Two weeks later:
Jazz was lying in her bed at the university her roommate, Cassidy, was working on her computer. Jazz was looking at her picture of Danny and her the day before she left. She missed him a lot, but she knew he was going to come sooner or later and say hi. He hasn't yet. She also had to find a way to visit him on the weekends at his castle. Danny told her before she left that since he was so powerful he had to have his daily dose of ectoplasm. Sometimes he would even drink the green liquid from a water bottle.
Jazz was just about to roll over and take a nap before a soft knock sounded at the door. Jazz got up in her white tank top and sweats and answered it. A young man stood at the doorway. He wore a loose VANS checkered jacket and ripped jeans. He had blond hair and blue eyes.
"Chase." She smiled.
"Jazz how are you?" He smiled giving her boyfriend a hug and a small kiss. They met a couple weeks online before she moved. She never told Danny though.
"Oh boy it's the love birds." Cassidy rolled her eyes. She had black hair and brown eyes. And she was wearing a black crop top with leggings. Jazz rolled her eyes.
"Here come in." She opened the door wider and Chase walked through. He sat down on her bed.
"How's school?" He asked.
"Stressful. And it's only like the first two weeks."
"It's college, literal hell."
"Did someone say hell?" All eyes used to a dark figure at the corner of the dorm.
"Danny!" Jazz gasped. She leaped off her bead and embraced he figure. Once the person stepped in the light the two gasped.
It was none other than Danny Phantom. King of the Ghost Zone. He wore his usual dark clothing, which made his eyes stand out like crazy.
"Jazz I missed you." They let go. "Sorry I didn't come sooner, I had a whole room filled with angry ghosts."
"Why where they angry?" She asked.
"Manny reasons." Danny said clearly not wanting to talk about it. "Who is this?" Danny asked.
"The names Chase. I can't believe Phantom is your brother Jazz." Chase held out his hand and Danny shook it. He was ice cold.
"You can just call me Danny." He grinned bearing his fangs. The man couldn't help but to begin to feel a little scared. Phantom literally radiated fear off of him.
"Danny, your doing it again." Jazz frowned. He stepped back.
"Sorry, habit." A while back Danny had figured out how to feed on emotions. He hated doing it but it came with his ghostly nature. He couldn't help it at times.
"It's okay." Chase said as the fear began to dissipate.
"And you? what's your name?"
"Cassidy." She sat up. "What's in that bottle?' She asked pointing at the black water bottle he was holding.
"Ectoplasm." He answered simply.
"Why?"
"I need it to remain stable I guess. Since I am only half ghost I need enough ectoplasm to harness the energy of the ring and crown."
"Interesting." She said looking back at the bottle. Danny cleared his throat and pulled out a chair that was tucked under the desk and gracefully sat down. He set the bottle of ectoplasm on the desk.
"So what are you guys going to college for?" He asked. Jazz was glad her brother was getting along with her friends so well.
"I am here to get an art degree. Not sure which one yet. I am just taking some classes to start me off." Cassidy said. Danny looked at Chase.
"I'm going here to become a lawyer."
Danny's eyes widened.
"I lawyer? Wow." He sat back. "Good luck." Chase chuckled.
"Thank you, I will need it."
"And art, why art?"
"Family tradition I guess." She shrugged.
"What about you, Danny?" Chase asked.
Danny chucked,
"Well I wanted to be an astronaut explore space, but life had a different path planned for me."
Danny grasped the water bottle and took a small sip from it. The bright glowing green liquid dripped from his mouth. He wiped it off.
"What does that stuff even look like?" Cassidy asked.
"You really want to know?" She nodded.
Danny took the cap off his water bottle and poured it on the table.
"Danny!" Jazz gasped and glared at her brother.
"Woah." Cassidy said getting up. "Can I touch it?" Danny nodded and she did.
"Want to see something really cool?" He asked. She nodded. From the spilt ectoplasm the king held his hand above it and concentrated. The green liquid began to come together and form something. A flower. Then, slowly, it began to gain color. The stem was green of corse and the flower had four yellow petals. Danny picked it up and handed it to the girl. She smiled.
"Woah, how did you do that."
"Easy, the more powerful ghosts can construct things from ectoplasm. Or in other words it can create whatever you wish. The only limit is your imagination. After all that was how my castle was made.."
"Th-that's crazy." She looked at the flower.
"Can you make yourself a million bucks?" Chase asked. Danny nodded.
"I could but I promised to never abuse my power. And that still stands."
Chase frowned. "You could've bought a Lamborghini or something."
"Why drive when you can fly?" Danny asked. The man just folded his arms in reply.
"So Danny how are things at home?" Jazz asked.
