"With great power, comes great responsibility."

That's what Benjamin Parker told his nephew 3 years ago just hours before his death and on that very night Benjamin's nephew vowed to live by that saying for the rest of his ever remaining life, why did he choose to do this? Because also in that night the nephew would run into the very man who would go on to shoot his uncle, the man was a burglar, a petty thief the nephew thought of him and it was that very line of thinking that caused the nephew to let the man go, telling the man he robbed something among the lines of "I missed the part where that's my problem."

Even though he had the power to, the nephew chose not to stop the burger and thus, fate punished him for it via a bullet in his uncle's gut, feeling a sense of responsibility for his uncle's death, the nephew chose to live by his uncle saying the rest of his life, with the question "what would Ben do?" often passing through his thoughts.

The nephew's name was Peter Parker and exactly 3 years ago today, through a spider bite he had gained extraordinary abilities in which after the passing of his uncle he vowed to only use them for good and to protect the innocent from harm, but where is he now, especially only a few days before the anniversary of his uncle's death?

Well like always, Peter is late to school and is currently swinging through the city at high speeds to get to class as fast as he can. Peter is 17 now and a senior in high school with his birthday only a month away, however, due to his activities of the superhero/vigilante Spider-Man, he always found himself to be late in some shape or form, but the crazy part was that even when he wasn't having a busy morning, he always managed to find some way to be tardy, you can try to change something a million times but if it doesn't stick the first time, it never will.

Right as he touched down on the bridge, his phone started going off in his pocket, he stopped halfway across the bridge momentarily to pull out his phone to check who was annnnnd it was none other than Ava Ayala, otherwise known as The White Tiger or as Peter would like to call her and what he thought her superhero name would ought to be "the crazy hormonal teenage girl with an amulet that grants her abilities similar to one of the most dangerous big cats on the planet" and he would suggest the name to her to her face, but he figured it was too long and he also kinda valued living.

Considering his options, Peter reluctantly decided to answer his phone, only people met with the ferocious fury of his former teammate. "PARKER! Where the hell are you?! You're about to be 15 minutes late to class, honestly, how is it that you can travel through the city way faster than we can, yet we still get here before you, ON TIME I might add?!"

He began swinging again with the phone to his ear and his mask halfway up his face so he could actually hear her, who knew holding conversation with someone without earpieces in your mask would be so difficult? "Ava, calm down. Don't worry, I'm on my way and if you're so worried about me, please note that I just touched down on Manhattan and if some random d-list supervillain doesn't decide to enact their evil plan today, then I'll be in Midtown in about 5 minutes give or take."

But just then, an explosion at the bank went off and at that moment, Peter was silently cursing himself and his big mouth. "Well if you tempt fate hard enough." He thought to himself, as Ava began questioning what was going on over at his end, so now he needed to give her a quick run down before hanging up. "Explosion. Likely Grand theft. People in danger. Will try to wrap up as quickly as possible. Buh bye."

"Wait! Peter, N-", he heard right before pressing the end call button, he knew that was likely going to be his ass, but it didn't matter right now, they were thieves to stop and people to save, she'll understand right? "Ugh, Ava gonna kill me." He thought right as he swung into the direction of the bank robbery and if he's quick enough, maybe he could beat his top record time of 7 minutes. Even though he didn't want to acknowledge it, Peter knew that his day was only just starting.

Midtown High, New York City, NY.

Monday, September 6th, 8:47 a.m.

Actually making it to school on time, Ava could be found in the girls locker room, making the excuse to her biology teacher that she needed to grab her notes from her locker, but when in reality, she actually used her time there to call Peter and just as he guessed, she was pissed, not only because he was late once again, but also because he had just hung up on her, truth be told she didn't know why she was angry he was late, this was an everyday occurrence and it wasn't something new, hell, almost everyone in Midtown High had it already accepted the fact that they wouldn't see Peter Parker until at least 3rd period, as evidence to back up this fact, last year Peter's 1st and 2nd period teachers both collectively decided that instead of waiting on Parker to show up that they were just going to give his 3rd period teacher the work for that day for him to complete when he finally showed up.

But if they were lucky, it was the off chance that Peter would show up at 2nd period instead of third, but that would only happen when he was sick, how being sick causes him to come to school a lot faster is a mystery she could never figure out, but if she was being honest once more, Peter Parker as a whole seems to be a giant mystery that she can't figure out, but that's what she simultaneously adores and loathes about him, he was smart and quick witted, so when they would spar back at the helicarrier, she learned to never underestimate him and always remain quick on her feet as he could move just as fast as she could and maybe even faster giving his impressive agility and reflexes, it was almost impossible to catch him by surprise.

