It had been a week since the incident with the fire and finally Ana was being released from the hospital, to the joy and relief of everyone. The first couple of days were hard and Ana was really poorly. Christian nor Lily-Rose had left Ana's side, though Ana had repeatedly told them to go when she was feeling a bit better but Christian refused and when Christian refused, Lily-Rose refused. They both wanted to be by Ana's side. Luckily thanks to Christian's credit card and a large donation the hospital was more than happy to accommodate their request and bought in a spare bed for Christian to sleep in while Lily-Rose took it in turns sleeping with either her mother or her father. A few times Christian had insisted Lily-Rose bunked with him due to Ana's wires but Ana assured him it was fine and happily cradled their baby girl all night.
"Are you sure you are feeling okay?" Christian asked looking to Ana as she potted around her room to gather up the rest of her things. Over the last week Christian has encouraged Lily-Rose to get to know her new grandparents. Grace, she took to straight away due to their facetime incident but she was still a little wary of Carrick, but they put it down to the accident making Lily-Rose anxious still. But right now, she was with Carrick and Grace and Luke. They had all gone out for ice cream while Christian got Ana out of the hospital and settled into her parents' home. While Carrick and Grace had booked into a hotel room nearby, for the next couple of days, Christian would be staying with Ana and Lily-Rose at her parent's place until they moved to Seattle.
"I'm fine. Stop worrying." Ana told him with a soft smile as she packed up the last of her stuff. She was dressed in simple joggers and a hoody with a pair of sneakers. Zipping up her bag, she then turned and looked to Christian. "Have they found him yet?" She asked. When Christian had told her it was Jose, Ana was surprised…but at the same time she wasn't. She always knew that Jose had a psycho streak deep down.
Christian shook his head and sighed a little. "Not yet. He's on the run, but don't worry. I have the best looking for him along with the police. He won't get away with it." He reassured her before he moved closer to her and wrapped his arms around his waist. "He'll never find us when we go." He promised kissing her head. "This time next week we will be in Seattle and he won't have a clue on where to find you or Lily-Rose."
Ana nodded a little. "Mom said that they had found a place near where you suggested. They're actually excited about moving back to Seattle. Luke is going to crash with them until he finds a job then look for his own place." She told him with a smile.
Christian smiled. "Good. You must be glad that your parents have decided to move back to?" He asked, already thinking about a job for Luke, though he wanted to run it by him first and if he was happy to accept, he would then speak to Ana about it.
Ana nodded. "Yeah. It'll be nice to have them close, plus with Kate there too it will be like the family is back together again like it should just with a few extra additions." She mused with a smirk referring to the Grey clan. "Plus, I want to try and get Lily-Rose back into routine as soon as we get back. She's all over the place at the moment."
"She's getting there." Christian told her as looked down to her and tightened his arms around her. "I just can't wait to get you both back to my place…though I think over the next couple of days maybe we should look for a house?" He suggested to her.
Ana raised an eyebrow. "A house? I thought that you have an apartment?"
"I do." He confirmed "But it's on a top floor…it's not exactly child friendly and I know how much she wants to have a garden…there are a few places I've had my eye on but we should look at them together…" He shrugged a little. "I don't want my apartment to bring up bad memories for Lily-Rose or you…I mean what if she associates the building like the hotel? I don't want to end up distressing her."
Ana couldn't help but smile as she leant up and kissed him. He was so thoughtful. "You're amazing you know that?" She smiled up to him. "When she goes down tonight, we will look at what you have found."
"They're all close to schools and stuff. We can research which is the best school."
Ana smirked. "Are you always this organised?"
Christian smirked back. "Only the best for my girls."
Ana smirked to him before she happily pulled him down for a heated kiss.
Christian happily kissed her back, before groaning as he felt her hands travelling down his back. Breaking the kiss, he pressed his forehead to hers. "We keep this up and we will never leave this hospital room." He whispered. "And it's been a long time…I'll need to savour every second of it." He whispered as he pressed a kiss to her neck.
"You keep talking like that and we won't be leaving the bedroom anytime soon." She whispered, pecking him once more before she turned and grabbed her stuff. Over the last couple of days, the sexual tension between them was intensified and at an all-time high.
"Can't wait." He mused pressing a kiss to her neck once more before he then took her bag from her and moved it over his shoulder. "Let's get you out of here." He smiled and held out his hand for her.
Ana smiled and took his hand, interlocking their fingers as they headed out of the hospital room. Seeing Taylor, she smiled. "Hey Taylor."
Taylor gave a nod. "Miss Ana. Glad to see you up and about."
Ana smirked. "More like you're glad I'm going home so you can sleep in a decent bed tonight?" She mused to him.
