Thanks for the warm reception for this story! Like I said before, it's gonna be a little on the slow start, but as it goes I aim to make more changes and Rory will be a pretty important part of those changes.
Hope you like it!
Chapter 2: Like a Rock
A gentle wind picked up through the temple grounds, disturbing the peace and causing the leaves on the bushes and trees to rustle. It tugged at Rory's robes, but she ignored it, taking a deep breath and letting her heart-rate settle.
"Go!" Kimiko's shout was like a bolt, as Rory darted forwards. Grabbing the pole that dangled above her, she used her momentum to swing over the fake crocodiles that snapped at her feet, before grabbing the edge of the wall that blocked her path, and found she was a little lower than she would have liked.
Not letting it deter her, Rory dug in and used the side of the wall to help pull her up on top of it. Pushing off the edge, she avoided the large plastic arrows that hit the wall and bounced off, landing lightly before she kept going. Trying to keep her breathing as even as she could as she raced along, weaving around the vases that were being lifted and dropped on little platforms. One wobbled and she cursed, but kept going as the swinging axes came up next.
'This seems a little drastic,' Rory thought to herself as she pushed herself faster, moving around them as they swung up to the sides, leaving the sandbags in her way. Allowing herself a small smile, Rory moved amongst them, letting her body sway with their motions. Finally, she jumped up, leaping through the hoops designed to look as if it were on fire, and grabbed the small, beaten stuffed dog that was waiting for her.
"Nice!" Kimiko called as the others went over to her. "Just a second longer than Rai," she showed Rory the stopwatch, and Rory smiled, proud of her time.
"I messed up the crocodiles," she considered aloud. "Should have jumped earlier," she said, more to herself than the others.
"Relax, you did great," Raimundo told her with a shrug.
"Exactly!" Omi nodded, smiling brightly. Rory looked at him, surprised that he'd agreed so easily. "Of course, you wouldn't be able to reach my time," he shrugged casually, and Rory rolled her eyes at Kimiko, who looked equally as unimpressed. That was more like it.
"Alright Clay," Kimiko turned to the much taller boy. "You're the last one up," she told him as Raimundo took the toy dog and placed it back on its platform.
"So, all I got to do is be the fastest to get to that doggie?" Clay asked as he stood at the starting line.
"Correct," Omi nodded.
"Alright," Clay took in a deep breath, preparing himself.
"Your record is safe," Raimundo whispered to Omi as they stood at the side. "Clay's element is Earth. Speed of a rock," he smirked.
"Is that why you got beat by Omi, wind-boy?" Rory teased him, hearing his words. Raimundo stuck his tongue out at her in response.
"Ready, set, go!" Kimiko shouted, hitting the start button on the stopwatch. Clay straightened, and for a moment didn't move. Then he simply turned and walked in the other direction, and lifted the dog from the platform.
"Here you go," Clay handed over the stuffed dog to Omi. "Think I shaved a few seconds off your record, Omi," he admitted as the other three started laughing.
"But...you are supposed to go run and jump and kick!" Omi exclaimed, throwing his hands in the air. Clay caught the dog, high-fiving Rory.
"Well, I didn't much see the point in all that hoopin' and hollerin', so long as I got the dog," Clay shrugged, looking at the beaten toy.
"There wasn't anything to say that we had to go the long way around," Rory shrugged.
"Or," Raimundo smirked. "You knew you couldn't beat us with your old man kung-fu," he taunted, and Omi burst out laughing.
"Raimundo mocks Clay's Tai-Chi, calling it 'old man kung-fu'!" he howled, clutching his stomach. Clay didn't seem too offended, still holding the toy as they watched Omi double over. "He implies Clay is like an old man doing kung-fu!" Omi kept going. When they spotted someone approaching, the other three straightened up.
"Here we go," Rory murmured. "Omi, careful," she hissed as he fell over.
"Is there something funny about old men and their kung-fu, young monk?" Omi stopped laughing, eyes going wide as he stared up at Master Fung. The teacher stood over him, arms folded and an unimpressed look on his face.
"Let's see him talk his way out of this one," Raimundo murmured as Omi jumped back to his feet.
"Master Fung!" he gulped.
"You do recall, Omi, that the oldest oak in the grove is by far the strongest, yes?" Master Fung asked him.
"Yes, Master," Omi bowed, looking apologetic. "Um...Clay cheated!" he declared, pointing at Clay and immediately losing the humble look.
