Simon Once Said
The nights of Paris were often the scene of romantic dates and fun nightlife, but in some parts it was the most silent. This silence was often used to transport undesirables of the community. The moonlight was plain to see with little clouds in the sky and no fog.
The sound of tires and a motor driving down the road outside of Paris echoed through the night. It was the only vehicle driving down the road to keep the prisoners from being broken out by known associates or from making an escape attempt of their own.
The prison bus was transporting some of their more notorious prisoners to a different prison. Inside the black bus the passengers consisted of bank robbers, murderers, blackmailers, mobsters and bubble gum thieves. The sound of light music was being blasted by the speakers, the mayor's latest idea of reforming criminals.
The inmates were all handcuffed to their seats as the guards kept an eye on them. However, amongst all the inmates, one kept to himself. The man had pale skin, curly brown hair combed backwards, and a sneaky glint in his eyes as he looked down to the floor. But everyone in the bus knew that he was a predator.
His eyes were kept on the guard as he made his rounds. He waited for the guard to walk past him to make his move. He sneezed into his hands, not getting more than a look from the guard. As the guard walked away, the inmate smiled as he pulled out a plain white card from the inside of his coat. He hid it in his hand as the guard stood watch by the backdoor entrance of the bus. The inmate flicked the card at the guard, causing it to stick to the guard's pants.
The guard's eyes went blank as he stiffened up like a member of the living dead.
"Simon says, unlock the handcuffs." The man whispered.
The guard walked up to the inmate with the keys in hand. He unlocked the inmate's handcuffs, freeing him. Just as the bus was about to enter a long dark tunnel, the inmate smiled.
"Thank you, sir." The inmate said, taking the gun from the guard's belt along with his card.
The bus drove out of the long tunnel, nothing seemed out of place at the first glance. But at the very back of the bus there was a guard wearing an inmate's jumpsuit and handcuffed to the seat. On his forehead was a card with something written on it.
'Simon Says, kill the Bee.'
A new day began in the city of Paris, a new day of adventure and excitement for the members of the Parisian community.
At that moment, Izuku and Mina were doing their patrol rounds, driving down the streets of Paris. Izuku was going over his notepad to see which parts of the city they had yet to look at while Mina was looking for a radio station to listen to. Despite their work in solving the Polnareff case, Captaine Kendo kept them in their standard duties. They were currently stuck on a red light with nothing out of the ordinary happening.
"Come on, come on, come on. Where are all the music stations?" Mina grunted.
"Maybe you should wait for the commercials to pass so you can hear the news." Izuku suggested.
"But they take forever! And when they do end and the music begins, it quickly goes back to commercials." Mina retorted. "C'est le pire. The worst I tell you."
Izuku smiled with compassion at his partner. He then thought of a way to help her get out of the boredom that she was going through. He reached into his bag and pulled out a worn out notebook.
"If you want to stave off being bored, I could help you with that, Mina." Izuku offered.
A sneaky smile grew on Mina's face, much like the one a cat would grow if they'd offer fresh all fish sushi.
"Oh, Izuku I didn't know you could be so bold in broad daylight no less." Mina said, fluttering her eyelids at her partner.
Izuku's face resembled a large tomato with his green hair and deep blush. He figured that the tone of Mina's response meant that she took what he said as an invitation to something else.
"W-W-W-wait up, Mina! I didn't mean it like that!" Izuku replied, holding his hands up, pleading his innocence. "I was just suggesting we talk about anything! I swear!"
Mina laughed as though she had just invented the first joke.
"Y-you are way too easy to tease, partner. I feel jealous about the woman that will eventually marry you." Mina said, wiping a tear of laughter from her face. "But sure, what do you want to talk about?" She asked just as the light turned green.
Izuku let out a sigh of relief. He would've prayed for something to change the subject.
"Well, what are your plans for the weekend?" Izuku asked.
"Boring! You know I'm planning to hit the dance floor as soon as we finish our reports." Mina replied with a smile. "I'm more interested in your social life outside of work. Come on, tell me!"
Mina gave Izuku a stare that only puppies and kittens could use. His defenses were nearly destroyed upon looking into her eyes.
"Well, um, I do have some friends I hang out with from time to time. They are sometimes busy with work so I don't see him often. I also have a few places I like to go and well-" Izuku began, hoping to not get too personal.
Just then the radio came to life.
"...Allo, allo, any available units in the facility of Rue Lepic. There's a disturbance with a pair of restless youths causing some problems. Suspects do not appear to be armed but caution is recommended…"
Izuku picked up the radio and responded.
"Officers Midoriya and Ashio heading towards the disturbance." Izuku said.
"Heck yeah! Some action!" Mina said, stepping the accelerator.
Izuku was thrown back by the shock of the speed boost, letting go of the radio.
"...Acknowledged... Better send the paramedics then…"
Mina drove at top speed, cutting through the backstreets like a bloodhound in search of a delicious bone. She gripped the steering wheel like a professional car driver in the middle of a race. Whenever she got like that there was some form of tranquility in her mind. It was as though she was at peace and setting off on an adventure. She spun the wheel in a swift movement, causing Alien Queen to drift right into the space between two other cars.
"There we go, and in record time!" Mina said, putting Alien Queen in Park.
"Y-yeah." Izuku groaned, grabbing hold of his hat. "Although, next time maybe we could not play tennis with my kidneys."
"You just gotta learn how to slide with the ride, partner. Now, let's see who are the troublemakers that are making a scene." Mina said, putting on her officer's hat.
The Rue Lepic was an old street with old businesses that decorated the street. However, as time went on more and more businesses focused on the propaganda of the older Parisian life. This was the best place for tourists to see the old days being brought back to the present. One could find the classic cafés sitting right next to a cheese shop and a candle shop. This much and more could be seen in the famous street away from the bustling of the rest of Paris.
However, there was a shop that wasn't having such a nostalgic time.
"Stay down!"
"No one move or we will shoot you all!"
Inside a wine store, two men held a pair of guns in their hands, keeping the people inside the store in a robbery. However, the two men had just walked in and started holding up people at gunpoint. They had been causing a lot of noise, and all those inside weren't taking any chances.
Izuku and Mina snuck towards the entrance of the shop. They were observing the situation with some curiosity. Neither of the two assailants were making any demands nor going towards the register for the money.
"What's up with those two?" Mina asked. "They look like actors rehearsing a scene and don't move from it."
"You're right about that. I've got an idea." Izuku said, spotting a jacket on a nearby table. "Cover me when I give you the signal."
Izuku took off his uniform's jacket and hat before putting on the normal green jacket. He stuffed his service weapon behind his pants before he went inside. He slowly made his way inside the store, trying not to sneak up on the two men. He used this chance to observe the two young men that were holding up the store.
They were both wearing casual clothes. One had a blue polo shirt and jeans with a black jacket, while the other one wore a green t-shirt with a snake on it and torn pants with the union jack flag on the knees.
"Um, excuse me, sirs." Izuku said as calmly as he could.
