Chapter 11 – Putting Plans in Motion

Harry could hear Narcissa's relieved sigh when Draco started to stir. He walked over and looked at the boy that was now a perfect blend between him and his mother. 'Wow, he looks more like me than I expected. I wonder if there will be any personality changes as well?'

"Well, that was weird," Draco said as he stood up rubbing his neck. He looked down at himself and his eyes widened in surprise. "Can I see what I….." but before he could even finish Narcissa had conjured a mirror and was handing it to him.

"Salazar, look at that," said Draco as he ran his fingers through his significantly longer strawberry blonde locks.

"You look very handsome Draco," said Narcissa. "I dare say Harry's features have worked out very well for you."

"Thanks Mum, I guess it will do." said Draco with a shrug and a soft smile. Both Harry and Narcissa raised their eyebrows at this. 'Mum not mother, a smile instead of a sneer. Interesting.'

"Here are your heir rings Draco Potter-Black." Said Ragnuk from the desk. Draco nodded and walked over and took the rings.

"Is there anything else I can do for you before I send you with Scarclaw to visit your vaults Lord Emrys?" asked Ragnuk.

"Yes, there is one thing. Could you get me a copy of the Daily Prophet from 21 June?" asked Harry. Ragnuk waved his hand and the newspaper appeared on the desk.

"Great, thank you. That is all for now then," said Harry as he shrunk the newspaper and put it in the pocket of his robes.

"Very well, I will leave you with Scarclaw. The rest of the properties you requested should be purchased by the end of the week," said Ragnuk as he stood up to leave. Harry bowed slightly in recognition.

Just as King Ragnuk left, Scarclaw entered the large office and led the trio to a cart. It was much nicer than the one Harry had been in before. They stopped at the Potter vault first where Harry gathered all of the pictures he could find, a couple items he knew belonged to his parents, and some family tomes. When they got to the Black vault, which was a couple levels lower than the Potter vault, Harry told Narcissa and Draco to grab whatever they wanted. Narcissa grabbed a couple family heirlooms that Harry guessed had belonged to her mother. He rolled his eyes when he saw Draco filling a sack with as many galleons as he could.

"You may want to pick out some betrothal rings as well Draco instead of just taking all of my money. You do realize that if you spend it all now, there will be nothing for me to leave for you, yes?" said Harry. He expected a sneer and a rude comment, but Draco surprised him by giving him a sheepish look instead of an insult and then nodding his head in acceptance. It would take a while to get used to this new Draco.

"Sorry Dad," Draco said as he went to ask Narcissa to help him pick out some rings. Narcissa smiled at him warmly and pointed out a few options, while Harry shook his head. 'This is so weird. Just when I start to think my life can't get any stranger.'

The Emrys vault was on the lowest possible level of Gringotts' and it took them another twenty minutes in the cart before they reached it. The goblin chose to stay in the cart while the three of them walked over to the door. Harry walked up and pricked his finger on the sharp stones that poked out where a handle would normally be. A wave of magic pulsed outward, and then a large arch way appeared in front of him.

"You'll have to stay out here for a moment, Draco," said Harry. "Cissy?"

"I'll wait with Draco," she replied. Harry nodded as he went inside. He came back out a few minutes later and motioned for him and Narcissa to join him.

"Don't try and get in here by yourself, Draco. It won't be pretty. The vault will only allow you access if you are accompanied by me or your mother, and the vault will not allow you to ever take anything out. So, if there is something you really want, make sure you hand it to one of us before you try and walk out," said Harry. Draco nodded. They all walked in and Narcissa and Draco stared at the endless piles of coins in the center of what seemed like a never-ending vault. Along the edges of the vault were shelves stuffed full of various metal objects that had been turned to gold. They were both in shock. Neither of them had ever seen this much money and gold, and they used to be Malfoys. Harry wandered towards the back until he found the items he wanted to get for Narcissa and then they left.

