Gil looked over to the battle for a while. CJ and most of the pirates who had stayed behind to capture Trip had all left and joined the other pirates on the battlefield. When Lonnie had jumped from the tree to secure the cage she sprained her ankle. But despite her injury Lonnie didn't hesitate to join, pledging she would be the one to bring Shan Yu to the ground.

Even though Gil didn't like to fight, he was still aching to go back in as well. He saw a huge area of moving human beings and no matter how hard he tried he wasn't able to recognize any of his friends in this mess. He even couldn't see his dad anymore, who had been towering over his warriors on his horse. Uma had told him to stay with her and help them watch over Trip. If his brother, by some kind of miracle, succeeded to escape, then Gil would be the only one capable to stop him. Besides, so Uma had told him, he needed some rest. His body was still shaking from duelling Trip and Gil probably had to save his strength to face his other brother as well. Gil frowned. That wasn't something he was looking forward to.

Gil jumped up when a little shadow suddenly stood behind him. Gil smiled when he saw it was just the crazy, little pirate girl.

"Sorry." Bonny apologized while offering him a flask with water. She still gleamed joyfully, secretly proud she had been able to startle him. Gil liked her, though. She had a strange sense of humour, but she was never mean and actually helpful and kind. She was always running around and when on board of the ship she could never stop herself from climbing in the masts. That's why Uma always put her on watch duty in the crow's nest and this time she had been the perfect candidate to capture Trip. Even though most of the pirates were not really meant to be called sane, just a few were crazy enough to jump out of a tree on an iron cage that held one of the strongest persons from the Isle. But something that dangerous was actually what Bonny enjoyed.

"Thank you," Gil said back to her and gratefully accepted the water flask.

"You were really cool." Gil knew Bonny's compliment towards him was genuine, since everything she said was. She was actually quite like Gil in that regard. They both weren't able to tell a lie, even when they wanted to. "Trip is also finally quiet. He has been making a lot of noise, but he is not getting out. Uma told me to secure the nails in the ground some more. He tried to grab me, but I was too fast for him."

A worried frown appeared on Gil's face, just after he took a few huge gulps from the flask. He hadn't even realized how thirsty he had been. "I hope you were careful. He can really hurt you."

"Yea yea, I know," Bonny waved away his warning. "Uma told me as much. But you guys know me." Gil gave her a soft smile. She didn't know any fear and she was indeed strong enough to take care of herself, but her small size and her young face still gave a lot of the other pirates the strong urge to protect her.

"Thank you for the water." Gil reached the flask back towards her, but Bonny shook her head.

"Keep it, you need it more than I do. I'm going back in the trees. Keeping watch again. You stay safe as well, okay."

Gil nodded gratefully, clenching the flask in his hand. As he watched the little pirate girl running away, Gil made his way over to the iron cage. It was indeed quiet in there, but Gil could see the giant sitting with his back against the bars. Trip didn't look happy. He didn't look happy at all. More like he could continue his attempts to break out of his prison any second. But Uma had anticipated on his. A LeGume's spirit was hard to break, didn't matter what you did to it. Trip nor Junior would go down without a fight and even when captured they would rather break every bone in their body than admit defeat.

"Here," Gil said, reaching the flask towards his older brother. "You must be thirsty. I had no idea how thirsty I was until I had a few sips."

Trip didn't answer and also didn't take the flask from Gil. He didn't even look up, but stared blankly ahead of himself, anger written all over his face.

"You need to drink something," Gil tried again. This time Trip shot him a glance, almost making Gil jump backwards. He knew however that doing so would show weakness and that was never allowed in his family.

"You know we are both in big trouble, don't you?" Trip said, still ignoring the flask Gil held out towards him. "If dad founds out about this, he's going to be really mad at us both."

"That won't matter if we win."

"Dad never loses! You know that!" Two fists slammed hard against the iron bars, making the cage shake for a little bit.

It made Uma and a few other pirate guards jump up, but Gil didn't even take a step backwards. He looked at his brother, who was angrily staring back at him. "I believe we can win."

Trip slammed against the iron bars once more. "Then you're a traitor and a fool!"

Gil simply nodded, but still didn't back down. Somehow he wasn't so afraid anymore. Maybe it was because his brother was inside a cage, even though Trip could easily grab him if he would stick his arm between two bars. So maybe there was another reason why Gil didn't feel so afraid anymore.