By this time, Ava was already back in class and as she walked in, she saw a man that everyone in the building, would have expected to see, sitting right next to a particular redhead was none other than Peter Parker, but Peter was different, he had blonde hair instead of as usual blonde and blue eyes instead of his usual Hazel, not that Ava would ever admit she took note on what color Peter's eyes were, but if the different eye and hair color wasn't enough, she also accounted for the fact that Peter is stopping a bank right now so there's no way he would wrap that up before she could get back to class, not to mention he was in 1st period, this man was obviously an imposter.

She didn't want to make a scene, so she quietly without her learning her teacher make her way over to Pseudo Peter and Mary Jane's table and quickly sat down, analyzing Pseudo Peter's mannerisms and speech pattern, but to her surprise he had shown all of Peter's traits, which to a normal person would point to the fact that this was the real Peter Parker, so whoever this guy was, he was surprisingly good at playing Peter, but Ava had questions and she intended to get answers, before she could say anything though, Mary Jane had already saw and acknowledged her. "Oh Ava, this is Ben, Peter's brother."

"Hey, you must be a friend of Peters, it's nice to meet you." Ben greeted, but to no avail as Ava was still trying to process the fact that not only did this guy look and behave exactly like Peter, but now he's apparently his brother? Something was fishy, but she decided just to ask Peter about it later.

"Hi, I'm Ava, Ben Parker I'm assuming? You must be named after your uncle."

"Ben Reilly actually, and I'm really Peter's half brother, hence the blonde hair and blue eyes, but the bastard might as well be my full brother." He joked, making Peter the butt end of the joke even though he wasn't here. "Plus, I'm actually really tired of people confusing me for Peter Parker, but people never seem to confuse him for Ben Reilly. Honestly, I feel like a younger brother even though I'm older."

Ava decided to chill out for now and just sit back and listen to this "Ben Reilly" ramble on about Peter and found herself intrigued by Peter's newly discovered family member that's someone other than May or the late Ben, but that wouldn't stop her from keeping tabs and making notes on him, because he had to face the Peter Parker doesn't mean he was completely trustworthy, even Parker himself is a completely trustworthy, sometimes.

However unknowingly, Mary Jane had set something in motion when she took a picture of herself and Ben, so a half an hour later during 2nd period, Peter could be seen rushing in making his way towards MJ and Ava while coincidentally Ben had left 10 minutes prior, seeing that the two girls will by themselves and Ben was nowhere to be found, he saw it as a good chance to question them. "Where is he?"

"Who?"

"Who else could I possibly be talking about right now, where's Ben?" He questioned MJ, being that even though the Redhead had seemingly no interest in Peter, she was head over heels for Ben, which granted Peter found weird and he knew she would too if she knew the truth on Ben's origins, but it was a big ass "if" as Peter would never be the one to tell her and the only way she would ever figure it out is if she did it herself, although it's true SHIELD figured it out but that was only because they had been watching him for a year.

He was very confident that MJ would eventually figure out that he was Spider-Man, but if she ever ended up starting a relationship with Ben, he just hoped and prayed she never found out who he truly was, then they'd have to open a whole can of worms that Pete doesn't want open. Hell, he didn't even know how he would explain Jessica but one thing was for sure he was never going to make an attempt with Kaine wherever the fuck he was and Ava, she was more analytical than MJ ever was, so he had already suspected that he was going to get a serious line of questioning sometime soon because there was no doubt that Ava noticed him and Ben's similarities.

Even with Ben trying very hard, both of them learned a long time ago that there's no shaking the Parker Charm, so then proceeded to try and mask it instead which was still just as difficult with highly perceptive people being the only ones who could actually tell the difference and unfortunately for the pair those are the only type of people that they're surrounded by, how they manage to keep the secret going this far is amazing. "Oh Ben left a while ago, he figured once I took that selfie of us and sent it to you that you would come running, so he wouldn't have to fill in for you anymore and surprise surprise, he was right."

And like that Peter didn't have any more questions, he figured that by the end of the day he was going to see Ben at least once, but chances are he's likely swinging around Manhattan right now and is going to probably meet him at Aunt May's house for some catching up and a little bit of patrol, Peter didn't know how long Ben was staying, but he be a liar if he said he wasn't excited to see him and he also be a liar if he said that he wasn't a little bit worried.
