AN: I'm finally back with Comeback Captains. Special Thanks goes to Poseidon Productions who inspirited me to get back to writing this story. Thank you so much. I also would recommend that everyone please read his Blitz The League story on his profile. Unto the show.

-One Week Later, Blitz League Broadcast Booth-

"Well ladies and gentlemen, another week of Blitz League action is officially in the books as week 3 wrapped up with the Sunday Night Division 1 double-header just moments ago. I'm Chris Benson and here's what went down around the entire league, all the way from Division 3 to Division 1." Chris began as he paused to take a breath before continuing. "The fans in San Diego have certainly got to be wondering if the dreaded Quarterback Controversy has begun as of earlier today when Cyclones' rookie QB Chance Wolfe took the reigns for the injured Grant Tanner as San Diego welcomed the Cleveland Steamers into San Diego Memorial Stadium for the Cyclones home opener. Johnny what do you got from this one?" Chris asked his co-host as the camera changed to show Johnny standing in front of the wide screen television used for analysis.

"Before we begin talking about the Quarterback Controversy Chris, here are the highlights from early this afternoon when San Diego kicked off their home opener this season. After San Diego forced Cleveland to punt on their opening drive, Cyclones rookie sensation Avery Ferguson took the handoff from Wolfe and proceeded to run 57 yards for an opening play touchdown. San Diego's defense would again force Cleveland to put on their second drive, and San Diego would embark on a long offensive drive which was capped off by a three yard touchdown run by who else, Avery Ferguson." Johnny said as the footage showed Ferguson bounce off tackle and walk into the end-zone.

"Cleveland had been boasting all week about how San Diego's running attack would not get going, and thereby forcing Chance Wolfe to throw the ball. I don't know 'bout you Johnny, but the Cyclones ground game made easy work of the Steamers defense, wouldn't you agree?" Chris' voice asked over the highlights.

"Your absolutely right Chris. Avery went for a season career high 192 yards on the ground, and let's not forget the 57 yards he had as a receiver, which helped keep the Steamers off balance the entirety of the game. Another big story this game was the match up between Steamers captain Henry Cho, and Cyclones second year Defensive Back Nate Lewis. Lewis had stated in interviews all week about how the match up between him and Cho could decide this game... and Lewis won the battle against Cho, holding him to two catches for 27 yards." Johnny said as the highlights now showed Nate Lewis knocking Cho around and deflecting multiple passes.

"Cleveland might have been trailing 14-0 at the half, but veteran wide-out Jonas was determined to seemingly put the team on his back." Chris began as he paused to take a breath. "While Cho was kept in check by Lewis. Jonas had over 140 yards today, and scored a touchdown for Cleveland on their first possession of the second half. However 14-7 was a close as it would get, right Johnny?" Chris asked with a smile on his face.

"That touchdown by Jonas got the Cleveland sideline all excited, but the excitement was short lived as former Nightmare wide receiver Carter Langford returned the ensuing kickoff for a 97 yard San Diego touchdown, giving the Cyclones a 21-7 lead just as Cleveland got back in the game. Second year Cyclones linebacker Robert McNeill then slammed the door on a potential Cleveland comeback as he intercepted the first pass of the drive and walked in for six points. And 28-7 is where it remained for the rest of the game. The Cyclones are now 3-0, while the Steamers dropped to 1-2, and are left searching for answers after beating San Diego last season very handily." Johnny said as the footage now showed the final score with both team logos...

-Meanwhile, Cyclones Owners Booth-

"Great job today Paul." Marty thanked his Head Coach as soon as Coach Dungy walked into the owners booth.

"Team played well today, both sides of the ball were clicking, and it felt good to win our third game in three contests." Paul said with a smile upon his face.

"We've beat the favored to win Division 3 Redhawks, we've beat the Bearcats who also won today, and now we've beat Cleveland. But I got a feeling the hardest part of our schedule still lies ahead of us." Marty said with a slightly worried look upon his face.

"Your thinking about Carolina, aren't you Marty?" Paul asked with a small smile upon his face. It was no secret that Carolina had fixed their defense in the past few seasons, and since drafting Quarterback Vincent Grimes in the same draft that Robert had been drafted in, the Copperheads has been a team on the rise. After finishing his rookie season with a surprising 4-3 record, Vincent had apologized to every Carolina fan, and had promised to do better the next season, and currently he was living up to that promise.

"Can't help but feel it's going to be a battle between our defense, and their offense." Marty said ominously. "Two rising stars on both teams: Robert, and Vincent. It should be a hell of a game." Marty said in an excited tone.

"I'll prepare the team on our first practice of the week Tuesday morning. The players know that with both us, and them entering at 3-0, only one team can go 4-0..."

To Be Continued...

AN: So both the San Diego Cyclones, and the Carolina Copperheads both enter week 4 with a 3-0 record. Who do you think will win, Offense... or Defense?
