Chapter 1
Harry Potter stormed into his bedroom and slammed the door behind him and threw himself on the bed, staring at the ceiling. Harry and his cousin Dudley was just attacked by Dementors, in Little Whinging. Harry still couldn't believe he was attacked by the guardians of Azkaban in a muggle neighborhood.
"How did they find me here?" he wondered. "Where the dementors sent by Voldemort? It has to be him," thought Harry as he paced around the small bedroom running his hand through his hair. Just then an owl came flying through the open window and dropped a letter on his desk. Harry ripped open the envelope and pulled out the letter inside, his heart pounding.
Dear Mr. Potter,
We have received intelligence that you performed the Patronus Charm at twenty-three minutes past six this evening in a Muggle inhabited area and in the presence of a Muggle.
The severity of this breach of the Decree for the Reasonable Restriction of Underage Sorcery has resulted in your expulsion from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Ministry representatives will be calling at your place of residence shortly to destroy your wand.
As you have already received an official warning for a previous offence under Section 13 of the International Confederation of Warlocks' Statute of Secrecy, we regret to inform you that your presence is required at a disciplinary hearing at the Ministry of Magic at 9 a.m. on the twelfth of August.
Hoping you are well, Yours sincerely, Mafalda Hopkirk Improper Use of Magic Office Ministry of Magic
Harry's temporarily stupefied brain seemed to reawaken. Ministry representatives will be calling at your place of residence shortly to destroy your wand. There was only one thing for it. He would have to run โ now. Where he was going to go, Harry didn't know, but he was certain of one thing: at Hogwarts or outside it, he needed his wand. In an almost dreamlike state, he pulled his wand out and started packing. Will the Aurors be arriving to arrest him? Would it be Death Eaters? Harry minimized his trunk and Hedwig's cage, not caring about underage magic. He was expelled anyway.
Harry completed his packing and turned to Hedwig. He quickly wrote a note,
Ron
I'm leaving Dursleys. Let Hedwig stay with you. See you soon.
Harry
"Hedwig, go to Ron and stay with him, I will see you later, girl." Hedwig hooted softly and flew out of the window.
Harry hurriedly walked down the stairs and paused to listen. The Dursleys were in the kitchen, obviously comforting Dudley. Harry felt a pang in his chest. He shook off the feeling and opened the door and was about to walk out when he had a thought.
Harry quickly covered himself with his invisibility cloak, pulled out his Firebolt and shot into the night, never noticing the owl that flew from his window, which delivered the letter from Arthur Weasley.
Harry stopped when he believed he had put a safe distance from Private drive. He hovered in the air and removed the cloak. It was difficult to fly while adorning the garment and visibility was poor. Harry ran a hand through his hair. Harry had no idea what to do. Should he go to the Weasleys? Harry decided against it. He didn't want to bring any trouble to the family. Hermione? No. The Aurors are sure to call on her.
Sirius. He mentioned having a home. Harry could stay with him. But how will he find his godfather? Harry was colder now and he did not think he could fly around like this. He should have brought Hedwig with him, Harry could have sent a letter to Sirius. Harry didn't have anyone to help him. Then a thought struck him.
"Of course," Harry berated himself and pulled the invisibility cloak on and flew to the ground and found himself in a small park. Harry landed and after making sure he was alone, called Dobby. He never called for Dobby before, but he was pleasantly surprised to see the elf appear before him.
"The great Harry Potter sir called Dobby," exclaimed the excited elf.
"Hi Dobby," greeted Harry. "How are you?"
"Dobby is fine, sir," replied the elf happily.
"Right, listen Dobby, I need your help," requested Harry.
"Yes, sir. Anything for you, sir."
"I'm in a little bit of trouble and I need to find my godfather, Sirius Black. Can you to take a letter to him?"
"Of course, sir," beamed Dobby. Harry smiled and quickly composed a letter to Sirius and handed over to Dobby, who vanished quickly.
Half an hour has passed and a tired, cold and hungry Harry sat awaiting Dobby. The elf finally arrived. Harry quickly jumped to his feet. "Well?"
Dobby looked down at his feet. "I'm sorry, sir. Dobby couldn't give the letter to Harry Potter's godfather."
