Chapter 8: My Homie Omi

A cold wind blew through New York, making Rory shiver and pull her coat closer around her as she looked up at the grey sky. They were into the winter season already, and their newest destination was reflecting that weather.

"Whoa!" Omi's exclamation made her look around, raising a gloved hand to keep her hair from her face. "Who is that lady?" his voice was filled with wonder as he stared through the telescope.

"That's the Statue of Liberty, Omi," Kimiko explained patiently.

"She must have been a great Xiaolin Warrior, to get a statue that big!" Omi exclaimed, admiring the statue in the distance. He suddenly let out a shriek that made Kimiko and Rory look around quickly. "I am blinded!" he shouted, hands over his eyes.

"Your time just ran out," Rory laughed lightly. "Here, you just need to feed it another quarter," she handed over the coin, and he accepted it with an embarrassed laugh.

"Thank you, Rory," he bowed, turning back and inserting the coin. "Yes, it is working now," Omi nodded, resuming his lookout as Kimiko and Rory exchanged amused smiles. "Perhaps this will be useful for locating the Shen Gong Wu?" he suggested.

"Good luck," Dojo dismissed as he peered at the Scroll from Clay's shoulder. "The Serpent's Tail is always moving!" he warned.

"Even through solid objects, if I'm reading that right," Clay considered.

"Great," Raimundo rolled his eyes. "We're looking for the Shen Gong Wu that never stops!" he grumbled.

"In the city that never sleeps!" Kimiko exclaimed, excited to be visiting the city. "New York is my kinda town. Anyone wanna catch a show tonight?" she asked, holding up flyers for multiple different shows.

"Whoa!" Dojo shouted, shivering suddenly. "Better not buy those tickets yet! That Serpent's Tail is close!" he warned, looking around quickly.

"We better figure out a way to catch it, if it passes through solid objects," Rory said, following Dojo's guidance as they left the pier and started walking through the streets.

"Yeah, how can we catch something like that?" Raimundo wondered, agreeing with Rory. Omi gasped as they started weaving around the crowd of people going about their day, looking up.

"So many buildings! So many people! How do they all know where they are going?" he asked, weaving around people as they tried not to trip over the short boy.

"I recommend a GPS," Kimiko told him with a smile.

"Definitely don't wanna get lost here, that's for sure," Clay said, looking up at the tall buildings.

"Yeah, one wrong turn and you're a headline: 'Monk mashed in Manhattan'!" Raimundo declared, and Omi raised an eyebrow.

"It's easy enough to figure out where to go. But getting there?" Rory managed to squeeze between people blocking her way. "Should probably set some time aside to get around everyone," she grumbled, staying close to Clay and Raimundo. She didn't like crowds in general, and there were so many people around that it made her nervous.

"No!" Dojo yelped suddenly. "I've lost track of the Serpent's Tail!" he cried, looking panicked.

"Well, maybe it can go through solid objects, but we can see through them with this!" Kimiko opened her back and revealed one of the two Shen Gong Wu that they'd managed to claim after Jack had stolen almost everything from them. "Falcon's Eye!" Kimiko held it to her eye, looking through buildings to see if she could spot it. "Ew!" she shuddered suddenly, letting it fall back into her hand. "That's just sick and wrong," she whimpered, and the others wisely chose not to ask what she'd seen.

"May I look, Kimiko?" Omi asked, and she gladly handed it over to him.

"Knock yourself out," Omi smiled brightly as she did.

"Oh, I can see through walls, and buildings, and cars, and garbage cans and trees!" Omi listed as he wandered around. "Oh, and I can see underground too!" he realised as he looked down. Dojo started to shiver again, letting out a groan.

"It's back!" he yelled a warning.

"Great ghost of Dashi!" Omi pointed to the ground. "The Serpent's Tail!" he took off at a sprint, and the others followed as he shoved past the crowds.

"Omi, wait up!" Rory shouted as Omi kept ahead of them, following the Serpent's Tail below. He leapt over a car, straight into traffic.

"Ay, that boy's gonna get squishified!" Raimundo groaned, barely able to watch. With a yell, Omi leapt up and bounced off the cars in his way, earning several furious yells as he kept going. Finally the lights changed, allowing the others to move.

"Come on!" Kimiko shouted, but as they crossed the road, they found that Omi had vanished.

"Where'd he go?" Clay asked as Dojo used his hat to gain a better vantage point.

"I don't see him," Rory shook her head.

