Author's note: I recently got into Dramione by watching their edits on youtube. This will be a modern day AU fanfiction where Ron and Draco are 18 years old in the final year of college about to sit for their A-levels. Ron and Harry are older than Hermione and Draco in this story

Chapter 1

Hermione Granger had always been impeccable in acing all her exams. Getting perfect grades since nursery was something that infused her with the passion to get into the best university once her A-level exams were done.

When it came to romantic relationships, she was not the best. She dated Ron Weasley who was considerably older than her. He worked as a cop in the Scotland Yard. They met at a bar when she was celebrating the end of her O-level exams. It only lasted a year. She broke up with him a month ago simply because she could not see herself with him in the long run who always left her in the middle of dates due to bad guys and complicated cases that needed to be investigated.

Ron and Hermione parted on friendly terms. Infact, Ron's best friend Harry Potter was also her friend. They would still meet up and have friendly chats on weekdays. Harry was a well known lawyer who was also very busy like Ron.

It was the first day of her final year at Newham College. Her bushy brown hair was tied in a very tight pony-tail. She was wearing a white top and blue jeans. She took a deep breath standing before the mirror in her room. She brushed the hair strands away from her forehead so that they did not fall over her eyes.

She grabbed her bag from her study table and headed out of her room. She did not eat much in the morning. She only ate a couple of breads with red jam which took her only half a minute to make. After that, she gulped down a mouthful of orange juice prepared by her beautiful mother, Jane Granger.

She practically skipped outside and ran to the bus stand near their house. Two minutes had passed since the bus arrived. Her hurried feet got her into it. She pushed a couple of coins into the hole as she entered into it. A vacant seat in the front row in the first column caught her eyes. Not wasting a second, she sat on it.

The bus journey to Newham College was around fifteen minutes. She stared out of the window and hoped for better things in this year. Her first class was Chemistry. She had always been good at it. There was one particular guy Draco Malfoy who always took a keen interest in this subject. He always hurled sarcastic and biting remarks at her. She always dismissed them with a wave of her hand. It would not be a stretch to say that they were not on good terms.

When the bus came to a screeching halt before her college, she jerked a bit forward in her seat. To support herself, she grabbed the window. She stood up. She started walking carefully until she got down from the bus without any further hindrance.

There was still a lot of time in her hands. But she still wanted to get to her chemistry class as fast as she could. She pranced her way to the foyer of corridor of her college only to run into the hard solid masculine chest of the last person she wanted to see at the moment.

"Watch where you are going, Granger, " Draco sneered, holding her till she stabilized herself.

"If only you had used your eyes, you would not have bumped into me, " she bit back through her gritted teeth.

"I could tell you the same thing, Granger, " he snarled; revealing his pearly white teeth.

"Where were your eyes when you ran smack into me? " he questioned with a kind of vigor that shook her slightly.

"Maybe, your eyesight got weakened by the tedious company of Potterhead and Weaselbee, " he retored, standing just a couple of inches away from her face. She could practically feel the lava of hatred radiating off him in waves.

"Keep them out of this, Malfoy, " she warned him with a steely glint in her brown eyes.

"Tell them not to interfere in any of my matters, " he snapped back; his eyes glowing with a clear warning in his grey eyes.

"If I see them roaming anywhere near my garage, you will see the worst of me, Granger, " he warned back; pointing a finger in the direction of her chest.

Their heated argument came to an end when the bell rang. They both found themselves running towards the classroom. They sat on the nearest vacant seats their eyes landed on. Mr. Richard finally started lecturing them on the first chapter that was in their final year's syllabus.
