Chapter 1
He Wasn't Ready
"Please don't look at me like that, Sensei."
"I mean…are you sure you don't want to stay a few more days at the hospital?"
"I'm not going crazy, All Might!"
"I never said you were!"
"Please tell me you believe me…!"
"…I do, young Midoriya. I really do."
And with those words, it felt as if a huge weight has been lifted from his shoulders, with his whole body sagging in the seat of the car barely a second later, alongside a relieved sigh leaving his lips.
"But you must understand just how…unusual." He cringed a bit, knowing that the man driving was doing his best to not use the word crazy. "This whole thing sounds…As far as I remember, both young Bakugo and young Todoroki have always been, well…. girls."
And that little detail was making his head spin enough to make him feel lightheaded. Not only because remembering how his two friends looked now was enough to make him almost have another panic attack, but the fact that apparently everyone considered the usual?
His blood was running cold with just the thought.
But for reasons beyond him, it seemed that such was the weird ass scenario he found himself trapped in. After all, no one at the hospital had even raised an eyebrow at their current…appearance, and All Might himself seemed to believe nothing had changed.
And worst of it all, they themselves didn't seem to think anything had changed!
"I don't think that's going to fix anything." He heard All Might whisper after he tried once again to pinch himself awake.
Suffice to say, it didn't work.
"What do we do then?!" He knew he shouldn't be panicking, something that had been drilled in his head for years now. It was a key part of being a Hero, after all, and he knew that more than a few of his former teachers would have reprimanded by now for such a showing.
But if someone asked, he would like to argue that nothing could have prepared him for…whatever this was!
"Well for starters, you are going to take a rest." All Might said in a serious tone, and he was only realizing now that he had stopped the car. "You were already running yourself ragged before, and this is definitely not going to help with that."
"B-but I-"
"No buts, young Midoriya." All Might's voice was firm, a tone he wasn't used to hearing from the him, which made him clam up almost immediately. "I promised your mother that I would keep an eye on you and so-"
"When did you talk with my mom?" His existential crisis left to the side for just a second, he gave the retired Hero a confused gaze.
"…Never mind that." And for some reason, All Might's answered as if he had done something illegal. "But the point remains. You take a few days while we catch the guy that put you out of commission. Maybe that will give us some answers."
In the end he could only nod in response while still feeling more than a bit ashamed for letting himself get bested like that.
And who knows? Maybe a good sleep in his bed would make everything make sense.
Somehow, he doubted that.
The next time he woke up, it was to the sound of someone yelling.
It was a shame, truly, since he had actually gotten a pretty good sleep. He really needed to thank Momo the next time he saw her, her mattress and sheet recommendation had simply been divine.
In fact, he was so well rested than when he walked out of his room, he did so with a smile on his face and without a care in the world. Not even the increasingly loud yells coming from the kitchen could affect him, after all he was really used to them by now.
Although he did notice the voice he heard sounded a bit different, but surely nothing to worry about, right?
"Would you fuck off already?! No one invited you here!"
"I could say the same, and stop being so loud, you're going to wake him up…"
But of course, all of that peace that he had found went out of the window the moment he set foot into his living room, where he also got a direct view of his kitchen, the place right now being occupied by two arguing women.
Two individuals that he recognized almost immediately.
They also brought back the memories of his current situation with such a force that he almost felt like he would crumble right there and there.
The fact that his presence was noted quickly by the two, with their eyes zeroing on him, did little to help either.
It seemed that he had forgotten how he wasn't the only one with keys to his apartment, a decision that was now apparently coming back to bite him in the ass
"See? You woke him up." Shoto Todoroki spoke in a cold tone, one that he was used to by now but that right now almost had him shivering.
"Shut it." The grumble that followed from one Katsuki Bakugo was also a familiar one, but even more so was the glare she directed at him, one that usually wouldn't have really bothered, but right now? He almost let a whimper leave his lips.
"Are you feeling better, Midoriya?" Shoto asked in obvious concern. Well, obvious to him at the very least. It was surprising truly, how even with such a change he still recognized the way hi-her tone changed when worried.
Still, that did little to help him answer the question in the first place. Was he better? God knows he wasn't feeling any better right now, and judging by the looks he was receiving, it most definitely showed in his face.
It was such that when Shoto moved towards him, he actually had to try and keep himself from giving a step back. Extremely weird situation or not, he still didn't want to be rude to his friend.
Even if looking at her now was making him feel far too self-conscious for his own good.
Luckily through, he was saved by the bell.
"I'll answer that!"
Quite literally in fact, given that someone had just ringed at his doorbell.
He didn't care who it was, it couldn't make things be even more awkward than how he was already feeling anyway, right?
"Deku-kun!"
And he was only half-wrong in his assumption.
After all, the first figure that caught his attention was that of Ochako Uraraka, the very first friend he had made at U.A. She regarded him with a smile, one that he found himself returning with no small amount of relief.
Ochako looked exactly the same as the last time he saw her, and that, right now, gave him an unmeasurable amount of relief to the point he even felt like hugging her, shyness be damned.
"It's good to see you well, Midoriya-kun!"
It was the second individual at his door, however, that made him freeze on the spot, smile and all.
He then moved his head slowly, almost mechanically, until his gaze landed on a pair of dark eyes framed by glasses.
Said eyes belonged to a tall woman, easily as tall as him, with dark hair set in a braid that rested on her shoulder.
"Midoriya-kun?" The woman spoke once more in quite the serious tone, one that he, of course, recognized almost immediately.
Then again, he had recognized who this person was supposed to be the moment he had laid his eyes on her, and right now he could only blame his naivety for his current state of complete bewilderment.
It seemed Shoto and Katsuki weren't the only ones that had…changed, for lack of a better term, if the current presence of Tenya Iida, the second friend he had made at U.A, was anything to go by.
And that fact alone opened a can of worms that he wasn't sure his heart was ready to handle.
Unlike before though, he didn't pass out.
No no, he was far beyond that already.
Instead he just nodded at the duo while muttering a small 'come in'.
Then he moved towards his living room, ignoring the questioning looks he was receiving from not only Ochako and Iida, but also from Shoto and Katsuki.
And once he reached his sofa, he simply lied there, on his side, with his kneed tugged towards his chest and his arms circling his legs, and an empty gaze aimed at a wall of his home.
He needed time to reflect.
This is the last chapter were the joke is just Izuku losing his marbles, I swear.
Next Chapter: They're all girls? Always has been.
