Danny put his head on his desk as his Science teacher went on with the lesson. He closed his eyes and welcomed the great feeling of sleep. He just drifted of before he felt a gentle hand on his shoulder.
"Danny, wake up." Danny frowned and looked up. He rubbed the sleep out of his eyes. It was Ms. Richmond looking at him with concern written all over her face. "Danny, are you alright?" He frowned. He has been asked that question so many times today that question.
"I'm fine. Just tired."
"Have you not been getting any sleep?"
"Yea, I'm just a bit tired." Danny spoke glancing around the room to make sure no one was listening. Luckily no one was surprisingly.
"Danny, if you need anything let me know. But for the mean time, you still are in class." The teacher looked at him pitifully and walked away. Danny rolled his eyes when the teacher wasn't looking.
Danny lasted about another 10 minutes before drifting off again. He felt another gentle hand on his shoulder.
Wait when did I even fall asleep?!
"Danny" he herd Sam. He looked up again and she gasped.
"What?" he asked to her.
"Danny your eyes!"
"What about them?" He asked.
"There glowing."
Danny held his hand to his eyes and realized a toxic green light reflecting from his eyes.
"What am I going to do Sam?"
Sure the world knew he was Phantom. But why can't he just be normal for once?
"Danny I think your strength is coming back."
"Me to." He formed a small ice crystal in his hand. Him and Sam smiled. Danny forced his eyes to return back to there normal shade of icy blue.
"Excuse me." The teacher spoke.
Danny froze as well as the teacher. Everyone turned around and stared at Danny. He quickly let the crystal melt.
"Uhh, sorry."
He cleared his throat. Well that wasn't awkward at all.
Danny just finished a humiliating moment in class. He could feel his powers coming back gradually.
"Hey Danny!" He heard kids call from all around call his name.
"Ugh. I can't believe she is only giving us one day to study for that test!" Tucker complained.
"I know right? And since when did we ever need to know about how rocks where formed?" Danny asked.
"Hey!" Sam cried offended. "Knowing about the earth is a perfect way to be grateful for everything it does for us, meat heads."
"Hey! For your information, meat is a very good supply of proteins and plus-"
"Guys!" Danny yelled. "Cmon can we not fight?"
Sam and Tucker glared at each other.
"Fine" they said in unison.
Danny let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. "Thank you."
3:00 Am:
Danny was fast asleep before a bright blue portal appeared in his room. Danny moved a bit, but never woke. Clockwork appeared from the portal glancing at the sleepy child.
If only he knew what was about to come. Clockwork had to wake him up. He gently put a hand on the child's shoulder.
"Danny?"
"Dad it's like one in the morning." He growled.
"Actually Daniel, its three,"
Danny's eyes shot open only to meet the gentle eyes of another ghost.
"Clockwork? But, what? why? explain." Danny folded his arms and glared at the old man.
"Daniel I have great news for you. But I cannot tell you here. Come with me." He created a portal. Danny shielded his eyes allowing them to get used to the blinding light.
"Can't it wait till morning?"
"Now Daniel." The ghost of time scolded.
"Fine." Danny stepped through the portal. Once through, he looked around. He was in Clockworks tower. But why? Danny turned into his ghost form because he didn't want to talk with the master of time in spaceship pajamas.
"Clockwork, care to explain why on earth you woke me up at three am? What is it that's so urgent?"
Clockwork sighed. "Well remember when you defeated Pariah Dark?"
"How can one forget?" He said sarcastically. Clockwork rolled his eyes a the boys childish demeanor.
"Well I don't mean to scare you child, but there must be a new ruler. And since you, my boy defeated Pariah Dark, you are the heir to the throne. You are the new king of ghosts."
"B-but, there's no way!" The boy laughed. "Skulker will come or Technus and then maybe even The Box Ghost will join in and beat me to a pulp. If I was really king, then why do they fight me?"
Clockwork sighed.
"See that's just it Daniel. They haven't attacked you for almost a week, and it's not because they need to regain strength."
Danny fell silent.
Clockwork was right.
"But why now?" Danny could barely breathe.
"I had to discuss it with the ghost counsel. At first they refused to let a child take the throne, but it really wasn't up to them."
"So what do I do now since I'm King?"
Clockwork put a hand on the boys icy cold skin.
"Your coronation will be tomorrow at 12:00 sharp meet here. And it is only you who can come. You will be given they Ring of Rage. But I must warn you, the new power you feel will be overwhelming, And there will be a few physical changes. But Danny, I have seen your future. You will be the best king the ghost zone has ever had. Now I believe I have given you plenty to think about. Tell no one until the ceremony is over."
Danny didn't know what to say, if he could say anything at all. Yes it is true. Clockwork gave him a lot to think about. But when Danny went through the portal and back to bed, the one thing that kept him up all night was how on earth could he keep an entire kingdom at his command, when he couldn't even turn in Mr. Lancers History homework in on time.
Bigger chapters will come, I promise.
Tell me what you guys think!