When they walked out of Gringotts they went to Narcissa's favorite restaurant for lunch. While they ate, they ignored all the suspicious stares aimed in their direction and Harry read through the newspaper from the 21st.

"So, apparently, someone saw you with me in Diagon Alley the day we went to see the Flamels and assumed that you must have kidnapped me because it was the only reason we would have been seen together," said Harry with a chuckle. "Technically, we both were kidnapped, but nobody actually saw that. Are you prepared for our marriage announcement to be in the prophet soon, Cissy? It's the only way I can think of to fix this."

"We planned on going to the ministry tomorrow anyways, so we might as well let the world know. Although, considering the looks were getting now, and the two unexpected visits we've already had, I do think we should look at some of the properties we own and see if any of them are suitable to move into. That way we can avoid so many unscheduled visits from your friends and have a place to hide out if the reporters become too much trouble," replied Narcissa with a frown as she looked around at the patrons.

"Yes, that's a good idea. Would you like to do that Cissy? I'm sure you already have something in mind that you're looking for," said Harry with a smirk. Narcissa smiled at him and nodded her acceptance. Harry waved his had and conjured a sheet of parchment and a self-inking quill and jotted down a few notes.

After lunch, Draco and Narcissa went shopping while Harry went to speak with the editor of the Daily Prophet. He walked down south side until he found the home of his least favourite newspaper. He gazed at the run-down looking brick building for a few moments before he sighed and walked inside.

"Hello," he said to the young secretary sitting at a desk near the entrance. "I'm Lord Emrys and I must speak with Barnabas Cuffe, right away."

"Lord Emrys! What an honour to meet you. Please have a seat, it should just be a moment. I'm sure he will be right with you," said the young woman excitedly as she went into what Harry assumed was the editor's office. Harry nodded, but remained standing with as much of an intimating air as he could muster. Narcissa was much better at the intimidation thing. Narcissa would laugh at him if she was here, but he supposed it was good practice. A few minutes later, the secretary returned, followed by a slightly over-weight but well dressed, grey-haired man that Harry reasoned must be Barnabas Cuffe.

"Lord Emrys!" Barnabas said as he put out his hand for Harry to shake. Harry took it and shook it firmly. He noticed the editor eye his ring while they shook, clearly trying to ensure Harry was who he claimed to be. "I'm Barnabas Cuffe, the editor of the Daily Prophet. Please come into my office. Would you like anything to drink? Tea? Water?"

"No, I am fine, thank you for inquiring," Harry said as he followed Barnabas into his office. He let his magic flare as he sat down and watched as Mr. Cuffe's expression remained neutral. 'So, he's not out to get me, he just publishes whatever will make him the most money. I can work with that.'

"So what brings you here today Lord Emrys?" asked Barnabas once he was settled in his seat.

"My full name is Harry James Potter-Black-Emrys," said Harry. Barnabas seemed to pale slightly at this, so Harry scanned his mind. 'Ah, so he knows many of the things printed about me have been lies.'

"On 21 June, you published an article stating that Narcissa Malfoy abducted me. I am here to request that a formal apology be published to my wife for the insults against her character, as well as a formal announcement of our union," said Harry firmly. Barnabas put his finger in his ear and wiggled it around like he was hearing things. Harry just waited patiently.

"Your wife?" clarified Barnabas.

"Yes, Narcissa Potter-Black-Emrys," answered Harry. "We were married a few days before the article was published. We were doing some shopping before leaving for our honeymoon when I was apparently kidnapped by my new wife. I would have been here sooner to clear this up, but we only just returned."

"Um, I'm not sure I can..."

"We both know you've had no issues publishing blatant lies about me in the past, if made you money. I have never complained, even though it would have been well within my rights to do so, especially as a Lord. I don't really care what you print about me, but I will not allow you to tarnish my wife's reputation," said Harry.