"Quiet." Danny answered.
"And mom and dad?"
"Busy. I feel bad. They had the love and passion for hunting ghosts. They did it there whole life and to give it all up after realizing there son is a halfa."
"Half what?" Cassidy asked.
"A halfa, the most powerful of ghosts to exist. Half human, half ghost."
She made an oh with her lips.
Danny was about to say something before a green flaming letter flashed in front of him. Danny picked it up out of the air and then fanned out the green flames. Danny instantly recognized the seal that sealed the envelope shut. A green stamp with two gears. Clockwork.
"Who's it from?" Jazz asked.
"Clockwork. What does he want?" Danny questioned.
"Who's Clockwork?" Danny looked up at Chase.
"The ghost of time, and a very good ally. A second father if you will." He simply replied. The two teens glanced at each other trying to process what Danny just said.
Danny ran his finger under the seal and opened the envelope. He reached in and pulled out a blue print.
"Ah, just some more blueprints for the castles safe guard."
Danny looked the, over. He thought it was a good idea to create a maze (inspired by Pandora of corse) that would shift into different patterns every day. He planned on putting monsters and booby traps (with Skulker help) all over it. Cujo could be one of the guards in the maze. Danny could also allow a clear path for people/ghosts to enter the castle if he planed on having parties or the Ghost counsel ever.
The people where given maps. The maps, thanks to its magic, can tell if the person or ghost meant harm to anyone in the castle or was a potential threat. It lead them to certain doom if they did accept it and follow the map. And if they where allies, it would lead them strait through the maze and no creature would harm the person or ghost.
Danny was looking over the finishing touches that the Ghost Counsel spent hours on. Danny allowed for Pandora, Frostbite, and of corse his ghostly father, Clockwork, in on the counsel. He was still looking for more candidates, but in he mean time, these ally's where good enough for Danny.
"And they look great." Danny reached in the air and a quill appeared. Danny wrote something on the parchment and set it on flames teleporting it back to Clockwork for immediate construction.
"What was that about?" Jazz asked. Danny stood up.
"Like I said, the castles safe guard. But only the Council and me know about its plans."
"You have a counsel?" Cassidy asked.
"Every king needs second opinions."
"Danny me and Chase where planning on going out, but I think we should all come."
"Wait," Danny held up his hand "go out?"
"Yea me and Chase are kinda... together."
Danny's eyes narrowed. He glared at Chase.
"If you hurt her in any way I will come after you." His face paled.
"Danny! Sorry." Jazz glared at Danny.
"I'm serous."
"Knock it off!" She glared at him. Danny just folded his arms and grinned at the boys fear.
Jazz pulled up to a parking space and parked. The four of them filed out of the car. Cassidy's eyes widened when she noticed something about phantom. He had a tail! An arrow tipped tail!
"You have a tail?" She asked. Danny smirked.
"They don't call me the devil for nothing."
"Your the devil?"
"It's one of my many names yes, but I say they devil is my history teacher in disguise." She laughed at that.
"So is there really a god?" Danny hesitated. He didn't answer for a long time. The group went inside the restaurant. It was an all you can eat place.
"I uh, I don't know actually." He said.
"Huh." She looked ahead waiting to be seated.
"I rule over ghosts who have died a painful death. The ghosts of spirits who don't, well I don't know where they go."
"So how did you die? Or half die anyways." Danny frowned at the curious girl.
"Painfully." He answered simply clearly not wanting to talk about his death.
Jazz was aware of the whole situation. She leaned over and whispered in Cassidy's ear.
"You never should ask a ghost how it died."
She looked down suddenly finding the floor boards very interesting.
"Sorry. I didn't know." Jazz chuckled and gently pushed her friend. She laughed at the gesture. Then Jazz began to talk about something else. One way to distract a person that is down or embarrassed is to distract them by joking around or talking about something completely different. She learned that in one of her classes,
"Excuse me how much in your party?" A woman asked interrupting there conversation. She wore a white tucked in shirt and black pants. The woman looked up and met Danny's icy blue eyes. "Hey, your the ghost boy!" She said. Well so much for keeping a low profile, Danny had tucked his tail into his black jackets try and hide his identity. Well we saw how far that got him. Danny frowned. Jazz noticed him and she couldn't help to feel bad.
"Just four." He said.
"S-sure, right this way." She lead them to a table of four. They followed. While he passed everyone stared at him. He shrank a little.
"Can I get you started on anything? Drinks?"
"Just water." Jazz said.
"Great there are plates in the cafeteria, help yourselves to anything." They thanked the waitress. The group stood up and the poor boy just wanted to turn invisible and hide forever. Everyone was staring at him. After about five minutes they all returned together at the table. As the group approached there booth, Danny's head began to pound and it only increased as they got closer to the table. Danny began to falter in his steps. Then he felt dizzy. They group only noticed Danny's state when his plate dropped and shattered.
