Dawn stared at her malasada with a frown, while everyone else was eating their malasadas.
"…Everything okay, Dawn?" Ash asked.
"Y-yeah… I'm just really bothered by what Lusamine said and Faba…"
"I think Lusamine is awesome!" Hau shouted.
Dawn narrowed her eyes. "Of course you do," she muttered.
"What did she say that has bothered you? Is it the fashion thing? Because I think you look great no matter what you choose to wear!" Ash said.
"Yeah! No matter what she says, I can't see myself looking good in her kind of style…" Hau said.
"I-It's not that that I'm thinking of… It's her ultra beast plan she is starting. What made her think that creature needed to be forced into the Aether Foundation?"
Hau gave her a confused look. "I don't think Lusumine ever said anything about forcing them to stay…"
"What choice is she giving them? She is going to try to bring them here, when they probably are just happy in their dimension and…"
Ash placed a hand on hers, which was made into a tight fist. "She really does seem to care about its feelings and for it to be happy. I'm sure whatever she does, she's going to do it thinking of their happiness…"
Dawn looked into his eyes with a soft look.
"Besides, who knows what good it could do for us, if she can make friends of the ultra beast!"
"Yeah! We may be able to go to their dimension and experience new things we can do there!" Hau shouted.
Dawn looked away with a frown. "…Bad things could happen too, though. They could get angry at her for forcing them to come here and attack our dimension…"
Ash beamed at her. "…If that happens, I'm sure we'd be able to handle it together! After all, it's not new for us to face a world threating crisis, and… I feel like I can face anything when I'm with you."
Dawn looked over at Ash, and couldn't help but feel at ease with his smile and his words. She wrapped her fingers around his, and leaned against him. "I guess you're right. Lusamine isn't bad at all."
"Yeah! She's awesome! Anyways, you two have some strange normality's in the places you live, if what how you two act is only what friends do!" Hau stated.
"…We are dating," Dawn said.
Hau made a shocked look. "Man, the last I knew, you two told me you were just friends…"
"Yeah, well not too long ago we hooked up, so…" Ash explained.
"I see… Congrats."
That night, Dawn came out on the deck to train her pokemon, when looking out a sea, she got lost in thought. Her pokemon came to her as she stared off over the rail.
"I used to think I didn't deserve Ash but… I've been seeing just how much I mean to him, as he means to me," Dawn said.
Buneary sighed, wondering if Pikachu ever was once happy and thankful with her actions for her.
Ash then appeared. "Dawn, what are you doing up?"
"I always train for my next contests before heading to bed… but this scenery here is just so lovely."
"I see. That's why you sleep in much later than I do!"
Dawn glared at him with an annoyed look.
Ash walked besides her and leaned over the rail. "But your right! It's so beautiful out here. I defiantly don't see this often!" He looked out with the scene of the many stars and the reflection of them and the moon in the water.
Dawn sighed, as she wrapped her arms around his and leaned against him. It was pretty cold out, but he kept her warm.
"So… did you have any plans after your vacation on what you're going to next?" Ash asked.
Dawn frowned and narrowed her eyes. "I have to get back to pokemodeling… and contest, there's going to be another run going on in Sinnoh, but…"
"I'll be there… to cheer you on all the way!"
Dawn gasped and looked at him with a blush. "B-but what if… what about your dream?"
"I can retry for the Sinnoh League… or I can sit back for once and just root for you. Like what you are doing now!"
"Y-you don't have to…"
"Well, I'd love to. As long as I'm with you!"
Dawn looked up into her eyes, and Ash stared into hers. Waves crashed up against the boat, and made Dawn slam herself into Ash. Dawn had her eyes shut, but opened them, and noticed Ash caught her in a position that had her face closed to his, and blushed.
"You okay?" Ash asked.
"Y-yeah," Dawn replied.
