I do not own Glee and am only using the shows characters to further my own enjoyment and I hope yours as well.

Prologue

The End?

The world crashed down around them. There would be no government or military saving them. There was no superhero to swoop in and save the day. No, all they had were themselves, each other and in truth they didn't know if that would be enough. Some, once thought to be friends, turned into enemies. Some, once called bullies, were now friends and even more, lovers. Then there were those whose misunderstanding of the world, of society, was skewed beyond comprehension, leaving them shattered in mind and spirit when truths come to light.

The few that took it upon themselves to fight, survive and more to learn to thrive again are the ones this story is about. More than that, this is a story within stories, for you see there are many iterations of these happenings. Within these iterations the few who choose to stand and fight will struggle, they will fall, they will fail but they find a way to go back and adjust certain happenings in order for their victory to be assured in the end, or in some cases, in the beginning.

Our story begins - at least in the first iteration - in a small town called Lima, located in the state of Ohio. Here we find our core group of future survivors in the local high school, William McKinley High, in their after school club, Glee. To some, when they look back on the days they spent in Glee, it was a wonder that they ever made it out of that school alive, in that being in Glee automatically targeted you as a loser. For others, they never doubted surviving high school, they simply doubted surviving much past graduation, as most knew they would likely become the statistic of a Lima Loser, never moving beyond those city limits, stuck in a dead end job. However, there was at least one, who knew without a doubt that she would not only leave the small-minded town but would go on to become famous and live the life of the star she was always meant to be. This individual was none other than Rachel Barbra Berry, self-named Diva, future Broadway star and current social pariah of all McKinley High. It didn't matter that Rachel was the lowest of the low in the social hierarchy of McKinley, every single student who knew of her understood that loser or not, she was the one out of all of them that would certainly, without doubt make it out of Lima, and on to great things. It was after all the real reason behind the bullying inflicted upon her, the slushy facials, the name calling and even being shoved into lockers by those knowing they could get away with it. Most of the teachers and staff of McKinley High didn't care to bother noticing any of the bullying and preferred to simply, do their jobs as basically as possible and go about their lives as the losers they too seemed to be. The few faculty that did take it upon themselves to see the bullying and even go so far as to try to stop it were those that believed still in a life outside of Lima, OH, maybe not for themselves but for those students they could see that potential in.

A/N:

With that digression out of the way, allow me to apologize dear reader and continue with our story, though I must admit here and now that there will be numerous such digression throughout if for no other reason then to back story some of what has transpired, for without such you may find yourself somewhat lost along the way, as might I. Until such a time that it is needed I will continue on and hope you enjoy the very many iterations of this multi-faceted story.
