Ever since she graduated, Camie Utsushimi has been asked the same question a ridiculous amount of times.

"So, when are you gonna get married, huh?"

She gives her friend, Tooru Hagakure, a weird look.

"Oh, don't give me that! You're in the Hero world, now! There must be, like, tons of hot guys working with you! Right?"

Hagakure nudges her shoulder, missing the somewhat distant look in Camie's eyes. Getting married was almost out of the question for some heroes. Yet some people like Uravity and Deku were able to make it happen. They're in their late twenties! And they're considering children!

Children…

True, Shiketsu never allowed relationships, therefore she has no experience whatsoever dating guys… but it couldn't be as hard as being a hero. Love must hardly compare to the vigorous training regimen Shiketsu lead, so being smitten must be nothing more than cakewalk.

Even Tailman and Invisible Girl have a thing going on, now...

"Oh yeah," Camie replies honestly. "There are, like, tons of hot dudes working w/ us. They'd all even asked for my number."

"You lucky dog!"

Lucky? No. Inexperienced? Hell yes.

Those guys who'd asked were nothing more than sidekicks, anyway.

She felt nothing as she typed in the code of numbers for them. Not one spark, not even as they exuberantly wished her goodnight with their faces coated in pink.

Speaking of which, she has yet to reply to them…

"How's about it? Will Maboromicamie finally announce her relationship?"

Camie can tell Hagakure is gleaming like a gem. Even if she is invisible.

Maboromicamie smiles softly.

"Dunno, prolly not."

Just like that, Hagakure's tone dies. "Why not? You don't have anyone you have your eye on?"

"I totes didn't say that."

And she's back to her shine. "So you do! Who is he? What's his name?"

Oh dear. She's said too much. Let's see, how would Hagakure react if Camie told her she's head over heels for the Explosion Hero, Ground Zero? Namely, Katsuki Bakugou.

Yep.

That conniving bastard somehow stole her heart. She remembers it like yesterday, too. How dare he.

Maybe Hagakure wouldn't mind, yet again, she's more the honest type… maybe she'd hit her? Knock her back to her senses? Yeah, that sounds about right.

"He's totally lame."

Camie lies as naturally as she breathes.

"So, what?" Hagakure says. "You love some low level hero, or? You're being too vague. Lame how?"

Rolling her eyes, Camie tosses a coin into the large fountain they are sitting on. "Mmm, I wouldn't say low level…" then sneaks a snarky grin at Hagakure, "he's top five."

She expects the outburst, covering her ears before Hagakure delivers, "Top 5?! You're aiming too high, Camie! You're only top 40, and you're after someone as amazing as that?! That's too good to be true!"

"Aww, come on, a girl can dream, can't she?"

"Yes, but — ugh!" collapsing into her arms, Hagakure lets out a harsh, muffled grumble. Camie chuckles, soothing her friend in her own confusion.

Too good to be true, huh?

Yeah…

That sounds about right.

Bakugou surely wouldn't want someone as low level as her at his side…

What is she even thinking? Why is she so upset all of a sudden?

"Anyway," Hagakure suddenly chirps. "I've gotta go. I'm meeting my boyfriend, Ojiro,"

"to go see a movie."

"Hey, why'd you pause like that?!"

Hagakure giggles, waves her final goodbye and stalks off into the mall. Camie, now alone, watches as her friend disappears into the crowd. She never thought an interaction with the Invisible Girl could ever leave her rethinking things.

The day she fell in love.

The day she was forced to keep it a secret, protocol of Shiketsu.

The day she was doomed to agonize over it every night she lie in her bed. Days dragging on and on, talking to him over the phone every other weekend. Her mood would skyrocket at the sound of his voice.

It all came gradually. The day it all started.

The day he saved me.

Camie rummages through her coin purse, flicking 10 yen into the fountain.

I wish I wasn't such a coward.
