Chapter Four: Routine Work

Uraraka had expected to hear something along the lines of assisting Ryukyu setup the new office in Asaka, but she definitely wasn't expecting to hear she needed to actually move there. And while she was willing to do a lot of things for her boss, moving to a different city was not something she had thought about before. She wasn't completely against it, but this was a turn of events she wasn't expecting, so she had her doubts.

"What do you mean moving there?!" Uraraka asked with wide eyes.

"I just told you, I'm opening a new office in Asaka City!" the dragon hero was still smiling.

"Okay, but why would we need to move there?"

Ryukyu sighed, "Uravity, do you think opening a new office is just as simple as hiring some extra heroes?"

Uraraka thought about it for a few seconds, then she raised an eyebrow, "well…yeah. I mean, sure you'll need to oversee operations for a few weeks or a month. But after that it should be all set."

Ryukyu closed her eye and pinched the bridge of her nose, "it's not that simple." She looked back at the gravity girl, "it all depends on the contract you make with the city. In this case they want specific things done so I can't just leave it to someone else." She then pointed a thumb at herself, "my agency's reputation is on the line."

The gravity girl leaned back on her chair, thinking, "to be honest I'm not sure I want to move to Asaka. This is so sudden." She looked at her boss.

Ryukyu smiled, "Well it's a good thing you don't have a choice then." She laughed.

Uraraka sat straight on her chair, "what?! Why not?!"

"Uravity, you're the number one in this agency, well technically number two, but whatever. The thing is, there's certain expectations that come with your position in this agency." The dragon hero lifted a finger, "and right now I expect my number one to accompany me to get this new office up and running and to complete the contract I just signed with the city."

The brown haired girl deflated, slumping down in her chair, "for how long..?"

Ryukyu shrugged, "a year, maybe two. It won't be permanent unless you want it to." She waved a hand in dismissal, "and don't worry about moving expenses. It will all be paid by the agency, so you don't have to worry about any of that stuff."

Uraraka, still slumped on her chair, looked up at the ceiling and exhaled, "well I guess I don't have a choice then." She then looked at her computer screen and noticed she didn't finish filing her report. She sat straight and went back to work, "so, what are we going to be doing there anyway?" She took a quick glance at her boss, "I'm sure they have heroes in Asaka, right?"

The dragon lady nodded, "they do, but they haven't really been able to do their jobs."

Uraraka frowned a little while typing some information on her computer, "what do you mean?"

"It's a smaller city, so they're not highly ranked heroes. I think the highest ranked hero over there is not even in the top 300."

"Oh, ok." Uraraka finished her work and then turned back to her boss, "so are we taking over their duties, teaming up or what?"

Ryukyu looked at her phone, "I'll tell you more while we have lunch. Come on." She waited for Uraraka to grab her phone and they started to walk out of the office. As she walked she turned to one of her top heroes. "Hey, Shadow!" A dark clothed hero with a mask that looked like an Owl looked up from his computer, "me and Uravity are going to lunch. You're in charge until I come back."

"Yes ma'am!" the Owl masked hero went back to work.

The two heroes walked to one of the nearby restaurants that was one of their favorites during lunch. The place was nice, reasonably priced and close to the office. Since they were regular customers at this place there was the added benefit of the staff not overreacting to the presence of the two pro heroes. Customers however, were a different story sometimes.

The bell above the door rang as the two women walked in. "Welcome to Miso Kitchen, how can…Oh! Ryukyu and Uravity! How nice to see you again!" The young hostess greeted with a warm smile, and the two heroes smiled and waved back, "would you like to sit at your usual table? I think it's available."

"Yeah, sure." Ryukyu said with a nod. They followed the hostess to a corner table next to the window. After a waitress arrived and took their order, the two women continue their conversation.

"So like I was saying, we're not taking over the job of the heroes there, and we're not teaming up with them either, well not beyond the normal duty to provide assistance." The dragon hero took a sip of her coffee as Uraraka put some sugar on her own cup, "they have their own job helping people and going after villains."

Uraraka finished stirring her coffee, "right, so what are we going to do?"

"They have some issues with vigilantes that the local heroes can't handle. That's one of the things we're contracted to do."

The gravity girl looked confused, "Pro heroes don't go after vigilantes. They don't fight us, unless we're trying to arrest them." Before Ryukyu could answer she continued, "and besides, they fight villains too, just like us. They're not really dangerous."

