Chapter Ten

Roberto settled in to his apartment and shook his head. He had delivered another pizza to the Olivers tonight. The Olivers didn't know that they were the only people he delivered pizza to. They didn't really know what he was and he intended to keep it that way as long as possible. However, his recent trip to the Command Center made him feel like that may not last much longer.

He was a Guardian. He had felt the shift when Atlantis went after all of the Power Rangers. He had tried to dissuade the being, but eventually the remaining Guardians had rejected Atlantis and come up with a plan. The Power Rangers had to exist and the Power Rangers had to have mentors. He had visited the Command Center after Tommy moved to New York and seen the preparations- another team was coming soon, very soon. They would need their mentors and he had agreed to direct the new rangers to Tommy. The Command Center had made it obvious that that must happen. He knew that it had to happen for the new rangers to stand a chance.

"Dad- why are you in here?" Beatrice asked as she looked around the room and let out a sigh. This was his 'war room' and he had been in it far too much over the last decade. Ever since Kimberly Hart had moved to New York. However, she had noted how much it had increased since Tommy Oliver joined her. Everyone knew that Tommy Oliver being here was going to change things. "It's going to happen again."

"I'm sorry, but yes. It's going to happen again. And it's going to happen here. The Olivers are in New York. We never thought Tommy would leave California. He's written off being a mentor- we're going to have to get creative," Roberto stated as he hacked away at his computer, communicating with the fellow Elder Guardians. They had tracked Tommy closely over the years- they recognized how important he was to the delicate balance that existed on Earth. Tommy might not know how important he was, but just about every supernatural being on this planet did know about him. The once in an eternity ranger. And the evil that was out there would do anything to keep him from his destiny.

"C'mon, Dad. He'll come around," Beatrice said and Roberto shook his head no. He was certain that Tommy would not come around in time for this team. He was not sure that there was any coming around for Tommy anymore. Tommy might surprise them, but he was not going to bet this planet on it. "Why not?"

"He promised his wife he would walk away. They're expecting another baby, the timing is bad for him to come back to being a mentor," Roberto stated as he pinched the bridge of his nose. "I am doing what I can and we have a plan."

"The dojo?" Beatrice asked and Roberto smiled. Of all of his children, she had the best chance of becoming an Elder Guardian. She could see where they could influence, but not betray who they were far better than his other children.

"The dojo," Roberto concurred and he scrolled through the class schedule. Dr. Oliver was going to have some new, high priority students very, very soon.
