The doctor sighed as he looked over the x-rays that were sent to him. Noire didn't like the expressions on the doctor's face. She was sitting in a chair with Histoire in the seat next to hers. They were waiting to hear the report on Noire's condition.
"What is it doctor? Is something the matter with Noire?" Histoire asked.
"Well, there's nothing really wrong externally as all the injuries have been healed but there is something strange," he voiced.
"What?" Noire urged, wanting to know her current condition.
"It says that your muscles are completely strained and fatigued to the point that the cells have almost all broken down. You most likely won't be able to lift anything heavier than five pounds."
Noire's eyes widened in disbelief, "Excuse me?!"
"Yep, that's what it says on the report, Lady Noire. This usually happens to people of really old age, but to a goddess…" The doctor turned his eyes from the computer to Noire and hesitantly said, "Even if… y-you are a couple century years old, you don't look a day over twenty. You're a goddess s-so for you to be experiencing this is quite surreal."
Histoire gave a worried look. "Oh my…"
Noire refused to believe it. "That's bogus! I can totally lift beyond FIVE pounds."
The doctor gave Noire a look. "You want to bet?"
Noire smirked, liking a challenge. "If I can lift more than five pound you release me from this hospital early."
The doctor agreed, "Deal. And if I win, you are gonna stay in bed until you are completely healed by doctor standards."
"Deal."
Noire and the doctor shook on it. Histoire only shook her head disapprovingly as this was a serious matter, but they treated it as a gamble.
The doctor led the goddess and tome to the training room where patients would learn how to use their muscles again. They moved over to the corner where different dumbbells are stored on the metal barred shelf near the walls.
Noire walked over to the black dumbbell on the shelf with a number 8 on it. "I can lift this easily." She grabbed onto the handle and claimed, "This will be a piece of ca-" Her words were cut short as her arm jerked from the weight. She frowned when she was unable to lift the dumbbell. She tried again, but the dumbbell wouldn't budge.
Histoire was concerned, "Noire?"
Noire gritted her teeth as she began to use both hands. "Are you… sure this is… an eight pounder!?" Noire grunted as she strained her arms to lift the dumbbell."
"It is," confirmed the doctor. "And it seems you aren't able to lift it."
"This has to be a joke." Noire glanced down the shelf to see the dumbbell that said 6 on it. She swallowed and moved down to the light dumbbell. Grabbing the handle, she tried to lift the six pound dumbbell. "Grrr!" She clenched her teeth as she was unable to lift it, but was able to slightly shift it. "Gah!" She let the dumbbell go and drop to her knees from exerting herself. "No… way…" Noire's eyes widened with worry as she deeply breathed. She coughed with every breath and it felt like her lungs were on fire. She stared at her quivering hands with disbelief at how exhausted she felt just from trying to lift a six pound dumbbell.
"Looks like I win," stated the doctor. "I advise you to rest and let your muscles rebuild. Since ageism doesn't apply to goddesses, I'm sure you will get your strength back… Lady Noire? Are you listening? Lady Noire?"
Histoire floated in front of Noire so she could see her face. "Noire?"
The black CPU looked up from her hands to face the tome. "I can't even lift a six pound dumbell… Histoire, how am I gonna fight? How am I gonna protect the nation? The people?"
Histoire was unable to answer. "Let's return to your room, Noire. You need rest. The doctor said you are able to get your strength back. Let's wait and see what happens."
Noire glanced back down at her hands. She was in denial. She couldn't believe that she couldn't lift beyond five pounds. It was just as the doctor said. 'This is quite surreal.'

The doctor pressed the diaphragm against Noire's back and told her to take a deep breath. The goddess did as told and took a deep breath only to start coughing and wheezing. The doctor frowned when he took the stethoscope off. He then tilted Noire's head back and had her wink. He pulled out a small flashlight and shined it on Noire's eyes. Her pupils contracted and he quickly pulled the light away to see it dilating. The doctor pulled back and asked to speak with Histoire outside.
Noire watched as the fairy and the doctor disappeared behind the doors. She took a deep breath and choked. She gasped and coughed as she held her throat. She had trouble breathing, that was one thing she knew for sure.