"Oh? There is more to being a Xiaolin Dragon than running and jumping, Young Monk," Master Fung walked past him and examined the training stage that had been set up.
"Oh yes Master, there is kicking too," Omi demonstrated a high kick.
"Does he miss the point because he's so short, or…" Raimundo's whisper made Rory clamp a hand over her mouth as her shoulders started to shake. She shot him a weak glare as Kimiko elbowed him, trying not to laugh as well, and he grinned.
"True, but being a Xiaolin Dragon also means seeing the world in a different way," Master Fung continued, either not hearing them, or ignoring them. "For example, finding simple solutions to complicated problems," he turned to Clay and patted him on the shoulder. "Well done, Clay," he praised. Omi looked horrified as Clay fixed his hat.
"Thank you, sir," he smiled bashfully at the praise.
"Look alive, people!" Dojo's shout reached them as he slithered over. In his arms, he carried an ancient scroll. "We've got a hot Shen Gong Wu!" he declared, opening the scroll to reveal it.
"Ah, the Fist of Tebigong, a most powerful Shen Gong Wu indeed," Master Fung nodded as he peered down at the explanation.
"Oh, it packs a punch," Raimundo breathed as they watched the demonstration. "Literally!" he exclaimed. Rory bit her lip at the idea of another Shen Gong Wu appearing. They'd been late to the last Shen Gong Wu that had gone active, and so missed claiming the Third Arm Sash. She was still adjusting to the sudden quest that they'd been thrown into, to claim the Shen Gong Wu.
But more than that, she was still wondering about the strange sensation she'd felt when Wuya and Jack Spicer had been nearby. Rory wasn't sure if she'd been imagining it or not, but when the others hadn't made any comments about feeling the same, she'd kept it to herself. They were still getting used to each other. She didn't want to stand out.
"We better get moving, before we miss it," Kimiko said, snapping her from her thoughts.
"Right," Rory nodded.
"Then you should go prepared," Master Fung said, and the group exchanged curious looks.
Master Fung led the group into the meditation room, where most of the older Monks were currently seated. They watched as he flicked the chimes hanging up near the door, and the circle in the centre of the room moved, becoming steps below ground. Rory had to give the Monks credit, as none of them reacted to the sudden movement.
'Either they are meditating real hard, or they're all sleeping,' she considered as they walked down the stone steps into the semi-darkness below.
"Quickly, young ones. Choose your own Shen Gong Wu for battle," Master Fung instructed as they located where the Shen Gong Wu they'd collected were currently stored.
"Dibs on the Eye of Dashi!" Raimundo claimed loudly.
"No! You cannot have it! You don't know what it will do!" Omi protested as he ran to try and take it from Raimundo.
"Sure I do. It's supposed to shoot lightning...or something," he held it out of reach as Omi jumped up to try and grab it. "Besides, I called it," Raimundo pointed out.
"Of course the boys are fighting over the one that shoots lightning," Kimiko muttered to Rory as she took the Mantis Flip Coin and Two Ton Tunic from their places and handed them to their teacher.
"Of course they are," Rory grinned back. "Though as something with more firepower pops up, they'll be fighting over that instead," she pointed out.
"But I won it in the Showdown!" Omi whined. "I should be the first to use it!" he demanded.
"Fighting over a Shen Gong Wu? Are you two trying to start a Xiaolin Showdown?" Omi froze as he realised that Master Fung stood behind him, looking unimpressed.
"Master Fung, please decide which of us should take the Eye of Dashi," Omi pleaded with him.
"What do you bet that Omi won't be happy with his answer?" Rory whispered to Kimiko, who nodded.
"Hmm...it should go to the winner of the obstacle course challenge," Master Fung decided. Omi cheered loudly, and it echoed down the large tunnel.
"In your head, Raimundo!" Omi taunted the now scowling boy.
"In your face," Raimundo corrected, only for Omi to hold out his hand.
"Talk to my fingers," the boy taunted. Raimundo groaned, fighting back the urge to correct him again.
"That ones a bit outdated, no?" Rory turned to Kimiko. "And I'm from Ireland, everything's outdated there," she smirked, making the girl giggle.
"I didn't mean you, Omi," Master Fung interrupted their antics. "Clay was the fastest," he reminded, looking at Clay, who gave a bashful smile.