"This way!" Raimundo shouted, managing to spot the boy in the distance. They ran after him, but he soon vanished from sight.

"I still sense the Serpent's Tail!" Dojo said as they looked around. "If we find it, we'll find Omi," Dojo told them. "That way!" he pointed, and the four started running. "No, that way!" he started to stammer, twisting and turning, before finally groaning. "I lost it…" he moaned.

"And Omi too…" Clay murmured.

"The Serpent's Tail is below, right?" Rory asked, and they turned to her. "It's probably in the subway tunnels," she suggested, and lifted the Mantis Flip Coin from her pocket. "I'll use this to try and find Omi, and you guys see if Dojo can sense the Serpent's Tail," she told them.

"Sounds good. Call us if you find anything," Raimundo nodded.

"Mantis Flip Coin!" Rory leapt up into the air, going higher and higher before landing on the roof of a building. "Well, I'm not sure how I feel about that," she murmured to herself, feeling like her stomach had been left behind when she'd started to fall. Shaking her head, Rory scolded herself. "No time. Gotta see if there's any way to find Omi," she leapt again, jumping from rooftop to rooftop, hoping that she was going even remotely in the right direction.

Dropping down into an alleyway, Rory caught her breath and looked at the coin in her hand. "Probably would have been easier to have Dojo fly us around...but they need him to find the Serpent's Tail," she considered aloud to herself, wondering if she'd been too eager to help. "Gotta keep going," she murmured, but stopped when she heard the sound of a can being kicked down the alley.

"Oh?" she looked around at the voice, finding a few boys not much older than herself. Immediately she turned back, and stopped as she found herself looking at a dead-end. She cursed, hand closing around the Mantis Flip Coin. She couldn't use it in front of regular people. "What'cha doing here, girly? Lost?" Rory turned back as the four boys approached her.

"Excuse me," she muttered low, trying to dart around one, but he raised an arm quickly to block her way.

"What was that? Gotta speak up," he grinned, and Rory took a step back. She held the Mantis Flip Coin tighter in her grasp as she met his gaze easily. She wasn't even remotely afraid of the four, who didn't have a trace of evil in them.

"I said excuse me," she said firmly, looking for a way around them.

"Oh, so polite," the same boy drawled.

"Not from around here, are ya?" another laughed. Rory rolled her eyes.

"What gave it away? The manners or the accent?" she bit, and immediately cursed herself. 'Seriously, first Spicer and now these idiots? This is what mam meant about my temper,' she said as the four laughed.

"Oh, I like her," the third boy laughed, spinning a blade around his fingers. Rory resisted rolling her eyes. Even Jack's robots were more intimidating than them. Not that she would even consider saying that out loud.

"Me too," the first boy nodded, seeming to be their ringleader. He stepped forwards, and Rory took a step back. "Oh come on, you ain't shy after that," he taunted.

"Please get out of my way. I'm in the middle of something," Rory ignored his comment, and sighed when all four started to laugh.

"Nah girly, you've come into our territory. You gotta pay the fine," the leader told her.

"I really am in no mood for this," Rory groaned. "So get out of my way," she said, colder this time. The leader's smile started to fade, finally seeming to realise that their poor attempts at intimidation weren't working on her.

"You lost them manners real quick. Let's see if we can help with that," he took another step forward, and Rory tensed, ready to defend herself, when someone cleared their throat.

"Pardon me, but I believe the young lady asked for you to step aside?" the four boys whirled around, and Rory angled to see past them.

An older woman stood in the entrance to the alleyway, hands behind her back. She was Chinese, with silvery-grey hair tied up into twin buns, and a smile that seemed pleasant enough, but Rory could see the danger behind it.

"Butt out, grandma. This is between us and the girl," the leader rolled his eyes.

"How macho of you," he frowned when she laughed lightly. Suddenly she was right behind him, and he whirled around properly, just in time for her elbow to plant into his stomach. The boy grunted, falling to his knees as the others jumped away. With loud curses, they took off. "So brave," she hummed, and her dark eyes moved to Rory, who was staring at her with her jaw hanging open. "Come along," the woman indicated.

"Who…" Rory followed her, eyes wide as they left the boy groaning on the ground. "Who are you?" she asked as the woman walked out of the alleyway and out into the street.

"No time for that now, Aurora," Rory stiffened at the use of her name. "I believe you have a quest that requires your attention," the woman told her gently.

