Notes:

Hello.

It's been almost 2 months.

Honestly, I hadn't written anything at all in these two months until today. But to make up for it, I wrote three chapters. And I mean 3 full chapters, not one chapter that I split into three because I did that sometimes, and that wasn't really the same thing. I had a really cool idea, and I wanted to add it to the story. So I did, and it took me three chapters to do that.

Anyway, I'm sure a lot of things happened within these three months that I have not posted in my life, but I don't remember anything at this moment, so I'm not going to write anything in the notes. Besides buying a really expensive hoodie a few days ago and eating some delicious pizza last night, I don't remember anything that happened this month, so yeah.

I am starting school again on the 8th. But I only have one class a week so it's not really a big deal and I'm sure I'll have more time to write. Oh yeah, that's why I didn't write. I totally forgot that finals took up so much of my time. I can't believe I forgot about finals; what the fuck. I am very sleep-deprived as it is currently 8 a.m. in the morning, and I have not slept since I had some delicious pizza yesterday, so yeah. Honestly, I don't know where I'm going with this peace. Oh yeah, if you've never tried grandma-style pizza, you are missing out on life. It's not for everyone, especially if you really like cheese, but for people who are lactose intolerant, that is the pizza for you if you don't like tomato sauce, that is not the pizza for you, just FYI, LOL.

Brooklyn does pizza really well in general, but the grandma-style pizza at this one place is so good. If I wasn't careful, I could have definitely eaten the whole pie by myself, and it's like a lot of slices because it's like a square pie. But I could eat that whole thing by myself; it's THAT good.

Stiles POV:

So Google proved pretty useless. I find with most supernatural things; if it's not written in a worn-down book or in a language nobody's ever heard of, it's probably not helpful. It's like the unofficial rule of all things supernatural. If you ever want to find information about whatever, you have to go down a long path of bullshit before you get to any real facts. And unfortunately for me, there is no information on Google about the 'wild hunt' or any information that I could make heads or tails off of. Apparently, with everyone forgetting about stuff, it makes it hard to write legends and stuff. There was some bullshit written in German that not even my translating app could help me with.

Basically, I was going around in circles finding absolutely no information that helped me. At some point in the middle of the night, I decided to just say fuck it and go to sleep because I had to start getting ready to leave soon. Even though I would be leaving in three...no...two days, I had to gather some stuff together.

I also texted Hayley that I was going to be late in coming to New Orleans. I told her something came up with my father, and I had to go see him. I didn't give her the full details because I didn't want to stress her out or make her have to ever experience the hellishness of Beacon Hills. But I did let her know that Peter might meet her there or something along those lines. Peter was down to chill in this apartment for a few weeks until I got back. But I said that he should go ahead of me if I don't come back in a while. I expected this to take time.

When is a problem in Beacon Hills quick and easy?

Never!

Two days pass...

I was piling everything in my Jeep with Lydia and Rei. Our plan was to drive to the airport and meet Damon tomorrow morning at the airport in Cali. The whole trip was kind of a blur; we were rushing. Well, I was rushing, and so was everyone else.

Lydia and I slept through the whole plane ride, and Rei read a book. When we got to the airport in California, Damon was waiting in an already rented car. It took some haggling to get him to stop being a jackass and let everyone in the car. But in no time at all, they pulled into Beacon Hills. The town seemed the same. People were still milling about. Nobody was panicking. There weren't any problems around. I told Damon to drop me off quickly by the sheriff's station.

I didn't waste any time, I asked Jordan where my dad was, and he looked confused,

"Stiles, good to see you again, but what are you talking about? You don't have a dad. Are you okay? If I remember correctly, your dad died when you were little." Jordan said to be careful with his words.

"Your mom's not in yet. Should I call her?" He asked.

I frowned.