Five minutes later, Histoire came back. Noire asked, "What did the doctor say?"
"Other than your muscle condition, he said there's also a slight problem with your lungs."
"I have trouble breathing, I know…"
"He said your lungs are weak currently, but nothing like some good exercise to increase your lung capacity again. After your muscle cells have rebuilt themselves."
The goddess frowned as she pressed her hand to her chest. "Mode Uranus really put a strain on my body, huh?"
Histoire floated close and landed on her lap. "Noire, I want you to keep that form a secret from Neptune and everyone else."
Noire scoffed, "Kind of hard when everyone saw that form…"
"I will issue a formal letter to everyone that has seen your form, but it's best to never use that power again."
Noire slowly nodded as she remembered Uranus's words. 'If you ever call upon the sealed off Planeptune shares again, I won't guarantee you "will survive…"
"What was that?"
Noire shook her head and assured, "Nothing important. Just something I remembered…"
"Was it about Uranus?"
Noire's eyes widened in shock, "Y-You knew?"
Histoire smiled at the fond memories that played in her head. "Mode Uranus… I can't deny that seeing you in that form reminded me of her."
"She's the True Goddess that gave birth to all of us…" Noire furrowed her eyebrows when she tried to remember what Uranus looks like, but failed when she only remembered a figure of light. "I don't even know what she looked like…"
"She was a little bit like you in her goddess form when you took Mode Uranus," Histoire answered. "She was tall, elegant and had orange hair, with purple tips. Though, she had orange hair in her human form."
Noire subconsciously touched her hair when she remembered her orange bands. "So she was like me when I was in Mode Uranus…"
Histoire giggled, "Somewhat. She had calming blue eyes that could soothe anyone. She was strong, fast, and fierce. She was also very calculating, always planning her next move. She was never competitive, but she did enjoy fighting." The tome frowned. "She enjoyed fighting so much that she ended up making it a sport for herself…"
Noire remembered the feeling of thrill during her battle with Rei. That thirst for excitement, for danger, for blood. That wasn't her, but Uranus herself. The ancient CPU was so relaxing to be around that she would think twice that Uranus would be the type to enjoy fighting so much.
"Don't get me wrong, Uranus was an excellent goddess. She cared for her people and she cared for her friends. Her fighting abilities were beyond what I could imagine today."
"She was much stronger than Neptune?"
"Much." Historie nodded. "If she were still alive, she would probably take all of you out in a single day."
Noire quivered at the thought of going to war with Uranus. "Not to be rude, but I'm glad she's no longer among the living…"
"Yes, it took a lot to defeat Uranus when she had fallen. Ended up taking the Quartet with her. Now, enough about Uranus. Since you have gotten through all your examinations and vital checks, and it is also the next day, I have fulfilled Vert's request and I am able to grant you access to contact Ultradimension. Would you like to speak to Neptune again?"
Noire's red eyes instantly lit up. "May I?"
Histoire chuckled, "You may. Just give me three minutes."

Plutia sighed as she sat at her work desk, tapping her pen against the documents. A frown was present on her face as she looked down at the paper that's scattered across her desk. She couldn't really focus. The purple goddess had been feeling strange lately and she doesn't know why. This kind of feeling only happens whenever Noire gives too much attention to Neptune. And currently, she's feeling a little bit bitter at the fact that Neptune was over at Noire's basilicom.
"Plutia."
The door to her office opened and entered the tiny tome that's slightly quivering.
Plutia sat up straight as she placed down her pen. "Histy. Why are you shaking?"
"I have a call coming in. It seems to be from the other me."
"Oooooh!" Plutia's eyes lit up, happy to have found a distraction to her strange bitter feelings. "Answer, answer, answer!"
"I was actually looking for Neptune, but I guess I can take a message." Histoire answered the inter dimensional call. "Hello."
The screen turned big and an image of the other Hitsoire and Noire appeared. "We're looking for Neptune. Is she around?" asked the larger tome.
Plutia squealed and voiced, "Hellooooo!"
Noire blinked in surprise. "Ummm, hello…"
"Wow! You sound juuuuuuust like Noire!"
"That's… cause I am…"
Plutia giggled, "Sooooooorry, I haven't really properly talked to you before."