"Who are you supposed to be, govner?" one of the men asked with a heavy British accent.
The accent raised Izuku's suspicions.
"I-I just came for a bottle of wine." Izuku lied as they aimed their guns at him. "That one."
Izuku pointed to a random bottle of wine behind the two men.
"Alright, log off the bottle and then get down with the rest of the lot." the second one said with an equally heavy accent, gesturing with his gun.
"I'm sorry but I don't understand what you're saying. I'm not at all caught up with British lingo. Could you please speak with real words?" Izuku asked.
"Do what he said you bastard." the first one said.
That comment wasn't appreciated by Mina, who prepared her gun and acid to melt down the assailants if she needed to.
"Now, listen here young man. There is no need for profanities here." Izuku said.
The two robbers aimed both of their guns at Izuku. He slowly moved around them, making sure that their pistols were all trained on him. He observed that their guns weren't even properly held. Anyone could grab them out of their hands with the right swipe of his hand.
"Go on!" the first one said, shaking the gun.
"Alright, alright, no need to get jumpy." Izuku said, reaching for the bottle of wine without turning his back on the men aiming at him. "So, what's next? Take the money and run?"
The two men were stopped in their tracks. The question made them feel stupefied.
"Freeze! Police!" Mina called out, rushing into the store.
The two robbers turned their heads away from Izuku, giving him a chance to make his move.
Izuku smacked the two robbers in the back of their heads with the wine bottle.
They both fell to the ground, dropping their guns.
Mina and Izuku quickly picked them up before they could grab them once more.
"That was easy." Mina said. "You okay, partner?"
"I am." Izuku replied before his eyes landed on two cards.
He saw that two cards had fallen off of the two criminals. He picked them up and saw that there was something written on them.
'Simon Says, hold a shop hostage.'
Izuku narrowed his eyes at the cards in curiosity. Just then he heard the two criminals began to groan.
"Ow, bloody hell wut happened."
"I dun't know mate. That wine thingy must've scrambled our brains."
"You two are under arrest, mates." Mina said, as Izuku helped them up with a pair of handcuffs.
"What?" they both asked. "What for? We haven't done anything."
"Right, and I suppose that these are toy guns." Izuku gestured to the two guns he's gotten from them.
However, as Izuku was gesturing the two guns, they went off. He turned to where the guns had fired and saw that two bottles of wine had been shattered.
"I hope those weren't expensive." Mina muttered, causing Izuku to shudder at the thought.
After five minutes passed, two squad cars arrived at the scene taking the two criminals still swearing that they didn't have any idea of what had happened.
Izuku and Mina watched as they were shoved into the cars as Izuku observed the cards they had on them. He'd already changed back into his uniform but his doubts still lingered.
"Another job well done, right Izuku?" Mina asked.
"Oh, yeah, I guess it was." Izuku replied, shifting out of his thoughts. "But something doesn't feel right about all this."
"Is that feeling shared by the rest of the police force?" a seductive and sassy voice asked.
Izuku and Mina turned around and saw the face of their friend and constant tease, Alya Cesaire.
She had hot caramel skin with a beauty mark on top of her right eyebrow, flowing hair that looks like fire and past her shoulder, with cute fox ears and that tail swinging along her well proportioned rear that's only matched by her well endowed chest. Her hourglass figure was further emphasised by her light grey jacket, purple and orange plaid shirt on top of a white undershirt, tight blue sky jeans, and white shoes. On her face was a sneaky look about her, poorly hidden behind a pair of slightly crooked glasses.
"So, Officers Midoryia and Ashido, do you have anything to say for the Lady News Paper?" Alya asked in her usual manner, twitching her fox ears in search of a good story. "I promise to make you both look good."
"Oh, will you now?" Mina asked.
"Hello, Alya. You know we can't tell you much about what has happened." Izuku said.
"Come on, please. I'll make it up to you two. I'll even pay for the wine bottles you two broke." Alya retorted, getting in Izuku's and Mina's personal space.
She spoke with a mischievous tone to her, the kind of tone that was reserved for those of a close bond or relationship. Alya was very much like the animal that her Miraculous was linked to. A cunning vixen that knew how to make people blush with only a few well placed words. Izuku wasn't one to believe in past lives, but the way that Alya spoke to him and Mina was special. The type of special that was reserved for lovers from a past life of husband and wife.
"No no, there's no need to do so, Alya. You'll have to sniff for clues elsewhere." Mina said. "We can't make everything easy for you."
"I promise to make it up to the two of you. I can think of a couple of ways~." Alya said, fluttering her eyelids.
"Sorry Alya, I know I promised to give you a scoop for the favor I asked you," Izuku began, getting between Alya and Mina. "But we have to find out what is going on-"
Alya caught sight of the cards in his hands and read what was written although it was upside down.
"Alright, but you guys owe me. I'll figure out who Simon is and why he wants to kill a bee." Alya said.
Izuku pulled back the cards out of sight.
"See you guys later." Alya said, winking at the two officers.
Both officers kept their eyes on the journalist as she walked away, knowing that Alya got more than enough to get a headstart.
"I can't tell if she's flirting with me or you." Mina muttered with a light blush.
"I think that she was flirting with both of us." Izuku replied, blushing as well.
"I don't blame her." Mina added. "We are a couple of knock outs." She added, doing a victory pose.
Izuku and Mina made their way back to Police Headquarters hoping to get answers to the strange actions of the two men. As soon as they arrived, Captain Kendo and Detective Noamasa asked them to file a report on what had happened. As they wrote down the paperwork, Izuku focused on the cards that the two men were caught with. There was something odd about them and he couldn't shake the feeling that the name sounded familiar to the young officer.
"And done!" Mina said. "Man, that report was the easiest I've ever had to do in my life. So what's next, partner? You wanna go grab something to eat?"
Izuku tapped his chin trying to figure out where he had read what was written in both cards.
"Maybe I read it in the newspaper somewhere, or maybe they said something about it in the news. Could I be overthinking it and just be thinking about the game that kids play? No, this can't be a coincidence. They appear to be handwritten, but I don't think either of them wrote them." Izuku muttered to himself.
Mina saw that her partner was deep in thought. She hated it when he got so deep in thought that she ignored her. She thought it adorable from time to time but it wasn't going to get her out of the office any time soon. Mina grabbed a spare piece of paper, turning into a ball before throwing it at Izuku's head.
Izuku snapped out of his muttering trance before he turned over to Mina.
"Oh, sorry Mina. I guess I was mumbling to myself." Izuku said, scratching his head.
"Don't mention it, Izuku. As adorable as it is, we need to keep up with our day." Mina said, getting up from her desk. "I was thinking of trying out that new burger place. I think it's called B & B Burger."
"I still don't get why they chose that name. What are the other two b's meant to stand for?" Izuku asked. "Burger and Burger Burger?"
"You've got no imagination, Izuku." Mina giggled as Izuku got up from his desk.
