Final Chapter: Saying see you Later

Alright, this is it, the final chapter for this Harry Potter crossover story. Took a very long time to get here, but we are finally here and I hope you find that this chapter wraps up the story as well as I hope it will.

Without further ado, let's get to it.

Having taken out the woman who impersonated his own mother, Valka, Hiccup found himself standing in Professor Dumbledore's office where temporary Headmistress, Professor McGonagall, stood before him. Cindra had planted herself on the walls outside the office, keeping an ear open for what may happen.

Hiccup had no idea what to expect. Was he in trouble for leaving the Hogwarts castle during a lockdown? For using defensive magic? For going into the Forbidden Forest? For literally everything up until that point? He had no idea what to think.

The only thing he could do was recite to McGonagall exactly what happened in the Forbidden Forest, from him meeting Valka to stripping away her magic, and after hearing all of that, McGonagall comments, "I see, so there's no way your mother could've done the things that we accused her of."

Hiccup nervously asks, "Am…I in trouble?"

McGonagall visibly collects her thoughts as she stares down at the young boy with a very neutral face, something that the green robed witch was rather known for, then out of nowhere she cracks a grin. "Quite the opposite, my boy."

Now Hiccup really wasn't sure what was going on, that is until he hears a rasp voice coming from behind him. "I can take over from here, Minerva."

Recognizing the voice right away, Hiccup turns around and sees Headmaster, Professor Dumbledore, standing at the entrance to his office with a hospital gown on and a grin on his face. "P…Professor Dumbledore! You're ok!"

Dumbledore nods. "Yes, Madam Pomphrey was amazing as always."

That's when Hiccup begins to wonder exactly what Dumbledore was doing there. "So, how much did you hear?"

Dumbledore replies, "Enough to know that we all owe you a huge apology. Mr. Haddock, you are only a boy yet you single handedly managed to clear up your family's name! I will have to contact the Ministry of Magic about this."

McGonagall adds, "Plus, you managed to display a level of magic that no student here has ever achieved! I have to know, how did you know the magic removal spell?"

She asks as at the end of his duel with Valka, Hiccup did use a spell that stripped her of any magic abilities. Hiccup rubs the back of his neck and states, "Well, it's kind of interesting. When my friend, Fishlegs Ingerman, was feeling down he stated that someone should just strip him of his magic, which got me thinking if something like that is possible, so I went into the library and found an old book that told me how the spell works."

Dumbledore nods with a huge grin. "Well, in any case, the fact that you were able to pull off such a spell deserves a world of admiration. I am going to award Gryffindor 150 house points for your effort."

Hiccup smiles wide at both knowing he's not in trouble but also the huge amount of house points he got for his Hogwarts house. "Thank you, Professor. Oh, hey, any clue what's going to happen now that Valka, the bad Valka, can't use magic?"

Dumbledore replies, "Hard to imagine, I suppose whoever she was working for won't be happy about this one bit.

Meanwhile, in the Forbidden Forest, Valka, the red haired witch, was standing in front of a man with long blonde hair with a cobra cane who couldn't look any less happy. The man addresses Valka saying, "Well…I'm waiting."

Valka drops her head in shame saying, "…I failed you, Lucius."

Lucius scoffs. "Understatement of the century. You allowed a child and his smelly, scaled beast to take you down. On top of that, you are now a pathetic muggle!" He turns to the side, about to walk away, before stating, "Lord Voldemort has no place for muggles."

He turns around as Valka drops down to her knees in the snow before begging, "Lucius, PLEASE! I beg of you to give me another chance! I…I gave up everything for this chance to join The Dark Lord! My home, my family, my friends...I…I have nothing." Tears begin to drip down her face, tears that just freeze up in the frigid winter air.

Lucius was about to reply when a low, rasp voice appears in the near distance. "Then it sounds like you have nothing left to live for."

Hearing the voice and recognizing it in 2 seconds, Lucius turns in the direction of the voice and sees a white skinned, bald headed man with no nose wearing a grey robe. Lucius gulps at the sight. "Lord Voldemort." He states. "How long have you been there?"