Ryukyu sighed, "you're right. Normally pro heroes don't go after vigilantes since the police usually takes care of that, and yes most vigilantes are not really dangerous." She then raised a finger trying to make a point, "but they can dangerous and they operate illegally since they do hero work without a license or proper training."

Uraraka thought about this for a moment while taking a sip of her coffee, "ok, that still doesn't explain why we have to go there and get some vigilantes, or why the heroes there are not taking care of this."

Ryukyu nodded, "ok, here's what's going on. There's a vigilante there, they call him Darkmask. He's been operating for some years without anyone really trying to stop him. The previous city mayor didn't really care since this guy has been taking out all the big villains in the city. And apparently most people there like the guy for the same reasons. But some of the fights got pretty big and intense so some property got destroyed and a number of civilians got hurt over the years." The dragon hero stopped her explanation when the server came back with their food.

"Is everything ok? Would you like more coffee?" the dark haired waitress asked with a smile.

"We're fine, thank you." The dragon hero replied, returning the smile. The waitress nodded and walked away. They two woman started eating.

"So, anyway." Ryukyu continued while digging into her food, "the new city mayor got fed-up with all the property damage and wants this guy gone. But this vigilante, Darkmask, he's apparently pretty strong and when the local heroes tried to go after him…well, let's just say this guy made them look like complete idiots."

Uraraka didn't say anything for a moment, processing all the information while chewing her food, "ok. So this guy is either really strong or these heroes are…" she shrugged, "not really that great."

Ryukyu nodded while chewing as well, "yeah. That pretty much sums it up." She took another bite, "while we're there we can still go after villains but that's not our main job, well at least until we get this Darkmask guy. The heroes there can also assist but like I said, they have their own job to do."

Uraraka shook her head, "I can't believe they'll contract the number 10 hero to go after some vigilante." She thought for a second, "they must really want this guy gone."

Ryukyu shrugged, "to be honest I just saw it as an easy contract." She then smiled, "it shouldn't be too bad." She opened her mouth to say something else but then she saw two teenage girls approaching with an ecstatic looks on their faces.

"Oh my god! Ryukyu and Uravity together! We're like huge fans!" The blond teen said while taking out a notebook, "can I get an autograph? Please?" she held the notebook to the dragon hero with shaky hands.

Ryukyu smiled at the teen, "sure, no problem." While she started signing the other teen pulled out her own notebook and handed it to Uraraka.

"I'm a big fan of most of the heroes from your class, Uravity." The black haired teen smiled while handing the notebook to the gravity girl.

"Oh! That's so nice!" Uraraka said as she took the notebook and started signing, "so you know about the other heroes in my class?"

"Oh yeah! I've been following all heroes in your class since the sports festival way back during your first year." She started digging through her backpack, "I even have a year one poster of your class." The black haired teen pulled out a small poster with all of Uraraka's class 1A students. "It would be so awesome if you could please sign this too."

Uraraka's eyes went wide, "oh my god!" she giggled, "I haven't seen one of these in years." She looked through the poster, which was picture they had taken as a class for the UA sports festival promotion. There was Iida, Kirishima, Jiro, Ashido, Asui and next to Uraraka…Izuku. Uraraka's smile disappeared instantly and her chest suddenly felt tight.

The teen girl didn't notice and continued to talk. "Yes they're very hard to find. I have most of your classmate's autographs actually. I just don't know what happened to this guy here." She pointed to Izuku, "he was so good during the sports festival. Do you know by any chance where he is?" The teen then looked at Uraraka and noticed her pained expression. "Uh…is something wrong?"

Uraraka blinked rapidly trying to prevent the tears she felt were starting to come out. "I…don't know where he is. I'm sorry." She started to sign the poster not making eye contact with the teen.

Ryukyu cleared her throat getting the teens attention, "he had to drop from UA, for…personal reasons. Nobody has seen him since."

The blond teen looked surprised, "really?! I heard that he failed and was kicked out."

Uraraka felt a wave of anger raise within her, "he didn't fail!" she said with a little too much heat in her voice glaring at the teens, making the them a little uncomfortable. After a second she exhaled trying to calm down, looking out the window, "I'm the one that failed him." She said barely above a whisper.