"That… is true." Noire only talked to Neptune and only ever saw Plutia in the background. "I guess this would make this our first interaction then."
"It does! I was a bit bored, so sorry if you weren't expecting me…"
Noire softly smiled, "Not at all. It's good to properly talk to one of Neptune's friends."
"It seems I'm not needed, I'll leave the connection on," said the other Histoire.
Noire nodded, "Thank you."
"Not at all."
Noire placed her attention back on the screen as she leaned back against the propped up pillows. "Sorry, where was I. Oh, I do apologize for my last interaction with you and your other friends. I was being rude."
Plutia tilted her head in confusion. "Our last interaction?" Plutia thought back to the time she ever saw the other Noire. "Oh! During your argument with Neppy, right? That's alright. I'm sorry for keeping Neppy to myself."
Noire shook her head. "No. I was irrational. It's not your fault. I was being selfish. I hope I didn't leave a bad impression on you."
Plutia beamed, "Nope! I can tell you really care about Neppy. Makes me happy that she has such a nice and loving partner."
Noire blushed, "T-Thanks… S-So where is Neptune?"
"Oh! You called for her, right? Silly me," chuckled purple CPU. "She's at Noire's basilicom."
Noire blinked, "My basilicom?"
"No, the Noire over here. Neppy's at her place, right now."
"She's there with the other me, alone?"
Plutia nodded, "Yep. Histy, can you call her for me. I'm gonna keep talking with Noire."
Histoire nodded. "Of course, but please don't forget about the paperwork."
"I knooooooow."
Plutia watched as the tome left her office. She was now left alone and she planned to waste as much time as possible, talking to the other black CPU. She looked back onto the screen and noticed the troubled look on her nice. "Noire?"
She's with the other me. Alone… The goddess began to think the worst of what's happening between Neptune and her counterpart. Did… Did she think I died and went for my counterpart? She moved on that quickly? N-No, Neptune wouldn't do that… would she? Her… Her love for me wouldn't be that shallow… would it? Is she over there now having fun with the other me?
"Ummmm… Noire? You look… kinda pale? Are you still sick?"
"Huh? Oh! No! I-I'm perfectly fine. Just a bit lightheaded… I guess."
"Neppy was really worried about you, y'know."
"She was?"
Plutia nodded, "Uh huh. She cried for three weeks. Even a mention about you caused her to feel sad. She also tried to call you, but no one answered. She's been worried if you were alive or not, but you're clearly alive otherwise we wouldn't be talking!"
Noire chuckled, "Yes. That is very true."
"I made you laugh! Yay! I'm glad you're feeling better."
Noire smiled. Plutia gave off a nice vibe. It was somewhat similar to Neptune's only more childish. "I'm sorry if I caused some trouble for Neptune."
"Neppy was right, you really are different from Noire."
Noire tilted her head in puzzlement. "What do you mean?"
"Well, the Noire other here doesn't really apologize much unless I ask her to. She's really… um…" Plutia tapped her chin, trying to describe her friend. "She's really tough. Likes to stay on top of things, but she's also really shy. Really cute when she blushes. Kinda like you."
Noire's cheeks turned slightly red. "Thanks, I guess." She still doesn't know how to feel being compared to another version of her.
"There! Her face turns red just like that. It's so adorable!"
"You seem to really like that Noire."
Plutia nodded. "She's my very beeeeest friend! I love her!"
Noire blinked. "By love, you mean friend wise, right?"
"Uuuuuuh, yeah!" Plutia smiled, "Friend. I love her as my friend."
Noire tilted her head as she stared at the girl on the other side of the screen. She could tell that Plutia was hiding something. She thought that Plutia would be easy to read, but that wasn't so. There was something showing behind her smile, but it was hidden really well that Noire couldn't place her finger on it.
"Noire? Why are you staaaaaring like that?"
"Sorry, just curious about something."
"What? Tell me, tell me!"
"I'm curious about Noire, well the other me I guess." Noire fidgeted as she played with her hair. "Has she been, I don't know, really friendly towards Neptune, perhaps?"
