Ki Master
Chapter 15
Author Notes: Before I forget and before I get reviews stating that the info stated in this chapter for Blue Exorcist is wrong...i want to remind you all that 1-I didn't finish the manga/watch the anime. And 2-this is my own story so there are intentional changes to the world/lore of the series.
Sorry if i'm sounding defensive or rude in this AN. But i just wanted to point this out because i've gotten comments in previous stories where I got chewed out for screwing up the canon stuff or not being accurate even though it was purposely done.
I don't mind if people point out their opinions on the differences so long as they're talking about their feelings of the changes and how they feel it would impact the story/characters.
I love doing chats with people when it comes to au's and headcanons...But one too many times i got sad/salty because someone didn't like my story or thought I was dumb for 'making mistakes.' or 'not remembering correctly.'
I figured this chapter would be the one where I'm most likely to get heat...Ahem. Again sorry for this, ok *deep breath* here we go. I can do this...I do not own Blue Exorcist. I hope you enjoy the story!
3rd P.O.V
After hearing the blood curdling scream the two boys were expecting a fight. Regardless of who or what was awaiting them they were more than eager to take out their frustrations on whatever poor soul thought to cause trouble.
But taking three steps into the room, Rin and Yukio found themselves wearing identical expressions at the scene before them. "I swear to the deities of life I am going to shove a Ki-knife up your pompous, irritating ass!"
Ming Xia was being held back by Shiro while Mephesto was on the opposing side of the room, in a safe little shield. "Now now my dear, there's no need for such hostility. Things turned out well yes?" His response was a deep, demonic growl as she lunged again.
Only to be pulled back once more. "Calm yourself! Going berserk in here will do no good!" The last thing the Order needed was to get hearings of a demon battle royal at his monastery. Just the thought of an investigation full of paperwork made him ill.
"Get over here Samael! Your Paladin friend won't be able to protect you forever!" What the twins first noticed was Ming Xia's appearance. She was back to her human form, no tails or ears to be found. But her demonic energy was still there.
Growing the more angry she becomes. "Why are you getting so mad at me!? I was only trying to help." And with both elder men before her...that rage seems to skyrocket. Like a rubber band her patience snapped with no way of it getting fixed anytime soon.
Fifteen or so years was most certainly not enough time for her when it came to dealing with these two. "Bullshit! Because of you my house is in shambles! You nearly got my son killed! And that's after trying to pull him into your damn mind games."
Ohhh she was ready to tear him limb from bloody limb. She KNEW he was involved somehow with this little predicament. Especially after her little chat with Rin. This damn demon was trying to manipulate them and she was NOT having it.
"You brought that wretched tengu into my territory! And now you expect me to play teacher at your school!?" Yukio saw his brother wince, and he couldn't blame him for it. There was so much harsh demonic pressure from her powers.
It was suffocating, on top of the sheer malice radiating off her form. He'd probably be doing the same thing if it was Father Fujimoto so angry. "Killing him won't fix things." With little effort the huli-jing pushed him away sending him a seething glare as well.
He was no saint. "That's rich coming from you Priest. You kill my kind every day, your son and church companions slaughter dozens of demons. How many of them were wicked souls doing harm? How many were like me and Rin? Fifteen years ago you tried to kill Rin and Yukio!"
That final statement left the teens' blood run cold. "What?" At the gasping voices, all three adults found themselves turn. Yukio was as pale as a ghost, completely hurt from the statement. "Is-Mom...is that true?" Rin licked his lips, nervous as he kept glancing between his sibling and them.
As much as it sucked, he could understand why he had been a potential target for the old man. Afterall if what his mom said was true, he was literally coated in blue fire as a baby. Half demon or not-anyone in their right mind would panic. Would be afraid of what he was.
But Yukio? Despite his bloodline he had no trace of demonic energy, no additional appendages...he was Human! Even worse the man who raised him apparently was going to kill him? This didn't make any sense to him at all.
"It's not my story to tell Rin." As stunned as she was with their presence, she found herself regaining composure. If for nothing else then to try and diffuse the situation before it explodes anymore than it already has. Curse her damn mouth.
Once again it's made quite the bit of trouble as what was already a stressful situation became ten times worse. Though at least she didn't mean for either boy to hear it, still...she had to do damage control. She makes sure to stare Yukio in the eye as she speaks.
Making sure his attention is completely on her. "I am far more willing to tell my share of events, however I will not speak of something that had nothing to do of my involvement. Still...as much as I loath what I've learned hear him out."
Her mouth twisted in distaste. "Priest. You owe it to these boys to explain your side of the story. Shadows in the dark only grow in strength when left to fester." At that statement Shiro seemed to age ten years as he grimaced.
He wanted to refuse. Stating that none of them were ready for such a conversation, but that was a total lie. There was no denying the fact that Ming Xia was right, as much as he wished the past wasn't what it was, it happened.
