Chapter Six: Encounters
Defeat, and frustration. Words that every pro hero got to experience in their careers, more than once in the case of the top heroes. Frequently, for the ones climbing up the hero ladder, trying to be in the top ten. No hero was perfect, therefor no hero had a perfect record of achievements, not even All Might. Too many villains, too many quirks and too many scenarios to be able to come up on top in every situation.
Every fight with a villain was full of uncertainty and risks. Heroes trained the best they could, they tried their best to adapt to each situation, but there were many rules they needed to follow. Villains didn't follow any rules. They were free to do as they pleased. So, most of the time the odds were stacked against heroes.
Vigilantes were a whole different thing. They were pseudo-heroes always straddling the left and right side of the law. Fighting against villains while breaking the law themselves. Helping the police and citizens, while also using their quirks against anyone that tried to arrest them. But they were mostly a ragtag bunch of brawlers, copycats and wannabes. Mostly.
Which is why pro heroes didn't go after them. That was a job for the police. And that was also why, this particular setback…felt. Like. Shit. To be a pro hero and lose a fight against a vigilante, was borderline insulting. It took the feeling of defeat and frustration to a whole new level. And that is how Uraraka was feeling right now, while also dealing with a disappointed dragon hero.
"So, you're telling me that three pro heroes, one of which is the top in my agency, couldn't handle one lonely vigilante." It wasn't really a question. Mostly a statement to help drive the seriousness of the situation to the gravity hero sitting in front of Ryukyu's desk.
Uraraka didn't like to disappoint her boss, and she didn't like the look she was getting. Not an angry or even a frustrated look. Just a look that said 'I expected more from you'. The gravity hero just maintained a neutral expression. "Yeah, pretty much." she stood up and walked around Ryukyu's office and continue talking about what happened. "Look, I take responsibility for this. I made a tactical mistake and just jumped into the fight without thinking."
She then stopped and looking at her boss, "but I'm telling you, this guy is strong. He moved fast and controlled the fight from the beginning." She then looked a little nervous, "maybe, we should think of getting some extra help. I know that's not what you want to hear but- "
"No."
"uh?" Uraraka felt a little confused at Ryukyu's sudden answer.
"We can ask some of the locals if they want to keep patrolling with us since they don't seem to mind, but I'm not asking for 'outside' help into this case." The dragon hero said with a serious tone.
Uraraka raised an eyebrow, "why not?"
"Because my agency got hired to capture a vigilante, which is basically unheard of. Can you imagine the damage to my reputation if I go around asking for outside help to get this guy?" The dragon hero shook her head, "it's us and the locals. That's it."
The gravity hero exhaled loudly, "But after what I saw I think it's going to be kind of difficult."
Ryukyu leaned back on her chair, "what? You don't think Bound and Psytempest are good enough?"
Uraraka sat back down and crossed her arms, "Bound is strong, but he's too big. He doesn't have the speed. And just like me, he needs to get close to the target." She then thought for a moment, "Psytempest is pretty strong too, but her telekinesis doesn't work on living things so she has to use the environment. I don't know about her fighting capabilities or agility but being that she's a new hero without any experience it probably won't' make too much of a difference."
The dragon hero thought for a second, "what about Longwhip? He seems pretty interested in doing joint patrols with us."
The gravity hero scrunched her lips and looked down for a moment, "I haven't seen Longwhip in action. I know his quirk allows him to turn his arms into long whips with great range, but I don't know how good he's in a fight."
There was a long silence as the dragon hero thought about the options that didn't include flushing her agency's reputation down the toilet. Finally, she exhaled loudly, "You need to work with what is available right now. You can't always run to the nearest hero agency and beg for help." Uraraka opened her mouth to say something but Ryukyu continued, "However, I would get involved the next time you run into him. Not because I don't think you can't handle it, but because I want to see this guy in action myself."
Uraraka gave her boss a small smile, "and maybe because this place is too boring for you?"
Ryukyu smiled and nodded her head, "yeah, this place is way too boring for me." She shrugged her shoulders, "I think it would be fun to be back out there for a bit." She then sighed and stood up, "get out of here. You're off tomorrow and I'm done looking at your frustrated face."