Just as Izuku was putting on his jacket, Noamasa walked into the room.
"Midoriya, Ashido. Come with me." Noamasa said, gesturing them to come with him. "The captain wants you two to go to the interrogation room."
"Is there something wrong?" Izuku asked.
"They are full of more questions than us. Come see." Noamasa said.
Mina let out a groan.
"What's up with those guys?" Mina asked as her and Izuku followed after Noamasa.
"I actually want to ask them a couple of questions." Izuku muttered.
The two officers followed the detective down to the interrogation room. They walked into the room behind the one way mirror, where Captain Kendo waited for them.
"Bonjour captaine." Noamasa said.
"Bonjour Noamasa, Midoriya, Ashido," Kendo said. "Thank you for coming. I was hoping that you two could fill in some blanks."
"What seems to be the problem, Captain Kendo?" Izuku asked.
"They appear to be uncooperative. They don't even know why they are here." Captain Kendo explained, gesturing to the two men in the other room.
Both of the criminals were held in the same room, handcuffed to the table.
"I want to see if you two can jog their memories." Captain Kendo said. "Allez make sense of this if you can."
"Oui capitaine!" Izuku and Mina said, giving their captain a salute.
"Could we do good cop and bad cop?" Mina asked, getting Kendo to let out a sigh.
Izuku and Mina walked into the room with the cards in an evidence bag and a notepad.
"I'm Officer Izuku Midoriya and this is my partner Officer Mina Ashido. I take it that you both don't know why you've been brought here." Izuku said. "Despite being caught redhanded at the scene of a crime."
"I swear mate, we don't know what the bloody hell happened." the first one said.
"We were drinking some wine and then the next thing we knew we were being arrested. We're from London, we came here on holiday." the second one added.
Mina slammed her hand on the table, getting them to jump back.
"Well that's a likely story, because I remember you guys going all gun crazy with a bunch of people in that shop, including my partner. Start singing before I go get the machine." Mina said in a threatening manner. "You don't want us to bring out the machine."
Izuku was just as shocked by the way that Mina was at playing bad cop.
"Um, I could get you something to drink if you want. Some coffee or some tea?" Izuku offered.
"What you could get us is a way out of this place, mate." the second one replied.
"And I will, but first I need you to answer a few questions. Bien?" Izuku asked. "What's the last thing that you remember before we arrested you? Did you see anything or hear anything?"
"Well, I don't know." the first one replied. "It all seemed normal. We were drinking this wine and the guy next to us was talking about something."
"He kept saying something about how he'd make her pay. He turned to us and pulled out two cards from his sleeves." the second one added.
That caught the attention of Izuku.
"You mean these ones?" Izuku asked, showing them the cards that fell from them.
"I think so." the second one replied. "Then I heard that we had to hold the store hostage."
Izuku looked down at the cards with curiosity. Just then a thought crossed his mind.
"You good there, partner?" Mina asked.
"Yes. Please tell me what you heard? Word for word." Izuku said.
"I think the voice said… Simon Says: hold the shop hostage." the first one recalled.
"Aye, that's what I heard too." the second one replied.
"Simon says? Like the game?" Mina asked.
"Or someone that controls the minds of others by saying Simon says and uses cards?" Izuku muttered, causing the memory to click in his mind. "That's it!"
"Midoriya, Ashido, step out. Now!" Kendo said through the comms. "Let them go."
After letting the two men leave the station, Izuku and Mina were taken to the office of Captain Kendo. There she handed them a file for them to look at.
Izuku opened the file and it showed the picture of a pale man with combed back curly brown hair, sinister blue eyes wearing a prison uniform and mugshot.
"Wow, that guy looks a bit crazy." Mina said, looking at the picture.
"His name is Simon Grimault, aka Simon Says. He used to be a hitman for the Le Blue family." Kendo explained.
"He had a hypnotism Miraculous called Card Command. He used that power to take out targets for the Le Blue family. His commands were as vicious as they were effective. I remember reading about him just before I started in the force." Izuku said, showing Mina the file.
"That's right. Three years ago he was sentenced to prison after being caught by a hero." Kendo continued.
"We got a report that while he and other inmates were being transferred last night, Simon Grimault managed to hypnotize one of the guards into letting him free with his gun. By the time they arrived, the guard was handcuffed and a card was stuck to his forehead." Noamasa explained. "It read 'Simon Says, kill the bee'."
Izuku looked at the cards once more. These were the tools of an assassin and a dangerous one looking for revenge. He could almost feel the hatred in which he wrote down those words.
"Why would he want to kill bees? Doesn't he like honey?" Mina asked.
"It's because the hero that caught him has a bee theme, actually." Kendo replied.
Izuku stood up as the moment made sense.
"The two tourists were bait! They were meant to cause a ruckus to draw out the bee hero!" Izuku explained, walking towards the window. "That means that he'll try again to get their attention, putting more people in danger. We have to catch him." He added, putting his hand on the globe of the office.
This caused the globe to spin, bringing Izuku to the ground.
"I couldn't have said it better myself, Midoriya." Kendo said while Mina and Noamasa helped Izuku back to his feet. "We already have the department on alert for Grimault. But we need to find the hero and keep them safe from him. Noamasa, take Midoriya and Ashido and find her. I want you three to be her detail until he's caught."
"Oui mon capitaine!" Noamasa and Mina said, giving Kendo a salute, dropping Izuku on the floor once more.
Izuku lifted his hand, giving Kendo a salute from the ground.
"Get him off the floor." Kendo sighed.
Izuku, Mina and Noamasa took to the streets with Alien Queen in the search for the hero that captured Simon Says. While in the car, Izuku kept his eyes on the file, hoping to find any other clues as to the whereabouts of the mob assassin. As well as hoping to find any key points for his Miraculous' weakness.
"So, who's the lucky hero that's being protected by the Dynamic Duo?" Mina asked.
Noamasa cleared his throat, reminding her that he was there as well.
"...Oh, sorry sir. Protected by Detective Noamasa and the Dynamic Duo." Mina rephrased with a small sweat drop on her face.
"That's better." Noamasa said, jokingly.
Izuku chuckled, looking away from the file.
"According to the file, the hero that captured Simon Says was a hero by the name of... Queen Bee?" Izuku asked. "I didn't know that she dealt with organized crime. From the information that I gathered, I thought she'd be trying to get more into the spotlight than taking out members of the mob."
"I didn't peg you for a fan of Queen Bee, Izuku." Noamasa said.
"Yeah, I thought your favorite hero would be someone like Freezerburn or Ingenium or Turtle Sentry since he is green." Mina added.
"I'm a fan of all heroes, new and old. I may not agree with some of them and how they sometimes do things. But I try to keep up to date with my knowledge of them." Izuku explained. "Queen Bee not being the exception. Though it puzzles me how she managed to defeat Simon Says. Her agency's office should be in the next street, look for a yellow, almost glittery building with a big bee motif."