"What?" Omi's voice echoed again. "But, he-"
"Use it well," Master Fung didn't listen as Raimundo handed over the Eye of Dashi, and he passed it on to Clay.
"Much obliged, Master Fung, sir," Clay thanked him, just as excited to see how it worked.
"The Mantis Flip Coin," Master Fung handed over the Coin to Raimundo. "And the Two Ton Tunic," he passed the cloth to Kimiko.
"Yeah yeah, alright," Raimundo grumbled, putting the Coin in his pocket.
"Thank you, Master Fung," Kimiko smiled, and Omi pouted.
"I get no Shen Gong Wu?" he whimpered.
"We have but three, Omi. If you and Aurora want one, I suggest you retrieve the Fist of Tebigong, and another Shen Gong Wu," Master Fung replied, unfazed by Omi's attempt at puppy-dog eyes.
"I'm good," Rory replied, unbothered that the others had been given them instead. She did, however, wish that he would stop calling her by her proper name.
"You heard the man! Come on, shake your tails!" Dojo hurried them along. "We've got a Shen Gong Wu to find!" he called.
"Hey, if we get the Fist of Tebigong, I'll trade you for the Two Ton Tunic," Kimiko told Rory, eyeing the Tunic with slight disdain.
"Sure," Rory agreed.
"Who said you would get it?" Omi glowered at her, still upset as they made their way outside.
"Okay, then you can trade Kimiko the Fist of Tebigong for her Two Ton Tunic," Rory replied, and he spluttered as Kimiko laughed.
"Oh, ah!" Dojo grunted as he finally descended to land with the five passengers. "That Fist of Tebigong must be close, cause I'm getting a wicked case of Shen Gong Wu rash!" he complained, scratching at his scales.
"Could you be more specific?" Kimiko asked hopefully as Dojo shrunk down. Rory shivered, looking around as a cold sensation ran down her spine.
"Yeah, it kinda itches here, but it's more burny down there," Dojo listed where the rash was popping up. "And behind my tail I've got this unsightly cracking. I mean it, it's oof," he complained.
"I meant with the location of the Shen Gong Wu!" Kimiko groaned loudly, disgusted by his description.
"I think he's got some kinda allergy to the things," Rory considered, wandering off as the feeling seemed to settle in her stomach, leaving her on edge.
"Can you tell us exactly where it is?" Kimiko sighed.
"It's either that or we look behind every - shite!" Rory cursed as she pushed a bush aside and found herself looking up at Jack Spicer, who wore the blue Third Arm Sash around his waist. She jumped back immediately as his robots flanked him.
"Surprise, surprise," he laughed as the Xiaolin Warriors quickly stood together, moving into fighting stances. "Robo-minions," Jack looked over his shoulder, and the robots flew into the air. Blades emerged from their arms.
"Water!" Omi leapt into action first, jumping between the robots that rushed him.
"Wind!" Raimundo kicked one aside before jumping over another, ripping its head off. He laughed as the body crumpled, and the ripped wires sparked.
"Fire!" Kimiko jumped into the air, using powerful kicks to knock each of the robots to the ground. They crashed, bursting apart in a rain of circuitry and metal. Dojo yelped as he moved to try and avoid the raining debris, before Rory caught him, pulling him to safety.
"Light!" as more of the robots flew after her, Rory moved to dodge one, wincing as the blade nicked her arm. Ignoring the blood that beaded from the cut on her arm, she grabbed its side and swung it around, crashing it into another before leaping up and kicking another. Her boot caught a dip in the metal, and its head was ripped off, rolling along the ground near Clay.
"Clay? Big fight here! Wanna get in the game?" Dojo called from Rory's shoulder, seeing that the cowboy hadn't moved yet.
"Just taking my cleansing breath," he replied as Rory landed near him. "Now I'm ready to - oof!" Clay grunted as one of the robots shoved him over the edge of a small cliff.
"Clay!" Rory moved, using a high-kick to knock the head off the robot. "You okay?" Rory called down, seeing him hanging from a branch.
"Don't worry about me none, just get that Shen Gong Wu!" Clay shouted back up. Looking over at the others, Rory saw as they easily cleared out the robots.
"They've got this!" she shook her head, and moved towards the edge of the cliff. "What did I sign myself up for?" she wondered aloud, before crouching and slipping off the edge. Managing to find a solid rock sticking out of the side, Rory held onto the edge and held down her hand. "Come on!" she called to Clay.