"No comment." Taylor mused back to her before he then looked between Christian and Ana. "Luke has informed me that they will be leaving the ice cream parlour within the next half hour."
"And how is Lily-Rose?" Christian enquired knowing that Lily-Rose wanted to come to the hospital with him but Luke managed to bribe her with a treat later on.
"She's fine, sir. Luke said she has asked when you will be home on a number of times, but he has managed to placate her long enough for them to enjoy their ice cream."
Christian gave a nod before he smiled down to Ana. "Let's get you home. Your mom said she'd make mac and cheese for dinner." He beamed with a cheeky grin to her.
"Lily-Rose's favourite." Ana smiled as she then curled into Christian's side as they headed out of the hospital and to Christian's car. Climbing in the back with him, she stayed curled into his side while Taylor drove them home. If anything, she couldn't wait to get home and curl into bed with Christian and Lily-Rose. She was looking forward to having a good night's sleep if anything.
Christian smiled down Ana and pressed a soft kiss to her head as he held her close to him. As Taylor pulled up outside the house, they arrived just in time for Luke to arrive back with Lily-Rose and his parents. Getting out of the car, he helped Ana out before looking up as he heard Lily-Rose.
"Mommy!" She screamed as she bounced over to her mother and wrapped her arms tightly around her legs.
Scooping up her daughter, Ana pressed a kiss to her head and held her close. "I'm here princess. You're okay." She promised.
"Me missed you mommy."
"I missed you too." She smiled. "But did you have a nice time with uncle Luke, grandma and grandpa?"
Lily-Rose nodded. "Gwandpa Cawwick is funny." She giggled looking to her. "He tells me lots of jokes."
"He did? Well maybe you'll have to tell me some later."
"Let's get you inside." Christian mused as he moved his arm around Ana and held both his girls close to him as they headed inside. Going in they were immediately hit with the smell of cooking.
"Gwandma Carla! Gwandpa Way! We's home!" Lily-Rose shouted looking around for her grandparents.
Coming out from the kitchen area, wiping her hands in the tea towel, Carla beamed at her daughter. "Hello darling, how are you feeling?" She asked making her way over to Ana and pressing a kiss to her cheek.
Ana couldn't help but roll her eyes. "I'm fine I promise." She told her with a soft smile as she kicked off her shoes in the hallway and walked more into the living room.
"Good. Now the bedroom is all set up, we have moved Lily-Rose's bed in with yours, though I have a feeling she won't be sleeping in it, but she did tell me to move it in there." She chuckled and smiled before she looked to Carrick and Grace. "Welcome to our home, can I get you anything? Tea or coffee?" She asked looking to them.
Grace shook her head. "No thank you Carla. We are going to head back to the hotel, let Ana settle in."
"Well why don't you come by later for dinner? It's only mac and cheese but it's Ana and Lily-Rose's favourite."
Grace smiled. "It's Christian's favourite too." She mused before nodding. "We'd love to join."
"Six o'clock?" Carla asked with a smile.
"Perfect." Grace beamed before she smiled to Lily-Rose. "We shall see you later gorgeous girl." She cooed before giving Ana's arm a gentle squeeze. "Take it easy. Make sure my son is waiting on you hand and foot." She winked to her.
Ana smirked. "You know I will."
"We shall see you later." Carrick told them with a smile, giving his son a pat on the back before he walked out of the house with Grace in toe. They really were a lovely family.
"Where's dad?" Ana asked looking to her mother.
"Well he's upstairs sorting out Kate's old room for Taylor." She rolled her eyes. "He's making it 'manly' apparently to make Taylor feel comfortable."
Ana raised an eyebrow. "He is aware Taylor was in the military right? I highly doubted he would have been bothered sleeping in a girl's room when he's probably slept in worse."
"Oh, you know what your father is like. I put fresh sheets on but that wasn't enough. He's been fussing since we found out you were coming home. He was even debating on putting an en-suite in your room so you didn't have to walk far."
"Where exactly? There's hardly room for an en-suite. I'm surprised you got Lily-Rose's bed in it along with mine."
"That's the exact point I made to him." Carla mused with a smile before smiling as she saw Taylor come into view. "Hello Taylor. Now Ray has set up an area in his office for you."
"I don't mind staying at a hotel…"
"Nonsense. You're important to Christian, therefore important to us." Carla told him with a smile. "Ray is going to be busy faffing upstairs all afternoon so feel free to do whatever you do."
Taylor looked to Christian.
Christian nodded. "You heard the woman. We'll call if we need anything." He reassured him.