"How do you know my name?" she demanded, staring at the woman. She smiled back patiently at her.

"In time, dear girl. We will meet again soon," the woman told her.

"But-" Rory stopped, head turning automatically. The hairs stood up on the back of her neck, and she cursed quietly as the familiar presence skirted on the borders of her senses. The woman was right, she did have to find Omi. "I-" Rory stopped as she looked around to find that the woman had disappeared. "Well, I guess I'll have to figure out if I'm going mad later," she sighed. "Mantis Flip Coin!" Ignoring the uneasy feeling, Rory leapt back up onto the roof of a building and kept moving, searching for any sign of Omi as she put the stranger to the back of her mind.

Rory was beginning to give up hope that she would find Omi as she leapt around the city, starting to get worn down. It was a massive place to search, and she wasn't even sure if she was even remotely in the right direction. However, she finally spotted him as she landed on a roof, which groaned as if threatening to give way under her. Grimacing as she stayed still in hopes it would settle, Rory peered over the edge and looked down. Relief washed over her as she saw Omi sitting on the steps up to one of the buildings, talking to another boy.

"Omi!" the boy looked up sharply at Rory's call, and smiled as she landed lightly at the bottom of the stairs.

"Rory! I so glad to see that you are no longer lost!" Omi rushed down to her, and Rory's eyebrow rose.

"Me? You're the idiot who ran off alone!" she groaned, putting a hand to her face. "Are you okay?" Rory asked, taking a breath as he nodded, not seeming to register her first words.

"Of course, I am, as you say, orangey!" Omi declared.

"Peachy," Rory corrected patiently.

"That too!" Omi nodded, before turning. "Rory, this is my new friend Jermaine! He has been most helpful," he introduced her to the boy.

"Did you just fall from the sky?" Jermaine asked, staring at Rory.

"Is that some kinda lame pickup?" Rory asked, confused by his words.

"Rory is in possession of one of the Shen Gong Wu that I have told you of," Omi explained, making Rory lift her hand to show the Mantis Flip Coin she held. "It allows her to jump incredible heights!" he told the boy.

"Uh, Omi? Are we allowed to tell people about this?" she asked as he sat down again.

"Jermaine can be trusted with this," Omi nodded brightly, and Rory sighed at how easily the boy trusted everyone around him. She then turned back to Jermaine, and offered a small smile.

"Hey, I'm Rory," she greeted him.

"Jermaine," the boy shook her hand with an easy grin of his own. "So you're part of this Xiaolin temple that Omi talked about? You're a lot more…"

"Normal looking?" Rory guessed, and Jermaine nodded with a laugh.

"We are currently on a quest to find the Serpent's Tail. A most powerful Shen Gong Wu!" Omi told Jermaine, not seeing a woman walking by. She paused, staring at him with a confused look.

"Right," Jermaine spoke slowly, still unconvinced.

"Now that you know, keep your eyes open for anything strange," Omi requested. Rory couldn't help but laugh, and Jermaine smirked.

"Child, what are you doing outside in your pyjamas?" Omi looked around at the woman as she spoke, an eyebrow raised.

"Omi, right now, you're the strangest thing on this street," Jermaine told him, and Rory nodded in agreement. "But we can take care of that," he said confidently, and Omi tilted his head, wondering what his new friend had planned.

Standing at the basketball court where Jermaine and Omi had directed her to, Rory waited for Omi to be ready to continue the search for the Serpent's Tail. Jack and Wuya's presence was moving fast, and she just hoped the others were okay.

"Now that's what I'm talking about!" Rory looked around as Omi walked into view, wearing clothes he'd borrowed from Jermaine. "Omi, player player! I knew you had it in you!" Jermaine exclaimed as Rory tried not to laugh. Omi's usual robes had been replaced with a pale blue jacket and baggy jeans, and he wore a pair of red shoes and a blue beanie.

"Am I, as you say, bling-blinging?" Omi asked, holding up his arms to show that the large baggy sleeves hid his hands.

"Definitely," Jeramine nodded.

"You definitely look...different," Rory told him seriously.

"Jermaine, while I enjoy...representing, I must not let it divert me from my quest," Omi said, becoming serious again as they looked around in hopes of spotting the Serpent's Tail.

"For this...Serpent's Tail thing?" Jermaine asked.

"Correct. Look for anything strange," Omi told him.

"Other than Omi himself," Rory said, and Jermaine laughed a little as they started walking.