"Tarnish her..." started Mr. Cuffe. Harry stood abruptly, magic swirling in his eyes. "I'm sure you have an idea of how much I am worth. I can be your enemy Mr. Cuffe, or I can be a friend, maybe even a benefactor if you start publishing the truth, but if you choose me as an enemy, I promise I will destroy you and this newspaper. I expect to see the apology and announcement in the paper within two days." Harry placed the sheet of parchment he had made notes on in the restaurant on the editor's desk.

"Good day, sir," said Harry as he made to leave the office. "Oh, and you should tell your wife about your affair. I imagine she'll find out one way or another. It would be better if she found out from you." Harry watched as the man paled. When he knew his threat had sunk in, he nodded and left. As Harry walked back into the reception area, he noticed that the room was filled with reporters. Harry frowned deeply. 'I should have known.'

"Lord Emrys, will you tell why you are here today?"

"Where have you been all these years?"

"Are you here to help Harry Potter defeat he who must not be named?" That got an eyebrow raise.

"Are you looking for a wife?"

"Are you free on Saturday?"

"How rich are you really?" Harry chuckled. 'Oh, if only they knew.'

Meanwhile, Narcissa was having a wonderful time shopping with Draco. She truly had missed spending time with him. Even before her trip to Albion it had been years since they had been able to enjoy this sort of time together. She enjoyed witnesses the slight changes in him as well. He was still the Draco she knew and loved, but every once in a while, she caught a look or a reaction that was typical of Harry and it made her smile.

They went to all her favorite stores and then ended at Madam Malkin's to get all new robes for the three of them. Narcissa was delighted to find that all she had to do was show the Emrys ring and the purchases were taken care of. It also meant she was given a great deal of respect and assistance once they realized she was Lady Emrys. By the time they reached Madam Malkin's, all the store owners knew who she was now.

"Lady Emrys, I was hoping you would come in today. What can I do for you?" asked Madam Malkin eagerly. She had heard through the grape vine how much Narcissa had spent in the other shops.

"Madam Malkin, I have my order written up already if you would be so kind as to look it over. Draco will need to be measured for his, but the measurements for my husband and myself are included with the order," said Narcissa smoothly as she handed Madam Malkin a sheet of parchment. "Draco will also need something suitable to wear out of the shop today. As you can see, he has grown quite abruptly. I'm sure you can accommodate us."

"Yes, yes, of course, Lady Emrys." She said as she glanced over the parchment, not even bothering to look over at Draco in his now too small clothes. With a quick nod she put the order down. "Come with me Draco, let's get you measured."

When they were done with Madam Malkin's, they started towards Knockturn Alley for some rare potion ingredients, but as soon as they stepped into the centre of the street they were suddenly surrounded by people, who were all eyeing Narcissa suspiciously.

"What have you done with Harry Potter?" yelled a wizard from the back of the crowd that she couldn't see.

"I have don't nothing to Mr. Potter, he is perfectly safe I assure you." Said Narcissa calmly.

"And why should we believe you, you're the wife of a death eater," yelled a witch.

"My husband is Lord Emrys and he is certainly not a death eater," replied Narcissa.

"How dare you spoil the Emrys name. There is no way he would marry the likes of you! Where is Harry?" yelled another witch. Narcissa sighed. 'I'm not getting anywhere with these idiots.' She closed her eyes for a moment and thought of Harry, willing her magic to reach him wherever he was.

'Harry, my love.'

'Everything okay Cissy?'

'We've been cornered by a mob.' Harry could hear the fear in her words, despite her attempts to hide it.

'I'll be right there, Cissy.'

"Sorry, but family needs me. I must go. Send me an owl and I'll try and answer the rest of your questions. Good day to you all," said Harry. Before anyone could comment he was gone. He reappeared directly behind Narcissa and quickly wrapped an arm around her waist and maneuvered her behind him, then stepped forward enough to ensure Draco was protected as well.