Taylor gave a nod to his boss before heading down towards the office. Ray had shown him his office a couple of days ago when they were going through houses to buy in Seattle as well as planning on finding Jose, though neither Carla or Ana knew of that plan.
"Byes Taylor!" Lily-Rose shouted giving him a wave before she moved her arms tightly around her mother's neck, refusing to let her go.
Ana smiled to her daughter before she then looked to her. "How about we go and have a nap?" She suggested to her.
Lily-Rose nodded. "Yes please."
Ana smiled to her before she looked to her mother. "Wake us in an hour or so?"
Carla smiled and nodded. "No problem. Tell your father to keep the noise down."
"Comes on daddy! It's nap time!" Lily-Rose beamed to her father.
Christian laughed and smiled. Although he wasn't even tired, he wasn't going to pass up an opportunity to just hold his girls while they slept. Following Ana upstairs into their room, he chuckled as Lily-Rose greeted her grandfather.
"Gwandpa, we's going for a nap. Gwandma said you must be quiet so we can go sleepies." She simply told him snuggling into her mother.
Ray frowned a little at his granddaughter. "When did you get so bossy? Fine I shall go and have a coffee and when you wake up, I'll come back up." Poking his tongue out to her he kissed Ana's cheek. "Make sure you take it easy." He told her before looking to Christian. "You have my permission to tie her to the bed."
"Dad!" Ana looked to him mortified. Did he seriously just say that?!
Ray chuckled. "If it means you'll be off your feet and getting proper rest then he can by all means tie you to the bed. Doctor said take it easy. Not going a hundred miles an hour like you normally are. Rest." He told her once more before he headed downstairs. He could tell Ana looked tired as well as embarrassed from his comment but he couldn't help but laugh.
"Must say it is tempting," Christian mused smirking to Ana.
"Don't even think about it." Was Ana's blunt reply.
Christian laughed and followed Ana into the bedroom and smiled seeing Lily-Rose's little bed before he looked to Lily-Rose. "You going to get into your bed?" He asked her even though he already knew the answer. Lily-Rose hadn't let Ana go since they arrived home.
"Erm no. I'ms going to sleep with yous and mommy so we can have lots of cuddles." She told him matter of factly.
Ana couldn't help but smile as pulled the covers back before climbing into the bed. Kissing Lily-Rose's head she then laid her down in the middle of the bed and took her shoes off for her and tossed them on the floor while Christian kicked off his shoes and climbed in the other side.
"Comes daddy." She beamed to him.
Christian smiled laying down next to Lily-Rose, as Ana laid down, he then pulled the covers over them, his arm draping over his girls, smiling as Lily-Rose snuggled into him, a small yawn passing her tiny lips.
"Mommy comes closer." Lily-Rose demanded as she grabbed her arm and tugged her a little wanting her closer to her.
"Alright miss bossy pants." Ana laughed as she moved to lay on her side and scooted closer, moving her arm around her daughter's tiny waist, making sure her chest was flush to Lily-Rose's back so Lily-Rose knew that Ana was there. She loved the contact and if it kept Lily-Rose happy she was happy.
Christian smiled, his arm moving over Ana more before he looked down to Lily-Rose who was already half asleep.
"If you have stuff to do…" Ana began looking to him. She knew he was probably be behind on work and she would understand if he needed to spend a few hours in the office to catch up.
Christian shook his head. "You two are the most important right now. Everything else can wait. Sleep." He whispered to her
Ana smiled to him, not having the energy to answer him back before she let her own eyes fall to a close as she stayed cuddled close to Lily-Rose knowing she liked to feel that she was close.
Christian couldn't help but smile as he watched his two girls. They looked so peaceful. It was now that he was watching them both that he could see they were a lot alike. He initially thought that Lily-Rose looked like him but now seeing how relaxed she was asleep alongside Ana he could see Ana's features in her. Though he had to admit, the girl had eyelashes that would give any model envy! They were so long!
Deciding to follow in his girls' footsteps he let his own eyes fall to a close as he joined them in a nap. He had never been one for napping but hospital beds were not the comfiest and now being in this bed with Ana he could feel the tension leaving his body and he could finally somewhat relax. Of course, he was still anxious about Jose seeing as they couldn't find him right now but he knew in less than a weeks' time they would be gone and hopefully by then the creep would be caught. He did tell Taylor to give him five minutes with him but Taylor being Taylor, reminded him that he had to remember he had a daughter and he wasn't to do anything that would risk his relationship with her. While Ana probably wouldn't care if he beat the shit out of him, the police however might have a different view and he doubted he could sway them with his money. So, for now, he was on the back burner, letting his team do what they do best while he was the two girls who had completely stole his heart.