"Omi, this is New York. Strange here is normal," he explained, before Rory grabbed Omi's shoulder, stopping him.

"Omi, Jack and Wuya are headed this way," she warned him, and he looked around at her.

"This way? But...where?" Omi asked, looking around. A moment later, there was a flash of light, and a long green curled tail shot from the ground. It bounced around the court, as Jermaine grabbed a hold of Omi.

"I know I said strange here is normal...but this might qualify," he yelped.

"The Serpent's Tail!" Omi launched himself at the Serpent's Tail as Rory did the same. However, it was too fast, avoiding their grasp.

"Omi, they're here!" Rory warned as she got up.

"What? Where?" Omi frowned as they looked around to see nobody else around. Rory blinked rapidly, trying to work it out, before her eyes dropped to the ground.

"Well, that's new," she commented before the ground began to shake. "Get back!" Rory grabbed Omi and Jermaine's arms and pulled them backwards as the ground erupted. A massive robot emerged from the ground, towering over them.

"Yeah...this is definitely strange," Jermaine commented as Omi and Rory moved into fighting stances. "I'm guessing these aren't the good guys," he gave a weak chuckle as the robot moved, catching the Serpent's Tail as it flew by. The robot then turned back to them, looking down as its other arm moved to point at them, revealing a massive blaster.

"Uh oh," Omi gulped.

"Yeah...I don't care for this," Rory groaned as the arm began to light up with energy.

"Maybe we should run?" Jermaine suggested, voice rising in pitch. However, the ground began to rumble again, and Dojo burst out, slamming the robot. It fell, releasing the Serpent's Tail. "That's a...dragon?" Jermaine gasped, staring at Dojo as he shrank down.

"Ow! Told you it chafted!" Dojo groaned, rubbing his chest after having moved along the train tracks.

"Dojo!" Omi smiled as the others ran over.

"You're alive!" to their surprise, Raimundo lifted Omi into his arms, hugging him tightly. "Don't you ever scare us like that again!" he shouted as Omi struggled. "We were so worried-" he stopped, realising everyone was watching him. He immediately dropped Omi, going red. "What? I was worried," Raimundo defended.

"So we could see," Rory grinned, and he nudged her lightly.

"Good to see you found him in one piece," Clay told her. Rory sighed heavily.

"It's been a weird day," she said, exhausted.

"Hello? Someone wanna grab this Shen Gong Wu?" Dojo yelped, having managed to grab the Serpent's Tail. He fell with a cry, forced to release the moving Shen Gong Wu.

"Quickly!" Omi was the first to react, and they ran after it.

"Couldn't agree more!" Jack emerged from his robot, flying towards the Shen Gong Wu.

"Come on, you-" Rory skidded to a stop before running into a wall, as Raimundo, Clay and Jermaine fell and Kimiko narrowly avoided doing the same. "Omi!" she turned quickly and threw him the Mantis Flip Coin.

"Mantis Flip Coin!" Omi leapt towards the Serpent's Tail, bouncing along. "Got it!" he managed to grab the end with a grin, before realising that Jack had reached it at the same time.

"Omi, I challenge you to a Xiaolin Showdown!" he declared, and Omi groaned loudly.

"Urgh, Jack Spicer, why are you always up in my busyness?!" he complained, glaring at the taller teen. "Name your challenge!" Omi allowed, giving the Serpent's Tail another tug.

"Huh…" Jack hummed, looking around. "Basketball! One-on-One, ten minutes on the clock. My Jetbootsu against your Mantis Flip Coin," he challenged.

"But…" Omi paled. "I do not know how to play this game of baskets and balls," he admitted.

"I do," Jermaine said as he stood beside Omi. "Put me in the game," he suggested.

"Who's this guy?" Clay asked Rory as the other four warriors stood on the sidelines.

"Jermaine. He's Omi's new friend," Rory explained briefly.

"No way! I challenged you, Omi. Not this kid," Jack denied firmly.

"Aw, you afraid of getting whooped, little boy?" Jermaine smirked at him, making Omi grin as Jack's eyes widened.

"Hey, I like this guy," Raimundo laughed.

"No way Spicer's ever played basketball in his life," Rory considered, and Jack turned a glare on them.

"Hey, enough out of the peanut gallery," he shot as his pale features turned red.

"Jack Spicer is right," Omi sighed. "Only I can accept his challenge. Unless…" his eyes lit up as an idea came to mind.

"Unless what?" Jack scowled, not liking where this was going.