"Is there a problem here?" Harry asked firmly as he scanned the gathered crowd. "I'm sure you have business to get back to. I would appreciate it if you left my wife in peace." Nobody moved, everyone just stared at him in shock. After several moments he rolled his eyes and then waved his hand. A shock wave travelled through the crowd and suddenly everyone covered their ears and started to move away from the annoying buzzing noise that had filled the air around the trio. When the crowd dispersed, there stood a shocked Weasley family along with Hermione.

"H-H-Harry," squealed Hermione. "How- what-how?" Harry winced slightly and walked over to her. He let his magic flare and was relieved to see the content, dreamy expression on her face. Ron's face was more neutral than he had hoped it would be, but he still appeared content.

"Yes Hermione, it's me, but now is not really the time or place to explain. Can you come by Grimmauld Place for dinner? I promise to explain everything, I – just - please try and have an open mind, it - will be a lot," said Harry. Hermione noticed his sincerity and nodded, but then looked over at Narcissa and Draco wearily.

"I'll be there at 5." She responded, not taking her eyes off of the mother and son. Harry nodded and went back over to his family. He gave Hermione one last apologetic look before he apparated them away.

When they got back to Grimmauld place, Narcissa enlarged all of their shopping and then asked Kreacher to put everything away. After that, they all fell into an armchair in exhaustion.

"Is this how life is always going to be from now on?" asked Draco. Harry laughed.

"I truly hope not. The fact that I am now Lord Potter-Black-Emrys, have married Narcissa and adopted you should be published in the Daily Prophet within the next couple of days. I imagine people will lose their wits for awhile, but the interest will die down eventually, right?" said Harry. Narcissa looked at him incredulously. Harry sighed.

"Maybe you should prioritize finding somewhere for us to live, Cissy. That way we can at least escape the mobs if we need to." Narcissa nodded. Harry let Kreacher know that Hermione was coming to dinner, and then the new family spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing. Harry found this new Draco to be much more enjoyable to be around. He was the same in many ways, but his inclination towards cruelty and hot temper seemed to have cooled. He was still enthusiastic about quidditch so it gave them something to talk about, and he wasn't nearly as boastful and condescending as he used to be, so Harry found himself actually wanting to get to know him better. Narcissa smiled at them happily the entire afternoon, and Harry knew giving Draco a chance was worth it if she smiled like that all the time.

At 4:45 the Potter-Black family stood in front of the fireplace in their finest dinner attire, as demanded by Narcissa. When Hermione stepped through, she eyed them all in surprise, but didn't say anything. When Harry went to greet Hermione, he noticed someone else stepping through the fireplace behind her. He put his hand gently on Narcissa's arm to keep her from drawing her wand when he saw the flash of pink.

"Wowcher Harry," said Tonks. "Sorry to impose, Mrs. Weasley wouldn't let Hermione come alone, so I offered to tag along. I hope that's alright. I'm not sure what happened, but she seems a bit scared of you now."

"Is your loyalty to Mrs. Weasley or Hermione?" asked Harry. Tonks raised her eyebrows in surprise, but she considered his question seriously.

"Hermione, and you," said Tonks as her hair flashed red.

"Then welcome Nymphadora," said Harry with a smile.

"You're Andromeda's daughter," Narcissa said softly, bringing Tonks attention to her for the first time.

"Yes," said Tonks as she stared at Narcissa trying to get a measure of her character. Eventually she sighed and looked away.

"I don't want to jump to conclusions like Molly," said Tonks after a breath. "So maybe you could just explain, so I have all the facts?" Harry nodded.

"I would be glad to. I will introduce everyone and then we can sit down and eat, and I will explain everything that has happened," replied Harry. Both Hermione and Tonks nodded their agreement.

"Hermione, Tonks, this is my wife, Lady Narcissa Potter-Black-Emrys and this is my son Draco Potter-Black," said Harry.

"It is a pleasure to finally meet you both," said Narcissa kindly. "Especially you nym - Tonks. I have wanted to meet you for a long time, but I have been too afraid to face my sister." Tonks looked at her for a second and then shrugged.

