Mystic Falls High School

He felt something in his heart that he hadn't experienced in quite a few centuries, apprehension. Ignoring the fact that he was so close to breaking the bloody curse his mother placed on his werewolf side, but if Elena was the reincarnation of the Tatia was burdening him with a conundrum to contend with.

Prior to his planned arrival to a high school dance as a chaperone, of all things they had successfully relocated to the house his brother had mentioned earlier. Before sending the compelled owner on a impromptu vacation to Las Vegas, Elijah had him invite everyone in their group to his home. Klaus could see the logic having the only owner out of state made it rather difficult for any of the Mystic Falls Gang to get a invite.

His witch Greta was off collecting his body along with the spell ingredients she would need for the soul merging spell. Maddox and Elijah were nearby to help him collect Elena. His warlock Maddox had even suggested that given the opportunity they dose her with a very mild sleeping potion sometime during the dance. Elijah had taken it further and recommended that if they made it difficult for anyone besides themselves to leave the school's premises.

While he was collecting her, his warlock and brother will finish their prep work, the boundary spell around the entire school, which should give them all enough time to escape unmolested.

Alaric/Klaus couldn't wait to have his true body back to see Elena Gilbert with his own eyes was something he yearned to experience. He slowed his pace into the school gymnasium as the possible connection to Tatia never far from his mind came on like a tidal wave. It physically hurt him to think that he would have to sacrifice the reincarnated woman of both his and Elijah's dreams. A dark part of him cursed Katerina for her betrayal, if she had died like she was supposed to Elena would've been safe. Would've they have encountered each other or would they passed each other unaware of each other's existence in the few short decades that mortals have on this world?

There had to be almost a sort of divine justification as the third Petrova Doppelgänger was born in the same place he and his sibling had lived over a thousand years ago. If Tatia's soul resides in Elena Gilbert, it was just another sign and that knowledge both elated and horrified him. His mother as well as the man he wanted so desperately to love him had turned their children into monsters, once more if what Elena had told him in Alaric's classroom were true then their mother had intentionally killed Tatia for more than just her blood.

Looking unobtrusively down at his phone, Alaric/Klaus managed not to smile when Greta text popped up.

GM: The package has been secured as well as the ingredients. We will be waiting for your return. The draught Maddox brewed shouldn't take very long for it to take effect.

Before he could type out a response, another text bubble popped up/

EM: Maddox has informed me the boundary spell is in place and will be triggered once you make your escape with Elena. Be forewarned that the barrier will only remain in place for roughly an hour, but that should be sufficient time for us to escape. Good luck brother.

"Nice outfit, Mr. Saltzman. Totally far out," a annoyingly familiar voice intruded into his thoughts, making him look up to find the girl he'd compelled earlier. Dana something, her last name at least to him scarcely mattered.

"Thank you, Dana. Thank you. Now who is your date?"

"It's Chad, Mr. Saltzman, from third period."

Alaric/Klaus considered his available options and having these two here now was a good as chance as any to get things rolling. Making eye contact with Dana and her date, he started to push his compulsion laced command into them.

"Chad, of course. How would you and your lovely date here as well as a few of your friends like to earn a little extra credit?"

After giving them their orders, Alaric/Klaus waited by pretending to chaperone. Or at least look like he cared what trouble a bunch of horny hormonal teenagers might get themselves into if he wasn't busy he would have compelled quite a number of young couples to throw caution to the wind and try to slate their teenage driven needs, without the silly need of protection.

His civic duty done for the night he made his way slowly through the throng of dancing teenagers for appearance's sake he separated a few of the more exhibitionist couples. He was a teacher, after all.

Finding Elena, his breath caught, but he smiled and heading straight towards them. His friend was dancing with his Doppelgänger and right next to them was the young Bennett witch and Elena's brother.

"Hey you two. Oh, you look nice," Elena smiled at Bonnie and Jeremy. Before she leaned in to a hug with her friend. Bonnie pulls back, giving Elena's outfit a appraising look.

"You too," Bonnie responded.

Alaric/Klaus watched the young witch and considered possible enticements for a Bennett witch to join his new world order, he's been envisioning for almost as long as he sought the means of finally breaking his mother's curse.

