Dancing
It was celebration she wasn't used to. But she wanted to dress up for this a simply lavender night dress low cut with a slit for her legs to move. She sighed looking for her fiancé Sora. As she wanted to get her mind off of things. Why was she like this? She wanted this so why did she want to bail so badly. Maybe because she felt so detached from the little girl, who would spend hours picking flowers. Or even the young teen just finishing in Middle School she once was she went to sit alone outside.
She felt like she was being rude to Cinderella and Prince Charming, who had held a party to celebrate the birth of their baby boy Chad. Kairi had mentioned the name in passing during a visit and she absolutely loved the sound of it. Kairi chuckled a little at the memory. But that didn't alleviate her guilt over everything. Deeper still was the guilt that she would put Sora in horrifying danger again, like she had before again because of her own incompetence. She held herself sadly.
"Kairi, what's wrong?" she turned to see Sora in a Tux.
"Honestly I'm kind of a mess inside," She admitted. "A lot has happened over the past five years and I just feel like I've been more of a Hindrance than of any use."
"Don't say that!" Sora cried. "You've always been my shining hope. I know that doesn't seem like much but-"
"Sora I got you killed and banished from reality because I wasn't strong enough to escape." Kairi shouted. "I've always been used against you! And I hate myself for it!"
There was a pause Sora eventually broke it. "Well, I don't. I've never blamed you. And you shouldn't either!" Sora said hugging her from behind. Kairi, sniffled a little he kissed her cheek. Maybe she was being too hard on herself she only just found out that her power had passed onto Namine. As she was crystalized she could hear the words from that day on the war.
"Why why her?!"
"Because you annoy me, you superfluous little dullard."
Kairi sighed. it filled her with anger and hate towards herself. She closed her eyes tightly but Sora's voice broke through. "Hey let's dance!" Sora said gleefully. "Kairi you lead!"
"Are you sure?" Kairi said Sora nodded as they walked out the Orchestra filling the room as the two began to dance. Kairi lead the way spinning one way as Sora merely followed as they spun to the music shifting and swaying she felt her anger melt away. Her sadness too, she then realized Sora trusted her to lead as they pulled out from each other. She went to Ask.
"I trust you with everything." Sora whispered in her ear making her blush and feel hot. She leaned into him letting their the music guide her and guide him as they danced under the crystal chandelier.