The teens looked at each other not sure of what got into the pro hero. Ryukyu decided this was enough, "okay! Thank you so much for your support! We really appreciate it!" The two teens smiled still somewhat unsettled.

"Thank you! And sorry for interrupting your meal." The blond girl said and started to walk away. The dark haired teen didn't move immediately, looking at Uraraka.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to bring back bad memories." The teen said somewhat sad at Uraraka's demeanor.

The gravity girl turned to her and gave her a sad smile, "no, it's ok. I apologize for the way I reacted."

The teen smiled, "it's okay." She started to turn to walk away, but turned back almost immediately, "you guys are awesome." The two pro heroes smiled at the teen.

"Thank you!" they both said at the same time. The teens finally walked away leaving the heroes alone.

Ryukyu turned back to her friend and eyed her for a moment, "you okay?"

Uraraka sighed, shaking her head slowly looking out the window, "I don't know."

The dragon hero looked at her for a few seconds. "You want to talk about it?"

The gravity girl wiped a single tear, "there's nothing else to say." She then looked at her boss with a sad expression, "I'm still not over it." she shook her head, "I'm still not over him." She looked down closing her eyes, her bottom lip quivering slightly, "and he's still in here." She placed her hand on her heart.

Ryukyu closed her eyes and sighed. Opening her eyes she reached across the table and grabbed Uraraka's free hand. "It's ok, Uraraka. These things take time."

Uraraka breathed in and out, trying hard to get rid of the sob that was making it up her throat, finally succeeding, she continued. "I don't know how much time I'll need, but I think it's going to be a lot."

"You can't be so hard on yourself. You'll just make it worse."

"How much worse can it get?" Uraraka asked finally looking up, tears hanging precariously, "I have all this guilt, this feeling of regret." She swallowed hard, "I miss him so much..." She shook her head, "please tell me this can't get worse."

Ryukyu reached, putting a hand on her friend's cheek, "you have to have hope, Uraraka. Without hope all you have is pain." She removed her hand and grabbed Uraraka's hand again.

The gravity girl exhaled loudly, "I had hope. But every day it slowly washes away with my tears."

"You have to keep it as long as possible. No matter what, don't let go of that hope, okay?" she squeezed the gravity girl's hand to make her point.

Uraraka looked up and wiped the last tears. "Ok…I'll try." She said with a whisper.

It's been a few days since the dragon hero dropped the news of moving to Asaka City to Uraraka. She had started her preparations by calling her parents, which were both sad and excited that their daughter was going places. It wouldn't make a big difference to them since they already lived pretty far from Uraraka, but it would make visiting a little more challenging. She also called her friends from UA. Well, the ones that kept in contact anyway. She had no idea where some of them were but she kept in contact with most of the class. They had been both surprised and supportive, wishing her good luck and making her promise to stay in contact.

The gravity girl was on her part, excited but still somewhat apprehensive about moving to a new city, even if it was only for a year or two. But the idea grew on her like wild grass in the summer, and she got more excited the more she thought about it. She did some search on Asaka and what it was like. She discovered it was about half the size of Musutafu with very little crime or villain activity. That made her search crime statistics and everything related to that topic.

She soon started reading news articles about the vigilante Darkmask and his fights against the established villains there. Older articles from a couple years before talked about a whole group of local villains being defeated by this vigilante. Other articles mentioned a shopping district being heavily damaged during the fights with a number of civilian injuries. The city mayor at the time talked about taking care of this problem, but usually the reporters that wrote the articles voiced their doubts that anyone would go after Darkmask, mostly because he had defeated the most dangerous villains in the city.

There were some pictures and videos recorded by bystanders of the rogue fighter of justice, who seem to wear dark clothes and a dark mask covering his face. He seem pretty adept at fighting, at least from what she could see on the videos, since most were taken from a distance or just showed short glimpses of the fights. She then searched the heroes established there and just like Ryukyu had said, they were all in the mid 300 hero index or higher. Some looked pretty intimidating but their statistics told a different story. Graduates of lesser known hero schools or very poorly performing students of known schools.

Uraraka didn't think of herself as above anyone or that heroes with lower rankings in the hero index were useless or anything like that. On the contrary, she showed great admiration for all heroes and anyone that aspired to be one. But she also knew that there were different levels of skill, power and quirk proficiency, so the fact that a strong vigilante or villain would be too much for the local heroes was something she understood as part of hero work.