"Gimme a second," he edged towards the cliff face, hoping the branch wouldn't give. Not looking down, Clay tried to ignore the creaking sound of the branch, and breathed a sigh of relief when he reached the side of the cliff, and began to climb. Once he was high enough, he grabbed Rory's hand, and the two climbed back over the edge. "Much obliged, Rory," he sighed as the two sat on the edge for a moment.
"No problem," she smiled back, before getting to her feet. When she turned, Rory frowned when she saw the three standing together.
"What are y'all doing here?" Clay asked as they approached the three.
"Where's Spicer?" Rory asked, not seeing any sign of their opponents. The three seemed to yell at them, banging on the air.
"What's that? I can't hear you!" Clay shouted at them, confused. Distracted, Rory wandered away, feeling the unsettled sensation starting to ease.
"It's them, isn't it? I can sense Wuya and Spicer," she murmured to herself. "But how? Why? None of the others seem to, so why-"
"Rory, come check this out!" Rory turned around at Clay's shout, and found him pressing his hands to the air as Raimundo looked frustrated.
"What's going on?" she walked back over, watching as he moved his hands along as if there was something there. Raising an eyebrow, Rory reached out, and her blue eyes widened as her fingers pressed against something solid.
"That's interesting," she murmured. Finally Kimiko rolled her eyes, grabbing her PDA. She held it up, revealing a message.
"'Trapped by Mime Magic. Stop Jack, get Shen Gong Wu!'," Clay read the message.
"Magic Mime? They've always been obnoxious, but now they're dangerous too?" Dojo groaned.
"I hate mimes. They're almost as bad as clowns," Rory complained as the two walked off.
"What's your problem with clowns?" Clay asked as he held Dojo in his hands, letting the dragon guide them.
"They're creepy," Rory answered simply, making him chuckle.
"I gotta agree," Dojo nodded. "Oh, a little to the left," he directed, and they turned. "Warmer," he sniffed. "You're getting warmer! Yeah, that Fist of Tebigong is so near, I can practically-" Dojo stopped as a figure came into view. "Breaks!" he shouted, forcing the two to stop.
"Oh, well he looks delightful," Rory groaned as Mime stood opposite them. He seemed to be leaning on something, with a hand on his hip, and he wore a small black and white bowler hat, and a red and white striped jumper.
"Don't want no trouble, Mime," Clay warned. Mime smiled, and mimicked Clay, holding out a hand and tipping his hat forwards.
"One of you guys gonna do something?" Dojo asked when neither moved.
"Seems like the fella don't mean any harm," Clay lowered his arm, and moved to the side. The Mime mimicked him, stepping to the right.
"Beat it, Frenchie!" Dojo grumbled as Clay walked forwards.
"Clay, I don't think-" Rory's warning was cut off as the Mime crashed into him, knocking both to the ground.
"He's doing everything I do," Clay complained as he rubbed his head, watching Mime do the same.
"He really is obnoxious," Rory walked over and helped Clay back to his feet. "Though he can't mirror us both at the same time," she considered, starting to move. Mime turned to her, and motioned suddenly, throwing something. "Hey!" she yelped as it felt like something wrapped around her upper body. Mime then yanked an invisible rope, and she cried out as she tumbled to the floor. "Well this is embarrassing," Rory spat out the grass she'd fallen into. Mime immediately went back to mirroring Clay.
"As cute as all this is," Dojo rolled his eyes. "We've got a Shen Gong Wu to find," he reminded them.
"Yeah, yeah," Rory grumbled, struggling against the invisible bonds.
"I reckon I've got an idea!" Clay grinned, raising a fist. "Fella, this is gonna hurt you, more than it'll hurt me," he warned as he aimed the fist inwards. After a couple of swings, he slammed his fist into his eye, making both Dojo and Rory wince.
"Whoa," Dojo laughed as Mime's legs wobbled, and he collapsed. "Way to take one for the team," he praised as the skin around Clay's eye started to change to a darker colour.
"Yeah it's great, but could I get a hand?" Rory asked, still trying to get up.
"For a Mime, he's a good shot with a lasso," Clay considered, grasping the invisible rope and pulling lightly to free her. Rory blushed, embarrassed that she'd been taken down so easily.
"Let's just try and find the Fist of Tebigong so we can forget this whole Mime ordeal," she grumbled.