"Uh yeah! Noire and Neptune have gotten really close over the past years. I guess it's because Noire reminds Neppy of you. I'm kind of jealous of how Neppy spends so much time with Noire." Plutia sighed as her smile faltered.
"Oh…" Noire blinked. There it was. A look she was all too familiar with. The look of longing. Noire noticed how that expression has plastered her face numerous times after Neptune went away. The expression that's hidden behind Plutia's smile was the same as hers. "I see what's going on now…"
"Hmm. What do you see?"
Noire smiled, "You must value Noire a lot."
"Uh huh. She's my first ever friend. I wouldn't be here without her. She means the world to me."
"Well I'll be rooting for you, I guess."
"Huh?" Plutia gave her a confused look. "What do you mean?"
Noire gigled, "You'll understand someday."
Plutia pouted, "Boo, I want to understand nooooow…"
Noire couldn't help but laugh at Plutia's expression. She hadn't felt this relaxed and worried free before. Ever since Neptune left and Rei Ryghts gained reputation, her days have been so stressful. It was good to let loose once in a while, Noire guessed that talking to Plutia had that effect on her. Similar to Neptune's in a way. Hmm. Maybe that's the reason why I'm being so open with Plutia… She has a similar aura to Neptune. Thinking of Neptune, I wonder when she'll come…?

Neptune sighed as she slumped back against the couch with a cup of pudding in her hands. She stared up at the ceiling as she swung her legs back and forth.
"Are you alright, Neptune?"
The purple goddess turned her head to see Noire taking a seat next to her. "Oh yeah, just peachy. Not like I'm still worried about my girlfriend that might or might not be dead! Not like Histy will answer my calls no matter how many times I had mini Histy call her…" Neptune rubbed the bridge of her nose and groaned.
Noire nodded and confirmed, "Okay, I take it that you're not alright."
Neptune sighed, "It's been five months, Noire. Five months and I haven't heard anything from Histy or Vert. Nothing on my Noire."
Noire bit her lower lip when they fell into an awkward silence. It was strange for her. She never felt like this around Plutia. Her heart was beating fast and her body was feeling warm. She felt flustered for some reason. She's usually never flustered around Neptune, unless she was being teased, of course.
"I'm sure everything is fine. As I've said. Any version of me would never die that easily," claimed Noire.
Neptune rolled her eyes as she grumbled, "I know. You told me that so many times."
"Well stop being so moody and grouchy," Noire voiced.
"Sorry, I can't help it…"
Noire huffed and bit her lower lip. "Maybe… Maybe you should just forget about her…" her voice came out in a whisper, "And look at me instead…"
Neptune dropped her pudding cup and groaned, "Awe Nep it!" She bent over and picked the cup. "Sorry for spilling pudding all over your carpet. Anyway, what did you say? I didn't hear."
Noire sighed and shook her head. "Never mind. It wasn't important."
Neptune blinked and then shrugged. "Well, alright. If you say so." Suddenly, her screen popped up showing an incoming call from Histoire. "Hmm? What would mini Histy want?" The purple CPU answered and the dark screen showed the image of Histoire. "What's up?"
"Hello, Neptune. I'm calling to tell you that a call from your Noire came."
Neptune blinked. "My… Noire?"
Histoire nodded. "Yes."
"I-If she called then… then…" Neptune's lips slowly curled to a bright smile.
"Yes, your Noire is alive," confirmed the tome.
"Well connect her to me! I need to see her! I need to be sure she's alive with my own eyes!"
"I would, but unfortunately she is currently talking to Plutia. They seem to be getting along."
"Getting… along?" Neptune glanced over to Noire, knowing that her girlfriend's counterpart has a crush on Plutia and began to think the worse. "How along is along?"
"I do not understand your question. I can hear giggling and laughter from her office if that's what you mean?"
Neptune immediately stood up and announced, "Thanks for contacting me. I refuse to let Plutia have all the Noires!"
The black goddess gave Neptune a confused look. "Excuse me?"
Neptune ignored Noire and said, "I'll be right over mini Histy!" She closed her holographic screen and turned to Noire. "Thanks for letting me hang out here, but I now must save my girlfriend from the cuteness that is known as Plutia!" Neptune transformed into Purple Heart and jogged to the balcony.