I was unsure what to think about the mom thing. I love my mom, of course, but she wasn't real, just an illusion created from the wild hunt. It's not easy to bring the dead back to life, I've only seen it happen twice, and I can see for both Peter and Elena, it wasn't easy. I don't really want to confront her, but at the same time, I can run fast enough to my house. Because she's my mom, she's alive again. I missed her so much. But now my father's gone...I...I...just don't know what to do.

"Oh no, don't call her. I'm fine. Uh...I'll see her later. But, uh, I was just curious if you had any missing person reports?" I say, pushing my emotions back for a second.

I needed to focus on making things right again. Yes...to make things...right.

"Missing persons? Uh, no, we don't have any recently. Why? Is someone missing? Is it a supernatural thing?" Jordan asks.

"Oh no, don't worry about it. Also, don't tell my m...m...mom I'm here yet. It's a surprise." I say quickly as I leave.

"Okay. No problem Stiles." Jordan says with a bit of a suspicious look on his face, but he doesn't push it.

I run back into the car.

"So what was that awkward conversation as you still haven't explained anything to me yet," Damon asked.

"Uh well, Welcome to Beacon Hills, a beacon for all things supernatural. Anyway, the current problem plaguing the town is something called the Wild Hunt." I start.

"Wild Hunt? Never heard of it." Damon says.

"You wouldn't. It's a fable in the supernatural world, or it was. It talks of these men...well no...monsters that ride into towns stealing people and making everyone who ever knew them to forget their existence. There are stories of whole towns getting erased from history because of it. But it's always talked of as being a myth. Which is why this is weird." Rei says, understanding the conversation that happened between Jordan and I.

"So a bunch of people just disappeared. But Stiles, you said your dad is gone, right? How do the police function when they forget their sheriff?" Lydia asks.

"Your dad is missing?" Damon questions.

"Yes. My dad is missing, and as far as I could tell, so is Bonnie. And to answer your question Lydia, my best guess is the Wild Hunt replaced my dad with a fake version of my mom. According to Malia, she is the new sheriff and very much alive." I said, looking worried.

"It brought your mom back?" Lydia says, surprised.

"Yeah. Which I want to be happy about but is it at the cost of my father? Because I've only seen two people come back from the dead. One was Peter, who still won't tell me how he did it, and the other was Elena, who had someone sacrifice themselves in her place, and I don't want that for my dad, even if I miss my mom, you know." I say get worked up.

"I get Stiles, relax. Damon, go here." Lydia says after messing with the GPS on the car, it was fixed to go to her house, which was smart as we assess the situation.

And also because I don't know if I can face my mom yet.

After putting our luggage away and saying hi to Lydia's mom, Damon was gonna compel her, but he was surprised when she didn't say anything about 3 guys just staying in her house with her daughter. As much as she rooted for Lydia to be independent and do whatever she wanted, she trusted Lydia to be smart. Also, Lydia's mom trusted Stiles since she found out about the supernatural. Damon and Rei were momentarily shocked but rolled with it. Lydia's mom soon left; she still worked at the high school. It was 8 in the morning at the moment, I bought my laptop, and the moment Lydia's mom left, I started to Google search again about the wild hunt, and with the information that Rei had given in the car right here, I started to search for similar words, at this point I was looking at anything.

Damon and Lydia took the car and went to go get food and to do reconnaissance, or so Damon said. Lydia was informed that Damon was a vampire, but she was less shocked after meeting two originals. Plus, Lydia was pretty badass on her own. So I wasn't too worried, plus I gave her vervain two days ago just in case as much as I didn't hate Damon, which wasn't much, but he kind of was okay even after everything that happened in Mystic Falls.

I didn't trust him, because as I know, he only does stuff for his own gains and sometimes about those he cares about. And I know he doesn't care about any of us, so better safe than sorry.

And Rei also left; he didn't really tell me anything other than he was curious about something and the disappeared, as he does. So I was left alone with my laptop in Lydia's house just researching. Luckily this time, I got farther than I got before.