"I sense the Fist of Tebigong! It's close!" Wuya's shriek reached the three as they stood on a hill above, watching.
"Seems like unnecessary destruction," Rory said as they watched the drillbots smashing through everything in their path. Two then turned on each other, battering each other with the massive drills until they were nothing but scrap.
"Old Wuya's right," Dojo groaned as he shivered. "That Fist is close," he warned.
"Come on, move real quiet-like," Clay whispered as they started to move carefully after Jack and Wuya.
"Don't insult me! I'm all about stealth, and I'm very -" Dojo tripped over a rock and screamed as he began to roll down the hill. He landed heavily, and looked down at the cold metal under him. "Hey! The Fist of Tebigong! Check me out with the moves!" he laughed.
"Yeah, check you out," Jack mocked, making the dragon gulp.
"Security!" Dojo yelped, and Clay and Rory ran past him. Clay rammed Jack with his chest, easily knocking the other boy back, as Rory smashed through one of the robots. The two then turned, and Clay grabbed the Fist of Tebigong as Rory lifted Dojo.
"Giddy up guys!" Clay shouted over his shoulder as they ran away from the robots chasing them. One tried to block their path, but Clay shoved it away, and it slammed into two others. It narrowly missed Jack, who dove to the ground with a shriek.
"Stop them!" Wuya's scream reached them moments before the Third Arm Sash did, grabbing the Fist from Clay.
"To slow, losers," Jack mocked as they stopped and turned to him. "Too slow," he laughed. More robots surrounded them, moving in slowly.
"What are you waiting for? Vaporise them!" Wuya screeched, floating over Jack's shoulder.
"Wuya, Wuya, Wuya, how long have you been at this villain game?" Jack taunted as he admired the large bronze Fist he held.
"I wrecked havoc and destruction when the Earth was still young, and mankind was just crawling out of the mud!" Wuya snapped back at him.
"She's that old huh? No wonder she sounds like nails on a chalkboard," Rory commented, arms folded as she looked from one robot to the other. Wuya snarled at her, hearing her words.
"You still make amateur mistakes!" Jack continued. "Everyone knows; gloating first, then vaporising," he told Wuya, and turned to them. "You've come far, but you didn't count on the magnificently evil mind of: Jack Spicer!" he shouted, laughing loudly. Wuya sighed, slumped in her ghostly form as she was forced to endure his antics.
"You talk too much," Wuya told him.
"Ghost lady's got a point," Clay murmured. Rory nodded her agreement. "Eye of Dashi!" he held up the Shen Gong Wu. Jack shrieked, falling over as the lightning slammed into the robots, causing them to blow up. The Fist of Tebigong sailed through the air, and as Rory turned to knock the last of the robots back, Clay jumped to catch it. Recovering, Jack did the same, and they grabbed it at the same time. Immediately golden light filled the air.
"It's glowing!" Jack shouted as the light of the Shen Gong Wu threatened to blind them.
"Looks like we're headed for a Xiaolin Showdown, you dirty snake," Clay smirked.
"Rory!" the girl looked up as Omi, Raimundo and Kimiko jumped down from above, landing beside her. "What's going on?" Raimundo asked.
"Oh, you got out of the box?" she couldn't help but smile. He rolled his eyes. "Well, you're just in time," she looked over where the two were tugging at the Fist of Tebigong.
"Clay, I challenge you to a Xiaolin Showdown!" Jack shouted.
"Name your game, Jack," Clay pulled back, almost pulling it free of Jack's grip. To his credit, the scrawnier boy held tight.
"That robin!" Jack spotted a bird that flew by to land on a tree. "First one to catch it wins," he challenged. The others winced.
"Catch a robin?" Omi looked up at the others, unsure.
"Okay Jack, I accept your challenge," Clay nodded, ignoring the groans behind him.
"Let's go! Xiaolin Showdown!" the two chorused, and the ground began to shake. Raimundo caught Dojo as the strong winds sent the small dragon flying, and they watched as the ground around their surrounding area lowered down, and the cliffs and trees rose.
"Whoa!" a small pillar of stone rose up as well to lift the spectators up above.
"Still not used to that," Kimiko moaned, her face taking on a sickly colour as she clutched her stomach. Rory took a seat, peering down.
"Ready, cowboy?" Jack called as the robin flew off.
"Ready as I'll ever be," Clay nodded.
