Noire felt something beside her, against her arm. She could hear soft crying. Blinking her eyes open, she was met with the white ceiling. This instantly told her that she wasn't in her room. A soft groan left her lips as she shifted her head to avoid the light from the ceiling. On her left side, she made eye contact with concerned blue eyes. Histoire was floating just above Vert who was crying by her side. Noire wondered why she was crying. The black CPU only ever saw the goddess cry when her favorite anime character died on television.
Noire moved her arm and winced from the soreness. She gently placed her hand on Vert's head and the green goddess flinched. Vert looked up to show her puffy red eyes and her tear-stained cheeks. Noire forced out a soft smile, hoping that it would cheer Vert up.
Vert sniffled as she sat up straight. Noire's hand slid down and thumped against the mattress. Vert wiped her eyes and whispered, "N-Noire?"
"Hey…" rasped the black goddess.
"Y-Y-You're awake…"
"That… I am…" Noire took in deep breaths, finding it a bit hard to breathe. It felt like her body forgot how to take in air.
Histoire hovered over Noire's head, so the bedridden goddess doesn't strain her neck. "How are you feeling, Noire?"
Noire answered, "Stiff… A little bit hard to breathe. Tired as well…"
Histoire smiled. "I shall go inform the doctor that you have awoken."
Noire nodded and the tome floated away. The CPU then turned her red eyes to Vert who was sniffling. "Sorry for worrying you…"
"You should be," Vert pouted. "You died, Noire… I thought you were dead! It's a miracle that you even came back to life!"
Noire frowned, "I… died?" Suddenly, everything came back to her. "This is the only warning I'm giving you, don't go into Mode Uranus."
"Yes, Noire, you died. Luckily, the doctors were able to jump start your heart again. They rushed out quickly to grab other materials to see what they can do next."
Noire wasn't listening to what Vert said, instead she was remembering her time with Uranus. She moved her right hand and touched her chest. So that wasn't a dream… It was all real…
"Noire? Noire, are you listening?"
"Sorry, Vert…" Noire sighed and closed her eyes. "I'm tired…"
Vert huffed, "Of course you are. After that ordeal, your body must still be in shock or something."
"It is hard to breathe…" Noire muttered.
"Honestly. Making both Neptune and I worry. You are one troublesome big sister," Vert stated as she crossed her arms.
"Big sister?" Noire's eyes widened as her younger sister came to mind. "Uni… Is she okay? I need to tell her I'm alright." The black goddess tried to get up, but Vert stopped her.
"Uni doesn't know. I haven't informed her of your condition. She still thinks you have a fever or something."
Noire sighed and relaxed back into the pillows. "Uni doesn't need to go through all that. I don't want to stress her with this…"
"Well, I feel stressed about this," Vert angrily claimed. "With Rei still running around, Neptune in the other dimension and with you and Blanc stuck in bed, I'm growing white hairs just worrying over you guys!"
Noire couldn't help but chuckle, only to start coughing and wheezing. "Ugh, my body is being rough with me."
"You got shocked multiple times with high voltage that could kill a human easily," said Vert. "Try to take it easy."
"Yeah…" Noire was just about to close her eyes when she remembered something else. "Wait! Neptune!" She turned her head to give Vert a worried look. "What about Neptune!? I'm pretty sure I was in the middle of talking to her before I… you know…"
"Ah…" Vert glanced away from Noire's worried eyes as she began to feel guilty.
"Vert?"
The green CPU bit her lower lip. "I… kind of hung up on her…"
"So you just… shut her out?"
"You DIED, Noire. I didn't want her to see you in that state. It was for her sake," reasoned Vert. "I would've confirmed with her if the doctors couldn't bring you back."
"But I'm fine now," said Noire. "I can assure her that I'm alright now."
Vert sighed knowing this would happen. "It's not that I want to keep you from talking to her, but you should really rest first. You can call her tomorrow. Let the doctors come back to check your vitals before contacting the Ultradimension again."