The gravity hero smiled and stood up. As she put her hand on the door knob, she felt Ryukyu's hand on her shoulder. She turned around to see her boss giving her a side smile. "Don't think about this too much Uravity. I know you are a great and capable hero, so don't feel too bad for making a mistake and losing a small fight, ok?"
Uraraka smiled back, "thanks Ryukyu. I'll keep that in mind"
The dragon hero playfully pushed her subordinate out the door, "and make sure you go out and have some fun. I'm tired of hearing about you drinking wine by your lonely self."
Uraraka acted offended, "what? Me drinking alcohol in solitude? I don't know where you got that idea." Both heroes laughed and waved good bye to each other.

After changing out of her hero costume and into her normal clothes, Uraraka took a short train ride back to her apartment. Opening the door and walking in, she fought the urge to call out to some imaginary boyfriend or…husband. As she turned to close the door, she noticed a colorful brochure on the floor. Picking it up she noticed it was like one of those restaurant menus that were pushed under the door sometimes, but it wasn't for a restaurant, it was for a recently opened club in her neighborhood.
Taking a quick glance at the glossy club promotion that read Neon Club, she dropped it on her kitchen counter along with her phone and keys. She walked into her bedroom, took a shower and came back to the kitchen to pour herself a glass of wine. She walked out into the balcony of her new apartment, avoiding some of the unpacked boxes that still littered her living room. She'll get back to those some other day.
Stepping to the railing, she felt the cool evening breeze caress her hair gently. Taking a long sip of her wine she looked down the streets of Asaka from her balcony. It was early in the evening and people were moving about, the sounds of traffic and people chatter barely reached her ears but she could hear it anyway. She could see some restaurants with tables outside, people filling almost all of them. The streets were busy with activity and it seemed that even if Asaka was smaller than Musutafu there was a fairly decent night life here.
After a long moment of standing there she thought about Ryukyu's advice. Going out was probably a good idea and she did feel like hanging out for a little bit. Except, she was in a different city and all her friends were somewhere else, hours away. She huffed in frustration. She could call her boss, but outside of lunch they almost never hanged out. It was better to keep things professional. But that was back in Musutafu where Uraraka had all her friends. Here, all they had was each other.
"Hmm, maybe I should call Sai." She chuckled to herself. It still felt weird to call Psytempest by her first name, but she wasn't going to call her apprentice by her hero name if they were out in a more sociable environment. After a few minutes of thinking she remembered the club promotion she left in the kitchen.
She drank the rest of her wine in one quick chug and walked back into her kitchen. While scanning over the club promotion she grabbed her phone and called her hero trainee. After a few rings Psytempest picked up.
"Yellow, Blue is this!"
Uraraka exhaled closing her eyes, "Really, Sai?" she could hear laughter on the other end.
"Hey, Uraraka! What's up?"
"Ah, nothing. What are you doing?"
"Meh, nothing really. Want to come over and watch a movie or something."
Uraraka smiled, "actually I wanted to see if you wanted to go out and have a drink. There's a new club in my neighborhood, so I figure we could go and check it out." She could practically feel Sai's excitement on the other end.
"Oh hell yeah! What time?"
The gravity hero's smile grew wider, "I still have to get dressed, so let's say half an hour?"
"Sure! Want to meet at your place?"
Uraraka shrugged her shoulders even though Sai couldn't see it, "Actually, I'll meet you in front of your building since you don't live far from me. Ok?"
"All right! I'll see you in a bit!"
"See you." Uraraka smiled while ending the call as she walked into her bedroom. She wasn't planning to go out before but sometimes last-minute plans were the best.

As night fell on Asaka, a dark figure scanned his surroundings from a rooftop. He had gone out to gather some information from a low-level criminal. After walking around some dark alleys towards the meeting place, he felt something was wrong, which made him jump to the rooftop. He couldn't see anything suspicious, but he still couldn't shake the feeling that he was being watched.
Years of vigilante work had taught him to be extra careful when meeting anyone he didn't really know, and even then, you never knew when someone would turn on you. After a few minutes of looking around and seeing nothing he decided to use one of his favorite tricks to expose hidden stalkers. He quickly dashed from rooftop to rooftop faking an escape attempt in hopes of making anyone following him think they got discovered.