"She can be terrifying at times, so I can't blame you for that," said Tonks offering a small smile. Harry smiled at her gratefully for the offered olive branch. She nodded as she turned to Hermione who was staring at Draco in shock.

"Draco?" she whispered, looking back and forth between him and Harry. "He looks like you? So, he's actually your son now?"

"Yes," replied Harry.

"I -um-I," said Hermione, before just closed her mouth looking dumbstruck. Harry couldn't help but laugh.

"Why don't we all go sit down. I believe dinner is ready," said Narcissa. Hermione nodded and Harry led everyone into the kitchen. Once Kreacher gave everyone a plate of food and drinks were served, Harry began his story of the last month/twenty years. Draco paled as he talked about the night Narcissa had come to him and the ritual he had done to save her life that had bound them together. He told them about being kidnapped by the Flamels' and sent to train with the Druid. He was vague on his powers and abilities, but he answered all of their questions honestly. By the time Harry finished, dessert was gone, and everyone was sitting in silence consumed by their own thoughts.

"Wow," said Hermione. "If it was anyone else telling me that story, I would assume it was all some elaborate joke, but if I've learned anything being your friend all these years it is that anything can and will happen to you, so I guess this really isn't that surprising." Hermione chuckled and Harry breathed a sigh of relief.

So, you're 30 now? I guess that means you're not coming back to Hogwarts then?" Hermione asked suddenly. Harry could sense her disappointment even if he couldn't read her thoughts.

"I will be going to the ministry tomorrow to set up a time to take my NEWTs in private, but no I will not be attending Hogwarts anymore. It would be a little weird to have a 30-year-old sixth year," responded Harry. Hermione chuckled again.

"Yes I suppose. Will you be coming back Draco?" She asked turning to the boy sitting next to her.

"I haven't decided. I may stay here and get private tutors. It depends on how safe it is for me by then. Everyone in Slytherin house will know I defied the Dark Lord when I didn't take his mark, and they will think me a traitor by becoming a Potter," explained Draco. Hermione nodded.

"Well, couldn't you just get sorted into a different house?" asked Hermione.

"I suppose I could, but it's hard to imagine being in any house other than Slytherin. I am not smart enough to be a Ravenclaw and the thought of being in Hufflepuff makes me want to hurl," replied Draco.

"Hey!" shouted Tonks.

"I'm sorry cousin, no offense meant," said Draco with a slight bow.

"Hmm well, you are Harry's son now, so maybe you belong in Gryffindor," responded Hermione. Draco winced and everyone laughed.

"Salazar, I hope not," said Draco with a smirk. "Besides, think about it Granger. Do you really think I would be any better off in Gryffindor, where my dorm mates were just last year dorming with my father instead of me and I was his arch enemy? They will trust me even less than the Slytherins."

"I guess you're right," said Hermione with a sigh. "But, it would be nice to have at least one Potter to hang out with. I don't think I can tolerate Ron all year, all by himself." With the mood lightened they moved into the lounge where Draco and Hermione continued to talk animatedly. Narcissa and Tonks moved to speak quietly in the corner about her life growing up, and Harry was glad for Narcissa to have the opportunity to get to know her niece. He poured himself a glass of firewhiskey and sat down on the sofa, just as Hermione sat down next to him.

"So what are your plans now Harry?" Hermione asked in interest. She listened in rapt attention as he described his plans for the Wizengamot and some of the other things he worked on over the last twenty years. He left out his hunt for the Horcruxes and how exactly he planned to defeat Voldemort but he told her everything else. Hermione was stunned back into silence and spent the rest of the night sitting there thinking about everything he had said.

When her conversation with Narcissa was done, Tonks told Hermione they should probably leave, so Mrs. Weasley didn't worry too much. Hermione nodded and stood up from the sofa. Hermione hugged Harry, and then surprised everyone by also hugging Draco and Narcissa. Then she grabbed some floo powder and left for the Burrow.