"Hey, you know Ryukyu doesn't like it when you stare out the window."

Uraraka was brought back to reality. "Uh? Oh, what's going on, Shadow?"

The dark clothed hero with an Owl mask that was standing next to her cubicle, shrugged. "Nothing. It's being kind of quite in our sector this week, don't you think?"

Uraraka smiled, "yeah, but you know how it is. Sometimes we patrol and don't do much other than arrest a few petty thieves and then some other days, we're fighting for our lives."

Shadow chuckled, "that's true. I'm ready for next week though. I love being on patrol. All this office work is kind of a drag, you know what I mean?"

The gravity girl giggled, "yeah, it can be. I don't mind it though. It's a nice change of pace from always being on patrol. That can also get tiresome after a while."

"Not for me. I'd rather be out there."

Uraraka leaned back on her chair, "yeah, it is fun being on patrol. I like it too." She thought about something, "hey did Ryukyu tell you about the new office in Asaka City?"

Shadow nodded, "yeah, she told me. I'm not going though. I'll stay here to run this office while you guys are over there chasing that vigilante guy."

"Guess that's a promotion for you, right?" Uraraka laughed.

"Ha ha, really funny."

"Sorry. I wasn't trying to make fun of you." Uraraka gave him a small smile.

"I know. I just don't see it as a promotion." Shadow shrugged, "it just means more office work for me."

"You'll be ok, Shadow." She smiled and gave him a thumbs up. She then turned back to her computer, which she had been ignoring for the past 30 minutes.

Shadow chuckled, "yeah, I guess." He paused for a few seconds while Uraraka checked her work emails. "So, Uravity. When are you going to give me a chance to take you out to dinner?"

The gravity girl sighed and smiled without looking at him, "sorry. I already told you. I'm not looking for a relationship right now." It was kind of a lie, but she just didn't want to go out with this guy, or pretty much any of the guys in the office.

Shadow took a quick look at the pictures around Uraraka's desk, then back to her. "Yeah, I get it. Still waiting for Mr. Green, right?"

Uraraka's smile disappeared and she turned to him with a serious expression. She opened her mouth to say something, but the Owl masked hero spoke first.

"Sorry, that was uncalled for." He put his hand in front of him trying to look non-threatening, "I wasn't trying to piss you off."

The gravity girl kept her serious expression on him for a few seconds, "I think you need to go back to work."

Shadow sighed in defeat, "yeah." He started to turn but then turned back to her. "I'm sorry. I wasn't trying to meddle into your personal life or anything like that. Ok?"

The brown haired girl turned back to her work. "yeah, ok." She didn't look at him as he walked away.

Uravity walked into her apartment and threw her keys and phone on the kitchen counter. "Honey! I'm home!" She walked to the fridge and grabbed a water bottle. She took big swing and then put it back on its spot. She then opened the freezer door, "you want anything for dinner?!" she looked around the freezer for her usual frozen microwave meals. She didn't feel like actually cooking today. "There's only microwave stuff, so…" her voice went down in considerably, "…ugh, whatever."

She closed the freezer door, throwing some random meal on the counter, "I need to stop being so silly." The gravity hero said to herself in a low voice. There was nobody else there, just her. But sometimes she liked to pretend there was someone waiting for her. Someone that would greet her with a hug and a loving kiss. Someone that would ask her about her day and share dinner with her. Heck maybe some mini humans would be running to her screaming 'mom's here!' and hug her legs.

But only an empty apartment greeted her. It was a nice two bedroom apartment with relatively nice furniture, but still empty. She sighed and walked to her bedroom, taking her clothes off as she walked. She went into the bathroom and took a long relaxing shower. After she was done, she walked out of her bedroom wearing some grey cotton shorts and an old blue UA shirt. She went straight into the kitchen and poured herself a glass of wine. Before walking out of the kitchen, she grabbed her phone. Uraraka wasn't a big or heavy drinker, but a couple of glasses of wine after work did wonders for her. Wine, however can only go so far.

Walking into her living room she threw herself on the couch, getting comfortable only like a single, young woman in her early twenties living by herself could do. She took a sip of her wine, thinking about what to do next. She looked at the TV. Nope. She looked at her laptop on the table some distance away. Hmm, nah. She looked at her stereo. Hmm, maybe. She looked at her photo book on the table next to the couch. She sighed. No. That would only make her loneliness worse.