"Danny you have to be more-" Jazz turned around only to find her brother fall on the floor.
"Jazz, I don't feel so good." He clutched his stomach.
"Danny!" She cried running to his side. Thankfully they where far enough from the public for them to notice anything. "What's wrong?" She asked. Her brother was sweating like crazy. Clearly he was in a lot of pain. "Danny you have to talk to me!"
Jazz stood up to look for the cause of his pain. She tuned to her table and noticed something. Chase and Cassidy where looking at them with concern. Jazz walked to the table and picked up something. A red flower. Or as there parents called it, a blood blossom. A blood blossom! A ghosts greatest weakness.
"What's that?!" Chase asked clearly panicking and confused at the whole situation.
"It's a blood blossom, it can cause ghosts immense pain. We have to destroy this thing."
This is going to be crazy, but I have a plan." Jazz was about to walk out before she heard a voice.
"I don't think so." The waitress that seated them came out of the kitchen doors.
"What do you mean! It's hurting him!"
"When I found out the king of ghosts showed up here at my restaurant, I thought this must be my moment to shine. To prove to my agency that I am worthy of higher rankings then I am credited for. Just think how much money I can get for his capture.."
"What-what are you talking about?" Jazz glared deadly at the woman.
"The name is Agent Jay and I work for the top secret program, the GIW." Jazz gasped. She thought Tucker shut them down!
"Ahh you heard of us." The woman smirked as she saw Jazz's shock.
"I'm not letting you take my brother!"
"Too late." She said. Then she held out a gun and pointed it at Danny.
Thats when something least expected happened. The flower began to burn in green flames then fall to the floor in ash. Jazz, Chase, Cassidy, and Jay looked in front of them in shock. There, far away was a ghost. Not just any ghost, it was the Fright Night. He had his hand raised.
"You dare do this to the king?!" His voice boomed through the restaurant. People began to scream and run out. Danny, without anyone noticing stood up and dust himself off. Danny raised his hand shot Jay's gun out of her hand. The group turned around to see Danny Phantom in his ghost form. And he looked pissed and absolutely frightening. Jay gasped. Then he stomped towards her, his green eyes where now blood red. Danny swung a fist but she barely dodged it only to be caught by phantoms foot and fell backwards.
"Please!" She begged.
"Why should I have mercy?" He growled. Fear absolute fear radiated off of the young king. "And you," Dannys eyes snapped at Fright Night. The ghost kneeled in front of Danny as the he trembled in fear.
"Phantom, you have every reason not to trust me, my lord. But the crown, I am bound to it. I shall be your servant until you no longer reign as king. Please forgive me." Dannys eyes narrowed. Fright Night looked pathetic against the King.
"You are forgiven, but if you do one thing against me, my family, the kingdom, or my people, you will be executed. I have warned you."
"I understand my lord. Thank you."
"And for you." Danny turned his head towards the woman. She began to back herself up trying to get away from Phantom. "By king of the Ghost Zone I hear by sentence you to trial by the council, then whatever fate we decide, you will perish with it."
"N-No please! Just wait until the public hears about this! You are nothing but a ball of ectoplasm! You don't deserve to walk with humans, you're a monster that should be contained!" the woman spat.
"HOW DARE YOU TALK TO MY KING THAT WAY!" The Ghost of nightmares raised his sword.
"Fright Night, stand down." Danny said. Fright Night lowers his sword.
"Do you want me to tell you what I think of humans?"
"I don't care what you think." She snapped back.
"Humans are the real monsters." He said. "I was hunted from my own kind for 3 years! Just because I was saving your asses from other ghosts! I was captured and experimented on! All I wanted to do was be normal, but no. Humans despised me for years. My own parents hated me! I was scared to go home every day because I knew if they found out they would capture and dissect me. So I don't care what you think of me, I don't care if you don't want to listen to what I think. But in my eyes, humans are the real monsters after all they and there machines are the main reason I died."
Chase and Cassidy looked at each other pitifully. They didn't know how much Danny went through until now, when they could see it in his eyes. Jazz just stood there.
"Let her go." Fright Night stared at the king in shock. He didn't execute her? King Phantom is definitely different then Pariah Dark. The Ghost bowed Everyone was too shocked to speak.
Danny on the other hand was wordless and exhausted as well.
"I'm going back to my castle." Danny made a map spear in green flames and handed it to Jazz. "Follow these directions and they will to the castle. Contact me if you need me."
And before Jazz could reply Danny burst into flames and disappeared.