"I… I can deal with that."
Vert smiled, "Good. Now, I'm gonna go check up on Blanc. Rest until Histoire comes back."
Noire nodded, "Alright…"
The green goddess stood up and left the room. She gently closed the door behind her and sighed. Rubbing her palm against her eyes, she finally felt calm. Her mind was jumbled up with many emotions, so she needed to breathe. Noire was alive and awake. Noire was alright now…
"Vert?"
The green goddess jerked and turned to see Histoire floating in the air with a doctor behind her. "Histoire, you're back."
"Yes, the doctor that's over seeing Noire's condition wasn't that far away," answered the tome.
"I see. Noire would like to contact Neptune, but please make sure she does that tomorrow," informed Vert.
Histoire smiled as she nodded, "I understand, it is quite late as well. Make sure you get some sleep."
Vert nodded. "If you need me, I'll be in Blanc's room."
"Of course." The tome floated closer to the CPU and patted her head.
"You have been doing well in keeping yourself together."
"I have to," claimed Vert. "I'm the only one that's standing right now."
"You are not the only one. You have others that are standing behind you waiting for the time you call on them. Don't think you are ever alone, because you are not. Even if you have lived for many years, you still have things to learn. And that is relying on others."
"I have relied on others. Now that they are injured in bed and separated, there's no one else I can rely on."
Histoire sadly shook her head. "Those who have been beaten down, those who have lost their way… The people that you rely on will always, and I say always stand again to be by your side."
Vert crossed her arms under her breasts and glanced away with a doubtful expression. "Blanc has yet to awaken, Noire has shares poisoning and Neptune has yet to come back, or if she comes back…"
"Have trust in them. They won't let you take the burden alone." Histoire beamed, hoping to get a smile on Vert's face.
The green goddess indeed smiled. "You're right. Knowing Noire, she would fight even in her sickened state."
"Neptune will soon have enough shares to come back, so you need not worry about taking Rei on alone. We will get through this, together."
"Thank you, Histoire. Please go check on Noire and make sure she gets her procedure done. And don't let her call Neptune until tomorrow with some proper rest."
Histoire nodded as Vert stepped to the side. The tome led the doctor through the door and closed it. The green CPU sighed and turned to the door next to Noire's room. She quietly opened the door and found Uni, Rom and Ram inside sitting by Blanc's bed.
Uni was the first to notice Vert's presence. "Vert!"
Vert walked into the room and placed a finger on her lips to motion quietness.
Uni lowered her voice and asked, "Did something happen to Noire? There were a lot of ruckus coming from her room."
"Yeah, I heard so many running footsteps outside," Ram added.
"D-D-Did Miss Noire die?" Rom frighteningly asked.
Vert smiled and answered, "No, no, no, dear. Nothing major like that. Noire just fainted so we got worried and called the doctors to come and check on her. She's currently alright now. In fact, her fever has gone down."
Uni was a bit skeptical, but took Vert's words. "Oh… Well, I'm glad to hear she's doing alright now."
"I wish Blanc was doing alright…" Ram mumbled.
"Blanc is doing alright," Vert assured. "She's just hibernating."
"I-If it helps her heal, sis can hibernate as much as she wants," Rom said.
The green goddess giggled, "Well said, Rom."
"I'm gonna go check up on my sister," said Uni as she stood up from her seat.
"Ah!" Vert stood in Uni's way and quickly said, "She's having another check up at the moment and wanted some privacy, which is why I'm here to see Blanc. So it's best if you go see her later."
"O-Oh… " Uni looked down sadly, "Alright…"
"Why don't you and the twins go back to the basilcom to get some rest. It's really late after all. You can visit Noire tomorrow morning."
Uni looked out the window to see the dark sky. She let out a small yawn as she began to feel somewhat sleepy. "Yeah, I am a bit tired."
