Hey everyone it's been awhile. I had to take a break because all the stories were stressing me out. With that I have to say that I decided that those stories will not continue. I wasn't happy with the way they turned out, so I'm sorry if you liked them.
TW. Talks of abuse
Amity Blight was new to this height school she was currently attending. She had been there for two weeks. She thought it was a little stupid to be going to a new school for senior year, but went along with anyway. Her parents knew best, right? Amity had quickly made her way to the top. Into the popular kids clique and on the student council. Her path was straightforward to a bright future.
"Ok just gotta get this yearbook form the basement and I'll be on my" Amity thought as she walked down the hallway. It was Monday morning and she was early like always. She had bumped into a teacher who asked her to retrieve something from the basement.
Why does Mr. Underwood even need a year book? Probably just wants to show off his old class again"
She reached the basement and unlocked the door. She made her was down the stairs. The light was already on so that was a little weird, but she didn't think much of it. Amity looked around. Opening and closing box's.
"Maybe it's around this corner?"
Amity walked around the corner and stopped in her tracks. On the floor a tan girl sat leaning against a backpack, her nose buried in a book. Her dark hair fell to her shoulders. She wore a green T-Shirt and grey sweatpants. Amity waits for the girl to notice her. Eventually she did. The girl jumped up form where she was sitting.
" you can't tell anyone I'm here!" She said.
Amity was still very confused. "Ok? What are you doing in the basement?"
"I could lie" she said. But I think I can trust a cutie like you. Hi my name is Luz and let me tell you my story." She sits down and pats the ground next to her. Amity hesitates a second, but then sits down.
"Ok" Luz continues. How I got here. It was my senior year on the last day of school. I got my diploma at graduation the night before. I was getting ready to leave when I remembered I wanted to get a book form the basement. I've been down there before, so I went and got the key. Stupidly I left the key in the door. Some boys who bullied me saw me down there and decided to lock the door . I was down here for a couple hours when the janitors unlocked the door"
"So why didn't you leave?" Amity asked.
"I didn't want too" Luz answered. My home life wasn't the best. My mother died when I was fourteen so I was put in foster care, until one day I was adopted my Cody and Martha. They were terrible. They hit me, yelled at me. It was awful. So I decided I would just stay at the school. I went up and took food from the kitchen and brought it down here. The janitors usually forget to lock the door, but sometimes I'm down here for a couple days. Don't ask how I use the bathroom."
"Wow. That is a lot of information" Amity said. "I'm sorry your home life sucked."
Luz shrugged. "Not much you can do. I live down here now"
"Amity looked at her watch "oh I gotta go to class!" Amity got up to leave.
"Wait!" Luz said " I don't know your name"
"Amity Blight"
Will you come back? Asked Luz "I haven't talked to someone is so long"
"I'll think about it." Amity told her.
She walked back up the stairs. She debated if she should lock the door. Eventually she decides to leave it unlocked.
Against her better judgement. Amity went back down to talk to Luz at lunch.
"How old are you?" Amity asked taking a bite of her sandwich. She had decided to share her lunch with Luz.
"I'm eighteen turning nineteen in March" Luz said. Tell me about yourself.
Amity swallowed her food. "Umm.. let's see. I'm also eighteen. I have two older siblings who are twins and I'm on the student council."
"Interesting" Luz rubbed her chin. "What do you do for fun?"
"Mostly I study." Amity said. " I have to be a top Student."
"Who told you that you have to be at the top?" Luz asked tilting her head a little.
"My parents. Amity said. "They want me to uphold the family name and take over the family business. So it's straight As and straight path here on out."
Luz rested her hand Amity's. The gesture felt nice Plus Luz's hand was bigger then hers.
"But is that what you want?" Luz questioned.
"It doesn't matter what I want." Amity said looking away.
"Amity I might have not known you long, but it does matter what you want." Luz said.
Deep down Amity knew Luz was right. Of course it should matter what she wanted, but did her parents care? Not really. Did Amity want to take over the family business? No.
"Your right" Amity sighed. It should matter what I want. I guess I just need to learn that.
. Luz moved her hand to Amity's shoulder. "Now your talking" she smiled.
Amity smiled back. "Wait? Why am I sad that she moved her hand?"
"Ok Luz" Amity said. "It's almost time for me to go".
Luz's face fell.
"But I'm gonna come back. When I do I'm going to bring you food and a blanket. I don't like the idea that your down here at night without one."
"Aww are you going soft on me blight?" Luz smirked.
"Shut up" Amity playfully punched Luz in the arm. "I'll see you tomorrow."
Until we meet again gatita" Luz said.
Amity only had one tough going back up the stairs."
"What did she just call me?"
Done.I really like this story and i am going to take my time writing it. If the Spanish is right, Luz is calling Amity kitten. I thought it would be cute because I imagine Amity with tiny hands and a small nose. So that's how Luz got the idea
