Dawn, Ash, and Lillie rushed to the pokemon center and told Nurse Joy about Pikachu. She checked him out and came to talk to the group afterwards.
"Pikachu is extremely short on electricity! Pikachus never exhaust themselves of this much electricity unless they need to go to extreme measures protect themselves!" Nurse joy explained.
Ash looked down with a sad look.
"You really need to take more cation! The traumatic event you put on him caused him such stress to damage himself and cause some amnesia!"
Ash clenched his fist. He never intended to put Pikachu under such stress.
"Pikachu should be charged up in a day. After that, he should be good as new… Well, he'll be able to use his electricity. We can only hope he'll get his memories back. For now, He'll be okay! But please, take better care of your pokemon!"
"We will…Thank you so much!" Dawn said, seeing Ash so upset.
Nurse Joy smiled. "I need to tend to the pokemon here, though if you need anything else, just let me know!"
"Well do!"
Nurse Joy then left to tend to the other pokemon left here.
Dawn put a hand on Ash's shoulder. "Come on, there's no need to worry! Pikachu will be just fine!"
"Pikachu… he was put under extreme stress. If only I could have helped him. Instead, I let him get hurt and there was nothing I could do about it," Ash said.
Buneary made a sad sound, also feeling upset of being unable to help Pikachu.
Ash gently knelt down and petted her. "Don't be so hard on yourself. It's thanks to you that the pokemon they took was able to return to their trainers. Besides…" Ash looked away with a sad look. "If only I had been more careful, we all wouldn't have gotten so hurt."
Dawn narrowed her eyes and frowned, unsure how to cheer him up.
Buneary looked at Lillie, who was watching Nebby through the glass as Nurse Joy was checking on him. Buneary then remembered something and shouted and pointed at Lillie, which made Ash and Dawn give her confused looks.
Then it hit Dawn, and she slowly turned to Ash and smiled. "Yeah. I mean, Lillie is extremely worried about her mom and Nebby. Yet she's refusing to run away anymore and staying strong to help them. I'm sure that's what Pikachu needs too right now."
Ash slowly got up and smiled a bit. "Yeah. Pikachu… is going to be fine. I need to get stronger so that won't happen again." Ash grabbed his pokemon and went to go and train outside.
Ash sent out all his pokemon and explained to them what happened to Pikachu and his memory loss and how they need to train so that doesn't happen to him or anyone else again.
Crabrawler looked sad. It's true Pikachu stole his berries in the beginning, but he's been so nice afterwards. Pikachu once got him a berry nearby when he noticed he was still hungry after dinner, helped him up when he tripped, and has always looked out for him. He's been wondering why he's kept his hatred against Pikachu now, since he's realizing there isn't a point now.
Ash looked and noticed Buneary hopped in with his pokemon. He looked around, but only Buneary was around. "Buneary, did you and Dawn get separated?"
Buneary shook her head and put her paws up and bounced around as she punched the air.
"Oh! You want to train too!"
Buneary nodded.
"Did Dawn let you do that?"
She nodded again.
Ash smiled. "Alright! Then let's get things started!"
Crabrawler left and went back inside the pokecenter.
Crabrawler tried to go to Pikachu's room but couldn't reach the door handle.
Blissey saw that Crabrawler was struggling and came over and opened the door right before Crabrawler was about to smash the door with a crabhammer.
Crabrawler quickly stopped his attack, awkwardly thanked Blissey, and dashed into the room. There, he saw Pikachu resting as tubes connected to his cheeks where charging electricity in him. Crawbrawler decided to let him rest but tripped over his own legs and slammed loudly into a wall waking Pikachu up. Crawbrawler noticed this, and quickly apologized. It then told Pikachu that he came in to thank it and thanked him and started to leave.
Pikachu asked what he meant.
Crawbrawler turned around with tears in his eyes, asking if he lost the memory of him getting more food for him, or helping him up when he fell, or cheering for him when he's battling.
Pikachu smiled at him and told him he remembers, and that there's no need to thank him as that's what teammates do.
Crabrawler nodded and told him to get well soon. Then he left.
Dawn noticed Lillie had Nebby back into her arms and walked over to talk with her. "So did Nurse Joy find anything out about Nebby?"
Lillie shook her head. "I really didn't expect them too, when the Aether Foundation didn't. They have great medical team to really help pokemon. But both did find that Nebby is indeed alive, so that's enough for me."
Dawn smiled. "Yeah, same."
"So is Pikachu going to be okay?"
"He'll be just fine… Though he'll need a full day to recharge his electricity."
"That's what I thought… I read up on all problems for pokemon so I could help them because I hated to see pokemon suffer. Anyways, it's great that Pikachu is going to be okay too!"
"Yeah! Now we just have to find a way to get your mom back!"
Lillie pumped her fist. "Right! And I got some information on where we should go next! After Nebby was checked, I wondered around the village for a while and ran into the chief of the village here. After I asked him about the Kahuna here, he told me to go find Hapu and talk to her. He said it's the only house on the island, and that we can easily find her with her mudsdale." All around the area here docks where boats and the pokecenter of course.
"Hapu… That name sounds familiar somehow. Anyways, it's great that we have a lead!"
She nodded. "Mother… Just hang in there a little longer," Lillie thought.
Ash trained until dinner.
Lillie helped Dawn make some stew and everyone ate and went to bed.
The next morning, Dawn noticed Buneary was gone, and so she looked around, and saw Buneary by Pikachu's room just sitting there waiting. Dawn sat down by her and petted her. "You can't wait to see him again, huh?"
Buneary nodded.
Dawn stood up and picked up Buneary. "Well then, let's go and see if he's awake!"
Buneary smiled a bit and nodded again.
They opened the room to Pikachu jumping up expecting Ash, but happy to see someone to come in all the same. He was awake for quite some time after sleeping so early yesterday. So, he was happy someone came in.
Dawn put Buneary on Pikachu's bed, but Buneary got all embarrassed seeing Pikachu so happy and lifted her fur to hid her face.
"I'm sure she means she's happy to see you in such a good mood. Must have been wanting to see her too?" Dawn said with a wink.
Pikachu fell back and started stuttering with a small blush.
"Relax Pikachu. I'm only teasing. It is good to see you in such good spirts though. It must have been not fun not being able to be with everyone else and have to be in here at all times."
Pikachu nodded. Ash visits him quite frequently, but it does seem odd not being by his side when he usually is even when sleeping.
Buneary then remembered something. She pulled out a peach she got for Pikachu. She saw it on the counter in the kitchen and asked Blissey if it's aright if she could have it, and she said it's fine.
Pikachu's eyes widen seeing the peach. He's been fed mostly oran and sitrus berries to help him recover, so anything different is welcomed, especially since he's pretty hungry at the moment.
Blissey came in and asked if Pikachu would like to eat that now, and once Pikachu nodded.
She turned off the machine momentarily so the peach wouldn't get fried once Pikachu touched it.
Pikachu thanked Buneary and started enjoying the peach.
Buneary played with her ears a bit, telling him it was no problem.
Dawn petted Buneary. "That was real nice of you to do, Buneary." Then she got to thinking that she should get breakfast ready for when Ash and Lillie wake up. So she left and let Pikachu and Buneary have a little alone time while she got everything ready.
Around noon, Pikachu was fully recharged and was returned back to Ash.
"Thank you so much Nurse Joy!" Ash said.
"Glad to have helped! Please take care!"
"Of course!"
They got their stuff together to get ready to head out to their next destination. They are not sure how to rescue Lusamine, but they have a clue to go on.