She looked out the glass doors that led to her small balcony. Which had a relatively nice view of Musutafu. Taking another sip of her wine, she took a long moment to think. She's been doing this for over three years now. Wash, rinse and repeat. Throw in some sporadic girl's nights out with Ashido, Jiro, Youzaurou and Asui and that was it. Sometimes she would visit her parents or stay the night with Ashido and Kirishima at their place. But most of the time she was either working or spending long nights by herself in her apartment. Her world away from the world.

Her eyes were glazed over after a long moment, looking out the glass doors into the night sky of the city. Thinking of what if's, or her journey to become a hero or…her phone buzzed with a text notification, bringing her back to reality. She blinked a few times and then grabbing her phone she saw it was a text from Jiro. She smiled, taking a sip of her wine, she opened the text.

'Hey, you busy?' Uraraka smiled, thankful for a friendly contact. She and Jiro had become rather close after all the UA nonsense and kept in contact very frequently. Some would say more than most of her other UA class mates. Ashido was a right there too, as the pink girl was never far from a simple call or a last minute visit.

'Nah. What's up?'

'Girl, can I come over, please?'

Uraraka blinked a few times, 'Of course, Kyoka!'

'Cool, on my way.' After a few seconds she texted again, 'Did you had dinner? I can bring some over.' Uraraka thought about it. Jiro would probably bring take out, which was way better than some microwave meal.

'No, I haven't.'

'Great. I'll bring some.'

'The usual, right?'

'Yes.' Uraraka smiled. She wasn't expecting company but a friend coming over was a welcome distraction. Especially after her evening was starting to look like another lonely one. She looked around her apartment. It was good. She wasn't a slob and so she kept it tidy and clean. She just relaxed and waited for her friend. After about 30 minutes her door bell went off. She smiled and walked to the door.

"Hey, stranger…" Uraraka stopped after seeing Jiro's demeanor. "Uh, come in." she noticed that in addition of the food paper bag, her friend had a small travel bag with her, but she decided not to ask.

Jiro shrugged, "Sorry for the last minute visit. I just…need a friendly face."

The gravity girl smiled. "Of course, Kyoka. You know I love to have you over." Uraraka stepped aside making way for Jiro to walk in and then took her bags from her. "Here, I got it. You want to eat now or…"

"Nah, we can eat later. I brought some wine too." She said with a tiny smile pulling a wine bottle out of one of the bags.

Uraraka smiled wide, "Now were talking, girl!" They went to the kitchen and Uraraka poured her friend a glass of wine, which Jiro promptly downed in a single swing. Uraraka blinked a few times before pouring another. They both walked to the living room and sat on Uraraka's big couch. The gravity hero sat facing her friend while Jiro sat sitting forward. After a few seconds Uraraka started.

"Come on, talk to me."

Jiro shrugged, "I don't know, it's just..." she paused for a moment.

Uraraka rolled her eyes, "Kyoka, you're the one usually helping me with my emotional baggage. What happened?"

Jiro exhaled loudly, "we had a fight." She shook her head, "I don't know if I'm making a big deal out of it, but…" she took a sip of her wine.

The gravity hero looked at her for a second, "what? Did Kaminari make another stupid joke about your cooking?"

The sound quirk hero shook her head, "no." she looked at her friend. "But it's true though. I can't cook to save my life."

"I couldn't either. I just learned after I graduated because, well I had to. I wasn't going to eat take out every night." The brown haired woman laughed a little at her comment.

Jiro chuckled at Uraraka's comment then looked forward with a thoughtful expression. "No, he didn't make fun of my lack of culinary skills." She looked down frowning. "He…tried to be funny about my boobs."

Uraraka grimaced and looked away. "Wow, ok" She knew Jiro had insecurities about her body and always felt very self-conscious about it during their time in UA. Anytime they went to the beach or a pool, Jiro would cover her lower half with a towel or sheepishly stand behind her female classmates. Heck, anytime someone would complement her appearance, she would blast them with her quirk. To have her own boyfriend make fun of her body, was surely a very hurting experience for her friend.

"What did he say?" the gravity hero asked with some hesitation.

Jiro sneered looking out the glass doors, "he said my boobs were like mosquito bites."

