PREVIOUSLY-
"I was only gone for 15 minutes and you've already corrupted your other imprint." Sam told her with amusement.
"He's been running around in the forest all day, he needed a shower." She replied to him with a giggle.
"I see. You know you don't need to have an excuse to do what you want with your imprints, right honey?" Sam said to her.
"I'll be sure to keep that in mind." She smirked.
Her words sent shivers down my spine and she walked back over to me, grabbing my hand and heading toward the door. I gave her a questioning look.
"Sam's turn for a shower while we go cook dinner." She told me.
We walked down to the kitchen and she was quick to make fish fry for dinner, being sure to make an extra amount for both me and Sam. By the time she was done and we'd set the table, Sam had come down as well.
"This looks so good, honey." Sam told her, walking up behind her to put his arms around her.
It was the strangest thing to see him with her after what we'd just done and be totally fine with it. More than fine. I liked seeing it because I knew that it made her happy. I could feel her happiness and it made me happy too.
We ate dinner and I called my mom afterwards.
"Hey Bell?" I asked her after hanging up the phone.
"Yeah? Everything okay?" She asked, walking over to me from washing the dishes.
"Yeah, everything is fine. Mom wanted to see if you'd want to walk down with me for a few minutes. She made some apple pie and kinda wants to see you." I asked her nervously.
"Oh. Am I going to get the 'talk' about not corrupting you? Because I'm pretty sure I already have." She laughed, making me chuckle too.
"Yes, you have. And I don't know, she said Sam could come too." I responded to her.
Sam took over Bella's spot doing the dishes and looked over at me. "I'll stay and you two go."
"You sure?" I asked him back.
"Definitely. This is your 'bring home the girl you're going to spend your life with' night. You don't need me there for that. Besides, I see Sue every day." He mentioned. I smiled at his wording because it was true.
Bella was the girl I was going to spend the rest of my life with. It didn't matter that I was only 16, I knew that was an unchangeable fact and to me that was everything.
"Let me go get some pants on first… it might be awkward if I don't." Bella said with a laugh before running up the stairs.
When she came back down, she walked over to Sam and kissed him before walking back over to me and taking my hand.
"You ready to go?" She asked me. I nodded and we walked out the door headed down toward my house.
Before we walked up to the door I stopped, pulling Bella toward me and leaning down to kiss her.
When she pulled away, she rested her forehead against mine. "It'll be fine, Seth. I've known your mom since I was a kid."
"Yeah, but you weren't my imprint then… I know Mom already knows but it almost feels like we're walking in there saying 'surprise, we eloped!'. I mean, I know we're not married or anything but technically we might as well be and—"
"Seth." She stopped me mid-sentence. "Calm down."
I took a deep breath and re-centered myself by focusing on Bella's scent.
"Better?" She asked and I nodded. "Good, now Mr. Technically-might-as-well-be-my-husband, let's go see my new mother-in-law who is currently watching us from the window."
My mind was so focused on what she'd called me that I almost missed the part about my mom watching us from the window.
I gulped nervously and she grabbed my hand, pulling me toward the door.
My mom opened the door as we walked up to it and ushered us inside before the rain started.
"Seth, Bella, I'm so glad you came! I guess Sam stayed home?" She asked us as she hugged us both and motioned for us to go to the living room.
"He thought it should just be us tonight." I told her. She understood and smiled at me.
"So Bella, the last few days have been a bit of a change, haven't they?" Mom asked her.
"To say the least, but in such a good way. I wouldn't change what I have now for the world. Both Sam and Seth are the best things that have ever happened to me and even though it's only been a few days, I couldn't ever imagine my life without them." Bella explained to my mom making me light up with happiness.
"That's so wonderful, dear. I can already tell that Seth is completely enamored with you, although I think he might've been even before the imprint…"
"Mom… seriously?" I groaned embarrassingly.
Bella turned to look at me with an amused expression. "You had a crush on me?"
"It doesn't matter now." I muttered to her, still embarrassed.
"You're right because now your crush is 'technically' supernaturally married to you." She giggled while my mom watched our entire interaction with a smile.
"Seth tells me that you're planning on legally marrying Sam?" She asked Bella.
"He hasn't proposed or anything, but we talked about it before Seth imprinted on me. I know I can't legally marry them both though." Bella answered her.
"According to tribal law an imprint, if romantic in nature, is considered a marital bond and it mentions nothing against there being more than one. So while yes, it would not be classified as a legal marriage outside of the tribe, it is here and the council has recorded it as so." My eyes bugged out of my head at what my mom had just said.
"Wait, so you're saying that we're actually considered married?" I asked her immediately.
She laughed softly. "Yes, son. Technically to the tribe, Bella is married to both you and Sam. It's part of the reason I asked for you to come tonight. I only just learned about it while speaking with Billy and Old Quil today."
I looked at Bella who was looking at me with a huge smile.
"So I guess I'm already a Clearwater then?" She winked at me. "Bella Clearwater Uley."
I couldn't contain my excitement at her statement. I leaned over and kissed her immediately until I heard my mom clear her throat causing me to pull back with heat crawling up into my cheeks.
"Sorry, Mom." I muttered.
"I didn't expect any less with that news, Seth." She laughed before turning to Bella. "Welcome to the family, Bella."
"Thank you, Sue." Bella responded happily as I smiled at the exchange.
"While it's hard for me to believe that my son already has a wife at 16 years old, I couldn't have asked for a better situation for him. An imprint is eternal. He has you always. That certainty gives me more peace of mind than anything." Mom said to us.
She was right. There would never be any uncertainty, no disloyalty, no distrust, no divorce. It truly was the best thing in the world.
"And I couldn't be happier." Bella told her.
"I know that you two are probably itching to tell Sam the news so I'll send you on your way with a pie to go." Mom told us before walking to the kitchen and grabbing a fresh apple pie (which totally made my mouth water).
"Thanks, Mom." I told her before we said our goodbyes and made our way back to Sam's.
A/N- I'm trying to get more content out, it's just taking me longer than it normally would. I don't want to pressure myself into writing more and have it come out horribly. I hope you guys understand.