"You're hurting yourself," Gil said after a while. He reached the flask again towards his brother, but Trip still didn't take it. Gil took a deep breath, wondering once more why it always had to be this way. He wanted to put the flask on the ground, leaving it there for Trip to take it when he was feeling less proud. But then a hand moved towards him. Not violently, but actually very slowly. Gil smiled up towards his brother when he handed him the flask.

Trip immediately started drinking, emptying it within seconds and letting half of it fall on his face. He was also tired and thirsty. He wouldn't show it, definitely not when his little brother was watching him, but he was worn out. Breathing heavily Trip silently begged the flask to give him some more water, but it was already empty.

"I can get you some more," Gil said, still standing at the other side of the bars. Trip nodded, giving him back the flask. Gil smiled up at him again, something he hadn't done so often.

Trip wasn't sure if Gil was really going to give him more water. He knew that if their places were reversed he would be standing there laughing at Gil. But knowing his little brother, Gil really meant it when he said he would help. Trip breathed out, letting go of the iron bars that kept him imprisoned. For the first time he let his attack drop. He wasn't defeated. He might have been tired and locked up, but he was very far from defeated. He just had to be reassured that he had been fighting for the right purpose.

"One more thing." The words had left Trip's mouth before he realized it. Gil looked at him again, the empty flask tight in his hand, ready for some more insults. "Is it true? Is King Ben really going to give us a second chance? Is he really letting us live free in Auradon?"

It was stupid to even ask Trip knew. Gil was different than the rest of the LeGume family. He had always been. Gil never lied, never manipulated anyone. Gil had always been soft, weak and useless. Kind as others would describe it. So when Gil smiled up at him once more, Trip already knew the answer. And for the first time Trip smiled back at him. Not the confident smirk or the violent grin he usually showed to the world, the ones Gil was so used to seeing. But a genuinely kind smile, that suddenly had a lot of resemblance with Gil's.

...

For once in his lifetime Jay was glad he was surrounded by pirates, otherwise he didn't know how he would've been able to make it. Junior's attacks were fierce and Jay had to jump behind a shield of one of his allies multiple times. Fortunately all of the pirates knew about the plan. They attacked the boy, but they all knew he had to stay alive and stay focused on Jay. Jay ducked behind a shield again, this time getting saved by Gonzo. Jay nodded at him, grateful for the help he received from the pirates who were attacking Junior from all sides. He had no idea how Gil had been able to manage this on his own, even though Gil had been fighting against his brothers his entire life.

Jay suddenly spotted Harry in the sea of people and decided to make a run for it. Jonas saw what he was planning and commanded the young recruits to surround the huge warrior. He would give them time before Jay would come back to attack the huge boy again.

"Any news?" Jay asked when he reached Harry.

"I see you already found the second brother. Well done, Jay. I'm impressed." Harry watched for a moment how Junior tried to break through the wall of pirates that blocked the huge boy from coming at them.

"You know me, don't want to waste time. So? How's it over there?"

Harry smirked at him and for a moment Jay thought Harry was going to make another stupid comment. Even Harry could see the seriousness of the situation and he came directly to the point. "CJ just talked to me. They caught Trip successfully. Exactly according to plan if I have to believe her. She went back to make sure Junior's trap is also completely set up. It won't take long."

Jay nodded, bracing himself to continue the fight, since he saw how the young pirate recruits had trouble keeping Junior put. He had no time for talking.

"Oh Jay, you're doing this all wrong." Harry seemed to grin at the situation before him.

Jay tried to stay focussed on the threat that was coming towards him, but it was hard to ignore Harry who stood beside him like nothing important was happening. "You have a better idea?"

The annoying grin on Harry's face gave him the answer. He shoved his sword back into his belt and raised his hands to show Junior he had no intention of fighting. Junior stopped his charge in confusion, but was quick to raise his sword once more.

"There is no use in fighting, you know," Harry said, speaking loudly to make sure Junior could hear him over the sound of clashing weapons and screaming humans. "We already caught Trip. We're going to win."

Junior's eyes grew wide with anger and disbelief. "Not possible! There is no way you caught my brother."

"We have. We defeated him. Very easy, actually."

Jay saw how Junior's face started to turn red and his eyes grew even wider if this was even possible. With a loud growl he stormed towards them.

Harry quickly turned around and grabbed Jay along with him. "Now we run!" He quickly instructed with a satisfied smile on his face.

...