"Why?" asked a confused Harry.
"Mr Black is with Headmaster and Harry Potter's Grangy and Weazys."
"You mean, Sirius, Dumbledore, Weasleys and Hermione are there?" Harry asked incredulously. Dobby nodded. "Maybe they heard about what happened and arrived at Sirius's house," he mused aloud.
Dobby shook his head. "No, sir. The Weaseyz and Harry Potter Sir's Grangy is living with your godfather for a while."
Harry was shocked and he felt betrayed. His suspicions were right. "They had all been together without me," he whispered with a tremble in his voice. Dobby looked at Harry sadly.
Harry swallowed hard. "What else do you know Dobby?"
"Headmaster managed to save you from not losing your wand, sir" Dobby continued. "He says you're not expelled from Hogwarts."
Harry's heart gladdened at that news. But he was upset at Sirius, Ron, Hermione and Dumbledore for leaving him alone at the Dursleys and he did not feel like meeting his godfather or his friends right now. He will find a hotel to stay. It was then Harry realized he didn't have any money. He will have to make a stop at Gringotts. Harry considered taking the knight bus, but wasn't in the mood to deal with the usual stares.
"Is there a way to reach Gringotts without taking the knight bus, Dobby?" inquired Harry. "I don't know how to apparate either," he added.
"Shall Dobby take Harry Potter sir to the bank?"
"Can you do that?"
"Yes, sir," nodded Dobby.
Harry gave his consent and Dobby popped them to Gringotts.
( BREAK)
Sirius Black was currently sitting at the table in the kitchen at Number 12 Grimmauld Place for the meeting of the Order of the Phoenix to begin and he was feeling short tempered and irritable. He glanced at the assembled witches and wizards. Albus Dumbledore, Head Master of Hogwarts and the Leader of the Order sat at the head of the table in deep thought.
On Sirius's left sat Remus Lupin who was in a similar mood to himself. Next along were Molly and Arthur Weasley with their son Bill. Molly appeared to be quite worried. Bill was quiet and observant. He worked alongside the Goblins and was a very skilled cursebreaker. Next to Bill was Kingsley Shacklebolt, a large soft-featured dark skinned man who was a very accomplished auror. Next was Sirius's cousin Nymphadora Tonks. She was a skilled auror and a metamorphmagus. Alastor Moody sat next to her. His magical eye revolving around. Minerva McGonagall and Severus Snape were next along the table.
The rest of the group consisted of a few office workers and ministry staff. The only one absent was Mundungus Fletcher who was a thief and had his finger in every despicable pie in the black market.
"Ah, Mundungus, nice of you to join us," greeted Dumbledore, in a deceptively polite voice as the man entered. The man grunted and took a seat, immediately noticing the hostile glares sent his way. "How was your evening, may I ask?" inquired the aged Head Master.
Mundungus hesitantly began to explain himself. "I had something to take care of-" but he was cut off by Sirius Black.
"You piece of shit, you were supposed to be guarding Harry," he shouted in fury.
"Calm down, Sirius," ordered Dumbledore. Sirius continued to glare at Mundungus. "We need to plan our next course of action," continued Dumbledore.
"Bring Harry here," asserted Sirius heatedly. "Tomorrow itself."
"Not yet, Sirius," replied Dumbledore with a stern face. "Perhaps in a couple of days."
Before any arguments could break out, Dumbledore held up his hand. "I have made my decision and have my own reasons for it. That's all I will say on the matter for the time being," he concluded.
Sirius glared at the aged wizard and stormed out of the kitchen and up the stairs where he found Fred, George, Ron, Hermione and Ginny, strings hanging from their ears. They flinched at Sirius's furious expression.
"Sirius, is everything alright," asked Hermione, tentatively. "When will Harry arrive?" she questioned further.
"In a couple of days," growled Sirius.
"A couple of days?" exclaimed Hermione. "Why isn't he brought here sooner?" she inquired worriedly.
Sirius sighed. "I do not know, Hermione. It is Dumbledore's decision and he is tight-lipped about why."
"I wish we could send a letter to Harry," sighed Hermione. "He is probably mad at us, right now," she added miserably.