After leaping towards five different buildings, he stopped and quickly turned around scanning for any movement. Sure enough, he saw two shadows quickly attempting to hide. He smiled, satisfied that his hunch was correct. He stood straight putting his hand on his hips.
"I know you're there! If you want a fight, you came to the right place." For a few moments nothing happened. He was about to say something, when the two figures appeared on the neighboring rooftop. He tried to decipher who they were, but couldn't due to the lack of light. The two figures walked to the edge and in turn he did the same.
"Who the fuck are you guys and what do you want?" Darkmask said in an irritated voice.
"You heard that, Axekill? The fake hero is pissed." The other figure chuckled but didn't say anything.
Darkmask sighed in frustration, "I should've known the League would send their lap dogs after me sooner or later."
"Lap dogs? You know we're bigger than you, right?" the figure, who Darkmask suspected was a villain called Knifehand, said in an annoyed voice. Darkmask knew of these two lower level members of the League. They worked together and since he already knew one was Axekill, he could safely guess who the other one was.
"You may be big on physical size, but you two are just lap dogs for the actual big dogs of the League." Darkmask chuckled, "nothing more, nothing less." He was trying to rile those two up, but in reality, Darkmask knew those two were pretty dangerous, even if they weren't part of the inner circle of the League of Villains.
"Hmm, you know, just for that, I think I'll at least cut one of your arms off." The figure on vigilante's left said and then he quickly launched at the rogue justice fighter, just like Darkmask had wanted. He presumed it was Axekill since his quirk was to turn his forearms into battle axes, therefore needing to be up close to his opponent.
Quickly Darkmask punch in front of him sending a concentrated blast of air towards Axekill, sending him crashing back towards his original spot. He quickly got ready for the opponent on his right, Knifehand, who could shoot blades out of his palms, giving him the range advantage. As predicted, a barrage of knives flew towards him as he cartwheeled right, then stopping and sending another wave of pressurize air toward the knife shooter.
This stopped the knife barrage, but didn't really knocked the villain down. Darkmask decided that a close-range fight was probably better, so he quickly bounded towards Knifehand. He knew Axekill would be about ready to strike, so he needed to neutralize the villain with the range advantage. As he landed a flying kick to Knifehand's chest he was surprised that the villain actually caught his kick, trapping his foot.
Darkmask quickly flipped his body backwards, landing a kick to the face with his other foot, sending Knifehand flying back to the other side of the roof. The vigilante felt the air around him shift, so he jumped high, narrowly avoiding Axekill's attack that hit the roof instead. As Darkmask descended, he got ready to land a vicious kick to his opponent's head. But never got the chance as Axekill quickly looked up and punched Darkmask with his other arm, sending the vigilante towards the other rooftop.
The rogue warrior crashed on the rooftop, but quickly turned with one knee down. He winced in pain. Axekill's punch had hit him straight on the chest with good force. Nothing was broken, but he needed to be careful if he wanted to stay in one piece. From the other rooftop he could see Axekill standing straight and laughing as Knifehand walked up and stood next to his teammate.
"I thought you're were supposed to be some type of bad ass vigilante." The villain lifted both arms to his sides, "Is this all you got?!"
Darkmask closed his eyes and exhaled. He opened his eyes and grinned behind his dark Kabuki mask. Finally, a couple of villains that would give him a good fight and were part of the League.

Uraraka walked into the club with Sai right next to her. She was wearing white Scalloped Off Shoulder Blouse and dark blue slacks. Sai was a little more exposed, wearing a tight, black and white striped long sleeve shirt, tucked into a flowy, white mini skirt. Both were wearing black medium heels. The place was full of people but it wasn't packed to the limit. There was a nice vibe to this place. The music wasn't too loud, but it was loud enough for patrons to enjoy while dancing. Neon lights were all over the roof, walls and bar giving the place a nice retro style.
Uraraka looked to the right and saw the dance floor, surrounded by tables were people were in groups having livelily conversations. On the periphery, booths lined up the walls with more people chatting, smiling or moving to the rhythm of the music. Directly in front of her were more table followed by the bar. Some of the tables were empty but most were occupied. The bar was about half full and seem like the quietest place here. Not feeling like dancing or taking a table, Uraraka made a beeline to the bar, dead set on just wasting time on useless chitchat and alcohol consumption.
