"I told them outright it was downright absurd you'd think to steal Purdy's puppies. After all, you're the one that gifted her to me in the first place." A tearful Anita sniffed clutching the phone with shaking hands. "And Pongo to Roge. It's just outrageous."

Cruella simply smiles at her friend from behind the separating glass of the visitor's window. "I'm not worried at all Darling." She promises with a dazzling smile "but I am pleased both of you can see past this fowl attempt to slander my good name."

"The Baroness picked the wrong family to mess with that's for sure." Anita grumbles "but Roger is already working on this. Don't worry."

"How are my boys?" Cruella questioned by way of a topic change as she shifted into a more comfortable position in her chair.

"Buddy did a right number on Jaspers fingers. The doc says it will be a few days till he's healed enough to play."

Cruella clicks her tongue with a sad sigh at the news "and Horace?"

Anita chuckles a little. "Already looking for an angle—whatever that means." The reporter admits but Cruella could tell by the look in her eyes her friend wasn't as foolish as she was playing to be.

"Tell the goof to stop it else he will miss his favorite football match." The designer offers

The back-and-forth quiets as the door opens allowing Roger to trip his way into the visor's side of the room much to Cruella and the guard's amusement. Anita's smile was more adoring than amused

"We have a problem." The lawyer announces running the hand not holding his briefcase through his hair in obvious upset.

"Jaz told me to expect something like this." Cruella sighs "Let's have it then."

Rather than answer Roger begins pulling files and papers from his briefcase with a guilty "well it's not that simple considering now they have more a reason to keep you longer than a night as they'd originally thought." Cruella's interest peaked when even upside down she spotted Estella's name at the top of a few of the pages now being lined up on the other side of the window. "It would seem Lady Hellman is asking the courts to look into just what your claim is to what she still calls her estate."

Cruella plasters on a smile "my dear friend Estella-" she begins to explain but Roger was already shaking his head at that.

"That's just it, El." Anita jumps in also looking over a few of the pages over her husband's shoulder "according to the lawyers she retained she claims that the certificate Estella used to claim the house, the title, all of the Barron's assets really was forged."

"Preposterous." Cruella scoffed but even the guards could see the fashion designer visibly paling at the very idea at anymore digging between her and her benefactor.

"Not entirely Miss." Roger denies "Considering her less than honest application for-" he started pointing with his pen toward what had once been Estella's references for Liberty of London.

"I can read thanks." Cruella growled but let out a shaky breath with an apologizing "sorry,"

The bearded lawyer simply smiles in understanding. "I'd be upset too if someone went after a friend of mine like this."

"Dear Estella was more of a sister, you could say she and I were practically twins from time to time." Cruella nodes seeing Anita's barely concealed smile at that.

Rather than give a verbal remainder the officer on Cruella's side of the glass clears his throat in warning signaling their time was almost up. Roger was already putting a few of the files he'd just started taking out back into his case.

"Yes, well must dash." Cruella taking the warning in stride as she stands from her chair unable to hide the shiver at the ominous clinking of the handcuffs at her wrists. "Send my love to my boys, won't you?"

Anita nodes "Buddy especially." She promises knowing how close those two were. Even when they'd been younger.

Cruella gives a sad smile as she feels the guard's leading hand against her elbow "You're a Jem my darling." then her eyes find Roger's "We'll be in touch, keep up the good work."

Roger smile in thanks "I promise." he vows "you won't spend more than tonight behind bars I promise you, Miss Cruella." The lawyer turned songwriter says.