Carlos started coughing, while the pink smoke slowly cleared out. His vision was blurry and he felt a weird tingling feeling throughout his entire body. Especially his hands and feet felt different than usual. He could hear a shrill laugh that which he knew came from Yzma. Then a gigantic shadow was towering over him, which he quickly recognized as Dude.

"What have they done to you?" The dog's eyes never seemed to be so big and sad before. When the smoke almost completely disappeared, Carlos could also see the two rats and the sparrow again, who were suddenly at the same height as he was. Carlos looked down at the claws where his hands used to be and the realisation sank in that he was transformed into a rat. He didn't have much time to think about it, since he could see how Zevon was ready to throw another vial.

Dude was the first to react and loud growling spurted towards the people who had attacked his owner and his best friend. Carlos tried to pull him back, but there wasn't much he could do since he was too small to even reach the dog. Dude jumped towards Zevon and bit him in his ankle, making the boy drop the other vial. Dude was quick enough to sweep the vial with the pink substance away from himself with his tail. The bottle flew towards the two henchmen, still standing behind Yzma. Within seconds the two henchmen disappeared in pink smoke, while Yzma and Yzla managed to get away from it.

"You disturbing-" Yzma didn't get very far, since a rat suddenly bit her in her ankle, making her scream out loud.

Carlos tried to run towards Dude to help him, but fell clumsily towards the ground, unable to let his little paws move like he wanted them to. Instead the big black rat ran passed him and jumped on the boy to aid the dog. Zevon tried to grab another potion, but was suddenly attacked by both a dog and a rat. Carlos felt how he got picked up. Knowing it was Evie he wasn't startled and Evie carefully held him in her hands.

She didn't have time to check on him though, since Yzma stood in front of her, another vial in her hand. She kicked the rat that had attacked her and Evie could see how the former guard flew through the air against the stone prison wall. Evie was sure she would change into some kind of animal as well, until Yzla grabbed her mother's arm and stopped her from throwing the vial towards Evie.

"Run!" Yzla yelled towards Evie, trying hard to hold a grip on her mother. "Lock the door! Don't let my mom out of the prison!" Yzma broke loose from her daughter's grip and slapped her in the face. The girl immediately jumped towards her mother again and grabbed her arm once more. Evie ran towards Yzma as well, determined to help the girl to defeat her mom.

"No, go! That isn't an extract of rats!" Yzla still tried to warn them all, but she was too late. Yzma already brought the vial towards her mouth and drank the potion. Yzla quickly let go of her and ran towards Evie, but not before she could grab the bag with the remaining potions in it.

Pink sparkles appeared all around Yzma, while she slowly transformed into a huge mountain lion. The space was too small for the transformation and the walls already began to shake while the purple feline declawed her paws.

Yzla grabbed Evie from the floor and pushed her inside one of the cells, which to her big relief seemed to be empty. Immediately a hard bang landed on the other side of the door, followed by a loud growl and the sound of sharp nails against hard metal.

"Go back, Dude is still there!" Carlos screamed.

He tried to jump out of Evie's hands, but she held a tight grip on him. "It's too dangerous, Carlos!"

The scratching on the door continued, until a loud noise slammed off the little cover that blocked the view from the little window in the door. Yzla dared to look through the window, only to see a giant black eye staring right back at her. Evie grabbed another vial in the bag and held it in front of Yzla.

"What does this one?" Evie asked her.

"I don't know. They're not properly labelled," the other girl cried out. Evie decided to take her chance and threw the vial in between the bars towards the insanely huge cat. Pink smoke filled the prison once again, but fortunately the giant creature disappeared and changed into a little sparrow.

Yzla opened the prison door and looked down at her mother, who was still trying to claw her daughter with her little bird claws. She fluttered her wings, but was unable to get herself off the ground.

Carlos took his change and managed to jump out of Evie's hands to run towards Zevon. He didn't see Dude anywhere, but could see how Zevon was still in a heated fight with two big rats. In the air one sparrow was in a desperate fight with two bigger sparrows. Carlos figured quickly it had to be the two henchmen who had also been transformed into little birds.

Evie was quickly at his side again, but only to grab Yzma from the ground and put her into her purse. The little bird fought hard to find her way out of it, but Evie held a tight grip on it.

"Stop it, Zevon!" Yzla said, holding another potion in her hand. "If you don't surrender, I'll turn you into a rat as well and I will step on you!" She hoped her big brother would not see through her bluff, since she had still no idea what kind of potion she held in her hand. As far as she knew, she could be changing her brother into an unspeakable huge bear. Which would be dangerous for all of them, since the walls were cracking warningly all around them.