Voldemort replies as he approaches Valka, "Long enough." He then kneels before her. "So, you're the one Lucius has been training for months now, aren't you?"

Valka replies with a look of complete fear in her eyes. "H-how did you know about me?"

Voldemort replies as he stands back up. "I have my ways." He then turns around and faces Lucius before stating, "I have to admit, from what I've heard she has, or…had a great deal of power. Almost as if she was being trained to…overthrow me."

Lucius looks to Voldemort, then to Valka and realizes just what could happen if he told the truth, so he looks back to the dark lord and replies, "…My lord, you know my allegiance is with you, you know that."

Voldemort then cracks a smile. "Then prove it." He then points to Valka. "Strike her down, show me that loyalty."

Valka was shaking at this point as she knew very well that this was her last moment, so she begs Lucius. "Please, you can't do this!"

Lucius was clearly hesitant, but he knew what would happen if Voldemort had to do it himself, so he pulls out his wand from the top of his cane and calls, "Avada Kadavra!" Sending a green flash from the wand that strikes Valka and makes her roll in the snow as her life is taken from her.

Once that was done, Voldemort states, "A shame, really, she would've made a decent Death Eater. Come now, Malfoy." He turns around and begins to walk into the depths of the forest.

Lucius stood for a moment as he realized that months of working with Valka now went down the drain, but he was glad that his own life was spared, so he turns around and walks off with Voldemort.

(4 months later)

The rest of the Hogwarts school year was relatively uneventful, minus the students having to get used to a dragon flying near them during Flying Class and welcoming Professor Dumbledore back to his office chair.

As soon as word got out to the Ministry of Magic, people were surrounding Hiccup with heartfelt apologies for assuming things that his family was now proven innocent over. As for Lucius Malfoy, he managed to get back to the Ministry without anyone suspecting that he did a thing, so he resumed his job as normal.

The students of Hogwarts kept going about their day as normal, attending classes and doing what they can to rack up house points until it was finally time for the closing ceremony, where the older students will be saying their final goodbyes to the great castle and the rest will anticipate their next year.

The chatter amongst the students was halted by Professor Dumbledore tapping his spoon against his glass saying, "Students of Hogwarts, it is with great pride and humble sorrow that I welcome you to this year's closing ceremony. It has been quite the year for all of us. We met new friends, faced a new enemy, and found out that strength does not come with age."

Astrid gives Hiccup's arm a tight hug for that. Dumbledore adds, "Now, before we get to our closing feast, it is time for our tradition of announcing this year's house cup winner."

Hiccup whispers to Astrid, "Man, I was so busy working with Cindra that I didn't even think about the house cup this entire half of the year."

Astrid reassures, "No matter the results, we had a great year."

Dumbledore begins, "We have tallied up all the points you have earned through the year, and could not be more pleased with the results. Here we go." Anticipation fills the air as the students wait for the announcement. "In 4th place, with a total of 1,740 points…Hufflepuff."

The students in the black and yellow robes give a sad applause as Tuffnut, a blond haired Hufflepuff student, comments, "Wait, we were SUPPOSED to earn house points?"

His twin sister, Ruffnut, adds, "Yeah, I thought it was like golf where the lowest score wins. If I knew we wanted points, I would've done so many things different. And I mean SO many things."

Dumbledore adds, "In 3rd place, with a grand total of 1,890 points…Slytherin."

The students in the black and green robes also weren't that happy about that result. Snotlout, a black haired student, slams his wizard hat onto the ground and states, "Man, all that work getting others in trouble for nothing!"

Dumlbedore then adds, "Now, we are down to just Gryffindor and Ravenclaw for the House Cup champion. This is where things get very interesting, because the difference between 2nd and 1st place is only…20 points."

All of the students look to each other in both amusement and shock as Dumbledore adds, "Yes, you heard me correctly. We had to retally the scores just to make sure. In all my years as Headmaster, I have never such a close championship for the House Cup. With that being said, here is the final results, the winner of this year's House Cup, with a grand total of 2,190 points, beating out the 2nd place house of 2,170 points, is…"

The silence in the room was so intense you could hear a coin hit the floor. Both houses of Gryffindor and Ravenclaw were on the edges of their seats as the anticipation never ceases. Even those in Hufflepuff and Slytherin were dying to know the results. Then, in a mere moment, Dumbledore claps his ands and spreads them out before banners begin to magically appear from the ceiling.

