"Bro?" Ana asked looking to Christian. "That's your brother Elliot?" She asked in disbelief. Everyone was still sat in shock. Carla had no idea what to say and Ray didn't no whether to kill Elliot or his daughter. This was not a bombshell they were all expecting.
"Sadly. Yes." Christian whispered back to her before he passed Lily-Rose to Ana and got to his feet and looked to his brother as he moved closer "Did she say husband?" He asked gesturing to Kate. "You two are married? I didn't even know you were dating anyone."
"Dude it's a total fairy tale romance." Elliot mused smiling down to Kate. "We met on vacation and have been inseparable since. When it came to saying goodbye, we both knew it was something that we didn't want to happen. Being away from Kate…just the thought hurt. So…we decided to get married. We want to be together forever." He explained looking down to Kate.
Christian raised an eyebrow. His brother was never the settling down type. Mainly because he used to bring home a different girl every weekend. The fact he was now married to a girl after only knowing her a few weeks? I couldn't believe it right now.
"Anyway, what brings you here?" Elliot asked. "No offence but you are the last person I expected to find here." He chuckled before he looked down to Lily-Rose as she came over. Bending down he smiled. "You must be Lily-Rose. Your auntie Katie has told me so much about you and your mom and your uncle Luke."
Lily-Rose looked to Elliot, clearly not amused before she looked to Christian. "Daddy he talks too much." She complained before went back over to Ana.
Elliot's eyes widened as he stood up and looked to his brother. "No fucking way."
"Zip it." Christian warned looking to him. "And watch your mouth." He hissed at him.
"I'm going to put her down for a nap." Ana told Christian as she came over with Lily-Rose who was on the brink of falling asleep on her shoulder. "She's getting cranky. When I come back down it seems we all have a lot to talk about…" Looking to Elliot she offered a small smile before she headed inside with her tired daughter.
As soon as she was out of earshot, Elliot looked to Christian. "You've got a kid?!"
"You've got a wife?" Christian countered back.
"Okay why don't we all calm down." Came Luke's voice as he got out of the pool and looked to everyone. "Carla…why don't you and Kate get everyone fresh drinks and we will take this into the living room, that way when Ana comes back down, we will still be in earshot in case Lily-Rose wakes up." He suggested to everyone.
"Good idea." Ray grumbled as he quickly headed inside. To say he wasn't happy was an understatement.
Heading inside, Christian followed Luke over to the living room area and sat opposite his brother who wisely chose not to sit next to Ray. Thanking Carla as she handed him a new beer as she came in with fresh drinks he then looked up as Ana came back down. "She okay?" Christian asked.
Ana nodded as she sat next to him. "Yeah, it must be the heat. I've put the fan on to help keep her cool." She smiled to him before looking to Kate and Elliot who were sat next to each other while her mom sat on the arm rest of Ray's chair and Luke sat in the spare chair. No one said anything. "Okay I'll go first." Ana rolled her eyes and looked to her sister. "Kate this is Christian, Lily-Rose's father, Christian this is my sister Kate."
Kate looked to Christian before looking back to her sister. "Is he actually her father though? Or just someone you met with a nice bank account that you'll let her call daddy."
"Kate!" Ray boomed looking to his daughter. "That is out of line."
"No, it's okay dad." Ana commented glaring at her sister. "For your information. He is her biological father. The fact he came into our lives was nothing more than a coincidence and I haven't looked back since. Lily-Rose loves her dad and he loves her and that's all that matters. His 'nice bank account' as you put it has nothing to do with anything so you get that shit out of your head right now. I didn't go on vacation and end up married."
Kate scoffed. "No, you just got knocked up on a business trip."
As Ana went to get up, Christian stopped her.
"Enough!" Ray shouted looking to his daughters. "You two are supposed to be close." He looked to Kate. "You are out of line. Perhaps you'd like to go into detail on why you decided to get married on your vacation."
"Well it's like Elliot said." She shrugged looking lovingly to Elliot. "We met and were inseparable ever since. We fell in love. The thought of being away from one another was too painful…so we knew then we were meant to be together forever."
"And you didn't think to call us to tell us?" Carla asked. She was clearly hurt by her daughter's actions. She wanted to be there for her daughter on her wedding day.
"We did it on impulse." Kate explained with a shrug. "We didn't mean to hurt anyone…to be honest none of that crossed our minds…in the moment all that mattered was us and we wanted to do what made us happy. Besides. I didn't know we'd be coming home to find out that my new brother in law is in fact my niece's father."
Elliot looked to his brother. "You've got a lot to explain."
Christian raised an eyebrow. "Okay. Ana and I spent the night together…nine months later Lily-Rose was born. I didn't know about her until the other day. Now I'm spending time with my daughter and getting to know Ana more. The end."
"Have you told mom and dad?"