"You maybe right about that," Ron gestured to the bedroom allotted to him where Hedwig was waiting with a note. Sirius was the first to reach her. He quickly read the note, cursed and sprinted down the stairs followed by the teens.
Sirius barged into the kitchen and made straight to Dumbledore and threw the note at him.
"Harry left the Dursleys," he shouted. The room erupted in a cacophony of voices. Dumbledore jumped to his feet and quickly read the note. He send a bang from his wand, silencing the room at once.
"Minerva, head to Hogwarts and see if Harry is there and stay at the castle in case he turns up," directed Dumbledore. Mcgonagall departed at once.
"Alastor, Remus go to Private Drive and make sure Harry is not there; Arthur, check the Burrow, Bill check Gringotts, Kingsley, speak to the conductor of the Knight bus, Harry may have travelled by the bus. Nymphadora, check the Leaky Cauldron."
Dumbledore turned to Harry's friends. "Do you know of any place Harry might visit?" The Weasleys shook their head. "How about Godric's Hollow?" suggested Hermione. "Harry did tell me he wanted to see where his parents are resting."
Dumbledore nodded. "I shall check myself." He looked pointedly at Snape, who gave a curt nod and left and with that Dumbledore and most of the Order left the house. Sirius looked around and saw Molly, Ginny and Hermione sitting together crying. Fred, George and Ron looked worried. Sirius slowly stood up and retired to his bedroom.
Sirius felt miserable. Being a fugitive, he cannot go out and search for his missing godson. It had been only a month since he last saw Harry in the hospital wing, traumatized after the events of the last task. Even then Sirius couldn't spend some time with him as Dumbledore sent him and Moony to recruit new members into the Order. He wanted to do something to protect Harry and Sirius eagerly went off on recruiting. Thinking over now, Sirius felt he should have stayed by Harry's bedside.
Now Harry is missing. Sirius buried his face in his hands and prayed to Merlin he could have his godson back and that wherever Harry is, he is safe from Voldemort and his followers.
( BREAK )
Harry walked into Gringotts and approached a goblin teller who was busily writing on a parchment. "Excuse me, I would like to visit my vault please."
The goblin continued his writing. "Name?" he asked, without looking up.
"Harry Potter," replied Harry. The goblin stopped his work and looked up at Harry. "Come with me," he instructed and Harry followed him nervously. Harry was led through a couple of passageways and into a large office. Huge shelves adorned the walls, containing books, folders, and some strange artefacts. A beautiful rug covered the floor. A large artfully crafted desk occupied the centre of the room. The goblin named Sharktooth sat behind the great desk staring at Harry.
"We meet at last, Heir Potter," greeted Sharktooth. "I'm Sharktooth, Potter Account Manager."
"Nice to meet you," said Harry.
"Let us come to the matter at hand. You were raised by muggles, I believe?" Harry nodded. "Are you aware of your family's status in the this world?" Harry shook his head. The goblin sighed and gave a brief introduction to Wizarding nobility and the status of House Potter as an Ancient house.
Sharktooth pulled a sheet of parchment out of his desk along with a ritual knife and handed them to Harry. Harry blinked and as directed by Sharktooth he prodded his ๏ฌnger with the tip and the blood began to leak onto the knife, Harry let a few drops of blood hit the parchment, he then healed his ๏ฌnger as the parchment glowed, he watched as writing appeared.

Harry now owned many properties and business around the world. Had investments in both muggle and magical worlds and his family owned Daily Prophet as well as the other magazines, the village of Hogsmeade, Diagon Alley, many farms, plantations, vineyards, all over the world.
Harry was shocked. "How did I inherit so many titles?"
"Wizarding family lines often mix with others," said Sharktooth. "You won the Slytherin Lordship by defeating the Dark Lord Voldemort."
Sharktooth gestured to the Lord Rings that appeared on the table, along with a parchment. Harry looked at the Rings and read the parchment before he slipped the Potter Ring on his ๏ฌnger and said "I Hadrian James Potter do hereby take up the position of Lord of the Most Ancient and Noble House of Potter" an in๏ฌux of information ๏ฌowed into his brain.