Mina drove up to where Izuku pointed to. She then pulled up on a parking spot at the very entrance. One look and she had to admit that Izuku's description didn't make the place justice. She could only describe it in one word: tacky.
The Queen Bee agency office was situated in a five story building that had been painted completely honey yellow. It was three floors taller than the other buildings around it as well as standing out from the other plain and pleasing buildings. The doors, and glasses of the windows were all made in the shapes of a honeycomb that reflected the light of the sun with blinding accuracy. If there were any giant bees flying around they would've mistaken the building for a colony that they could inhabit. The entrance had a big sign of the agency with the picture of the hero herself posing like a swimsuit model. Tacky wasn't the right word to summarize the type of building that was before the three officers.
"Well, she does like to stand out." Noamasa said. "No way to miss this monster."
"Yeah, this is a sure fire way of getting noticed." Mina muttered.
"Being useful is left more to a mystery." Izuku added.
"Let's go in and see the queen." Noamasa said, walking to the entrance.
"Right." Izuku and Mina replied.
The three officers entered the building and were struck by the scent of different flowers, as though they'd just entered the perfume aisle.
The receptionist sat down on her desk as pictures of Queen Bee's different products and heroic acts were displayed on different screens. She looked tired and wanted nothing but a reason to get out of that office.
"Um, excuse me. Detective Noamasa, these are officers Midoriya and Ashido. We're here to talk to your boss." Noamasa explained as they all showed their badges.
"Do you have an appointment?" the receptionist asked.
"Um, no. But it is important that we see her." Noamasa assured.
"If you don't have an appointment you cannot see Queen Bee." the receptionist stated.
Izuku then thought of an idea. He whispered it to Mina causing her to giggle before giving him a thumbs up.
"Actually, we're here to discuss your employer's special transportation for the Hero Leaderboard Event next week." Mina said, getting a confused look from Noamasa and a look of relief from the receptionist.
"Thank goodness you've come." the receptionist sighed. "Merci mademoiselle et messieurs. You have no idea how much Queen Bee has been pestering everyone in the building for an answer on that. Please, go ahead. She should be in her office on the fifth floor."
"Don't worry, mon chéri. We'll take care of this no problem." Mina said.
Noamasa looked over to Izuku, who gave him a thumbs up.
The three officers made their way to the elevator.
"I didn't know that we were going to give Queen Bee an escort for the Hero Leaderboard Event." Noamasa said. "I don't think the captain agreed to it."
"But they don't know that." Mina countered.
"If they ask, we can say that there was an error in planning and that we won't be able to make it." Izuku suggested.
"Alright." Noamasa relentingly said. "But don't do that again. Not without telling me at least."
"Yes, sir." both Izuku and Mina replied.
Izuku, Mina and Naomasa arrived at the office of the hero that ran the agency.
Despite the high quality building with several workers that worked around the clock in the agency of Queen Bee, there was something that made the officers feel goosebumps.
"What do you mean that you won't be able to make the delivery!? I need to wear a much brighter dress that goes with my fabulous sun hat for the event! Get to work unless you want me to take my business elsewhere!"
The sound of a phone being thrown and shattering against a wall rang through the office.
That was the classic attitude of the hero and leader of the agency, Chloe Bourgeois aka Queen Bee, the sixth hero in the top ten and the daughter of the mayor Andre Bourgeois.
She had lightly tanned skin, clear blue eyes and a long head of golden hair tied in a high ponytail. She looked like the stereotypical rich girl and behaved like one. She wore a yellow and black costume. Her arms were black from the middle of the arm until the fingers which were yellow. She had golden bracelets on each forearm with engraved bee stingers on them. Her legs were mostly black with upside down V-shaped marks resembling bee stripes and yellow soles on her feet. Her chest had a black corset that also shared the yellow bee V-marks. Two bee wings were neatly folded on her back, almost invisible to the eye. Her face was barely covered by a black domino mask and on top of her head was a golden crown to tie it all together.
There were many things that could be said about Queen Bee. Some said that her position was bought by her father and her legions of groupies. While others mentioned her crazy taste for attention and her devastatingly effective Miraculous. Loved her or hated her, Queen Bee had made it to the top ten heroes and she was aiming for the top.
...Given that the members of the top 10 could stand her tendencies.
"Jean-Louis, get me my smoothie. And get Sabrina to pick up the pace with those new photoshoot schedules. The new Queen fragrance perfume needs to hit the market before the beginning of Spring." Queen Bee ranted on. "I swear that those reviews were made by drones. It wasn't my fault that the fragrance was too strong for those with no taste. Private assistant, my foot."
The three officers of the law were unsure of what to do. They felt the need to get as far away from the ranting diva. But they were also being forced to uphold the orders of their captain.
Noamasa was the brave one to step forward. He cleared his throat, getting the attention of the number six hero.
"Oh, finally. The dance cops for my single. You sure you can dance? The pink one looks like she could dance. But we will need to get you out of those too realistic costumes." Queen Bee said.
"Actually, Ms. Bourgeois we are real cops." Noamasa said, showing his badge and identification. "I'm Detective Noamasa and these are Officer Midoryia and Ashido. We have some news that we'd like to share with you. In private, if you don't mind."
"But I am a pretty good dancer." Mina added, doing a dancing pose.
"Unless you're here to give me a medal, I'm not interested. Jean-Paul, show them the way out." Queen Bee said, shrugging them off like it was nothing.
The man that was dressed like a butler walked up to the officers and gestured them to the exit.
But none of the members of the police didn't move a muscle.
"Mademoiselle Bourgeois, we have information that could be vital to you. There's someone who has sworn revenge against you." Noamasa argued.
"Well duh, that's what being a hero is all about copper. If bad guys aren't swearing vengeance on you then you aren't doing the hero part right. I don't suppose you'd understand how it feels." Queen Bee said.
Noamasa's left eye twitched. If he'd been younger and less experienced he would've called her out and walked out the door. However, he let out a tired breath and tried again.
"Queen Bee, with all due respect, this criminal is one that has been planning this for three years. He isn't going to give up until he gets you." Noamasa explained.
"He hypnotized two men into holding a store hostage to draw you out." Izuku added.
"Yeah, we nearly got shot because of them." Mina added. "This guy really doesn't like you."
However, their words fell upon deaf ears.
Queen Bee rolled her eyes at their explanations. She started looking at her nails although her fingers were covered by her costume.
Just then the elevator opened up and a mailman walked out with a large package in his hands. He walked past the three officers as through their existence didn't mean anything to him and the delivery of his package.
"Special delivery for Queen Bee." the mailman said, showing the package to Queen Bee.
"Oh, finally! I bet it's my new designer shoes with the golden shoe laces and the black high heels!" Queen Bee said before snatching the package from the mailman's hands. "What are you still doing here? Go away."
The mailman walked away from the desk passing the officers.
Izuku then noticed something on the back of the mailman's neck. It looked like a tag coming off from inside the man's shirt. But he could see that it was too big to be a tag for any shirt. He figured out what it truly was.