"Not yet. I'll be doing that in person. Have you?"
Elliot laughed. "No way. Dad would have a heart attack." He looked to Ana. "Why didn't you tell him he had a kid?"
"At the time I thought it was what was best."
"So why didn't you just tell us who he was then?" Kate asked looking to her. "Why keep him a secret?"
"Frankly because it was no one's business. I made the decision to keep Christian's identity a secret because I didn't need you or anyone else in this family to constantly give me lectures. From the moment I found out I was pregnant all you did was give me grief. What would you have done if I had told you that Christian Grey was in fact the father of my unborn child?" She asked looking to her sister. It was no secret that over the years their relationship had become strained and they weren't as close as they were before. "The only regret I have is not telling Christian because seeing how Lily-Rose has bonded with him and loves him as if he's been here her whole life. I love you Kate that will never change but from the moment I found out I was pregnant you've been nothing but a complete bitch to me and when you are like this, I really don't like you. The only thing I'm glad is that you actually do show my daughter affection and she loves you." She shook her head and got to her feet and headed upstairs. She needed to be with her daughter knowing she would calm her.
Ray looked to Kate. "You and Ana need to sort this mess out. You've been at each other's throats for too long and I will not have this feud in this family any longer." He told her firmly. "Now. I'm not happy about your decision to get married and not even tell us but it's happened now and I hope to God that this is the real deal and six months down the line we are not going to be in a messy divorce battle." He looked to Elliot before looking to his daughter once more. "You're a grown-up Kate. It's time you start acting like it. I suggest you go upstairs and talk to your sister and I don't want to see either of you until it's sorted."
"But…"
"No buts." Ray cut in. "Today was supposed to be a lovely day. Now it still can be despite your shocking announcement but you and Ana need to put your difference aside. I have spoke to Christian and I have seen the way he has been with Lily-Rose and I am happy and satisfied about having him join this family, mainly because despite everything he loves that little girl and deep down I know he loves your sister. Now when you go upstairs, I will be having a little word with your husband so I suggest you move. Now."
Kate looked to her father before she then looked to Elliot who smiled and nodded to her. "Go. Everything will be fine." He promised kissing her cheek.
Kate nodded before she reluctantly headed upstairs. She was in no situation to be messing with her father right now. She could tell he was pissed. Going up to the spare room that Ana used when she was over with Lily-Rose she stood in the doorway and watched as Ana gently stroked Lily-Rose's little cheek, but still being careful not to wake her. Watching them both for a few minutes she then sighed as she stepped into the bedroom and moved over to the bed. Laying down on the other side of Lily-Rose so she could see her sister. "I'm sorry." She whispered to her before sighing. "It's just when we were growing up, we were inseparable….and then when you pregnant and wouldn't tell me who the father was…it hurt." She admitted to her. "I thought we told each other everything."
Ana sighed as she looked to her sister. "It's not that I didn't want to tell you…it's just it was easier. I knew how successful Christian was…it was easier not to tell anyone about him and easier not to tell him about Lily-Rose. I didn't want to be labelled as a…. billionaire trapping whore. I thought I was making the right decision but I now know that I was wrong. He should have been there." She whispered looking down to her sleeping daughter. "I just want what is best for her."
"I know and I'm sorry. I should have been more supportive and I'm sorry I wasn't." Kate whispered to her. "I love you both. I'm sorry about what I said downstairs. I was out of line. Guess I wasn't really expecting to ever meet her dad…" She chuckled. "We are a right pair, aren't we? Though got to admit the odds of us falling for brother's…well it's spooky."
"Do you love him?" Ana asked looking to her. "I mean…you went on vacation for three weeks…"
"I do…I know it might seem crazy…. but the way I feel about Elliot…I can't describe it. I've never felt this way about anyone. Hence why we knew it was right." She looked to Ana. "What about you and Christian?" She asked curiously.
"We are taking it slow." Ana whispered. "For her sake." She gestured to Lily-Rose. "But we are getting closer…the chemistry. Well just ask Luke." She rolled her eyes before looking to her. "I don't want to fight with you anymore. I miss my sister."
"I miss you too." Kate whispered before she took her sister's hand and gave it a gentle squeeze before looking to Lily-Rose as she started to shift slightly. As her eyes opened, Kate smiled. "Hey princess."
"Hi's auntie Katie." Lily-Rose replied as she stretched in the bed. Grinning to her mother she then looked to her aunt once more. "Auntie Katie that man talks too much." She told her. "He gives me a baddy head."
Kate couldn't help but laugh. "I know he does but you'll get used to him."
"Mommy I need a wee." Lily-Rose told her as she sat up.
"Come on then." Ana got off the bed and took Lily-Rose to the bathroom, glad her parents had bought a potty. Letting Lily-Rose do her business she smiled as she got up.