"Gong Yi Tanpai!" they shouted loudly, before Jack's helipack activated and he flew off with a laugh.
"Well, at least he didn't use that in the last Showdown?" Rory tried as the others groaned. Jack gave chase to the bird, who dodged the Third Arm Sash, but he kept up, not letting it get away.
"Jack's on fire," Kimiko groaned.
"Yes, but Clay has yet to become inflamed!" Omi peered down at Clay, who hadn't moved as he took deep breaths.
"Well, he's breathing. I'm guessing he's alive," Raimundo shrugged.
"Does he not know the Showdown has started?" Omi wondered as Clay started to stretch. Rory had to agree with them. With only the Eye of Dashi and no way to get off the ground, Clay was already at a big disadvantage.
"Don't worry your pretty little heads. My man Clay is...still doing nothing! Hey! Get your butt in there! Move!" Dojo shouted down at Clay, frustrated.
"Supportive," Rory couldn't help but laugh.
"Look out!" they ducked as Jack flew over their heads, narrowly avoiding them. Clay finally walked away, seeming to be looking at the sunflowers.
"At least shoot some lightning! I just wanna see it once!" Raimundo pleaded with him. Rory spared telling him that Clay had already used it, knowing it would only frustrate the temperamental boy more. Feathers fell from the sky as the Third Arm Sash grazed the robin, but Clay didn't react.
"What's he doing?" Kimiko asked as they watched Clay below, moving between the sunflowers.
"Picking flowers?" Rory guessed.
"This does not inspire confidence," Omi shook his head. Clay removed his hat, holding it in front of him.
"Just tell me when it's over," Dojo sighed, covering his eyes. A shriek echoed from the trees, and they looked over to see Jack falling, having collided with a tree. The robin flew around a little more, before landing on Clay's hand to eat the seeds he'd collected from the sunflowers.
"He did it!" Kimiko laughed as the ground returned to normal, and he looked around as the robin flew away. The Third Arm Sash and Fist of Tebigong materialised in his arms, and he smiled as they praised his win.
"Thanks y'all," he returned his hat to his head, hiding his face.
"Clay has me tripping on very cold stones!" Omi declared, and Raimundo groaned.
"No no no! Clay's got you stone cold tri- ah forget it!" he gave up, too frustrated as Omi didn't seem to pay attention to him.
"The Eye of Dashi! The Fist of Tebigong, and the Third Arm Sash!" Omi listed the Shen Gong Wu from the Showdown that Clay had claimed.
"Way to clean up Clay," Raimundo was impressed.
"I made it out okay, I figure," Clay shrugged, embarrassed by all their praise.
As Dojo flew the group back to the temple, the group were able to relax.
"If I never see another mime again, it'll be too soon," Rory sighed, pulling her headphones onto her head.
"You said it," Raimundo agreed. "What did he do to you?" he asked. Rory was quiet for a moment, before putting her music on.
"I don't wanna talk about it," she grumbled, and he grinned.
"Aw, look at Clay! Beaming like the big hero!" Kimiko teased, seeing the wide smile that hadn't left Clay's face.
"Aw now, you're gonna make me blush!" he protested.
"So, Clay, can I give the Eye of Dashi a try?" Raimundo asked hopefully, batting his eyes at the cheerful cowboy.
"Sure thing Rai," Clay handed it over, and Omi turned around quickly.
"What?! Why! I should try it before you! I found it!" he protested, trying to snatch it from Raimundo.
"You snooze, you lose!" the taller boy taunted, moving it out of his reach.
"Then perhaps I'll try the Fist of Tebigong on your head!" Omi grabbed the newest Shen Gong Wu and threatened Raimundo.
"Guys, knock it off, or I'll Third Arm Sash your mouths shut!" Kimiko warned, irritated by their constant fighting.
"So glad I brought my headphones," Rory sighed.
"Hey, besides fellas, I like to think we all learned something today," Clay interrupted their fighting.
"Never lose faith in a friend?" Kimiko guessed.
"The value of simple solutions?" Omi tried when Clay didn't answer.
"Slow and steady wins the race?" Rory gave it a go.
"Omi can't use slang?" Raimundo grinned, earning a glare from the other boy.
"No, we learned everyone hates a mime," Clay's words had them all laughing, including Dojo, as they forgot about fighting over the Eye of Dashi.
Let me know what you think!