"Unless I challenge you to a Shen Yi Bu Dare! Me and Jermaine against you and…" Omi trailed off.

"Who? Wuya?" Jack gave a derisive laugh.

"Uh...no hands," Wuya denied, holding up her see-through hands.

"And no game," Jack added, earning a glare from her. "But don't worry, I got the answer," he pressed a button on his watch, and his fallen robot got back up. "Meet my first round draft pick," he gestured as Omi and Jermaine stared up at the towering robot.

"I am not feeling...all that and a bag of chips anymore," Omi admitted.

"For real…" Jermaine said in a low voice.

"So my Jetbootsu and Shroud of Shadows, against your Flip Coin and…"

"The Falcon's Eye is the only other Shen Gong Wu I have," Omi held up the other Shen Gong Wu. The others winced. After Jack's raid on their vault weeks ago that left them with only the Mantis Flip Coin, they'd only managed to lay claim to two more Shen Gong Wu; the Falcon's Eye, and the Sapphire Dragon, and the latter was too dangerous to use.

"That'll do," Jack shrugged.

"Anybody worried?" Clay asked the others.

"Yep!" Kimiko nodded without hesitation.

"Uh, yeah," Raimundo also agreed.

"Ditto," Rory was just as worried.

"Good…" Clay sighed, turning back. "Didn't wanna be the only one," he muttered.

"Let's go! Xiaolin Showdown!" Omi and Jack shouted, activating the showdown. The ground suddenly broke, lifting the court and sidelines up at a rapid pace so fast that they struggled to stay on their feet from the pressure. The court itself then began to break apart, leaving only the white lines. With a yell, Jermaine fell, barely managing to grab hold. It then stopped as quickly, sending everyone into the air.

"That was dignified," Rory spoke sarcastically as she got back to her feet and helped Kimiko to hers.

"Omi?" Jermaine gulped as he peered down. "Dog, what is all this?" he asked as he finally managed to climb back up.

"This is a Xiaolin Showdown!" Omi declared, as if that cleared everything up.

"Right…" Jermaine nodded slowly. "Think I might have made a big mistake here," he whimpered, and Rory couldn't fault him. He'd been thrown into the deep end, and he didn't even know what the Shen Gong Wu really were.

"Too late for that! It's game time!" Jack wasn't so sympathetic. "Or as we like to say…"

"Gong Yi Tanpai!" he and Omi chorused. The Serpent's Tail flew from their grasp, and changed into a basketball midair. It spun in front of the scoreboard as the hoops grew even taller, before the ball dropped.

"Jetbootsu!" Jack caught the ball, flying over their heads to immediately dunk the ball into the hoop without landing. The board immediately updated to show 0-2, and he cheered as the others groaned from the sidelines.

"This is gonna be a painful ten minutes," Rory sighed.

"Two points?" Jermaine called as he caught the ball and started running. "Nothing to strut about, boy," he tossed it to Omi, but before his team-mate could catch it, it was sucked up into the robot's hand. The robot caught it between two claws and stretched out its arm, dropping into the net to give them another two points.

"Oh yeah! Can I strut now?" Jack taunted.

"You got the game to back up that mouth?" Jermaine asked as he got the ball again.

"No, I got the Shroud of Shadows!" Jack vanished, and Jermaine's eyes widened before he tripped, dropping the ball. Omi reached for it, only for his trousers to drop. Yelping, the boy leaned down to pull them back up, and the ball slammed into his head. Jack's laughter echoed as the ball seemed to float, invisible, and shot towards the net again to give three points, putting the total at 0-7.

"Jermaine's got game, but when it comes to Shen Gong Wu…" Raimundo trailed off.

"He's completely outmatched," Kimiko groaned. Omi glared at Jack as he reappeared, laughing loudly.

"Omi, we gotta get our game up," Jermaine went over to Omi, out of breath.

"Right!" Omi nodded. "Mantis Flip Coin!" he yelled. Jumping up, Omi flipped through the air, snatching the ball from Jack. He bounced off the robot's head, and dropped the ball into their net.

"Alright!" Raimundo shouted as they cheered loudly.

"Now that's what I'm talking about!" Jermaine cheered.

"Here, you try it," Omi offered up the Coin to him as Jack scowled.

"Oh yeah, it's a game now!" he took the Mantis Flip Coin from Omi. When Jack blocked his path, Jermaine feinted left before darting forwards, getting past him.