Harry repeated the same with the other rings and asked "So how do I take up my Dukeships?"
"Simply change Lord into Duke and add the lordship of that speci๏ฌc one at the end of your name" Harry nodded "I Hadrian James Potter, Lord of the Most Ancient and Noble House of Potter do hereby take up the position of Duke of Windsor" a ๏ฌash of light rang through the room.
"I Hadrian James Potter, Lord of the Most Ancient and Noble House of Gryf๏ฌndor do hereby take up the position of Duke of Wellington" and another ๏ฌash.
"Well, that's that. There are no marriage contracts on your name, Lord Potter. Anything else Gringotts can do for you?"
"Can you send me the statements regarding my finances to Potter Manor?"
"Of course, Lord Potter," replied Sharktooth. "May I suggest you perform the ritual which makes you an adult in the muggle world?"
"Alright and I will like to visit my family vaults. It was an honour to meet you, Sharktooth."
"Likewise, Lord Potter."
Later, Harry was escorted to the entrance hall by a goblin. He thanked the goblin and moved towards the portkey room. Harry's mind was spinning with all the happenings of the night. He entered the room and was about to depart when Harry heard someone calling his name. He turned around and saw Bill Weasley coming towards him. Harry remembered Dobby telling him that the Weasleys were at Sirius's house. Harry feared Bill might prevent him from leaving and persuade him to join them. He quickly tapped his Potter Lord's ring with his wand and portkeyed away.
Bill swore and hurried out of the bank and apparated to Grimmauld Place.
(BREAK)
Dumbledore entered the kitchen and was immediately surrounded by the rest of the residents of the house. Arthur has just returned from the Burrow.
"Well?" inquired Sirius desperately.
Dumbledore shook his head sadly. " I couldn't find Harry anywhere at Godric's Hollow." Sirius sat down with a sigh.
Soon, they were joined by Moody and Lupin. "Did you find anything?" asked Dumbledore.
Moody grunted and placed a couple of unopened letters on the table. "We found these on Potter's desk in his room." Dumbledore opened the one with the Ministry seal. Sirius and Arthur immediately recognised the letters they sent to Harry.
"Harry didn't receive any of our letters," murmured Sirius in dismay. "He must have left before the letters arrived."
Dumbledore agreed with a nod. "This is the letter from the Ministry. Harry hasn't read this letter and hence is not aware of the cancellation of his expulsion from Hogwarts."
"Poor dear must have panicked and left before the Ministry could break his wand," cried Molly. "He could be anywhere."
"Professor, what are we going to do?" asked Hermione worriedly. "We must find him quickly."
Their conversations were interrupted as Bill hurriedly entered the room. "Harry was at Gringotts," he reported without preamble. Everyone perked up at that good news. "But he portkeyed away before I could get to him."
"Why did Harry get away from you?" asked Sirius.
"I don't know," replied Bill. "He stared at me for a second and tapped his ring with his wand and disappeared," he explained.
"Did Harry claim his Heir ring?" wondered Sirius. Dumbledore looked thoughtful and called an elf from Hogwarts and retrieved his pensive. Bill provided the memory of sighting Harry. Dumbledore pressed some runes with his wand and the memory was projected in the small kitchen. Everyone let a sigh of relief at the sight of an unharmed Harry. Dumbledore paused the memory and zoomed on the ring on Harry's finger. " It seems Harry claimed his Heir ring," he remarked. "It has Potter family crest on it."
"Its the Lord's ring of House Potter," exclaimed a shocked Sirius.
"Nonsense, Padfoot," refuted Remus. "Harry is not of age."
"I have seen the Lord's ring on Uncle Charlus countless times," asserted Sirius, stubbornly. The others looked on while Dumbledore was deep in thought.
"I believe Sirius is right, Remus," said Dumbledore. "Harry is Lord Potter now." The Headmaster slowly stroked his beard. "It seems magic itself has intervened. When Harry was forced into the tournament, which was meant for wizards and witches of age, Harry was emancipated to be qualified on level with his fellow contestants," he finished with a smile.
"Wicked," chorused Fred and George. Dumbledore's eyes twinkled.