As both pro heroes made it to the bar, they quickly ordered some drinks, which arrived promptly, just like Uraraka wanted. After taking in the club's atmosphere the two coworkers quickly engage in random topics that ranged from work to the best places to shop for underwear. The alcohol kept coming, but not at a fast place. After all, Uraraka wasn't planning on getting wasted, not on her first night out in Asaka.
But after a good while both were starting to feel happy and social. Uraraka wasn't drunk, but she could feel her cheeks getting warmer and a smile was on her face that seemed that it wasn't going anywhere. Sai wasn't doing much better.
"I'm telling you, Uraraka. A lot of girls in my class looked up to you for inspiration." Sai said with a little volume in her voice without being annoying since the music was playing non-stop. After taking a sip of her drink she continued. "You, are a great hero and an inspiration to others like me."
The gravity hero laughed, her normal, permanent blush getting a little more pronounced, "I don't see why. I only graduated three years ago, you know?"
"I know. But in three years you not only managed to be the top in your agency, but the 25th in the national hero index." She poked her boss in the shoulder lightly, "that is pretty impressive and you should be proud of it."
The gravity hero smiled a little more and nodded her head. She then looked sideways at her coworker, "thanks, Sai. Sometimes I don't pay attention to how others see me as a hero."
Sai smiled with shiny eyes and nodded her head in understanding. She then looked around as if about to share a great secret, "You want to know something?" Uraraka looked at her with an alcohol induced smile and nodded. "I had a bunch of posters of you in my room back at UA." The gravity hero's smile faltered for a bit.
"Really?!"
Sai smiled wider and nodded her head, "yep! I'm an unapologetic Uravity fan!" They both had a good laugh at the telekinesis hero nerdy confession.
"You really need to stop kissing my ass, Sai." Uraraka said while laughing.
Psytempest got a little offended, "Hey! I'm being serious! You are a great hero and a lot of the girls in my class wanted to be just like you!"
"Ok, ok, I get it." Uraraka stopped laughing and looked at her coworker, "thanks, Sai. It's a little weird to hear about how others see me as a hero, but it does feel good to know that others take inspiration from you."
Sai nodded her head with a little more serious expression, "you deserve it Uraraka, you're great." She then thought for a moment, "So, where did you get your inspiration from? Was there anyone that gave you strength to push yourself so hard?"
Uraraka's smile disappeared in an instant as she looked down at her drink, "Umm…there was, someone..."
Sai, raised an eyebrow and a side smile, "does that someone had a name?"
Uraraka stayed silent for a few seconds, after closing her eyes she sighed, "Izuku Midoriya."
The telekinesis hero squinted her eyes slightly. Midoriya, that name sounded familiar. She was sure she heard about it back at UA. Her eyes then went wide, "Wait! I heard about him! He's the student that went- "
"I don't want to talk about it."
Sai blinked a few times at her coworker's change in demeanor. She had noticed a similar response from her boss when she asked about her relationships or the photos around her desk. 'Oh shit', she thought. Those pictures on her desk, now it made sense why she was so evasive. 'That must be that Midoriya guy. I wonder what happened.' Deciding this wasn't a good time to touch on that subjects she went in a different direction.
"Sure! Anyway, what was you reason to be a hero? I can totally picture you being one of those heroes at heart that dreamt of saving people."
Uraraka kept looking at her drink, tracing her index finger around the edge of the glass. After a long moment she responded. "Sai, I actually don't have a very heroic reason to be a hero."
Sai tilted her head sideways in a cute, curious way, "what do you mean?"
The gravity hero exhaled loudly and then turned to look at her coworker in the eyes, "I became a hero for the money." Short and straight to the point.
The telekinesis hero blinked a few times, looked down at the drink and then back at her boss, "what?"
Uraraka looked back at her drink, and continued to trace a finger around the rim of the glass. "When I first decided to become a hero, I did it because I wanted to make money and help my parents." She stayed silent for a few seconds, "my parents didn't have a lot of money, but they did their best to make sure I could make it to UA." She sighed at the memory, "I, in turn, did my best to become a hero so I could make a lot of money and help them have an easier life." After a moment of silence, Uraraka looked at her companion, "I know that is not a very heroic-"
"That…is such a selfless reason to become a hero!" Sai interrupted her boss with nothing but inspiration in her eyes, "you went through all the troubles and dangers of pro hero work to make sure your parents have a better life." The telekinesis hero shook her head looking down on her drink, "all of the sudden I feel like my reasons are lame in comparison."