"Hey!" Jack yelled, watching as Jermaine leapt up to score more points.

"Defence, defence!" Wuya shrieked as Omi and Jermaine worked together to score again. With two and a half minutes left, they managed to tie the score.

"They're getting used to it, this could work," Rory considered as Dojo cheered loudly.

"Jermaine, we are doing well!" Omi said as they ran across the court. "Perhaps I have obtained game!" he exclaimed.

"It's 'got game', Omi," Jermaine corrected, barely even looking where he was going. "And yeah, you definitely-" he was cut off as the robot suddenly stomped down, pinning him to the ground hard enough to almost cut off his airway.

"Got no chance," Jack said as Omi shrieked in alarm. He took the ball from the fallen boy with a smirk. "Thank you," he took off again.

"Omi!" Jermaine threw him the Mantis Flip Coin. Omi caught it with a grin.

"Mantis Flip Coin!" he leapt through the air as everyone stared, holding their breaths as the final ten seconds ticked down. Omi blocked the net and headbutted the ball hard, sending it flying backwards. It hit Jack in the face, and the boy dropped like a sack of bricks, leaving Omi to grab it as he shot by. He kicked the robot, freeing Jermaine, and headed straight for the net as the robot fell with a loud crash, and Omi dropped the ball into the net right before the buzzer.

"Yeah!" the group cheered as Clay hugged Raimundo in his excitement, squeezing the air from Raimundo's lungs.

"Final score: Heylin 28, Xiaolin 30!" Kimiko cheered loudly as Wuya screamed in her rage. The ball still in Omi's hands began to glow, letting everything return to normal.

"I was so robbed!" Jack complained from the ground.

"Were you?" Wuya sneered at him. "I'm beginning to suspect you don't have game at all!" she accused.

"You're only just figuring that out?" Rory asked as she passed them, and Jack pulled a face as Wuya grumbled.

"Omi dog, your size is too tight," Jermaine praised Omi as they all ran over to the boy, who now held five Shen Gong Wu in his arms.

"Should I loosen it?" Omi asked, not understanding.

"Most definitely not, my friend. Most definitely not," Jermaine told him.

"Hey Rory, what's got you thinking so deep?" Clay asked as Dojo flew the five from New York. After determining that it was indeed the burrito he'd eaten, and not a new Shen Gong Wu, Dojo was headed back to the temple, and while Omi was babbling on about basketball, holding the ball that Jermaine had given him as a goodbye present, Rory had been even quieter than usual.

"Huh?" she blinked, looking around at the cowboy.

"Everything okay?" Kimiko asked, looking concerned. Rory smiled, nodding at her.

"Yeah, it's okay," Rory soothed her quickly. "It's just, when I was looking for Omi, I met this woman," she told them, thinking back to her strange encounter. "She helped me out with something, but...she knew my name," she told them.

"Which name?" Raimundo asked, and Kimiko nudged him.

"The name I don't use," Rory gave him a droll stare, and he smiled back innocently. "It was weird. She definitely knew who I am, and that we were looking for the Serpent's Tail. And then she disappeared as fast as she showed up," she told them, and they all frowned, confused.

"She knows about the Shen Gong Wu? How?" Kimiko wondered.

"Well since Omi was so quick to tell Jermaine…" Rory looked at him, and his eyes widened.

"I only told Jermaine. My lips were shut," Omi insisted.

"Sealed," Raimundo corrected.

"Yes, sealed," Omi nodded as the Wind Dragon rolled his eyes.

"Huh," they looked at Dojo as he hummed to himself. "Suppose it was only a matter of time before she made contact," he considered.

"You know who she was, Dojo?" Rory asked. "Who? Is she good?" she pressed, and he chuckled.

"You'd know that before anyone else, kid," he pointed out, and Rory blushed. She hadn't sensed anything off with the woman, but then again, she hadn't sensed that Kimiko had been replaced with an evil robot either. "Don't worry. You'll meet her again in time," Dojo told them.

"You taking notes on how to be more like Master Fung?" Clay asked as Rory grumbled under her breath about the lack of answers.

"You pick up on a few things, spending as much time with him as I have," Dojo replied. Rory sighed, as she was once again left with more questions than answers.

I'm having a lot of fun writing this again (so much so I've been putting off checking out the new Final Fantasy 14 patch that came out today so I could finish another chapter). It's been a while since I've really enjoyed writing this much, it's nice.

I hope you liked the chapter!

Please review!