"Hey, does anyone else hear a ticking sound?" Mina asked.
Izuku and Noamasa looked at each other before they looked at the package.
"Oh no." they both said.
Noamasa sprinted for the package. He snatched it from Queen Bee's hands and threw it out the window.
"What the hell!?" Queen Bee asked.
"Everybody down!" Noamasa called out.
The package exploded just as it made his way out of the building.
Izuku acted on instinct. He jumped on top of Mina and the mailman, taking them both to the ground. He held them down as the explosion shook the office, knocking down the rest of the assistants. Once the explosion was over, Izuku quickly snatched the card from the mailman's back, causing him to break from his trance.
"Huh, where am I?" the mailman asked.
"You're alright. Don't worry." Izuku said as the mailman rubbed his head.
"Hey, partner… Thanks for the save and all. But I think you're holding me a bit too tightly." Mina said with a blush in her face.
Izuku just noticed that he was laying on top of his attractive partner. He quickly shot back to his feet, before apologizing to Mina for being too forceful.
Mina straightened her uniform before she calmed her partner down. She appreciated the help that Izuku gave her and how he did everything to protect her. She often forgot that Izuku was a man, a man that was willing to go above and beyond to help people.
However, Mina's musings were cut short by a shrill cry of rage.
"How dare you throw my package like that? Who would be daring enough to do this to me?!" Queen Bee cried out. "Look what it did to my office! This was imported Italian maple!" She added, pointing to her scorched desk.
Queen Bee extended her wings and flew over her desk. She looked at the remains of her office as her employees were helped up by Izuku, Mina and Noamasa.
"Whoever did this will pay! Who's the fool that dares challenge Queen Bee?!" Queen Bee demanded.
"...Wow, so now she cares." Mina muttered.
"I believe you'll recognize the name, Simon Says." Izuku said, showing the card he pulled off from the mailman. "He hypnotized that man to deliver you a bomb. Do you feel like this is something to take lightly?"
"Midoriya. That's enough." Noamasa said. "I want you and Ashido to report this to Captain Kendo. Tell her we need a safehouse for Queen Bee."
"Excuse me? I'm a superhero! Not some civilian, I'll hunt this Seemore Said easy as pie." Queen Bee said, flying out of the building through the broken window.
The officers watched in disbelief as the hero left them in the remains of her office.
"At least she could say the guy's name right." Mina said, leaning on the burnt desk, accidentally breaking it in two. "It was like this when we left it."
Noamasa sighed. It had been a long day for him.
"This is what I hate about dealing with heroes." Noamasa said. "You two, go out and see what you can find on Simon Says and try to track down Queen Bee if you can. I'll take this man and speak to the receptionist to see what they saw."
"Understood sir." Izuku said.
"You got it boss." Mina added.
Noamasa took both the mailman and the receptionist back to police headquarters. He had found the receptionist in a hypnotic trance, pretending to be a ballerina. Once they were both out of hypnosis, Noamasa took them to get their statements.
Izuku and Mina were left with their own devices. They drove around looking for clues of where Queen Bee might have gone, but she flew too fast for them to keep up with her. Despite being a diva that sought to be in the spotlight, the two officers didn't catch hide nor tail of the spent some time looking over the file on the arrest and how Queen Bee got the job done.
"How did we miss that daddy's girl? She's wearing bright yellow for crying out loud." Mina grunted as she took a bite out of her burger. "She should be easy to spot."
They had stopped by the burger place they wanted to try out and had gotten two burgers to enjoy.
"Queen Bee has one of the more straightforward Miraculous that there are but it has a great variation of side-effects. Her Miraculous is called Stinger Venom. It generates a bee stinger out of energy around her hands. It can paralyze anyone she strikes with it, but the stinger can also put men and some women into a trance to make them obey her every command." Izuku explained.
"What about her wings?" Mina asked.
"Part of her costume actually. She can use them to fly with ease, but they are pretty fragile. She's made a name for herself for her celebrity lifestyle and her flashy Miraculous. Sadly her work on the field leaves something to be desired." Izuku explained, before biting into his own burger. "What I don't understand is how she managed to capture Simon Says."
"Maybe one of her little drones found where he was and called her for assistance." Mina suggested. "She doesn't seem like the type that would patrol and follow clues to catch the bad guys."
"That's what I want to find out. The file says that Queen Bee spotted Simon Says in the alley behind St. Eddie B's. Le restaurant préféré of the Le Blue family, they often celebrated there." Izuku pointed to the file. "But there is no information of how she found him and how she stopped him."
"You say there's something missing?" Mina asked.
"I don't know. More like something doesn't fit." Izuku replied. "We'll have to look at what happened that day. And I'm afraid that there's only one person that has that information."
Mina thought for a moment before she figured who her partner was talking about. She swallowed what was left of her burger before she turned to her partner.
"Then we better go find her." Mina said.
Izuku nodded in agreement, grabbing the wrappers of their food before throwing them to the garbage can next to them.
Mina drove Izuku all the way to Alya's studio.
They made it to the studio apartment that Alya had. They knocked on the door, waiting for the journalist to open the door.
Alya opened the door with a sneaky grin on her face.
"Well, well, well. Look who came a knocking." Alya said, leaning on the frame of her studio apartment. "How are my favorite two police officers?"
"Hi, Alya. We came here to ask you a few questions." Izuku said.
"Came for the inside scoop of Simon Says and Queen Bee?" Alya asked, raising an eyebrow with her grin still pasted to her face.
"Oh my god, she's psychic! Those cute fox ears and tail were just for show!" Mina called out.
"Or I do my research." Alya replied. "Come on in."
Izuku and Mina stepped into the studio apartment where Alya lived. The apartment was filled with books, notes of different topics, a couple of pictures of her family and friends, a desk, a small TV and a queen sized bed. The room reflected her friendly and driven mentality, almost as though she often worked with a smile on her face and a desire to find the truth.
"How did you know what we were going to ask you?" Izuku asked.
"I contacted my editor and told her of everything that happened at the store. She told me to look deeper into the story, since she remembered someone calling themselves Simon Says." Alya explained.
"That saves us a lot of explaining." Mina muttered.
"Is it true then? Is this Simon Says or someone pretending to be him?" Alya asked, pulling up her computer.
Izuku needed to keep things straight and set the rules of what he could say or what Alya could write about. He couldn't say anything on the ongoing investigation, just allude to things and hope that Alya would hold off on them.
"There is reason to believe that it is the same Simon Says that was imprisoned, some time ago." Izuku said. "We need to know how exactly Queen Bee managed to defeat him."
Alya sat down on her swivel chair. She stroked her chin in thought. Her mind was trying to navigate the possibilities that Izuku was giving her. She had some information, but she needed more to write her story.
"Alright, I'll tell you what I know." Alya said, getting a smile from Izuku and Mina. "But you two are going to give me an exclusive of the case, how was it working with a hero and help me out on another story I'm working on."
"Hey, those are three things! We only asked you for one!" Mina snapped.
