The limo ride had been full of light hearted conversation that I hadn't really paid much attention to. All I could do was stare at the ballsy fucker next to me. What the hell was this demon thinking? How had he made my dad think he was a business partner? What was going on?

The whole ride, when no one really was looking, Alastor would look at me, and I'd feel a chill run down my spine. His eyes held amusement and narcissism. It was obvious he could see the stress I was under, yethe thought it was funny. Jesus Christ this guys was an asshole.

"Anthony, was it?" Alastor's voice suddenly intruded into my head, and the conversation died as everyone turned to me.

"Y-Yeah-"

"Speak up, boy." My father growled, only to get a cold look from my mother.

"Now, now, it's quite alright. I've been told I have an effect on people~" Alastor flashed me another smile, yet his eyes were like one speaking a joke. That's when a sudden thought popped into my head.

"He knows I'm-"

No, there's no way he could know. Yet...why was he looking at me this whole ride like he knew something no one else in the car did? Was I that obvious? Oh god, if he said anything and my dad suspected...he wouldn't. Alastor was obviously the kind of guy who liked whatever kept him occupied, and our deal was definitely doing that. As long as I kept him entertained...I didn't think I'd have to worry about him exposing me.

"Now Anthony," Alastor's words caught my attention, "I couldn't help but notice you haven't spoken hardly a word this whole time. Perhaps you have something on your mind?"

Everyone's eyes fell on me again, and I gulped as I said the first thing to pop into my head, "My dad says you're his new partner, yet we don't know how he even knows you. What exactly are you doing to benefit him?"

My dad actually seemed surprised I asked something like that. He must have thought I'd just spaced out...he wasn't entirely wrong. Seeing my mother and siblings' faces all but confirmed they'd thought the same thing. All of them wanted to know what this guy had done to get my dad to invite him along tonight. Mom especially, since she's been thinking this was a family outing.

"Oh, well you see, I host a radio show down south, though my coverage reaches to New York now. I happened to be in town due to the occasional business trip, when I decided to stop by this tailor's I'd seen on a walk this morning. It just so happened to be one of your father's...businesses. He was there getting this very suit fitted, when I walked in. I happened to know who he was since I have a few connection of my own, and approached him with an offer. You see with my influence, I could easily distract people from your family business, promote the companies under your influence, things like that."

"I honestly wanted to shoot him on the spot for even talking to me, but it was such a bold move, I just had to listen."

Despite wanting to gag at how my dad said this as if he had the brilliant idea for this deal, I couldn't help but wonder if this is what Alastor had been doing when I wasn't in the room with him. How could he have had any idea what we were going to be doing, or where to find my dad? Just how powerful was this guy?

Alastor spoke again, "But luckily you didn't! Now we have such a sound partnership."

"So what are you getting out of this?" Mama asked, a tone of distrust in her voice...rightfully placed.

"Why I get more publicity for my show, of course! With the ratings and money I'll get from that, and the payments from your husband here, I'm much more than happy to cover a few things from the public eye. He invited me along to his dinner to work out some finer details."

"Sounds fair..." Arthur pouted from his seat next to my father, obviously upset he hadn't been there to see this deal and give dear old dad his 'valued' advice.

"Well if Daddy's happy with it, I am~" Molly exclaimed, "Besides, it's nice to have someone out of the city helping us out. Where from the south are you from, Alastor." I rolled my eyes, knowing. Molly was only asking because she thought Alastor was cute. She usually didn't give two fucks about the family businesses, unless a hot guy happened to be involved. Honestly, I couldn't blame her, Alastor did look pretty damn fine as a human.

"New Orleans." Alastor examined his surprisingly tidy fingernails as he spoke, "And yes, I know I don't sound the part. I find covering up my accent helps more listeners understand me better over he radio."

"New Orleans hun?" Molly sighed, "I've never seen anywhere outside of New York."

"Well if you're family ever happens to be down there, I'd be happy to show you around." Alastor said with his smile still plastered on his face.

God, heplayed this role so well, almost as if it were real. Once tonight was over, I wanted to try prying some information out of this fucker. I also wanted to yell at him for being such an idiot and introducing himself to my family. Thought, I guess that would be pretty pointless since he'd be gone soon.

"Sir," The window between the back and front of the limo lowered, and the driver spoke, "We're here." The limo came to a stop, and the lackies that had been waiting for us opened the door.

My father got out, then held out his hand and helped my father out of the vehicle. Arthur did the same for my sister, though I'm sure he would have been happy to let her get out on her own. Before I could get out though, Alastor stepped out before me, and offered me his hand, his back to my family, who's reactions to this varied. My father gave a subtle stare of disapproval, yet said nothing, Molly looked insanely jealous, Arthur seemed confused, and Mama just stared untrustingly. I looked up at Alastor, almost refusing the hand, but then remembered that my father's days were numbered, and took it. He taller man helped me out on to the sidewalk, very gentleman like, still smiling.

"This establishment looks lovely!" Alastor exclaimed to my silent family members, yet he hadn't let go of my hand yet. He didn't let go until we reached the door, where he proceeded to turn his head to my family, and I swore he gave my father the same stare he gave me when I first summoned him, the stare of a man who had a farther superior intellect to the one he stared at, "Coming?" He asked with a hint of amusement

...I'm starting to like this demon.