"Finished."
"Good girl." Ana smiled passing her some tissue, waiting until she had finished wiping before she cleaned out the potty before lifting her up to help her wash her hands. Kissing her head as she was done, she followed Lily-Rose back into the bedroom where Kate was waiting for them.
"I dids a wee on the potty auntie Katie!" Lily-Rose told her with a grin.
"You did? Good girl!" She praised kissing her head. "You're turning into such a big girl."
Lily-Rose grinned to her before pouting. "I's hungry."
"Shall we go see if there's any food ready for us downstairs?" Ana asked opening her arms up.
Lily-Rose nodded jumping into her mother's arms.
"Coming?" Ana asked her sister before she made her way downstairs, Kate following behind her.
"I's up!" Lily-Rose declared as she saw everyone in view and gave them a wave before running over to her grandmother as Ana put her down. "Gwandma I'm hungry."
Carla smiled down to her granddaughter. "Well grandpa will be starting the barbeque up soon but how about I make you a little snack?" She suggested to her.
"Yes pwease." Lily-Rose gave a firm nod before going over to her dad. "Daddy I dids another wee wee on the potty." She told him proudly climbing into his lap.
"You did? Wow princess! I'm so proud of you." He praised as he bought her onto his lap. Looking to his brother who was smirking to him he glared at him. "Zip it."
Lily-Rose looked to Elliot. "Yeahs. Zip it. You talks too much." She told him snuggling into her dad.
Ana burst out laughing before she headed to the kitchen to help her mother.
Christian smirked down to his daughter before he poked his tongue out to Elliot before he looked down to Lily-Rose. "Princess, you remember when I told you I have a brother called Elliot?"
Lily-Rose nodded. "Uncle Lelliot."
"Well…Auntie Katie's new husband…" She pointed to Elliot. "He's actually my brother. That's my brother Elliot." He explained. He didn't want her to get too confused, even though the whole situation was complicated enough.
"That's Uncle Lelliot? That's you tolds me about?" Lily-Rose asked, needing confirmation.
Christian nodded. "That's right. And you are right. He does talk way too much."
Lily-Rose giggled before she looked over to her Uncle. She eyed him up and down slightly before looking to her dad. "Wills all his talking hurt my head all the time?" She asked exasperated.
Christian laughed. "No. You were just a little tired." He kissed her head. "Why don't you give him a high five?" He suggested sensing she was still a bit weary of him.
Nodding she climbed down from his lap and went over to him. Standing in front of him she held her hand up. "High five!" She beamed. As Elliot went to touch her hand, she quickly moved it. "Yous too slow!" She giggled.
Elliot's mouth dropped. He was being dissed by a three-year-old! "You're a cheeky monkey, aren't you?"
"Yep and don'ts you forgets it." She sassed back before giggling as she climbed on his lap. "Will you plays glitter with me one day?" She asked.
Moving his arm securely around as she climbed into his lap he smiled and nodded. "Sure. That sounds like fun. Can auntie Katie come too?" He asked. Looking to her closely now, he could see she was a perfect mixture of Ana and Christian.
Lily-Rose nodded. "Of course. Auntie Katie does the bestest glitters. I loves it when she puts it in my hair." She grinned.
"Yeah? Do I get to have glitter in my hair?" He then asked, happy to play along.
Lily-Rose nodded. "Yes. Your hair is very long." She told him as she reached and played with a lock of it. "Can we play hairdressers like I does with mommy? I twied with Uncle Lukey but his hair is too short." She huffed with a roll of her eyes.
"Sure. Though you mustn't cut all my hair off. My head will get cold without my hair."
Lily-Rose giggled. "It's only pretend!" She laughed.
"Baby come and sit by daddy to eat your snacks please." Ana called as she came in with a small plate.
"I's be back otay?" She told him before she jumped down and ran over to Christian, happily sitting next to him. Seeing her plate of snacks, her eyes widened before she grinned and looked to her dad. "They is the bestest snacks ever!" She squealed before she then grinned as Ana pulled her little table over and put it in front of her. "Thank you, mommy. THANK YOU GWANDMA!" She shouted to her grandmother.
"You are welcome my baby!" Carla called back to her before she bought in a palette of snacks for everyone else and put it on the coffee table in the centre of the room.
Lily-Rose grinned before she happily began tucking into her snacks. It was only some fruit and cheese with some breadsticks and dip but Lily-Rose was in her element.
"So, Elliot what do you do?" Ana asked as she sat next to Lily-Rose.
"I run my own construction company." He told her with a smile. "I've built buildings all over Seattle including my own home."
Ana raised an eyebrow. "You built your own home? That's impressive."
"Thank you." He mused with a smile to her. "Don't get me wrong it took a long time until it was exactly how I like it but it's perfect now."
