"So – all very nice and stuff – but what will you do in helping Sue? You just stated it cannot go on like this. What are we going to do?", Magnus asked a little impatient.
"It's alright, Magnus. I know you dealt with this a lot longer than we did. We will think about something together.", Alec offered. He knew Magnus better than Magnus himself.
Jace – who was back on his chair – cut in:
"Maybe now we have something that you did not have in the past, Magnus."
Everyone looked at him. Sue rolled her eyes when seeing the triumphant expression on his face. Arrogant little boy.
"We can go visit Idris."
Nobody spoke for a moment. Then Sue stood up.
"I knew you were stupid, but this stupid? Didn't you listen to what I just told you? They brutalized me in Alicante! And you want me to go back there? NEVER!"
The last word she spat in his face. She got her things and wanted to leave the room, but again Jace held her back by grabbing her hand.
"Would you listen for one moment? Did I say that you will visit Alicante?"
She turned around slowly and looked at him suspiciously. His hand never left her wrist.
"Why do you want to visit Idris at all?", she asked.
"You grew up just around Alicante – so did I. I know the area quite well. There are many empty houses after the Circle broke apart. Maybe one of those houses is the one you grew up in. Maybe we can get some clues about what you really are in this house."
His stunningly blue eyes looked right behind the strong facade she tried to hold upright. Quickly she looked away. She had to admit this was a smart way of thinking. But there was still the thing about getting to Idris. She sighed.
"I am sorry Jace, but I cannot do this. I promised myself, that I will never ever go back to Alicante or Idris because that would mean coming in contact with the clave. It is still true, you cannot go to Idris without them noticing it."
"Well, that's not entirely true.", he answered and again she looked at him with her best suspicious look. He just laughed and turned to Magnus.
"That's the part where you are gonna take over."
Magnus looked bored.
"A portal?"
"A portal."
"I have the strong feeling you just need me for the sole purpose of making portals for you young shadowhunters..."
"No, Magnus. Alec needs you for far more, I promise you.", Jace stated and Sue couldn't help but chuckle lightly.