"I'm having dinner with my parents on Sunday, perhaps you would both like to come," said Tonks once Hermione had left.

"I - we would love to," said Narcissa as tears welled in her eyes. "Thank you, Dora." Tonks nodded and then left. With the guests gone, Harry went to his office to finish up some things. Narcissa joined him and spent the time looking through the properties they already owned to see if there was somewhere suitable to live. Almost as soon as Harry got settled at his desk an owl flew in the window. He took the note and offered the owl some treats before it took off.

"It's from Neville. He and his gran will be here for lunch on Saturday. Is that convenient for you?"

"Oh good," said Narcissa looking up from her pile of papers with a genuine smile. "Yes, that's fine." Harry nodded and responded to Neville, confirming lunch on Saturday. When Harry started to nod off at his desk, Narcissa coaxed him up the stairs.

Early the next morning, Harry woke up and snuck out of bed with the jewelry he had taken from the Emrys vault. When he returned a half hour later, Narcissa was sitting up in bed with her arms crossed over her chest and a pout on her face.

"You know I don't like waking up and you've gone," said Narcissa continuing to pout. Harry laughed.

"Sorry love, but I think what I have for you will make up for it." Harry said as he walked over and kissed her firmly, then he handed her the wooden box he had been carrying.

'Is this whatever you were looking for in the vault?'

'Yes.' Narcissa opened it reverently and gasped when she saw what was inside. In the center was a tiara surrounded by earrings, a necklace and several bracelets that matched her Emrys house ring.

"They are exquisite," she said softly.

"The tiara is extra special. It belonged to..."

"Morgana," Narcissa said, having seen her memories, she remembered watching her make it herself.

"Yes, since it was hand-formed in Albion with Druid primal magic, it had enough essence of Albion for me to charm it to be a port key to allow you to return without the time charms Merlin used to create the rings. With this, you can go visit Ella as often as you want," said Harry with a smile.

"Thank you so much my love, it is the best gift I could have asked for. What about you?"

"Well, I may look a bit weird wearing a tiara, but I can use it too," responded Harry.

"But we can't go together?" said Narcissa disappointed.

"I have a plan for altering Merlin's charm on the rings, but for now this is the only one that won't pause time here." Narcissa nodded and then pulled him into a passionate kiss before thanking him properly. Remembering their promise to Draco to keep their morning activities confined to the bedroom, they only heading down to the kitchen when they heard Draco going down the stairs himself.

While they ate breakfast, Hedwig flew in with the Daily Prophet.

"Thanks girl," Harry said as he fed her a few strips of bacon. He opened it and read the front page. "That's much better," Harry said with a nod as he handed it to Narcissa who also looked it over with approval.

"They even used a flattering picture of me. I expected them to use the worst one they could find," said Narcissa.

"Come on Cissy," said Harry. "We both know you don't take a bad picture." Narcissa blushed and gave him a soft smile. Suddenly Harry winced in pain for a second before schooling his features.

'What's wrong love?" asked Narcissa worriedly.

"Apparently, Voldemort is a big fan of the article as well." Said Harry sarcastically as he tried to laugh but it came out as a grimace. Narcissa nodded, but her frown lingered. She had a bad feeling about this link with Voldemort.

After a hearty breakfast Harry and Narcissa apparated to London and then walked to the guest entrance of the ministry, since neither of them had employee access. They figured they would be off to a bad start if they tried to sneak in, so they decided to do it the proper way, even if it was a bit tedious. When they walked out of the telephone box with their name tags, they approached security.

"Wand please," said the young guard in a bored tone. Narcissa handed hers over with a smirk, knowing Harry was about to make a scene. The young guard looked up and his eyes widened in fear.

"Thank you Mrs. Mal—" but he was interrupted by a different name appearing in the wand registration. "Lady Potter-Black-Emrys?" Said the guard changing from a comment to a question mid-sentence as he looked up at her in surprise.