Uraraka's eyes went wide, "no…he didn't say that."

The purple haired woman nodded, her frowning becoming more prominent. "Yeah, he did." She leaned back on the couch and took a sip of her drink. "We were out walking on the park close to our apartment. It was getting dark and mosquitoes started to come out and I guess I got bitten as we walked back. When we made it back to the apartment I said something about it and he went 'mosquito bites, just like your boobs!' and I just completely lost it."

The gravity girl just shook her head slowly, "man, I know Kaminari can be an idiot sometimes, but…"

Jiro stood up in a second, "he's a fucking jerk! That's what he is!" Jiro looked at her friend with a very angry expression. "Sometimes I wonder why the fuck I'm still with his sorry ass!" she threw her arms up in frustration as she started pacing in front of the couch. "How can he say something like that to my god damn face!?"

Uraraka got tense as she looked at her friend's angry outburst. Jiro was known to get angry very easily depending on the situation, but today was probably one of the worst. But knowing Jiro, she just let her get it out of her system, at least for a few minutes.

"He always thinks he's so fucking funny!" Jiro started mocking his voice and mimicking his mannerisms, "Ha ha, you can't even use the oven to boil water, UGH! I should've punched him in the face!"

"Oh god! Did you?!" Uraraka wouldn't put it past Jiro to do something like that.

"What?! No! ...I don't know…maybe." the sound quirk hero was thrown off her angry tantrum by the question. "I just…everything was a blur honestly. I just, kind of went nuts." She somehow calmed down, thinking about what she didn't remember doing.

Uraraka kept looking at her friend as she now paced in front of her, silently brooding about the issue. She knew Jiro and Kaminari loved each other to pieces, and she, like everyone else, knew the blond guy could be a total idiot sometimes. But this somehow didn't seem like something he would say. Kaminari had always loved how Jiro looked in pretty much anything she wore.

"Were you guys drinking?" Uraraka finally asked after seeing her friend calm down a little.

"Uh? Yeah, he had a couple drinks before going for a walk."

The gravity hero shrugged, "well maybe that's it. You know Kaminari turns into a total doofus when he drinks."

Jiro finally stopped and sighed, "he wasn't drunk though." She covered her eyes with one hand, finally coming down from her infuriated show.

Uraraka stood up, wrapping her arms around her friend, "hey, it's ok. You know he loves you, right?"

The sound quirk hero returned the embrace burying her face on Uraraka's shoulder, "I know. But how can he say stupid shit like that about my body?"

The brown haired woman shrugged as they slowly broke their embrace, "I don't know, Kyoka. I honestly can't imagine him saying something like that. He always loved your looks."

Jiro chuckled, "yeah, he can be a pervert too."

"Well, to be honest, Kyoka, I always found your insecurities about your body kind of baffling." She gave her a small smile, "I'm not into girls, but I always thought you looked great."

"Oh, thank you! You always know how to cheer me up!" Jiro threw her arms around her friend once again.

Uraraka smiled, "well it's true." They broke their embrace and sat back down, both taking a sip of their wine.

Jiro took a deep cleansing breath, "thanks, Ochaco. I really needed this."

The gravity hero nodded, "sure, no problem." She looked towards the city lights, "besides, at least you have someone to get mad at. I'm all alone in here."

Jiro's smile lost its luster, "yeah, sorry." She took another sip of her wine. "You'll find someone. Hey! what about that guy in your agency that keeps asking you out? What's his name? Shame, Shallow…" she stopped when Uraraka exploded into a laughing fit. Jiro soon joined into the laughter as well.

"…His name…is Shadow… oh god…" Was all the gravity hero could say while holding her stomach in laughter. She finally wiped a tear from her eye. "That was…oh man, that was classic!"

Jiro stopped laughing and shook her head in amusement, "yeah, I didn't remember the guy's name. So anyway…"

"No!" Uraraka chuckled and shook her head, "I don't like the guy, not like that anyway."

"Wow, that was fast."

"Meh, he's a good guy. But no, I don't like any of the guys in my agency." Uraraka said while downing the rest of her wine.

Jiro gave her friend a once over thinking about her response. She knew that Uraraka wasn't over Izuku. Not by a long shot, judging by the photo book sitting on the table nearby that she knew for a fact was filled with pictures from their time at UA. Uraraka probably spent plenty of time looking at it. But she always tried to talk to her about dating so today wasn't an exception. Uraraka always rejected the idea and she wasn't sure that was a good thing. But she decided to drop the topic and focus on her reason to visit.

