Ash's wound is all healed up and he's ready to go and face Oliva. So after breakfast, Ash headed down over to where he'll met Oliva. When he got outside however, there was a probopass with a note on it. It was from Oliva, and it says she wanted to go to the Ruins of Life. Ash told the probopass to tell show Dawn the note if it sees her, as she told him to go on without him because she has a surprise for him. His rotomdex showed him where to go to get to the Ruins of Life and he went there.

Ash was running toward where the Ruins of Life was, but then stopped when he heard someone speak to him.
"So you're the one Gladion was talking about?" the woman asked.
Ash turned around and faced her. "Gladion… I've heard that name before," Ash thought.
The girl walked up to Ash with a displeased look on her face. "You don't look special to me at all."
"What?"
"The names Plumeria. I keep those numskulls at team skull together, like a big sister."
"Why?"
"They are just so cute in their dumbness."
"…Cute?"
"Yes! And I don't like it when you pick on my cute brothers and sisters!"
Ash furrowed his eyebrows in a frown. "You are messed up in more ways than one! If I see you and your other thug siblings around causing trouble, I have no qualms of 'picking on' you people!'"
Pikachu shouted at her too.
Plumeria barred her teeth at him with a low growl as she sent out her golbat.
"Go get em, Pikachu!" Ash shouted.
Pikachu jumped down off Ash's shoulder and in front of the golbat.
Golbat started off with Air Cutter, but Pikachu quickly bypassed it with Volt Tackle, and Golbat went down. Plumeria then sent out her salandit, and Ash took it out with his Lycanroc.
"…You're pretty strong, I'll give you that much. But just try and mess with anyone in team skull again, and I'll really make you regret it!" Plumeria then walked off.
"Just try me," Ash said.

Then a woman walked up with some pikachu. "Your pikachu is amazing!"
Ash laughed as he scratched the back of his head. "Well, I've been with him for quite a while."
"I noticed your battle when I was by the graveyard. Your Pikachu knows Volt Tackle?"
"Yeah!"
"Well then, you are defiantly able to use this!" She gave him a Z-Crystal.
"…What type is this crystal?"
She laughed. "It isn't a type, but a Pikanium-Z! Only used for pikachus that know Volt Tackle!"
Ash smiled. "Wow, awesome! Thank you!"
"Don't mention it! Good luck on your challenge!" She then left.

Dawn was hurrying along to her rotomdex, who was telling her where to go. She read the note from Probpass and was hurrying as fast as she could to the Ruins of Life. But she was stopped when she saw two team skull guys with a slowpoke and a couple people in white.
"Give back that pokemon!" the girl in white said.
"Given us trouble? I'll reduce you to ruble!" a team skull grunt shouted.
"True yo, we gonna go and sell this pokemon to get rich! If you want it back, just try and take it from us!" the other grunt said.
"Don't fret! Just think of what the president would say!" the guy in white wearing green googles said.
"But you don't lift a finger!" the girl in white said.
"That's because I'm the Aether Foundation's last line in defense! What where to happen to the foundation if something happened to me here?" The guy then noticed Dawn. "Well there's a promising looking trainer there! Why don't you fight in my place and rid these team skull ruffians?"
Dawn looked over at the slowpoke. The googles guy rubs her the wrong way, but she can't let team skull get away with stealing that slowpoke. "Leave it to me!" She sent out Torracat, while a team skull grunt sent out a raticate. Raticate attacked Torracat with a Hyper Fang and really hurt Torracat, but then Dawn used inferno overdrive and knocked out the raticate.
"Dang, she's no joke!" the skull grunt shouted.
"You are just horrible at battling, yo!" the other grunt said.
"Whatever, we don't need this lame pokemon anyways."
The two team skull members then left.
"Thank you so much, girl! You will have great honor bestowed from me now!" the google guy said.
Dawn looked at him with a frown. "…Don't mention it."
"But I should, at the very least reward you for your help! Whenever you have the time, come to the Hano Grand Resort, and I'll take you to a wondrous place!"
"A-Alright…"
Her pikachu then popped out from his ball and ran up to the girl dressed in white, happily shouting at her. Dawn and the girl gave him a confused look.
"Pikachu… Do you know her?" Dawn asked.
She then gasped and let out an, "Ah! You must be that pikachu that was in Digletts Tunnel!" She knelt down and petted Pikachu's head. "I had a feeling you had a trainer."
"You ran into my pikachu in Digletts Tunnel?"
"Yes. He was injured, and I helped him recover."
"I… Well thank you so much! I don't know how I ever could repay you!"
"… All I ask, is you make sure Pikachu isn't put into danger like that ever again."
Dawn frowned. "Of course. I… I never intended to put him in danger in the first place."
She gently smiled at Dawn. "I'm sure you didn't! My name is Amanda."
"I'm Dawn."
"It was nice meting you Dawn. But I have a lot of work I must be doing. Though, I do hope we see each other again."
Dawn let out a small smile. "Yeah! Same here!"
They said their goodbyes, and the two from the Aether Foundation left.
Dawn smiled down at Pikachu. "I'm so sorry, Pikachu."
Pikachu shook her head, telling her there was no reason for her to be.
She smiled and petted him. "I'm just glad, that you're okay now."

