a moment. "Um... Uraraka?" Izuku asked.
Ochako's eyes lit up. Butterflies filled her stomach just then.
"W-Would you care to...next weekend maybe go...see a movie...or something? J-Just a friend thing. As friends...you and me..." He stammered.
Ochako smiled. "I would love to. B-But...only if you call me Ochako from now on. Since we're good friends..."
"Okay, Ochako..." He nearly tripped his words saying her first name. It felt nice to say it. And it felt nice for her to hear it.
"We do make a good team." She smiled.
"...I agree." He smiled back.
40 years later, Izuku and Ochako climbed out of the crater and rounded up the villains. Something about a gang meet up full of ex-convicts hoping to use their combined forces for chaos. They filed a quick police report, then headed home.
Once they landed, Ochako resting on her husband's back, they went inside and found their kids watching a movie with Mina Kirishima holding a bowl of popcorn. Thankfully, they were already asleep.
"Hey!" Mina whisper-shouted to them.
"So sorry about this." Ochako whispered.
"No, no. It was fine! It's been a while since I've seen you guys! Even with kids of my own, I always love visiting the Midoriya clan. As soon as I put the movie on, they went right to sleep. But I could tell something was on their minds. Specifically Toshi." Mina explained.
"I'll handle it." Izuku said. "Let me put him to bed."
"I'll grab Sachi and Nana." Ochako volunteered. She picked them both up in each arm and marched away, waving to Mina.
"Thanks again, Mina." Izuku smiled.
"You're welcome, and don't worry about paying me or anything. It's on the house. But only if you offer to babysit my kids next time." She eyed him before walking out.
"I'll talk to Ochako about that." Izuku cleared his throat. Mina and Eijiro ended up with eight kids. EIGHT!
He then scooped up his 12 year old son and carried him up to his room. He laid the boy in his bed and tucked his body under the covers when he started to stir.
"Hey... I'm really sorry about tonight." Izuku frowned.
"That's okay, Dad. Thank you for letting me go to Bakugo's for the video game tournament." He smiled. "I know it doesn't mean much to you, but I appreciate it."
"I did agree to that, didn't I. Well, I'm not changing my mind about it either. You're my son. But you're free to be who you want to be. Just...remember to exercise, okay?" Izuku explained.
Toshi nodded. "I will, Dad." He smiled and settled down.
Izuku bent down and kissed his forehead before exiting the room.
Finally, he and Ochako collapsed in their bed side by side. "We did good." Ochako smiled and turned to face him.
"We're doing better. That's for sure. You're a much better parent than me." Izuku sighed.
"You had some great insights today too, honey. Don't shortchange yourself." She kissed his nose.
"We make a great team, don't we?" Izuku said.
"We do." Ochako replied. They shared another kiss before pulling the sheets over and falling fast asleep.
And as for me, I ended up grounded. Could've been worse though. But Dad thinks I could still be the one to train Saizy to time jump like me. So maybe we'll try again. But no pranking unfortunately. That went way too far. It failed. It always fails.
