Another chapter is done thank you vakarns for one of the many requests and I'll definitely do another from you soon for now on with today's story
On a lovely quiet afternoon in the town called Nowhere, that's coincidentally in the middle of nowhere at a local dentist's office, we find the Bagge family, in the waiting room patiently waiting for Katy. Today was the day her parents had scheduled to have her wisdom teeth taken out, and it had been two hours since Katy had entered the dentist's office. While The grown-ups awaited patiently by reading a magazine or looking around the waiting room, Madeline and Courage played with a bead maze toy, passing the time until Katy was done.
Pretty soon we see a man dressed in bright blue clothes and a large white coat walk into the waiting room, looking at a clipboard, calling out "Bagge family" letting them know that the procedure was done and that the family was allowed to see Katy. The family follows the dentist to where Katy was, as they do the dentist would explain to the family about Katy's current mental situation, explaining "I can tell you it was not as easy as expected, it took about half a tank of anesthesia to knock her out" much to the families surprise. Gavin shows more concern than anyone and asks "how is she, doctor?" The dentist responds by explaining "I assure you she's fine, she'll just be experiencing the effects of the anesthesia for several days.
Gina approaches Katy gently nudging her to wake up, once the black-haired teen awakens very carefully, she starts to sit up she acts as if she had gotten off a ride. The notable difference Madeline notices from her apart from her pupils in her eyes randomly dilating from big to small was the fact her face was puffier than usual. once she notices her family all except Eustace with friendly faces, the first thing Katy says is "mommy daddy they're gone."
"What's gone dear?" Muriel asks with slight concern, Katy answers while swaying back and force "they're all gone, all of it gone see ya don't forget to write." Katy looking down at her younger sister afterward signals her to come closer so that she could whisper something to her. Once Madeline does this, Katy whispers, "one minute we're saving a whole planet from cows, then suddenly you find yourself sucking down air treats with Dora and Stacy." Sadly Maddie as well as the other family members could not understand anything she was talking about.
Once the family manages to get Katy in the truck, Eustace begrudgingly pays the dentist before the family makes their way back to the farmhouse. On the way see Courage, Madeline, Muriel, Gina, and Katy all on the truck bed everyone is paying close attention to Katy, who we see raise her foot complaining about how small it is. Gina simply tells Katy to put her foot down, while Katy starts looking at another part of her body.
Muriel watching her granddaughter's strange actions turns to Courage asking "do you think you and wee Maddie can keep the poor dear company until she returns to her senses Courage?" Courage obliges Muriel's request, and she responds by patting him on his head. Katy meanwhile, from her point of view sees the whole family surrounding her while the background is given a more psychedelic feel.
Suddenly, Katy notices that within the group was some sort of tanned man dressed in what appeared to be a futuristic white jumpsuit that appeared to look as if it was made of plastic, he also wore a propeller beanie style helmet on his head, the man also wore horn-rimmed glasses and what was also very notable about this man was the fact that he looked more hyper-realistic then everyone else. "Who is the spaceman sitting with us?" Asks Katy, who in reality was only looking at dead air. The family was slightly confused by what she had said. It would not be long before the family arrive at the Farmhouse, Gina, and Gavin then carefully bring Katy to her bedroom.
In the girl's bedroom, we see Kate now in sleepwear with some help from Gina before Courage and Maddie escort her to her bed. After laying her down, both Madeline and Courage decided to watch something on Katy's iPhone. Meanwhile, as Katy lies in bed before she knew it, the man from earlier appears flying in front of the teenager while dancing. "There's a man on the ceiling," Katy says. Sadly no one heard her and the strange man continued to dance until Gina calls Madeline for something, leaving Courage to get a little rest.
The hyper-realistic man then hops upon Katy's bed, and starts to wave "hello there!" Says the man excitedly before asking "you know I created him right?" Pointing to Courage, who was fast asleep Katy becomes confused by his question, and asks "you created Courage how?" While holding her head. The weird man before her completely blows off her question and says "I see your head hurts, let me make it all better" showing a bandaid he coincidentally pulled out from out of nowhere and placing it on her head.
Katy while slowly swaying her head, asks "are you even real?" The man responds stating with a smile "NO! I am Spaceman Dilly, and I come to your planet to try new things!" Confusing the loopy teen, even more, she repeats his name "your name is Spaceman Dilly?" Spaceman Dilly replies "I go by other names too, you can call me by the following" while presenting a name in lights out of nowhere while saying each one as followed:
"Spaceman Dilly"
"Silly Dilly"
"Dill"
"Dilly Dilly"
"Dilly"
"Dilly Wonka"
"John R. Dilworth"
"Dillman"
"Garlic Boy"
"The Silly Spaceman"
"SuperDill"
"That Guy"
"Freind"
"Super Amazing Daring Individual Suave Nice Incredibly Talented Dilly"
"And "Sam"
Fascinated with who this man was as well as the multiple names he has, Katy says to him "pretty names" the man who calls himself Spaceman Dilly says "not as pretty as you sweet lady, say can you stand on your head?" The loopy Katy replies excitedly "Can I!" as she proceeds to sit up from her bed and try to stand on her head.