"Hey, so is it cool if I stay the night?" she played with her ear jacks, "I'm not really feeling like going back, at least not tonight."

Uraraka beamed, "of course! You know you can stay. I need the company anyway."

"Thanks, Ochaco." Jiro stood up and took her friend's cup. "More wine?" Uraraka nodded and she started walking to the kitchen, "so tell me about this move to Asaka."

That started a whole new conversation that went for an hour before the two almost drunk friends finally remembered they had dinner waiting in the kitchen. While eating, they continued to chat about life and other random topics before sleepiness and tiredness got to them, so both headed to bed. Uraraka had a spare bedroom, and she was glad to let any of her friends stay the night. It helped with her loneliness, even if it was for just one night.

Uraraka logged into her work computer, getting ready to start the day. As the workstation ran its login actions, the gravity hero stood up and went to the break room to get herself some coffee, saying hi to the other heroes already at their desks or the ones walking through the door. It was almost the end of the week and she was mentally ready to switch back to doing patrols. Ryukyu maintained a schedule of a week on patrol followed be a week at the office to serve as backups and doing office work, like filing reports, attending meetings and gathering information through the different networks available to them.

The gravity girl actually like this schedule because it allowed her to completely concentrate on what she was doing. When she was on patrol, she didn't have to worry about going back to the office to do a bunch of paperwork. And when she was at the office she could do as much office work as she could without having to worry about putting hours on the streets. Other hero agencies had their heroes out on patrol most of the day, followed by some hours doing paperwork. Uraraka had done that and she didn't like it.

Today however, was looking up to be a slow day. She had caught up with all her office work and didn't really had any real work on her agenda other than reading all her emails. Which would be in the dozens, or more, but that was easy stuff for her. After that, she was planning on doing some more research about Asaka city. As she got started with her emails a familiar blond hero appeared on her peripheral vision.

"Moring, Uravity." Ryukyu greeted with a smile, then glancing down at Uraraka's desk, "already drinking coffee? Man, you can't live without that stuff."

The gravity hero turned her chair to her boss, smiling back, "Morning." She shrugged, "I wasn't big on drinking coffee until after graduation. Now it's part of my morning routine." She took a sip of her coffee, "So, what's new?"

Ryukyu leaned against the wall next to Uraraka, "Three more weeks and we'll be in Asaka. Are you ready?"

Uraraka nodded, "Yeah, pretty much. I don't have a lot of stuff so it should be easy."

"Good." She looked at her phone after receiving a text, "Oh, almost forgot. The two new heroes I hired will be here today."

"Already? She looked at her calendar on the wall, "Man, where does time goes? I thought they wouldn't be here for another week."

Ryukyu shook her head, "Nope, they'll be here today. Oh and so you know, I'll be assigning one to you."

Uraraka pressed her lips into a thin line, "Hmm, my first hero trainee?"

"Yes. Don't worry, I know you're ready."

The gravity hero exhaled, "well, it was bound to happen sooner or later." She thought for a moment, "What do I have to do?"

Ryukyu shrugged, "take them with you on patrol so they get familiarized with our sector, explain how things are done here at the office, how to file reports, that sort of thing. Just like when you started working here."

Uraraka leaned back on her chair in thought for a second, "Hmm, that doesn't sound too bad. I'm should be quick if they had good internships."

"Yeah, maybe." Ryukyu turned to see one of her heroes approaching her, "What's up, Shadow?"

"Ma'am, the two new heroes you hired are here."

Ryukyu turned to the office entrance and saw the two new heroes standing there waiting. "Alright, take them to the conference room." Shadow nodded and walked away.

"Well, time to talk with the rookies." She started to walk away.

Uraraka shifter her gaze towards the newcomers at the entrance. A girl with blond hair wearing a blue, skintight suit and a guy wearing a black motorcycle style jacket. He also wore a mask that covered the top half of his face. She saw Shadow direct them towards the conference room. As they two new heroes turned to follow the Owl masked hero, she then saw the new guy had green hair.

The gravity hero stood up like she was electrocuted, her eyes wide and her heart beating hard in her chest. "No…it can't be…"
