Undertale's out on xbox! I'm very happy. I got it the moment I found out, and I found out on accident!
I'm just so so so happy.
Quick shout-out to DarkYuty, any jokes you find in this story will probably be from them!
Also, I'm sorry if my explanation at the end is a bit all over the place, but this idea is something I've been thinking about for a while, and if it's received positively, then it'll be started after I put up the reaction for 0.4
"Oh, hey, you're back! I gotta say, you were kinda out of this world for a while."
Error blinked, reaching up to rub at his eyelights to clear his vision as Outer's soft laughter reached him, grounding him back into reality.
Cloudy eye lights landed on Outer's form, not too close but not too far, and Error couldn't help but think back to the last time he'd awoken to a look of such care.
It'd been a while since Error had lived up to his title and namesake, destroying his first and only friend in one of the worst ways possible.
"Umm, are you okay? Am I too close," Outer scrambled back, expression turning shy. "I remember you told us not to go near you..."
"It's fine." Error gruffly responded as he took in his surroundings. Their surrounding had... changed? It no longer looked as though their surroundings were replicating the standard skeleton brother living room, but rather, it was attempting to imitate the entire house. "Where the funk are the other abominations?"
"With your rebooting, we figured we'd take a break, and... the rest of the house appeared?" Outer gestured vaguely to their surroundings. "We're not sure how it happened, but it's giving us all privacy to talk, so nobody's complaining."
"So, they're wasting time." Error scoffed, tugging on his scarf and letting his gaze linger on Outer. "Why are you still here?"
"I just wanted to be sure you'd be okay." Outer's flush of embarrassment looked oddly reminiscent of stardust with its array of unique colours. "The others agreed to take a break-even if you were to reboot quickly, so we're not starting for a while."
Letting out a long-suffering sigh, Error wrapped his strings around Outers wrist and yanked him up onto the other side of the sofa.
"Umm, Error?"
"Shut up." Error pulled out the puppet he'd been working on before, carefully keeping it out of Outer's view, the glitchy skeleton continued to work. "This is better than having you gawk at me while we wait."
Silence settled between the two after this.
Error wasn't sure whether to call the silence comfortable or not, but he didn't oppose the other's presence, so long as he stayed on his side of the sofa, Error wouldn't complain.
"Hey, Error?"
"What."
"...Nevermind. I just thought of a vacuum joke, but it kinda sucked."
"... Was that-?"
"...Yeah..."
There was a shift in the air as the silence briefly made its return.
"...Error?"
A beat.
"Can you come up with anymore?"
Error isn't sure he regrets his words when Outer's smile shines bright like the stars of his world. "How do you step up a space party? You planet!"
Error slowed down his pace with the puppet as he snorts. It wouldn't do to ruin a potential-
Statement Redacted
"Of all the worlds to pick from, how could they possibly end up in my world!? I mean, really, what is that luck?"
Core's solemn expression does nothing to soothe Stretch's fraying nerves as he paced back and forth in the small bedroom that typically belongs to the Sans of an AU.
Oh... oh no. Sans.
"Oh Toriel, what about Sans?" At Core's confused expression, Stretch struggled to stifle his laughter. "I'm talking about Blue, or Blueberry, whatever nickname you've all given my brother. Honestly, you're as bad as Ink sometimes."
"No one can be that bad, Papyrus. You should calm down." Core reached out, their tiny hands looking insignificant as they wrap around his own much larger ones. "Blue will survive, your Sans will survive. Have faith."
"You don't get it, Frisk." He can't help his tone as he says their name. Thoughts of his Frisk always leave him feeling sick. "At least with resets, there was some sense of security. I was always afraid the kid wouldn't come back and leave us all dead, but that's nothing compared to this. We've never dealt with anything like this before."
"I have made my offer before, have I not? I helped get rid of your Frisk to get you the pacifist ending you wanted, but I did tell you nothing would be permanent." Core tilted their head obliviously as Stretch's eye lights flickered in despair. "They will come back, and your world will be reset and sent back into the throes of Genocide."
"And when that time comes, we'll go to the Omega timeline." Stretch shut his sockets almost painfully as he collapsed onto the nearby mattress, carefully pulling Core into his lap as he does so. "But this is too soon. I thought I'd have time, I... I thought we'd have time."
"Sometimes, time is a blessing." Core's fingers wrapped themselves around Stretch's hoodie as they relaxed into their companion, struggling to keep their eyes open. "Other times, it is nothing but a curse..."
Core's words came out as a whisper barely heard by Stretch as his own shuddering soul sounded too loud at that moment, mockingly trying to ensure no one else would overhear the timeless child's empty words.
"It's just like our very own existence. A blessing and a curse."
"Alright, you bastards, LET'S MOVE IT!" Chara was shouting at the top of his lungs, looking giddy as he took his place on the ground.
"What's got you in a good mood?" Error growled, sockets narrowed as he watched Stretch and Core emerge from one of the bedrooms upstairs.
"None of your business." Chara snapped back, eyes glowing before he turned to grin at Core. "Guess what, I found this cool room with Dream and Fresh through a passageway in the sink!"
Error twitched.
"Sounds interesting." Core smiled, "Is there anything in there?"
"Rooms Pretty Empty, But Ma Dreamy Broski Figured We Could Add Some Stuff To It!" Fresh skipped into the room with Dream trailing behind him, both wearing happy smiles.
"What took you so long?" Chara's eyes narrowed and he pointed at the duo accusingly. "Were you talking about me behind my back?"