There were a few moments of silence, until both of them moved in for kiss. At first, they stopped realizing what they done. But then, Dawn pulled him in again, and Ash held her head and bottom and they had a long, passionate kiss.
The next morning, they arrived to the island.
"Land ahoy!" Hau shouted.
"Little late to be shouting that…" Dawn said.
"Lighten up Dawn!" Then then he turned to Ash. "In any case, we haven't had a battle yet, Ash! So, let's have one now!"
Ash smiled. "Yeah! I've been wanting to battle you too!"
Hau laughed. "Glad to hear I wasn't the only one! Let's get started then! Three on three sound good?"
"Fine with me!"
Hau sends out Raichu.
"Woah, you got an aloan riachu too?" Ash said.
Hau give him a confused look. "Why would you have a pikachu and a riachu with you?"
"… I'm the one with the riachu," Dawn said.
On que, her raichu popped out of his ball and waved.
"Oh, I see…" Hau said.
"Why don't you start off then, buddy?" Ash told his Pikachu.
Pikachu smirked and nodded. Then he hopped on to the battlefield. Pikachu used Quick Attack, but Riachu quickly bounced over him, and used Pshycic on Pikachu. Pikachu got up quickly got up, and dodged Riachu's Thunderbolt and used Iron Tail.
Dawn's riachu cheered on for Pikachu.
Buneary popped out, and saw Pikachu getting thrashed by Psychic. She shouted out a cheer for Pikachu as loud as she could, which made Hau's riachu jump and lose concentration and fall to the ground when he was air surfing on his tail. This gave Pikachu the chance to come in and use Quick Attack, and he sent Riachu flying. After a few more rounds of attacks, Riachu fainted.
"I see. Your strategy is to have your girlfriend distract your opponent when they have the upper hand. Smart," Hau said.
"T-that's not my strategy at all!" Ash shouted.
Dawn sighed. "You two are pretty troublesome sometimes, you know?" She returned her riachu and Buneary.
"It doesn't matter. I'll still am determined to win, regardless," Hau said. He returned his raichu and sent out Vaporeon. As Pikachu was exhausted from his fight with Riachu, but quickily took out Vaporeon. Ash returned Pikachu to rest and sent out Dartix out next. Last pokemon Hau sent out was Decidueye. Decidueye completely overpowered Dartix and knocked it out. Salandlit came out and evolved into salazzle after some battling. But even with the type advantage couldn't stand up to Ducleye.
Ash returned his Darttrix and sent out Pikachu. Even when Pikachu was worn out it still won.
"Wow Ash! That sure was a great battle!" Hau shouted.
Ash smiled. "Yeah. Let's battle again sometime!"
"Yeah! We defiantly should! That was a really fun battle!"
Ash and Dawn sat in the pokecenter eating breakfast with their pokemon. Buneary wasn't eating, because she felt bad about ruining the fight in favor for Pikachu. Pikachu looked over to Buneary with a worried look and asked her what's wrong. Buneary told Pikachu that she's sorry for distracting Riachu, so he'd have an easy time winning and that she's confident that Pikachu could've won without her help. Pikachu smiled at her and told her not to worry about it. He understands that distracting Raichu wasn't her intention, and it was all his fault anyways, as he took the opportunity to attack when he was distracted. So in the end, he was grateful that she gave him the opportunity to get the upper hand on Raichu. Buneary beamed, and hugged Pikachu when she heard that. She was happy to hear that something so little has made Pikachu happy. Pikachu stood there with a smile. Meanwhile, Dawn's riachu took Buneary's bowl with pokefood with it and put the food in his bowl and placed her bowl back to its place.
"So, we are suppost to meet the professor in a garden?" Ash asked.
"Yeah. It's a strange place that he wants to meet up, but he probably has his reasons," Dawn said.
"Well, we should head to bed so we can head there tomorrow!"
"Yeah, sounds good!"
So they headed to bed, Ash eager to head on to the next challenge and still excited with what he saw and what's in store for him.