"Neptune, wait! Don't you think you're overreacting!"
"Sorry, Noire," replied Purple Heart. "I shall see you another time. I must confirm that my significant other is alright." She summoned her purple wings and took flight.
Noire sighed as she watched her go. "Yeah… I know…" She couldn't help but feel the slight bubbling of envy in her heart.

Noire listened to Plutia's giggly voice as she showed all the dolls she made. The black goddess was impressed with the other CPU's sewing abilities.
"And this is a doll I made of Neppy! Isn't it cute!" Plutia squealed.
Noire nodded, "It indeed is. I'd almost want to ask you to make me one."
Plutia gasped as her eyes sparkled. "I could! I could make one for you so you don't feel lonely when Neppy goes away!"
"Ah…" Noire's smile faltered as her eyes dulled.
Plutia blinked and then realized what she said. "I-I meant, Neppy won't go away! She cares for you a lot! I meant like when-"
The black goddess softly chuckled, "I know what you meant. It's alright."
"I'm sorry," Plutia voiced as she lowered her Neptune doll. "I shouldn't have worded it like that… "
"Don't worry about it, but I'll ask for that Neptune doll if you're offering to make another for me."
Plutia beamed, "Uh huh! I'll make it extra special just for you!"
Noire giggled, "I look forward to it."
"Oh, oh!" Plutia bounced up and down with excitement. "When Neppy comes ba-"
Plutia was suddenly cut off as a loud crash. There was loud stomping and a low growl. Noire couldn't really figure out what it came from, but from how Plutia brightened up it must be good.
Plutia began, "Oh! You're ba-"
"Now hold on here!"
Noire recognized that voice. She could feel her heart swelling just from that single sentience. "Was that Neptune?"
Plutia placed her attention back on the screen and nodded, "Yeah! She's-"
Plutia was suddenly shoved aside as Neptune took over. "Noire!"
Noire smiled, "Neptune…"
"Ooooow," Plutia whined. "That wasn't nice, Neppy."
"Shut it, girlfriend stealer!" Neptune voiced.
Noire tilted her head in confusion. "Girlfriend stealer?"
"Don't listen to Plutie, Noire. Whatever sweet talk she put you under, don't believe any of it!"
Noire couldn't help but chuckled, "Neptune, what are you talking about?"
"Yeah Neppy, I wasn't stealing anything."
"Don't you dare act all innocent!" Neptune pointed accusingly at Plutia. "Histy told me all about how you were getting along with my Noire. You already have a Noire looking at you, I don't need you taking my Noire's attention from me!"
"Neptune, calm down. She was just keeping me company while I waited for you," explained Noire.
"That's what you want me to think! But I can see right through you!" Neptune frowned as she crossed her arms. "You were smitten by Plutia's cuteness, weren't you!?"
Noire blushed as she glanced slightly away. "Ummm… Well, I can't lie that she's adorable."
Neptune gasped in horror, "I knew it! You cheater!"
Noire sighed, "Neptune, seriously, nothing happened. Plutia just reminds me of you a little bit, that's all. You're still the person I love."
Neptune's cheeks turned pink, "Really? Do you think I'm cuter than Plutie too?"
Noire rolled her eyes, but answered, "Of course. You get first place for cuteness, but I think you're much more than cute."
Neptune gave her a puzzled look. "What do you mean?"
Noire batted her eyelashes as she purred, "I'll tell you during one of our intimate hours on how I see you…"
Neptune suddenly felt hot as her face turned bright red. She fidgeted in place under Noire's seductive gaze, "Oh… well umm…" Neptune coughed as she cleared her throat. "I uh… I look forward to that…"
Plutia snickered, "Neppy, your face is soooooo red!"
Neptune could feel steam coming out from her ears. "Dang it, Noire! Why are acting all sexy!? I call cheats, what happened to you being a tsundere!?"
Noire giggled, "Sorry. I couldn't help but tease you. You were acting so strange. Since when were you the one to get jealous?"
Neptune pouted, "Of course I get jealous…"
Noire softly smiled, finding the expression too cute to ignore. "Plutia, I don't want to kick you out of your own office, but is it alright if I speak with Neptune in private?"