"So, since Harry is now an adult," began Sirius." he now has access to all the Potter properties, family magic and the vaults. Harry must have went to Potter Manor. At least, my pup is in the safest place he could be in," he concluded happily.
Molly dried her eyes. "I'm glad Harry is safe now. But he is all alone there."
"No, Molly," interjected Sirius. "There are house elves to take care of him and there are portraits of the former Potters in the house. I'm sure Uncle Charlus, Aunt Dorea, James and Lily are there. Harry will finally get a chance to meet his family," he finished with a choke in his voice. Remus placed an arm around his best friend.
"Well, Harry is safe now and that's all that matters," proclaimed Dumbledore. "Maybe we should give him some space and wait for him to contact us," he suggested and everyone agreed.
"Have a nice time, pup," whispered Sirius with a soft smile.
( BREAK )
Harry appeared in front of a huge gate. He touched the ring on the emblem carved on the gate which opened to reveal a long driveway.
In the distance, Harry could see a building. All around him were vast fields and meadows.
The magnificent front doors of the manor opened as Harry approached and the last living member of the Potter family entered the Manor.
A couple of elves wearing butler uniform with Potter crest appeared in front of Harry and bowed. One of the female elves, who looked older than the others stepped forward and gazed at Harry fondly.
"I'm Minnie, Master Harry, the Head Elf. Welcome to Potter Manor," she welcomed.
"Thank you," replied Harry.
"It's been many years, Master Harry," Minnie continued emotionally. "You have grown so much," she finished with a watery smile. Harry smiled warmly and comforted the elf as much he could.
Harry called Dobby, who appeared and looked around with wide eyes. Harry chuckled. "Dobby, welcome to Potter Manor."
"Thank you, sir," replied the elf.
"Would you like to work for me, Dobby?" Dobby's eyes widened and exclaimed. "Dobby would be honoured, sir." Harry grinned and bonded with the elf.
The other elves introduced themselves and Harry sent them back to their duties. Dobby accompanied them.
Minnie then led Harry to the Hall of Portraits, where the portraits of deceased members of House Potter hung. Harry looked around and found the portraits of his parents. They all were asleep.
"Shall I wake them, Master Harry?" asked Minnie.
"It's alright, Minnie," answered Harry. "I'll meet everyone in the morning."
"As you wish, Master", consented Minnie. "Would you like some dinner?"
Suddenly Harry's stomach rumbled. He realised he hadn't eaten anything since the afternoon. "Yes, please."
Minnie led Harry to the dining hall. It was about the size of the Great Hall at Hogwarts. There was huge windows on one side and expensive portraits of landscapes hung on the empty space in between. A long table occupied the middle of the hall and a majestic chandelier hung over the table. Harry was about to pull out a chair, when Minnie stopped him.
"As the Head of the Potter family you must always sit at the head of the table," she instructed. Harry agreed. Minnie returned wit roast chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy.
As Harry looked around he spotted a radio plugged into an electric socket. "Minnie, does the Manor have electricity?" he asked amazed.
"Yes, Master Harry," Minnie replied as she served Harry. " Mistress Lily devised a rune array that makes Muggle things work on electricity amidst magic", she explained. "She also arranged for some muggles to set up electricity in the house."
"You speak very well, Minnie," Harry observed.
"I was taught by Mistress Dorea ", replied Minnie proudly. Harry grinned. He asked more about his parents and grandparents and Minnie was more than happy to answer all his questions.
After Harry had his dinner, he was led to the master bedroom. Minnie wished him good night and left. Harry enlarged his trunk and pulled on his pyjamas. The room was equipped with a television, a ceiling fan and an air conditioner. At the end of the room was a balcony.
Harry changed and laid down on the bed. He had a long day. It was only in the afternoon he was at Private Drive trimming Aunt Petunia's plants under the hot sun, here he is now, lying in a very comfortable four poster bed in his own cool, air conditioned bedroom. He fell asleep with a smile. Harry was home.
AN-
In the novel, Arthur Weasley's letter arrives for Harry soon after the first letter from the Ministry. I changed that and delayed the other letters so Harry could make his escape.
Reviews will be much appreciated. Thank you.