"You guys ready to do this?" Stefan said wearily. Alaric/Klaus grimaced inwardly at his friend was pale reflection of the Ripper he and his sister had come to appreciate as well as admire. In his peripheral vision, he watched as Damon was on his way over to join them, and then he suppressed a smile when Dana goes up onto the stage and leaned into the microphone.

"Thanks for being here, everybody. We have a special shout-out tonight." Dana said her gaze sweeping over the crowd as if in search of someone before locking onto Elena. As he expected, everyone stopped, whatever they were doing and shifted their attention to her. He was watching Elena.

"This is for Elena. From Klaus."

Fortunately he was facing way from Elena's friends when his music selection started playing over the sound system or else he would have trouble explaining away his obvious smile to opening verse of 'Dedicated to One I Love' he would have preferred a different song for her but he had to work with what was available.

"That was a lame, cheap shot. He's just trying to bait us," Damon scoffed, rolling his eyes.

"I know everyone here," Elena said looking around, Alaric/Klaus's hearing picked up the increase in the beat of her heart rate.

"Maybe he's not here. Just wants us to believe that he is," Stefan tried soothing her.

"It's a party, people. Blend. Let him come to us," Damon answered back.

Alaric/Klaus still listening made his way over to the table with the punch bowl and drinks, using his body to block anyone from seeing what he was doing he quickly added Maddox's sleeping draught. Pulling out a flask, he poured a little of the Bourbon into the cup, mixing it as he continued to eavesdrop on their conversation.

"There's Ric. I'll be right back." Damon said.

Suppressing a grin, he capped his flask back and picked up the doctored drink for Elena and another cup for himself. Then waited for Damon's approach.

"Special dedication, huh? This guy's a little twisted," Alaric/Klaus started.

"I'm not impressed."

"No?" Alaric/Klaus asked not attempting to hide his disappointment.

"Let me know if you see anything out of whack."

"Sure thing. Hey before you go give this to Elena Ive mixed a little of my Bourbon with it. If Klaus hears her heartbeat racing like it probably is, then he might suspect we've laid a trap for him."

Damon took the drink and sniffed its contents before smiling at his friend.

"Good thinking I give it to her before asking for dance."

As Damon made his way back to Stefan and Elena, he knew he had to implement his next phase of his plan. Making eye contact with Chad, he nodded his head towards the exit. His compelled minion and the two other youths he managed to compel would create the diversion he needed.

Twenty minutes later.

Alaric/Klaus stood in the empty hallway, waiting for Elena and Bonnie to head towards his ambush point. Maddox was nearby and waiting. If need be to momentarily neutralize the witch with a stun spell. The hushed but tense voices echoed in the hallway as the two humans approached.

"How could you not tell me?"

"Because I knew how'd you react," Bonnie answered.

"No. No way, it's not an option."

"It's our only option."

"Then we'll find another way, okay? Bonnie, you're not dying to save my life."

"I have the power to save you! If I don't use it and something happens, that would kill me more."

"I can't let you."

"Just answer one question… If the situation was reversed, would you do it for me?"

Alaric/Klaus waited patiently, shooting a short text to Elijah, he was about to spring the trap. Taking a deep breath then holding it in to simulate him being out of breath from running around in search of her and Bonnie.

"So you know why I have to," Bonnie continued.

"No. No! I-" Elena started but stopped, seeing him make his turn around the corner his wild with worry.

"Elena!" Alaric/Klaus breathed out, giving her a concerned look.

"What is it?" Elana asked her lower lip trembled ever so slightly.

"He has Jeremy."

"What?" Both Bonnie and Elena answered together, Elena swayed on her feet rubbing her forehead with her trembling hand.

"Yeah, Klaus has Jeremy. Come on," Alaric/Klaus elaborated, then frowned at Elena as she stumbled slightly.

"Elena?"

"I'm fine just feeling off, Come on let's find Jer." Elena said but stumbled into Alaric/Klaus's arms.

"Whoa there are you alright?" Alaric/Klaus asked.

"Elena? What's wrong?"

Elena groaned as she turned a little green.

"Look Bonnie go find what is going on, I'm getting Elena out of here. If anyone asks I'm taking her back to the Boarding House where she's safe."

Bonnie seemed to want to say something but after looking her teacher in his eye she nodded and ran back towards where the dance was in full swing. Picking Elena up in a Bridal Carry, he thumbed the preloaded text he had waiting.

KM: Precious cargo acquired on my way out get ready to spring the final trap.