Ash arrived at the Ruins of Life, but then a familiar voice called out to him. Ash turned around and saw Burnet, Lillie, and Nebby.
"Hey you two! What brings you here?" Ash asked.
"Lillie got a little lost on the way here, so I came along to help her make it here," Burnet said.
"I-I wanted to be careful with team skull around, so I took a little detour to avoid them, but…" Lillie said.
Burnet snickered a bit. "The poor girl couldn't even find her way to the Tide Song Hotel by herself."
"Hey Lillie, maybe next time that we need to split up, maybe you can borrow my rotomdex, so you wouldn't get so lost," Ash said.
"Oh! Well… That's very kind of you. But, what would you do if you and Dawn had to spit up…" Lillie looked around. "Like you seemed to have now…" she muttered.
Ash let out a nervous laugh. "Yeah. Honestly, I'm probably worse than you when it comes to getting lost."
Ash's rotomdex came out with a pout. "Oh come on Ash! Why do you have to get my hopes up like that?"
Ash gave him a confused look. "What do you mean?"
Nebby came floating towards Ash. "Pew!"
Pikachu hopped down from Ash's shoulder and happily greeted him.
"Good to see you too, Nebby!" Ash said.
"I came here for Nebby. But… I don't understand. Why are the ruins so important? What do the guardians mean to Nebby?" Lillie stated.
Oliva then came out of a tunnel. "I was summoned by Tapu Lele to clean these ruins. But now I'm finished and am ready to start our battle, Ash!"
Lillie stood to the side with Nebby to watch the battle.

Dawn ran as fast as she could toward the Ruins of Life. She made it there, but saw that she was late for the start of the battle. Dawn sent out her pokemon to get ready to surprise him. Once everyone was set up, she ran out by Lillie to watch.
"It's great to see you, Lillie!" Dawn said.
"D-Dawn! Is… are you doing that for Ash?" Lillie asked after seeing her attire.
"Of course! If I knew you'd be here, I would've thought of bring some stuff for you too!" Dawn noticed that Oliva had a nosepass out, while Ash had Dartix, and it seemed to be struggling. "Come on, Dartix! You can do it!" Dawn shouted. Her and her pokemon moved their pom poms and started cheering. Torracat was the only one who didn't care about cheering, as she fell asleep.
Ash looked over to Dawn with a shocked look on his face. "Dawn!" He beamed, seeing her in a cheerleading outfit. Things where looking a bit bad, as he already lost Araquanid, and now Dartrix was struggling. But now he feels the motivation he needs to turn this around. With a Razor Leaf Nosepass went down!
"Alright!" Dawn shouted.
"… I'm not so sure," Lillie said.
"Huh?" Dawn questioned.
Lillie explained Ash's situation of losing one pokemon already, and Dartix being on his last leg. And that if Ash loses two more pokemon, he'll lose.
Dawn smirked at Ash. "Well, I have faith in him."
Oliva sent out Boldore next.
Dartrix hit Boldore with a Razor Leaf, but then got knocked out by its Rock Slide. Crabrawler came out next, and knocked out the Bolder with a Brick Break.
Dawn and her pokemon happily cheered for Ash and Crabrawler.
Oliva sent out her lyacroc.
Both pokemon started off using a Z-Move. Lycanroc started off with Continental Crush and Crabrawler used the Breakneck Blitz. Crabrawler and Lycanroc both got hit hard by the move, but when Lycanroc came to the ground, it fainted. Crabrawler put its pincers up in the air as a victory pose.
Buneary came running towards them.
Crabrawler looked at her with a big smile and sparkly eyes.
Buneary tackle hugged Ash's Pikachu.
Crabrawler looked down at the ground with a sad look, and cried. He knows Pikachu didn't do anything, and wondered why Buneary was coming to him.
Buneary apologized about what happened in Digglets Tunnel.
Ash's pikachu asked what she means.
Buneary told him about the time that she almost got them attacked by team skull's pokemon.
Ash's pikachu put a hand on her shoulder, and told her don't worry about it. It was an honest mistake, and that her saving him from the diglett means so much more than a small mistake.
Buneary smiled real big, and hugged Ash's pikachu.
Dawn's pikachu came over and asked Buneary where's his apology for acting like a jerk to him.
Burneary stopped hugging Ash's pikachu and told Dawn's pikachu that it deserves no apology.
They both were shouting at each other, and Ash's pikachu just sighed.
Dawn came over. "What are you two arguing about?" She sighed as she returned them.
Oliva walked over to Ash. "Great job Ash! Here, take this Rockium Z, the rock type Z-Crystal!" She handed the Z-Crystal to Ash.
"Thanks Oliva!" Ash said.
"Now pay close attention, because this is how you use Rockium Z's move!" Oliva said. Then she showed Ash the dance for Rockium Z.
Everyone left the ruins, and Oliva returned to get back to work.
Ash ginned at Dawn. "That was quite the surprise Dawn! Thanks for cheering me on!"
Dawn smiled at him. "Anytime Ash! I'll always cheer you on!"
Ash picked her up and spun her around then held her close to face. "You do so much for me!"
"You really think so?" Dawn then took his hat. "Maybe this is a start for paying me back?" She stuck her tongue out with a wink.
Ash laughed. "It looks cute on you, but I thought you weren't a hat person."
Dawn placed it back on his head. "You sure know me well!"
Lillie smiled as she watched them interact. She was happy to see them get along so well, as last time there seemed to have been something going on. "So, have you figured out what you two plan on doing next?"
Dawn went back down to the ground. "That's right! I got invited to go to the Grand Resort Hotel by the Aether Foundation for helping them out!"
"Oh? A-Aether Foundation? S-sounds nice… but I just remembered I have something to do! You two have fun, and I'll catch up with you later! Bye!"
Ash and Dawn said their goodbyes to her as she ran off.
Ash looked to Dawn. "Who's the Aether Foundation?"
"I'm… not really sure. Though, they really seem to care about pokemon."
Ash smiled. "That sounds cool! Can't wait to see what they have in store!"
"Right! Then let us head out tomorrow!"
"Sounds good!"