By the time Courage wakes up, he starts to notice Katy standing on her head while on top of her bed with her shirt down, revealing white lacy underwear and more of her body than Courage did not need to see. He frantically rushes to Katy on the bed, then he carefully tries to lay her back down despite a small struggle, once she is back to lying in beg Courage straightened out her shirt covering back up her body, and using a clothes iron he conveniently pulls out of nowhere to straighten out her clothes further, next he attempts to securely place a blanket over her, then fluffing her pillow while conveniently pulling out a big book before reading her a story from it.
Unfortunately, looking back at Katy she is more occupied with looking at her hand commenting " my hand has two small butts in front of my fingers" Courage groans. Muriel along with Madeline enter the bedroom afterward to check on Katy "oh would ya look at that, Courage is comforting Katy such a good dog" says Muriel. Then approaching Katy's bedside, she places a tea tray on her nightstand and serves her a cup afterward, while Madeline sees Katy still putting up with the effects of anesthesia. "Grandma there's a sheep on your head," says Katy. Muriel giggles at this and says "no dear that's just my hair is all" Katy then asks her grandma "does grandpa have a sheep on his head?"
"No Dear" Muriel responds, she leaves afterward with the tea tray leaving a teacup for Katy, Madeline stays behind to watch her sister recover. Courage after a minute passes decides to do some research on the computer about Katy's condition, while Madeline decides to talk to her sister. "Katy, does it hurt to talk when the dentist took your teeth out?" Katy simply responded, "it isn't so bad we have extra company, Maddie I want you to meet Spaceman Dilly he's here in the room with us now."
What Madeline sees unfortunately is the bedroom and the only people in it where her big sister and herself "I don't see a spaceman Katy" through Katy's point of view however, Spaceman Dilly was indeed in the room standing in one solitary spot, waving to nobody in particular "Katy was it? Do you want to do something really fun?" Spaceman Dilly asks getting Katy's attention.
Courage is now on the computer typing in "how long does anesthesia last? The computer would give him various answers, stating How long anesthesia lasts depends on the type of treatment the patient endured, examples include: Nerve block treatment makes it lasts up to twenty-four hours, spinal blocks that last forty-eight hours, epidurals- before it even finished, Courage gets annoyed and retypes his question to "How long does anesthesia for teeth pulling last?"
The computer gives this answer used for the removal of wisdom teeth, the anesthesia lasts only up to three hours give or take. Courage was now relieved by this discovery he did not even care that the computer said the following to the cowardly dog: you twit!
Soon coming back to the girl's room, Courage goes to see Katy was not in bad and instead was seen attempting to walk out of the room and crawl right out the window. Courage out of shock tries to rush to her aid, sadly no matter what he did Katy continues to do what she does and climbs up to the roof of the farmhouse. He then notices Madeline nowhere in sight, before he hears a loud sneeze come from under the bed, Courage looks under only to find Madeline "aw man you ruined my good hiding spot" whined the child.
"What are you doing?" Asks Courage, Madeline gets out of the bed and explains "I'm playing hide and seek with Katy, she's it" Courage could not believe what he heard "did you already forget that she is still recovering from anesthesia?" Madeline simply shrugs, then he and Madeline hear Katy on the roof. Concerned for her safety, Courage tells Madeline that Katy needs help and that he needs Madeline's help to make sure she doesn't get hurt, Maddie says okay to this as the two follow after her to the roof.
The duo manages to catch up to the teen who we see manages to walk to the edge of the farmhouse roof. In her mind, Spaceman Dilly is beside her and says "your final mission space cadet: we will see if you can get six feet off the ground, do you accept?" Katy nods in agreement then as soon as Katy prepares to jump Courage and Madeline screams when he sees Katy doing so going to rescue her.
"I just want you to know, that you have always been in good hands," Spaceman Dilly says disappearing afterward right when Katy jumps off the roof with her hands spread out like airplane wings. She is now soaring above the drylands of the farmhouse with a smile on her face and her eyes closed to get the full feeling of the wind on her face. Then as soon as she opens them, Katy notices she was dangling off the farmhouse roof with Courage and Madeline grabbing her by her shirt, making sure she did not fall to her death.
Katy who had finally come to her senses, started to freak out about her situation, frantically asking "What's going on why am I on the roof hanging by my shirt, how did I get up here, and WHAT THE HECK JUST HAPPENED!"
After managing to safely get Katy out of harm's way, the trio returned to the bedroom where Madeline and Courage were telling the teen about things she regretfully said "how out of it was I?" Ask Katy, Courage would then ask her "what were you even thinking?" Katy responds "anesthesia makes people do crazy things Courage, but I'm just happy you two stuck it out at my craziest" side hugging them afterward.
Looking outside the farmhouse late that night, we see above the house Spaceman Dilly dancing as he did before. Then the unthinkable happens, as we see another Spaceman Dilly lift the image of the farmhouse and tell the readers "now that is silly!"