Plutia nodded, "Sure! I don't mind. I'll start working on your gift." The purple CPU waved as she left.
Neptune narrowed her eyes at her lover. "Gift? What gift? Is she still trying to win you over!?"
Noire groaned, "No, Neptune. I asked her for something."
"What?"
"Nothing you need to know of," answered the black goddess.
"That doesn't really reassure me."
"Neptune, I love you. You don't need to worry about me falling for someone else. In fact, I should be the one that's worried," said Noire. "You have another me in Ultradimension."
This time, it was Neptune's turn to roll her eyes. "You know I only have eyes for you. That other Noire is nothing compared to you."
Noire blushed, "Hearing that makes me feel better."
Neptune smiled, "Speaking of feeling better…" The purple CPU frowned as her eyebrows knitted with worry. "Last time I saw you…"
Noire nodded, "My heart stopped, but the doctors got it started again. I just have a slight problem with breathing, but other than that, I'm perfectly alright." The black goddess didn't want to mention her muscle condition. She didn't want to worry Neptune anymore than she already did.
Neptune took a deep breath, happy to know that her lover was alright. "You have no idea how frightened I was. This time difference is messing with me real good. I for sure thought…" Neptune could feel her throat closing on her. "I thought…" Her eyes slightly watered as she remembered how Noire suddenly stopped moving as the heart monitor sounded a single beep.
"I was only dead for less than a minute, but I'm alive. See?" Noire gave Neptune a bright smile that caused the other CPU to blush.
"Gosh, I miss seeing your smiling face," Neptune giggled as she wiped her tears away.
"I miss seeing you as well," Noire also giggled. She let her eyes roam around Neptune's face and now getting a good look at her lover, she noticed some darkness under her eyes. "Hmm?" You've been taking care of yourself, right? Eating properly? Sleeping well?"
Neptune rolled her eyes, but she had a smile on, "I'm doing fine, mom."
Noire pouted, "I'm just worried about your health, that's all. You have bags under your eyes."
"I think I'm taking better care of myself than you are of yourself. You're in the hospital," Neptune mumbled.
"This is my first time in the hospital since the Console War, Neptune. Now why haven't you been sleeping?"
Neptune frowned, "I've been getting nightmares the past five months…"
Noire raised an eyebrow questioningly, "Nightmares?"
Neptune nodded. "Everytime I go to bed and close my eyes, I just see your limp body and the sound of a dead monitor. I just can't unsee what I saw and I get scared that you might actually be gone…"
"Oh, Neptune…"
The purple CPU, hesitantly chuckled as she rubbed the back of her neck. "B-But since I know you're alive and well, maybe I can finally get a good night's rest?"
"I'm sorry for worrying you like that…" Noire said.
"It's fine, I'm just happy to know you're alright."
Noire smirked, "Enough with all these murky feelings. What kind of trouble have you been getting yourself into?"
Neptune was taken aback by the accusation. "What!? I'll have you know that I have been behaving well. I've been doing work."
The black goddess rolled her eyes. "Riiiight. Work. I'm suuuuuure you weren't slacking off and not causing headaches for their Histoire."
Neptune pouted and claimed, "I am doing work and I haven't been giving mini Histy too many headaches!"
Noire giggled and Neptune couldn't help but giggle along. The two continue on chatting, causing more laughs and snickers.

"Guess I didn't need to worry."
"Hey! Uni!"
The candidate jumped in surprise when her holographic screen popped open to show White Sister. "Ram, you scared me!"
"We're already halfway to Planeptune. Are you coming or what? Did you finish seeing Noire yet?"
Uni groaned, "Yeah, she's doing fine. I'm coming." She closed the screen and glanced back at Noire's room. She smirked and ran down the hallway to catch up with the other two candidates.
Author's Note
Poor Noire lost all her muscle, at least she feels better after talking with Plutia and Neptune. XD
Thought I'd go for a somewhat lighthearted chapter. And give Plutia a little development too since I have this idea planned for her later on. Not sure if I'll like it or not but I'll just have to see how it turns out when I write it. Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed the chapter and I'll see you all next time! Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving! XD