The next morning, Dawn and Ash where training with their other pokemon watching on the side like usual, when an argument stopped them in their tracks.
"Give me my stone back!" a kid shouted.
"Why should I? You always ruin everything for me!" the other boy shouted.
"Please! You know how important it is to me!"
"You need it? Then go fetch it!" The guy blindly chucked it towards Ash's pikachu, who was distracted by an apple in the tree.
Ash knew that stone looks familiar. It was a Thunderstone. "Pikachuuuuu!" Ash shouted as he ran towards him. But then he tripped on a glass bottle that was on the ground.
"Ash!" Dawn shouted. She ran up to Ash. "Are you okay?"
"I think so." They looked over to where Ash's pikachu was and saw a riachu on the ground knocked out.
Ash frowned. "Pikachu…"
"Pika?" a pikachu said.
Ash looked over to the pikachu, with a familiar feeling. "Pikachu?"
Pikachu ran up to Ash, jumped in his arms, and nuzzled him.
Ash hugged Pikachu. "Pikachu! You're okay!"
Dawn looked at the riachu. "Is this pokemon…" She took out her pokeball that is for her pikachu and see if she can recall this pokemon. And sure enough, the raichu went inside the ball. Dawn sent him back out in her arms. "You okay, Riachu?"
Riachu jumped down onto his tail and flexed his muscles. "Ri ri!"
Dawn laughed. "Well, what a relief."
Raichu looked around with a confused look. All it remembered was coming in and surprising Pikachu when he was busy looking at something, then what felt like a rock impaled his head.
"Hey, don't go chucking things around like that!" Ash shouted.
"Shut up! You aren't my mom! Like I'm sorry about hurting your pokemon, but I'll throw around what I want to throw!" the guy then stormed off.
The other guy looked down with a sad look.
Dawn walked over to him. "I… I'm sorry, about your stone. I'll try and get you another one…"
"No… It's not your fault, so you shouldn't worry about it," the kid said.
"But…"
"Besides, that stone isn't something that could be replaced. But it's fine…"
"…It is?"
"Yeah. I figured that I really don't need some stone to know someone is close to me."
"Yeah, that's true."
"Well, I need to get going. Sorry about my brother. He's always a jerk."
"It's okay! It isn't your fault!"
The boy smiled.

Afterwards, they decided to go to the Gran Resort Hotel.
"Alolan riachus sure look different from other riachu… But the pikachus look pretty much the same from the other pikachus I've seen," Dawn said.
"Yeah, I thought that, too! It's very interesting to see that the differences with the Aloan pokemon," Ash said.
Dawn's rotomdex came out. "While Aloan pikachus are the same type as the pikachus from where you two are from, Aloan raichus are actually duel Phychic and Electric type, unlike the other riachus!"
"How cool!" Ash shouted.
Pikachu narrowed his eyes and made a disapproving sound.
"Of course, you are still way cooler, Pikachu!"
Raichu hoped on Ash's other shoulder and happily smiled and waved at him.
Pikachu sighed, but waved back at him.