"Not all of us can float through walls." Dream deadpanned, dropping his pillow-cape in front of Chara. "It's basically cheating."
"True Dat." Fresh started to snigger to himself, but he paused as his glasses filled with question marks. "We Changin' Seats Now?"
If Fresh hadn't pointed it out, no one would have realised their unconscious actions.
Core and Stretch now shared a sofa, with Error and Outer occupying another, though still seated as far apart as they were able to, it left the middle sofa empty.
"You three can have it." Outer pulled a pillow into his lap, unsurprised when they dismissed the offer.
"It's more fun this way." Chara's response was amplified by the way he spread his body out on the ground. "Lotsa room down here."
"Suit yourself."
"Continue." Core's voice sent the room into a brief silence, and all eyes soon turned to the screen.
But... this... it's not Underswap they're watching.
Moments after the screen flickered to life to show more of their future, Chara's spectral form had wavered, and his breath hitched.
How dare they, just when he was starting to feel safe...
Alone in a dark expanse, a Gaster sat, only their back shown to those watching.
"This is... ominous." Outer buried his skull into the pillow he'd been holding against his chest, an unknown emotion filling him.
The screen seemed to shudder like an old film as a long-lost memory of golden flowers, and a field appeared.
Stretch, while not outwardly showing it, couldn't help but feel the same as Outer. He was glad he had more time before he'd see his home, but this... this had a sense of wrongness to it. They were seeing something that wasn't meant to be seen.
The image glitched out, and the version of Gaster was shown again, but he had turned. It felt like he was staring directly at them, through the screen.
*Friend
His body glitched and turned downright horrific, melted and twisted, mangled beyond repair.
"Stars." Dream whimpered, placing a hand over his mouth with his eye sockets kept firmly shut. He couldn't-
What were they watching? He felt sick.
*Don't hate me
Error resisted his instinctual urge to scoff at those words. This was... This was not normal. Even he wasn't sure if he could bring himself to make much noise. The near-silence coming from the scene they were watching, filled only with static when the Gaster spoke, it warded off any noise he wished to make.
This was too familiar.
The glitching ended as soon as it came, and he returned to his former pitiful state.
*Friend...
Chara couldn't breathe. He, he just couldn't bring himself to even move while that thing was on the screen.

The memory returned, this time different. Two children sat in the distance, looking like the only solid forms in a faded world.
'I can't' Chara wanted to say, but the words caught in his throat as he fled from the room and into the kitchen, crawling through the sink and into the secret room behind it.
'I can't take it'
'please help me'
The children vanished, and the Gaster sat alone, looking much more alive, slumped on a tree stump with his skull in his hands, defeated. Paper was scattered at his feet.
*Help me
help me
At those words, Dream snapped out of his own panicked mind and rushed off into the kitchen, following Chara.
Back in the dark expanse, the Gaster was fully turned towards his viewers, deformed face making it look as though he were laughing while also struggling to breathe.
Core's breathing slowed as they focused on the Gaster. They didn't recognise him. Core was everywhere, but they couldn't identify this Gaster.
It scared them, the unknown. This feeling... hurt.
Core didn't want to feel like this. They felt weak and defeated. They felt helpless.
*i'm
*sorry
*everyone
His words were shaky, sucked away into the silence of the dark expanse surrounding him.
*it's not fair
*am i right?
"nothing's fair." Fresh' words weren't heard even by himself with how quietly he spoke them.
Glancing to the others in the room, he let out a sigh before making his way into the kitchen to follow his two radical broskis.
He didn't want to be alone, so that must mean they needed someone too.
A blurry figure was shown, still seeming like they were from an old film despite how little of them anyone could see.
Error's glitching increased the longer he stared at the blurry figure.
"Typical. What else was I expecting?" His voice sounded wrong and his words felt bitter as no one else seemed to recognise the blurry figure.
Three were missing, Core was lost in their own world, Outer was in a daze, and Stretch was too determined not to think about what was being shown to understand. No one else could piece together what he had.
Error was alone in his findings.
The black expanse returned, but no one was there, just an echo of the being's words left behind.
*come back
Chara, Fresh and Dream did not return to the room.
They were all taking another break, and things were only going to get worse.
So, I'm not sure how to phrase this.
I've been working on a couple ideas for this fic, and I'm curious if this is something you'd all be interested in.
Following this current fic, I'm planning on having a series of mostly one-shots and a couple short fics centred around what would happen after our protagonists were sent back to their multiverse.
But other than that, I was thinking about... doing this fic again? But with different characters.
I've had people question why I haven't included certain characters before, and it's always been because of a very specific and detail orientated criteria the characters have to meet. But because of this, I have been considering using the other characters that did fit into this small criteria.
I'll still be using exactly the same dialogue for what is shown on the screen, but some scenes may be omitted or scenes that aren't being shown in this fic can be shown in the other. Some descriptions will also be different. (The best example is Xtra scene 1, as there won't be any angry Errors to interrupt.)
I can safely say if this did happen, there's a good chance I'd be including Cross, Nightmare, and Killer. Sort of like the opposites to those already in the room.
I won't be using Classic, Gaster (don't even think about it) or Ink. (I don't know where I stand with Fell)
If it's an idea you'd like, I'm also open to suggestions for which characters to use, as it can be anyone that has a role in Underverse.
The first part would be out before I move onto XTale for this current group.
I hope I managed to explain my intentions well enough, and thank you for reading!