"Yes." She said with a raised eyebrow. The guard seemed to grow even more nervous as he stood and stuttered a request for Harry's wand.

"I would, but I don't have one," said Harry nonchalantly.

"You don't have a wand?" asked the guard incredulously.

"No, I broke it years ago using too much power and didn't bother replacing it. I don't have much use for one really. You can search me if you want," offered Harry as he put his arms out wide.

"Um -well -I - I - I don't think I'm allowed to let you in without a wand," responded the guard as looked around for help.

"Really? That seems like a silly rule. We are here to speak with Madam Amelia Bones anyways, so why don't you just call her down," suggested Harry good-naturedly. The guard seemed to pale at that but nodded. The guard urgently scribbled on a sheet of parchment and then sent it sailing through the air.

Harry and Narcissa waited patiently until suddenly a small contingent of Aurors walked out of a lift, Shacklebolt stopped abruptly when he saw them. He looked intently into Harry's eyes for a moment, his own widening with a spark of recognition.

"Harry?" he asked. Harry nodded. "When was the first time we met?"

"Last summer, when you came to rescue me from the Dursleys and bring me to 12 Grimmauld Place," responded Harry. Kingsley nodded.

"What can I do for you Harry," asked Kingsley.

"We need to speak to Madam Bones," Harry replied, bringing the Auror's attention to Narcissa. 'Why does everyone keep ignoring her, Tonks did the same thing.'

"Ah, Mrs M -

"Lady Potter-Black-Emrys," interrupted Harry. "My wife."

"Of course, this way," said Kingsley showing them into the lift, though he was still eyeing Narcissa suspiciously. Kingsley led them to Amelia's office and knocked firmly on the door.

"Come in," said a commanding voice that made Harry shiver, but not in an unpleasant way.

"Wait here a moment," said Kingsley as he went inside and shut the door firmly behind him. Kingsley walked out several minutes later and gestured for them to go inside.

"She's ready to see you," Kingsley said with a nod and then he walked away. Amelia watched them as they walked in and sat down.

"Harry Potter?" She asked skeptically once they were comfortable in their seats.

"Yes, although it is Potter-Black-Emrys now," he said with his signature grin as he flared his magic. He was surprised to see her pupils dilating in response as she firmly squeezed the arms of her chair. Narcissa, on the other hand, did not seem surprised and simply smirked knowingly. She had a feeling he would feel a pull towards Amelia. Other than the black sisters, she was the only witch in wizarding Britain nearly powerful enough to be compatible with his magic. Harry, much like Hermione the night before, was struck silent momentarily.

"You made quite the impression downstairs. You truly don't have a wand Lord Emrys?" Amelia asked.

"No, I learned to focus my magic well enough that I don't need a medium to channel it through anymore," he responded, slowly regaining his composure.

"Really? How fascinating," said Amelia as she leaned forwards towards him. "Is that something you can teach?"

"Well, it depends on how powerful you are," he said as he looked her over with a flirtatious smile. "I'm sure there are many things I teach you if you're up to the task."

'I'm sorry Harry, I love you, but that was awful. You seriously expect to woo her with lines like that?' Harry blushed and looked over at her sheepishly. 'Perhaps you should tell her why we are here and save the flirting for later, preferably once I've left. Although, I saw the look in her eyes. I'm sure if you flare your magic a few more times, she'll do whatever you ask her to.' Harry smirked at her and let out a soft chuckle before turning back to Amelia. She was eyeing them curiously.

"You can communicate with each other telepathically," she said in wonder.

"Yes," said Harry. "And that is definitely something I can teach." Amelia's eyebrows raised in surprise.

"Care to explain how you've aged fifteen years in a month, and where you have been? I don't buy the story in the Daily Prophet that you've been on your honeymoon, especially after seeing you here," said Amelia. Harry figured she was the kind of person that would see through any dishonesty, so he told her what happened as truthfully, but quickly as he could. There would be time to explain in more detail later, hopefully.