Just then the fan on the ceiling stopped spinning.
"Damn it. That thing keeps stopping." Alya grunted.
"I could try to fix it." Izuku offered.
"Knock yourself out." Alya shrugged as she tried to renegotiate with Mina. "Alright. An exclusive after the case is solved, and you help me in the search for Chat Noir."
Izuku stood on top of a chair as he heard that. He kept his ears open as he looked at the machinery of the ceiling fan. The pieces appeared to be in perfect order, so he decided to check the cables.
"You actually believe that there is a vigilante calling himself Chat Noir?" Mina asked. "I figured you'd be sniffing around for a story."
"That's exactly it. There have been reports done about a masked vigilante doing small things. All the descriptions match and the way that he always vanishes after doing his 'heroic' deed also matches with the actions of a vigilante." Alya argued.
"I found the problem. One of the cables is a bit loose." Izuku said, plugging the cable properly.
Izuku waited for the fan to move, but it didn't. He tried plugging and unplugging the cable but it didn't seem to move.
"Anyway, that's not important right now. Three years ago, Queen Bee was a starting hero who had managed to make a small name for herself. On the night she caught Simon Says, she was attending a party at Cinema Maya." Alya explained, pulling up a file from her computer. "There was a premier of a movie which her father produced. She left the cinema for some reason and spotted Simon Says in the alley and went off to stop him."
Izuku smacked the ceiling fan to see if he could get it to work. He smacked it again but then the fan started moving. His sleeve got caught in the moving pieces of the fan pulling him along. He was spinning out of the chair, holding on to the fins of the fan. He reached out to the chair with his feet, but he only managed to knock it off. Izuku pulled at his sleeve, but he only managed to make the fan go faster.
"That seems like luck to me." Mina said.
"Exactly. I checked the listings, plus the schedule and the premier had ended half an hour before the arrest." Alya said.
"Which means that she was there for another reason. If we figure out how or why she was there we can figure out-Izuku!" Mina snapped, pointing to Izuku spinning on the fan blades.
"Help. Me!" Izuku called out. "Fixed. It. Though."
"How did that happen?" Alya asked.
"I don't know, let's get him down." Mina said, as they both rushed to catch Izuku's spinning figure.
Mina and Alya rushed to his side, trying to grab hold of his legs, but he was going too fast for them to catch. They grabbed hold of his legs, but the fan was going too fast for them. Mina and Alya were pulled along with Izuku.
"Turn it off!" Mina called out.
"I'm trying!" Izuku replied.
"Grab his pants!" Alya said. "Now pull!"
Mina and Alya grabbed hold of Izuku's pants. They pulled at them with one mighty tug. They freed Izuku's sleeve from the fan, but were sent back first to the bed.
All three landed on the bed, with Izuku having the hands of both women deep in his pants.
"Well, every man wishes to have women reaching for their pants." Alya gasped. "Thanks for fixing the fan."
"You're welcomed." Izuku said. "Thank you for your help."
"Yeah, we owe you big time." Mina said.
"You'll make it up to me." Alya replied.
Izuku and Mina left the studio apartment, hoping to make progress on finding Simon Says before Queen Bee.
"Alright, we need to know what happened that night and how Queen Bee knew that Simon Says was gonna be there." Izuku said.
"Too bad our only lead is flying around the city looking for a fight and the other is looking to kill her." Mina replied.
"The cinema has a security system with cameras. I'll go check if there's any footage of the night this all happened. You go and see if you can get something out of that Sabrina, Queen Bee's assistant." Izuku suggested. "She's bound to have something on Queen Bee."
"Isn't she gonna be a little against the idea of sharing confidential information?" Mina asked.
"We could always try the receptionist. She didn't seem to like her very much." Izuku suggested.
"Sounds like a plan." Mina said. "I'll check with the assistant and then then the receptionist."
Izuku returned to his apartment after parting ways with Mina. The sun was setting and he needed to be ready with his suit. He took off his police uniform and got his other uniform ready to get to the streets.
Chat Noir soared through the air with his grappling hook. He landed on the rooftop of the Cinema Maya. He pulled out his binoculars and observed the former restaurant meeting spot of the LeBlue family.
"No signs of Simon. Nor of Queen Bee." Chat Noir muttered to himself.
He moved to the back of the cinema to see the back entrance. He gazed down at the alley and noticed a camera pointed to the back entrance of the cinema. He noticed something else on the camera and the back of it. He reached out and touched it with his fingers.
"Dried up paint?" Chat Noir asked.
Chat Noir was about to head inside when he heard someone walking towards the alley.
A man wearing a black hood with a skull mask and torn pants. He had a backpack on him slung over his shoulder. He stretched out his hand and flicked his hand like a finger gun. From the tip of his finger a spray of paint blinded the camera.
"Damn." Chat Noir cursed.
Just then another person walked into the alley. This one was a younger man. He didn't look older than sixteen.
"Hey. You the Spook?" the kid asked.
"Not so loud. Put the dough on top of the trash can." Spook said.
The kid did as the skull masked man said.
From where Chat Noir saw things, it looked like two hundred Euros.
"Time to pick out your candy." Spook said, taking the money.
Spook opened up his backpack and placed two small white bags.
The kid reached out to grab the bags from the trash can until a metal Kali stick struck the trash can before returning to the one that threw it.
They looked up to see Chat Noir land in front of them.
"Get lost." Chat Noir said in his most threatening tone.
Spook ran away, picking up his backpack and sprinting to the other end of the alley. He ran like a rat out of a burning kitchen. But he didn't get far.
Chat Noir flung his second Kali stick at the back of the Spook's head. He then turned to the scared child.
"Stay there." Chat Noir said.
Chat Noir walked up to the downed Spook. He grabbed the money that the kid had given him. He then grabbed the dealer by the back of his hoodie. The vigilante dragged him up to where the young kid was still shaking on his butt. Chat Noir handed the kid the money back.
"Don't waste your money on drugs. Go to school and become something better." Chat Noir said.
The kid grabbed the money back before sprinting out of the alley.
Chat Noir heard Spook walking up, groaning from the hit. The vigilante didn't wait for him to get a coherent sentence out. He slammed the dealer against the wall before dragging him up to his face.
"You like selling poison to kids?" Chat Noir asked.
"What? Who are you man?!" Spook asked as Chat Noir took off the dealer's mask.
He looked like he had a skull for a face and a long pointy red nose and choppy blond hair.
"Your worst nightmare." Chat Noir replied.
"L-L-Look man. I'm just the guy who gets stuff for the right price." Spook said, trembling. "You need something, I get it for you. Just ask your friends."
"What do you mean 'ask my friends'?" Chat Noir asked.
"Some heroes ask me stuff and I get it." Spook whimpered. "Just ask that Queen."
"You get stuff from Queen Bee?" Chat Noir asked. "What kind of 'stuff'?"
"Some fashion designer stuff, some posters, info. That sort of thing." Spook squealed.