I found a website that seemed a little bit sketchy but, sketchy was what I was looking for. And there was a book being sold for a hefty amount of money, but it said that it held information, in English, about the wild hunt. I contacted the seller. Because it sounded too good to be true, and she said that it is true, and she sent me a few excerpts from the book, and it was more information that I had gotten in a week of researching. I told her I would buy it.

However, I'd have to borrow some money from Peter. I could afford half of it, but that would be like all my money, so I was gonna just ask Peter for the rest and then pay him whenever I made the money back.

However, she wasn't willing to deliver it for some reason.

And she said that she was willing to hand it to me in person. I would just have to drive a little bit. I told her I was in California, and she said that apparently, I wasn't very far from where she lives and that if I could just drive down there, she would happily hand over and take off some money because I would have to come to get it myself.

I asked her why she couldn't ship it over, of course, because that was even more sketchy than the original offer, but she said that there was no post office in her town. She said she was very off the grid.

The more I talk to this woman, the weirder it becomes. First of all, she didn't even give me the name of a town that I ever heard of. She said it was a small town that probably didn't even make it to some maps, which was true because I couldn't find any mention of it anywhere. But she gave me coordinates that did point somewhere, and it wasn't very far away from Beacon Hills, surprisingly.

I told her I wasn't going to come alone because I told her this sounded very sketchy. But surprisingly, she wasn't upset by that; she actually welcomed me to bring people if I wanted to. This threw me off a little bit and made me have a little bit of trust in her words. Because who wants people to bring more people if you're just gonna scam them, especially since they could be carrying guns and whatnot, so it made me trust her a little bit more.

Eventually, after she took the price down halfway, I agreed to meet her because I needed this book. It looks pretty old, and the information that she gave me as proof that it was a real thing and had credible information looked legit, and at this point, I'm down for anything. Especially if I can bring my teacher, Damon, and Lydia, I'm sure all of us could easily take on one woman in some remote off-grid town. Would she even try to scam us in the first place? I waited until everyone got back, and I told him of the book and how it wasn't really far away, and we could just go pick it up.

I was there and yelled at by everyone because they told me it was obviously a scam and that I was going to be murdered in some random place in California. I told them that I could bring everyone, and then they stop yelling at me. I'm not an idiot. I'm stupid sometimes, most of the time. But I'm not an idiot. I realize that this is a very sketchy thing. The fact that she can use a computer, but she can't ship it to me. Or the fact that I have to come to get it from her in person and that she'll take the price down 50%. Yeah, it seems like a huge scam.

But that's how much I need the book. Because I have scoured the Internet and there is nothing. Nobody remembers about the wild hunt. The only place you're ever going to find information about it is probably someone like my teacher, who has heard the tale and knows about it from stories passed down through generations. Someone who might have information about it would be Deaton, but I want to stay 500 miles away from that fucker if I can.

So I'm running out of options, and I want my dad to be alive, and I want Beacon Hills to not vanish off the face of the earth, especially since I am currently in it. And as much as I hate this town and the stupid curse that it has placed on everyone in it, I don't want to disappear because this is my home, and I miss my dad.

So if going to get a shady book, from a shady lady, in a shady place in California is what I have to do, then I'm going to do it. Even if it's probably gonna kill me—the things I do for my family and friends. And even though a lot of people in Beacon Hills pissed me off since I last talk to them, they're still my friends, and they're still my family. So as much as Scott is being a little shit recently, I still care about him. I don't think I could ever erase the friendship that I had with him, even if he doesn't like me anymore.

And then maybe that's a character flaw of mine that I'm just too loyal, but I uh I can't help it, and I really don't know if I would want it any other way.

We debated for at least two hours before I eventually just tell them I'm going no matter what because I need the book. Lydia eventually joins me because she says that even if I am doing something stupid, she at least has my back and is willing to go do stupid shit with me because we're friends. Rei agrees as he's willing to see the progress of his lessons and my secret practice that apparently wasn't a secret to him.

And eventually, Damon agreed after a bit of convincing.

However, he was reluctant because he assumed that I was walking to my death, and he didn't want to join me.