"I was fortunate to meet Nicholas and Perenelle Flamel about a month ago. They helped me claim my title as the heir of Emrys and gave me some of Merlin's heirlooms that allowed me to travel to Albion and train with the Druid, so that I could learn their ways and have the power to destroy Voldemort when I returned, doing that sort of froze time in this world while I was there, which is why I have aged so much but only a month has passed," he explained. Amelia's eyes were a little wider when he finished, but Harry was relieved to find that she had taken what he had said as the truth.

"Why have you been so focused on gaining the power to destroy Voldemort? Isn't that our job?" she asked. Harry tried not to laugh.

"No offense Madam Bones, but I'm not sure the Aurors are up to the task," Amelia scowled at him, clearly taking offense anyways. Harry switched gears before she got any more upset and chucked them out. "Remember last month when my friends and I fought Voldemort and some death eaters in the Department of Mysteries?" Amelia nodded and narrowed her eyes at him.

"We were there partly because Voldemort was trying to get his hands on a prophecy involving him and I. It had been prophesied many years ago that I would be the one to defeat him. I have never taken much stock in divination myself, but Voldemort believes it to be true, it is why he tried to kill me as a baby. I went and trained with the Druid because some day he will come looking for me to finish the job, and I am unwilling to just stand there and let him kill me, so I decided to be prepared instead," said Harry. Amelia nodded as her scowl lessened.

"Seems reasonable to me, I can't really argue with that. Though I would be interested to know why you think the Aurors are not up to the task, but we can save that for another day. So, why are you here to see me?" asked Amelia expectantly.

"I need to arrange to take my NEWTs in as much secrecy as possible, and I need to know when the next Wizengamot session is and get the keys, so Narcissa can take up my seats. Oh, and I have also spent a large majority of the last twenty years creating and perfecting a tactical training program that you might find worthwhile, but perhaps that would be better discussed over dinner?" Said Harry with a widening grin.

"Dinner? According to the Prophet you got married a month ago, after a second wife already Emrys?" replied Amelia with a smirk. Narcissa smiled at Amelia trying to pretend she wasn't interested. She decided to interrupt, so she could get what she needed and be on her way.

"When is the next Wizengamot session Madam Bones," Narcissa asked.

"Next Friday, Lady Emrys," replied Amelia.

"May I get the keys for the Potter, Black and Emrys chambers please, and will you ensure my seat claim is added to the agenda for the next meeting?" Amelia nodded and went to a large cabinet filled with keys. She easily located the right ones and handed them to Narcissa.

"Thank you Madam Bones, my business with you is concluded," said Narcissa. She leaned over and kissed Harry on the cheek and then stood up to leave. "I'll see you at home, dear. I have some other business to attend to. Good day, Amelia." She had no problem with Harry dating Amelia if that is what he wanted, but she had much better things to do then watch them flirt all morning. As she walked out the door, she thought about Harry's growing connection with Voldemort. Perhaps this was a good thing. She had a feeling they would need her help in the end.

Once Narcissa left Harry asked about his NEWTs.

"I can make the arrangements for you and have someone here to proctor your exams next week. I'll send you an owl with the details," said Amelia.

"I appreciate it, thank you. And dinner?" Amelia looked at him for a moment. Harry listened to her rambling thoughts and waited patiently for her to make up her mind.

'Is this some kind of joke? He definitely seems interested and Narcissa is clearly okay with it. I can't deny I'm attracted to him, and for some reason I feel like I can trust him, it feels right, but he's so much younger than - no he's not - we're practically the same age...why not. I haven't been on a date in ages. What harm is one dinner. I do have lots of questions.' Finally, Amelia nodded, and Harry stood with a beaming smile.

"Does Monday night work? I can pick you up at 6," said Harry. Amelia offered him a rare genuine smile.

"I look forward to it," she said.