Yukio furrowed his brows in concern as he stared at his father figure who looked tired, solemn when he nods his head. "You're absolutely correct. Especially now that they've been reunited. They may be our kids, but they're old enough to handle it."
Satisfied Ming Xia nods to herself. The tension was still suffocating the atmosphere, but with her calm, the demonic pressure lightened. Making it easier to breathe and it even helped with easing the scornful bitterness in Yukio.
Taking a shaky breath he steps forward, picking up a chair that had(once more) been flown across the floor. Sitting in it while crossing his arms. Scratching his head with a sigh, Rin follows suit, albeit less gracefully. Choosing to slump in his seat, both of their gazes firm and waiting.
"Any day old man." The two adopted parents make a grin at Rin's nonchalance, further lessening the tension. "Well then. If that is the case then it seems like my presence is no longer needed here. I'll just be-" Before he could finish his statement and make his grand exit, he was stopped.
Though she kept her voice lowered, everyone was still able to easily hear her. "I don't think so Samael...I do believe we're also Long due for a chat of our own." Her hand was on his shoulder. Eyes blazing a soft glow.
Her magic was on the surface of her fingers, ready to strike should he continue trying to flee. "So we are my dear. But-i'm afraid now's not a good time for me. As I have another appointment." She didn't buy his lie for an instant.
Eyes narrowed as her grip tightened to the point where he winced in discomfort. There was no way she was going to let things end like this. No she was situating this right here and now! "I don't believe i'm giving you a choice in the matter. Consider your 'appointment' canceled."
A flash of light surrounded the pair, leaving the remaining three blinking from the intense brightness. "Remind me to never make your mom mad Rin..." A toothy grin was flashed as the elder twin answered with a small chuckle.
"Noted~ Alright old man. Now it's your turn. What happened when we were born fifteen years ago?" Right now Shiro wasn't sure if he should be thankful or hating Ming Xia for giving him privacy. He could feel the familiar pull from Satan as he looked at the boys sitting before them.
They stared at him, their gazes strong and unwavering. "Please...dad. I need to know." He wondered for a moment...would their lives be easier if things played out differently then what had occurred? He wasn't really one for philosophy and what if scenarios.
But...it seemed that the road these boys would be forced to undergo would not be simple or peaceful in the slightest. "Where do you want me to start? If you say the beginning well...it's a bit of a mess." Time has made his memory hazy, though certain details stuck.
However even with his involvement in the events of their birth, there were still secrets that he didn't know. "Did you know our birth mother?" Well there was a question he could answer. It was simple enough, a very good start for him to actually get to talking about this.
"I did. We were friends. Both of us taught at Mephesto's cram school for Exorcists. Her name was Yuri Egin and she was an incredible tamer. She was a pure soul who thought there was more to demons than meets the eye. That they were more than monsters that attacked humans."
It was a belief that to this day Shiro couldn't say he believed one-hundred percent. He thought there were exceptions...but he couldn't fully understand her compassion. But Rin could-it was the same ideals Ming Xia and her late husband followed.
He imagined that had Yuri survived, the two women would've made great friends. Meanwhile, Yukio was struggling. Everything Shiro had taught him seemed like the complete opposite of his birth mother's thoughts on life. Why would he disregard her principals like that?
"I'm not going to say that she was entirely wrong for thinking that. But i'm not going to lie-she and I didn't always see eye to eye on things. Demons was our typical topic for arguments. I wasn't as trusting as she was, and took every demon that approached me with caution and a weapon in hand."
She was a pacifist through and through. There were many occasions when on missions she would investigate solo, not wanting to follow the cruel nature of an exorcist. The violent methods that were so readily taught. He didn't think it was smart of her behalf at all...but he still respected her for sticking to her guns.
Though that changed fifteen years ago. After she died, that compassion and merciful philosophy was completely lost to the Paladin. "I don't know exactly when or how, but at some point she had been interacting with a demon. One so powerful that it endangered her life." Rin knew what was coming next.
His body instinctually stiffened, something Yukio immediately took note of. "Who was it...our birth father?" Fujimoto nodded, allowing what information he told to sink in before starting on the major bombshells.
To be continued
Author Notes: Ok so this chapter has to end now. I just went on a typing binge not aware that a solid hour went by and the chapter wasn't even done but the word limit was already long broken lol. So this is getting divided lest the editing/formatting kills me.
Next chapter will be a straight on continuation of this. I'm sincerely hope that you guys are enjoying this and that i'm not adding in too much information. Though I did say that i'm throwing out some canon stuff and lore...
Hmm...problems for another day to think about as it's late into the night. Everyone thank you all so much for reading this story. If you like it please feel free to fav/follow/review as it would mean a lot to me to see the support~ Tchao for now!