"I can't wait to see it." Kate mused with a grin.
"You're going to be moving to Seattle?" Carla asked. Although she was always supportive of her children, she loved having them close. The thought of them moving…well it did make her a little sad.
Kate nodded. "Yes. It's too hard to try and run my own bakery here. Every street you walk down there's a bakery or doughnut shop. I'm not going to last two minutes. Seattle is a fresh start. Most of my clients from Portland worked in Seattle so I'm sure they'll be happy I'm back." She offered a small smile to her mother. "Seattle isn't that far…"
"I know…but it's just been nice having you all in one place for so long." She smiled. "I'm happy for your sweetheart. And we can always come and visit."
"What about you guys?" Kate then asked looking to Christian and Ana. "Have you decided what your plans are? Will you move here Christian? Or are you coming to Seattle too?" She asked looking to her sister.
Ana sighed. "We haven't gone into great detail about it yet. We've just been using this opportunity to reconnect and for Lily-Rose to get to know her father."
"I have no issues moving here." Christian told her with a shrug. "My company headquarters can be moved. Lily-Rose is in a routine here and she has friends and school…I don't want to disrupt that."
Ana smiled softly to him. The fact that he was willing to uproot his life to move here for her, made her heart swell for him. She looked to her sister and smiled. "We'll do what is best for Lily-Rose when the time comes."
"Enough of this heavy stuff." Ray huffed. "Let's get this barbeque going."
"Good shout dad, I'm starving." Luke commented jumping to his feet and following his dad out to the garden.
"Mommy cans I watch Frozen on your phone?" Lily-Rose then asked. "I don't wants to play in the garden yet, I'm still eating my snacks."
"My phone is on charge baby…"
"Here." Christian said pulling out his phone. "Just use mine. There's a Netflix app on there."
Ana smiled as she took Christian's phone and loaded the film up. "What do you say to daddy Lily-Rose."
"Thank you, daddy." She smiled as she climbed on the sofa and got comfy. "Daddy can you pass me my snacks pwease?"
Christian smiled as he watched her get comfy before he then grabbed her plate for her and put it on the sofa beside her.
"Here you go baby. We're going to go in the garden okay?"
"Otay." Lily-Rose replied taking the phone from her mother and held onto it tightly as the film began.
"Taylor will be around if you need anything okay?" Christian whispered to her as he kissed her head.
"Otay daddy."
Christian smiled before he got up along with Ana as they followed the rest of the family out to the garden where Ray was putting meat on the barbeque.
"Give it two minutes and you'll hear her singing at the top of her lungs." Ana laughed with a shake of her head before she took a seat in the lounge chair closer to the door so she could keep an ear out and make sure her daughter was behaving. She knew Taylor was wondering around, but he wasn't her baby sitter.
Sitting next to Ana, Christian smiled as he then chatted away to his brother as he sat next to him, moving his hand to Ana's, he interlocked their fingers loosely while Ana chatted to her mother.
Happily humming away to the film, Lily-Rose ate away at her snacks, as the phone began to ring, Lily-Rose frowned a little before she then turned the phone around properly and slid the button across, knowing it was a facetime. She was always facetiming everyone. "Hello daddy's phone, Lily-Rose speaking how mays I helps you?" She answered before smiling seeing the woman on the screen. "Hi!"
"Oh hello…oh dear have I rang the wrong number?"
"This is my daddy's phone. He lets me watch a films on it cause mommy's phone is charging. I was watching Frozen but then you rungs." She giggled before she tilted her head slightly. "Who are you? You are very pretty!"
"Well my name is Grace…I'm looking for my son, Christian."
She gasped and looked to her wide eyed, bringing the phone closer to her face. "You're daddy's mommy? My daddy is called Christian." She asked. "You're my gwandma?"
"Uh sir…" Came Taylor's voice as he poked his head into the garden. He had just walked the perimeter when he came back and heard Lily-Rose talking on the phone. "We have a little situation…"
Looking to Taylor he frowned slightly. "What is it?"
"It seems while I was doing a perimeter check you got a facetime call…and well. Lily-Rose is currently on facetime with your mother."
"Daddy!" Came Lily-Rose's voice as she came bouncing out into the garden with the phone tightly in her hand. "Daddy it's your mommy on the phones!" She told him as she passed him the phone.
Christian looked to Taylor shocked before he looked to Ana and then Elliot who was dying to laugh. "Thank you, princess." Christian replied to Lily-Rose before watching her climb into Ana's lap before he took a deep breath and bought the phone up so he could see his mother and she was a mix of confused…and painfully white. "Mom…"
"Christian…want to tell me what the hell is going on and why that adorable little girl is calling you her daddy?"
Christian rubbed the back of his neck a little. This was not how he wanted to introduce Lily-Rose to his mother but he guessed there was no time like the present!