Banners that were…blue with symbols of a silver raven on them. "RAVENCLAW!" All of the Ravenclaw students stood up and began cheering as they realize the house cup was theirs.

While clapping, Astrid states, "Darn, so close!"

Hiccup shrugs. "Eh, we tried our best."

After the blue and black robbed students settle down, Dumbledore announces, "That additional 20 points was due in part of our first year student, Fishlegs Ingerman, who's stellar work at the Herbology Greenhouse has allowed him to prove himself as brilliant as a Ravenclaw student can get."

Hearing this, Fishlegs puts his hands on his head and states, "We won because of me?! I…I don't know what to say!"

Heather then stands and says, "Well then, you don't need to say anything." She grabs Fishlegs and pulls him in for a kiss right on the lips.

Fishlegs was in shock at first, but then the feeling in his chest led him to grabbing Heather and holding them closer together.

Happy for the results, Dumbledore then states, "With that, let our closing feast…begin!" large trays of food suddenly appear on every table and the students dig in.

The next day was a big one, the day that the students of Hogwarts head home for the coming summer months, many to come back in the fall, some to leave for good as they enter adulthood.

Everyone was packed up and was at the Hogwarts Express, getting their stuff and themselves loaded up, that is except for Hiccup as he had to say goodbye to a dear friend.

Cindra, his loyal dragon, had met him at the loading dock for the train and had kept her head lowered down so Hiccup could give her tender rubs and pats as he says, "Well, Cindra, I guess this is see you later…for now." Cindra lets out a purr as she knows that Hiccup has to leave for a few months, and since he's a minor and she's a magical creature, she can't come with him.

That's when he hears Professor Dumbledore's voice coming from behind him. "Actually, Mr. Haddock, that's just what I wanted to talk to you about." Hiccup turns around and addresses the old wizard who states, "I am going to allow you to take Cindra home for the summer."

Both Hiccup and Cindra's eyes widen upon hearing that. "R-Really?"

Dumbledore nods. "You and Cindra clearly have a very special bond, I don't need eyes to see that, and from you battle against the dark forces you showed how powerful you two are together, so I will allow you to keep her."

Hiccup's eyes lighten up like Cindra's fire as he hears that. "Are you serious? Th-Thank you!" He gives the old man as wide of a hug as he can.

Dumbledore pats him on the back while letting out a slight chuckle as he comments, "Just one thing, no muggle should see her, so you'll need to use either the shrinking charm on her or find some other way to keep her hidden."

Hiccup nods to that. "Will do, Professor…say, uh, one last question."

Dumbledore grins wide, "Yes, I will let you have one last flight. If you follow the tracks for the Hogwarts Express, you should be able to find your way back to London."

Glad to hear it, Hiccup hops on Cindra's back and they take off. The two of them get to level with the main area of the giant castle that is Hogwarts and glide on in.

'This is Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry."

The two of them begin to circle around the school a bit.

'The rocks that make up its walls are about as old and stubborn as some of the Professors."

Cindra then lets out a ball of fire in the sky that they dive through, as the make their way to the tracks of the Hogwarts Express.

'You'll learn how to make a corpse reviving potion, shrink a house to the size of a play house, and how to not fly off a broom stick all in one day.'

They glide over the train as it goes along the tracks, Cindra flying low enough so the students within could see them as Cindra shows off the majesty that is her black scales. From inside, Astrid blows a kiss towards Hiccup's way, which he caught in the air.

'But something we do have going for us, is the pets. Now, most wizards may have owls or rats or toads, but not here at Hogwarts.

For we have…dragons!" And the two of them ascend into the sky towards the setting sun.

Thank you for reading this HTTYD/Harry Potter crossover, I do hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed making it.

I would like to apologize for my lack of content as of recent, things have been crazy busy at work so I haven't had the time to write, but I do hope what I do put out is worth the wait.

Take care and I'll see you next time!