"Like where to find a mob assassin?"
"That was actually lucky."
Chat Noir needed to process what he just heard.
"Stay away from kids. And if I see you again in these alleys, you'll be sorry." Chat Noir said, tearing off the backpack from Spook.
Spook rushed out of the alley in a fright.
Chat Noir looked into the backpack. He saw that the bag was like a candy store of different things, from drugs to pieces of information to actual candy. He opened the lid of the trashcan and dropped the whole backpack inside. He grunted at the apparent dead lead. He knew that Queen Bee was just going to fly around the city looking for Simon Says, and that suited the mob assassin just fine. He needed to find a clue of where the villain was and get there before Queen Bee made a mess of things.
Just as Chat Noir pondered on his next move, his phone began to vibrate. He pulled it out of his pants and saw the caller ID.
"Hello, Mina. How's your side of the case?" Izuku asked. "I've got nothing on my end. The camera didn't catch anything."
"Well that's a shame partner. But I've got something from Noamasa. Turns out that all the cards had a high concentration of dopamine. According to the file on Simon Says that's a side effect of his Miraculous." Mina said over the phone.
"According to the file used to add more of that chemical on his cards plus his own to increase their effectiveness." Chat Noir said, suddenly getting an idea. "Didn't the Le Blue family get busted because of a chemical lab they ran?"
"Oh yeah! I remember that we had to transport many of the equipment pieces that night."
"Is that lab still in use?"
"I think Noamasa said that it was shut down a week ago."
"That's probably where Simon Says is hiding. I'll go check it out and see what I can find."
"Well, that's the other thing I wanted to talk to you about. I spoke to Sabrina and Queen Bee already has the address. She's gonna go after Simon Says on her own. And secondly, that girl Sabrina needs a raise. She was a bucket of nerves."
Chat Noir cursed under his breath.
"Mina, tell Noamasa that Queen Bee might be heading to a trap. I'll try to get there as soon as possible." Chat Noir said, hanging up the call.
He fired up his grappling hook, pulling himself upwards into the night sky. However, as he soared through the air, he didn't know that he had been spotted.
Alya looked through the lense of her camera from inside her car. She looked at the vigilante sailing through the night sky. She took a couple pictures of the black clad hero, following his trajectory.
"Oh, you are not gonna get away this time kitty." Alya said. "I hoped to get the jump at QB, but this could be a bigger scoop." She added, turning on her car's engine.
She followed behind Chat Noir. However, thanks to her car, she made her way to the fore closed chemical lab much faster than the vigilante.
The chemical lab was a small building with broken windows and a metallic roof. It resembled more a storage shed before the invention of penicillin than a place where the would work on chemicals.
Alya observed the place keeping her eyes open for the mysterious vigilante. But then she spotted Queen Bee landing from the skies. She rushed into the lab without a second thought or plan. Alya saw how the sixth top hero kicked the door open from inside her car.
"Wow, no plan whatsoever." Alya muttered, turning off her car.
Alya got out of her car and kept her eyes open. She watched as Chat Noir slowly made his way to the lab. She used this chance to move slowly through the shadows to get a closer look. She kept her fox ears to listen in on anything that could give her a scoop of information. Alya reached the chemical lab before Chat Noir and snuck in through the open door.
The inside of the chemical lab looked like the scene of a horror film. The room with all the chemicals was working hard like a mad scientist had just opened up shop. The lights were blinking, the tiles were broken and the hallways were as quiet as a graveyard.
"Hey Simone whatever-your-name-is, you messed with the wrong hero!" Queen Bee snapped.
...Like a graveyard amidst a funeral perhaps.
Alya looked into the large room where Queen Bee walked on. She slowly opened the door to see what was going on better.
"You will be sorry for messing up my office. Do you have any idea how much it cost me to get a customized desk to match the color of my nails?" Queen Bee ranted. "You won't be able to get a job flipping cards on carnivals when I'm done with you!"
The lights turned on, blinding Queen Bee.
"Simon Says, you are frozen in place!"
A card shot out from behind the light, getting stuck on Queen Bee's chest.
Queen Bee became frozen in place like a statue. She couldn't even move her eyes.
A figure stepped out from behind the light. A sinister giggle followed as the figure made his way up to the frozen hero.
"Oh, Queen Bee. Always the prima donna." the voice said before turning off the lights.
The figure was Simon Says. He wore a half green and half purple shirt with a bow tie of the same colors, a black vest on top of his shirt, black pants with one green shoe and one purple shoe. His hands were covered in black fingerless gloves. His face was covered with a black domino mask, and on top of his head was a top hat that was half green and half purple. He twirled one of his cards in one of his sharp nails and held a walking stick in the other.
"You have no idea how long I've waited for this moment. I rotted away in prison for three years, thinking about what I'd do to you if I ever got out. He he, we are going to have some fun." Simon Says said. "Should I kill you to get even with you? Or maybe I should make you rob a few banks? Maybe I should make you give me a good time, being locked up and all without female company? All of the above sound very tempting, but things are changing. There's a new big man in town and I want to get back into the game. You'll be my ticket in. Imagine the look on his face when I bring him a freakin hero. Talk about an impression for a job interview."
Alya couldn't believe what she was hearing. She had to do something. But her Miraculous wasn't going to do anything against what Simon Says had up his sleeve. She needed to call the police or some heroes. She took a step back, accidentally knocking an empty beaker.
It fell, shattering as soon as it hit the floor.
Simon Says turned his head at the origin of the sound. He spotted Alya, forcing her to run.
"It would seem that we've got a mischievous little fox. We're gonna have to deal with her." Simon Says said, pulling out another card. "Time for a test run. Simon Says, ``Take care of that snooping young lady, eliminate her." "
Simon Says flicked a new card at Queen Bee, taking the place of the previous one.
Queen Bee's eyes turned red as she turned to where Alya ran off to. She extended her wings and flew after Alya with a murderous intent.
Alya ran towards the exit as fast as she could, looking over his shoulder to see if anyone was chasing her. Her heart beated like a scared rabbit being chased by a wolf. Her ears twitched as soon as she heard the doors pushed open with great force. Her eyes shrunk as Queen Bee zoomed towards her like a yellow bullet. Alya tripped on a loose tile, falling to the floor like the final girl in a horror film. She turned around and saw Queen Bee on top of her with her hands reaching out to choke the life out of her.
But before the hypnotized heroine could do away with the young reporter, a black mass tackled Queen Bee.
Alya followed the black mass and Queen Bee as they landed on the other side of the room.
Chat Noir had arrived. He held down Queen Bee, trying to get the card off of her. He reached to take the card, but the heroine was far too wild to pin down.
"You won't hurt her." Chat Noir growled, reaching for the card.
Queen Bee kicked Chat Noir off of her, landing against one of the lockers.
Chat Noir groaned in pain when the heel of her shoe struck him.
She got back in the air before charging at the downed vigilante. She reeled back her fist, letting out a defiant scream.
