And we've reached the end! I'm going to do my A/N up here this time. I hope you enjoyed this, and didn't think it was too strange. Thank you so much for reading it all the way through! Have a great day.

Epilogue

"Are you sure you're okay?" Angel asked again.

"I'm fine," Connor said, exasperated.

"Everyone's fine, Angel," Cordy said. "I was barely processed, Connor was barely knocked out, heck, Dawn's even barely grounded!"

"Thanks for help with the explanation," Dawn said as she scribbled a phone number on a scrap of paper. The clarification of how the teenagers had been manipulated and the call from Wesley explaining that Dawn's blood being used in the ritual was the reason she had been able to kill the thing possessing Cordelia had soften Buffy's annoyance.

"Welcome," Cordelia said. "Anyway…" she paused. "Can we..?" She pulled Angel out of the Summers' kitchen and into the hallway.

"About… what we were talking about before the spell and possession things."

"Cordy, I–"

"It doesn't matter." Cordy gave a small smile. "Look, even amnesia me saw what you were like with Buffy. And… I think I was just kind of… swept up. Everyone was talking about it, and we're friends, of course, but… Even if we could possibly make something work, I won't play second fiddle. And I don't think you want me to either."

She gave him a hug, and he returned it.

"So go talk to her before we have to leave," she said as started back towards the kitchen. Angel gave a smile, before heading towards the living room. Buffy looked up, and he saw Spike roll his eyes and slip out of the room.

"Angel."

"Buffy."

She stood up, and Angel wasn't sure what to say.

"Is everyone alright?" she asked him.

He nodded.

"Did…" Buffy paused. "This feels kind of weird to ask, and I get it if she wouldn't want to wait to talk about it, but… Did you figure out what's happening with you and Cordelia yet?"

Angel nodded. "We're friends, but… nothing else is going to happen."

"Good. I mean, not good necessarily. It's not like I can really say good, but… yeah."

There was a moment of silence before Buffy started speaking again.

"I know nothing can really happen with us, but… I don't want something like last year. So… Maybe we can talk more. Even if it's just a little update on the phone or something."

Angel nodded and they smiled at each other.

"Well." The two of them jumped as Spike entered the room. "Sun's down again. I'm off to get some sleep." He gave a casual wave and left.

"He seems to be doing well," Angel said.

Buffy nodded. "Not talking to imaginary people or anything."

Cordelia, Connor and Dawn made their way into the living room, the two teenagers talking to each other.

"Are we ready to go then?" Cordelia asked.

Angel glanced over at Buffy and nodded.

"Make sure you call," Dawn said to Connor as she leaned over to give him a hug. Angel noticed a folded piece of paper sticking out of Connor's pocket.

"Be careful," Buffy said. She leaned up on her tiptoes and gave Angel a peck on the lips.

"You too," he said with a hint of a smile before grabbing his coat off the stair railing and heading towards the door.

As Angel left the house with his son and his best friend by his side, he glanced back, and knew that it wouldn't be the last time he talked with Buffy.

He needed to learn how to use a cell phone anyway.