Ram agreed. "Yeah, I need some beauty sleep."
"Maybe Blanc will be awake tomorrow?" Rom wondered as she stretched her arms.
Vert smiled, "Possibly, now go. The beds in my basilicom are calling your names."
The three candidates nodded and wished the goddess a good night. They all quietly left the room to head to the basilicom for some needed sleep.
Taking a seat near the bed, Vert ran her fingers through her hair. Glancing at the brunette's face, she frowned as guilt ate away at her. She slouched back against the seat and closed her eyes as her mind began to turn. She had to think of something that could protect everyone. She can't fight alone, she wasn't strong enough for that. She hasn't even found the slightless clue as to how to use the other nations' Shares like Noire did. Rei could attack at any moment and the green CPU has no plans of defense. This really was burdening her.
"It's rare to see you troubled like this…"
Vert groaned, "I'm worried that I can't stop Rei and the entire Gamindustri will be destroyed."
"You don't have to carry all that alone. Noire, Neptune and I are here to help. You just have to ask."
Vert frowned, "It's not that simple."
"If you keep frowning your eyebrows, you're going to have wrinkles on your face."
Vert snapped her eyes open in anger and shouted, "Can't you see I'm in a crisis, Blanc!?"
The white CPU smiled, "Well, I've definitely seen better."
Vert blinked and rubbed her eyes. "Blanc…?
"Hey…"
"Y-You're awake…"
Blanc smirked, "Those brats were kind of noisy."
Vert felt like crying, but no tears came. She still felt shocked, like this was some kind of dream. Maybe she's dreaming after all.
Blanc raised an eyebrow in question. "Why are you looking at me as if you saw a ghost?"
Vert smiled as she nodded to herself. "Yes. I'm dreaming. All this stress must have gotten to me."
Blanc felt a vein pop in her head. She carefully shifted and sat up. Vert didn't even care to help as she watched Blanc strain herself. The brunette groaned in pain and then glared at the green CPU for not helping. She moved to the edge of the bed and reached over, pitching Vert on the cheeks.
The blonde yelped in pain as she quickly slapped Blanc's hand away and rubbed her left cheek. "That hurt!"
"Exactly," Blanc deadpanned. "I'm real."
Vert's eyes widened as she stood up. "Oh my goodness! What are you doing trying to sit up!? You might open a wound! Lay back down this instant!"
Blanc rolled her eyes as Vert tried to help her back down. "Says the one that was watching me and not helping."
"I thought I was dreaming. It's been days, Blanc. You were in a coma. I was so worried. Rom and Ram were worried too."
Blanc frowned, "Sorry…"
"Oh! I need to call the doctor, don't move!" Vert rapidly ran out the door, screaming for a nurse or a doctor.
Blanc only sighed as she could hear Vert's voice down the hall. "Stupid cow didn't even close the door…"
Looking out the window, Blanc felt a feeling she hasn't felt in awhile. Lifting her right hand, she could see herself quivering. She had been sleeping for days, but it felt like it was just yesterday. Blanc remembered, her body remembered.
"DIE!"
The image of Rei's sickening smirk. The feeling of being shocked and burned alive. The feeling of fear that throbbed in her chest. Yes, she remembered it as clear as day.
Blanc bit her lower lip as she clenched her hand. This isn't over Rei Rights! I'm coming for my revenge!"
Author's Note
Yay! Blanc's also awake!! XD
So the next few chapters might be slow. I have my finals coming up since school is nearing its end for me. Could definitely give me more time to write. I hope this chapter came out alright, since I didn't know when else to go from here. Most of the action will be from Ultradimension's POV now since our Hyper CPUs are still kind of stuck in a hospital. I will have chapters showing Blanc's and Noire's recuperation, since LITOH is a Hyperdimenion story, I can't be writing too much about Ultradimension.
Anyway, thank you for reading and I'll see you all again in the next update! Bye!