Chat Noir jumped out of the way as Queen Bee's punch made a whole on the locker. He pulled out his two kali sticks as she turned her murderous glare towards him. He swung the sticks at her while blocking the flurry of kicks that she sent. He stepped back before striking at the heroine's leg. He ducked under the kicks. He struck the wings, snapping them from her back. Chat Noir then kicked her back, giving him some breathing room.
She got back on her feet. A scowl of hatred burnt through her domino mask as her crown fell from her head. Queen Bee's hands were coated in yellow and black energy, transforming into a pair of stingers. She let out a roar thrusting her stingers forward at the vigilante. She aimed her stingers at his chest, neck and groin, forcing him to dodge the attacks to the best of his abilities. She cornered him against the wall. She punched, embedding her stinger into the wall, missing his face by an inch. As he moved around her, she followed him. Queen Bee jumped up, aiming to dig her stinger deep into Chat Noir's heart.
Chat Noir crossed his sticks, blocking the stingers. He knew of her Miraculous' power and how one sting would doom him. He loosened his body. He allowed Queen Bee's force to push him down. Chat Noir kicked her forward, sending her crashing against the wall behind them. He cartwheeled back to his feet, dropping one of his sticks. He reached for the card on her chest and ripped it off of her. He jumped back, ripping the card in half.
Queen Bee groaned in pain. She held her head as she stumbled to her feet.
"Take it easy," Chat Noir whispered, picking up his other stick. "We need to stop Simon-"
Alya came up from behind with a glass bottle in her hand, striking Queen Bee in the head.
"...Says." Chat Noir finished, as Queen Bee fell down to the ground unconscious.
Chat Noir looked at Alya who was panting like a dog.
"S-S-Sorry. I-I thought that she was still under his control. A-A-And I just thought that she was going to attack you." Alya stuttered. "I can't believe I did that. If my boss finds out I'm so out of a job."
Chat Noir reached for the remains of the broken glass and placed it gently in the ground. He placed his hand on Alya's shoulder, comforting her.
"It's alright. Take a deep breath." Chat Noir instructed.
Alya did as he told her. There was a calmness to his voice and the deep emerald eyes that made her feel safe.
"Feel better?" Chat Noir asked.
She nodded.
"Alright. I'll go deal with Simon Says, but you need to call the police. They're already on their way but they'll get here faster if they know the situation." Chat Noir explained.
"You got it." Alya replied.
Chat Noir took off with his two sticks in hand.
Alya fell to her knees upon realizing what had just happened.
"...I just spoke to Chat Noir." Alya muttered. "So, so cool."
Chat Noir rushed to the lab. He stopped as he reached the entrance. He peeked into the lab as quietly as he could. He spotted Simon Says working with the chemicals inside the lab, waiting for Queen Bee to come back. Chat Noir knew that he couldn't just burst in and attack the man. One wrong move and he'd be turned into Simon's newest puppet. The vigilante looked at the chemicals and noticed that there was a bunsen burner heating up one of the glasses.
"I hope I remember chemistry correctly." Chat Noir muttered, pulling out a razor disk from his belt.
Chat Noir moved the door enough to get Simon Says' attention.
"Are you finally done, my puppet?" Simon Says asked, looking at the door.
Chat Noir pushed the door open all the way. He spotted the look of surprise on the villain's face. He threw his razor disk at the chemicals and the bunsen burner, before Simon Says could've reacted.
The disk shattered the glass, releasing the chemical onto the burner.
The table caught fire as it spread, forcing Simon Says to cover his face.
Chat Noir used this chance to run around the burning table, keeping his distance from Simon Says. He drew both of his Kali sticks as he kept his eyes on Simon Says.
"You miserable punk!" Simon Says cried out. "Simon Says: Drop dead!" He called, throwing one of his cards.
But the card was burnt away by the fire.
Simon Says threw card after card at Chat Noir but the flames were burning faster than he could throw them.
"Crap!" Simon Says said.
He looked for the fire extinguisher. He picked it up and started putting out the flames. He coated the whole table in a white mist. But before Simon Says could completely snuff out the fire, Chat Noir emerged from the shadows.
Chat Noir swung his kali sticks, cracking Simon Says across the face. He continued his attacks with another strike to the villain's wrist, breaking it. He was being driven off by a rage towards the villain, not because he used people like a sick puppeteer or that he endangered others, but because Simon Says put his friend in danger. Chat Noir tightened his grip on his kali stick before punching Simon Says square in the nose.
A loud crack echoed in the room.
Simon Says was knocked down on the floor with a broken nose, and a broken wrist. He had some bruises and spat some blood.
Chat Noir burnt the rest of the villain's cards before putting out the fire. He tied up Simon Says just as he heard the sirens of the police coming closer.
"Guess they finally arrived." chat Noir muttered.
Alya waited anxiously for Chat Noir to walk back through those doors with Simon Says in toll. It had gotten really quiet for her taste. She had found an old crowbar to use for protection. She would've preferred an armed bodyguard but she couldn't be picky.
"Ow. What happened?!" Queen Bee asked, snapping back to her feet.
Alya jumped back in shock of the heroine's quick recovery.
"Queen Bee, are you alright?" Alya asked.
"Of course I'm not alright, my costume is a mess and my wings were snapped, and my crown is junk." Queen Bee recalled. "I am going to give that clown Simon a throughrough beating for this, and that mangy cat that did this to me won't be far behind." She added, running back to the lab.
"Shouldn't we wait for the cops?" Alya asked, following the hero.
"And let them take all the credit? Not on your life." Queen Bee said, kicking the doors open. "The gig is up, Says. Your little tricks won't help you this time!"
However, they were met with the sight of Simon Says tied up with some chains and gagged.
"Wow." Alya muttered, looking for signs of Chat Noir.
In the background, the police kicked down the door and rushed in to apprehend the escaped villain.
The very next day, Izuku and Mina were watching the news on Izuku's phone.
"This is Nadja Chamack, with the Contact Letter News. We have a special episode for you guys today. We have none other than the number six hero, Queen Bee. Who after a grueling battle defeated the vicious Simon Says, the criminal that terrorized Paris the other day. Queen Bee, can you tell us how the battle went against this criminal?"
"Well Nadja, it was a hard battle. I was actually surprised that Simon Says tried to corner me in his hideout. But I managed to dodge his parlor tricks and landed a devastating blow to his face. Before-"
Izuku cut the news report.
"I think we can move on from that." Izuku said.
"Yeah, we were there for the arrest anyways." Mina shrugged. "By the way, did you really run all the way there? You looked out of breath when we got there."
"I did, I should really get a bike or something. My legs were killing me all night." Izuku said.
Just then he got an alert of a new post from Lady News Paper.
"Alya just posted a new articel." Izuku said, pressing on the notice.
"Wonder what's it about." Mina said as she looked at Izuku's screen.
As soon as the screen finished loading the two officers were shown the title of the article.
Chat Noir, The Bad Luck Vigilante.