Zevon however gave in, at the moment surrounded by three evil-looking rats and already bleeding heavily from both his legs. "Mom should've picked cockroaches!" he yelled towards the vicious creatures who were still growling at him.

Evie looked up at Yzla, who was still keeping her brother undershot. "Thank you," she said with a kind smile.

Yzla kept her gaze on her brother, but a smile also started to form on her face. "Let's just get out of here, shall we."

...

Jay was still parkouring over the battlefield, dodging the warriors and soldiers in his way and using his environment to move as fast as possible. He actually had to slow down, to make sure Junior wouldn't lose him in the sea of people. Harry however could easily catch up with him. He even took the lead a couple of times, making it almost like a race between the two of them. Even though Jay realized he was secretly having fun, it also wasn't difficult to remember the purpose of the chase. The sounds of battle and the screams around him proved they were still on the battleground.

"Follow me, Jay!" Jay could barely hear Harry's voice over all the noise surrounding them, even though Harry was close at his side for the moment. Jay slowed down for a moment and let Harry take the lead. The pirate knew exactly where his sister would be hiding. Jay didn't know the exact spot of the place they had to be and for this to work they had to be precise. Jay could trust Harry on this, though. Besides, he still promised he would listen to every order the pirate commander would give him.

They slowly left the battlefield behind them, passing the last soldiers who were standing in their way. Jay quickly turned around, pleased to see Junior was indeed still following them. His face was still red with anger, but also with a determination to capture the two who angered him so much. Jay then sprinted after Harry, pushing him forward.

"Faster!" Jay simply yelled, so he wouldn't waste any air in his lungs. Harry didn't look backwards, he trusted in Jay's words blindly. He even cursed himself for not realizing sooner. The LeGume brothers were incredibly fast. Back on the battlefield they had to dodge a lot of warriors and soldiers. The LeGume twins didn't lack much, but they were not as agile. Definitely no match for Jay or Harry. But now that those human obstacles were gone, he was quickly catching up on them.

They were almost there, Harry could almost hear his sister rooting him on. He made a simple movement with his head, but Jay knew exactly what he meant. They speeded up, making an end sprint over a little hill. Jay could hear Junior's loud footsteps behind them coming closer. The older boy growled through his teeth. The huge sword in his hand made an alarming swoosh sound through the air with every step. Jay ignored the pain in his legs and continued running up the hill. This was what he had been training for. Every tourney match suddenly seemed highly insignificant compared to this moment.

"Now!"

Jay had been waiting for the sign. He could see the pile of leaves that covered the trap. He decided to jump over it and to his surprise he saw Harry do the same. Just as before Junior wasn't as agile as the other two smaller boys. He didn't even try to jump, not even thinking that the pile of leaves could lead to any trap. Suddenly the ground underneath his feet fell out and he stumbled into a dark hole. He landed in an iron cage buried a few meters under the ground. Just when he fell down a group of pirates jumped out of the bushes and swiftly lifted another iron fence to throw it on top of the cage, completely locking up the surprised boy that still didn't quite comprehend what had happened to him.

Jay looked down and saw Junior growling in the cage, slowly standing up. The fall hurt him, but nothing too bad it seemed.

"Great plan," Jay said to Harry, for once not being sarcastic.

Harry smiled back at him, still trying to catch his breath. They were leaning on each other, actually trying hard to not fall into the hole themselves. But they both trusted the other would never let them fall, their arms on each other's shoulders.

"Well, let me know the LeGume brothers," Harry said still out of breath. "Just telling him we captured his brother would make him so blindfolded with anger he would probably follow us about everywhere."

Jay laughed at him. He had to admit, this hysterical pirate could be a mastermind sometimes. Even Junior's grunting from beneath them couldn't ruin the moment the two of them were sharing. It honestly made it better.

Suddenly a shadow was towering over them. Both Jay and Harry looked behind them. They saw the great King Adam, sitting on his white horse and looking down at the kid in the cage in the ground. Junior growled even louder and jumped up to slam his fists against the iron bars.

King Beast just looked back at him in disgust, turning up his nose. He felt no pity at all for the young man that was locked in the cage beneath him. "So, seems like I finally have all three of Gaston's sons right where I want them to be. I wonder what your father has to say about this."