Uraraka didn't feel like she had earned that praise. Sure, she had helped her parents immensely in the three years she had been doing hero work, and her parents were doing so much better because of it. But Sai didn't know how far she had taken her decision to become a hero above anything else. How she had rejected, and hurt people around her in the pursuit of one specific goal. How she had pushed the love of her life out of her life, in a rather physical and angry way. How she had to beg others for forgiveness due to the guilt she felt. Sure, she regrated those decisions, but the heavy feeling in her heart, while slightly less intense, was still there.
After a few moments of silence, the gravity hero turned to her companion, "so what is your reason to be a hero?" Uraraka took a sip of her drink and then added, "did you wanted to be famous or something?" she laughed at her own comment.
Sai raised an eyebrow at her boss, "what? No! why would you say that?"
Uraraka shrugged, "You seem to love the attention and you're always so bubbly and happy around others. It gives me the impression you want to be noticed." She then realized how her comment came across as criticism, "I mean, not that there's anything wrong with that! Lots of other heroes do it for fame, like Mt. Lady. I mean look at me! I'm doing for the money for crying out loud!" She nervously chuckled.
The telekinesis hero sighed loudly with a small smile, "I was saved by a hero when I was in my third year of middle school." She turned to her boss, "his name was Myoptik."
"Huh? Myoptik? You mean like the eye condition?"
The telekinesis hero tilted her head back while laughing, "no, that's Myopic. His name was Myoptik."
Uraraka chuckled, "Ok, I never heard of him."
Sai looked down on her drink, her smile losing some of its luster, "he was a fairly new hero. He's…not around anymore."
Uraraka tilted her head slightly at her companion's words, "What happened?"
The blond girl stayed silent for a few moments, her eyes getting suspiciously shiny, "I was attacked one night by a couple of thugs while walking back home after visiting a friend from school." She swallowed hard at the memory, "they hit me a couple of times and I felt like I was going to lose consciousness. They took my phone and purse and then one of them started to…" she closed her eyes for a second before continuing, "…run his hands over my body."
Uraraka's eyes got slightly wider, surprised that her coworker had gone through something like that. The telekinesis hero continued, "before they could do anything else, all of the sudden they were hit with a red beam of light and they were paralyzed, like statues. When I noticed they weren't moving, I heard someone approaching and when I looked to the side, I saw him." She then looked at her boss with a wide smile.
"He wasn't too tall but he looked amazing. He was wearing this white hero costume with a golden cape, a golden spartan looking helmet and gold trim on his arms and legs." She then turned back to her drink with the same smile, "after he secured the thugs, he looked at me with a wide smile and made sure I was ok before calling the police." Sai turned her smiling gaze back to Uraraka, "It was such a sight. This guy literally showed up out of nowhere and saved me. It was then and there I realized I wanted to be just like him."
Uraraka nodded her head with a small smile, "I'm so glad someone helped you out of that situation, Sai." She then sighed, "so after that you decided to become a hero to save people, right?"
Sai smiled wider and raised a finger, "I decided to become a hero to save people with a smile, just like Myoptik did for me. After such a scary experience, seen someone approach you with a smile made me immediately feel safe."
Uraraka's smile disappeared and her eyes went wide. That sounded exactly like Izuku's reason to be a hero. In the second it took for her to realize this, Sai noticed Uraraka's change in demeanor, "hey, are you ok? Did I say something wrong?"
The gravity hero blinked a few times and then gave Sai a forced smile, "What? No! It's just…I suddenly realized your reasons to be a hero are so noble." Quickly deciding it was better to get back to the original conversation, Uraraka continued, "so what happened to Myoptik? Why is he not a hero anymore?" Uraraka had a feeling she wasn't going to like the answer to her question.
Sai's smile disappeared, "he got killed after he was ambushed by two villains a month after he rescued me."
The gravity closed her eyes, feeling sad that a new hero met such a premature demise. "Damn, that's sad. Did the villains get caught?" She wondered why she didn't remember hearing about this before, but then again it probably happened in another city.
The telekinesis hero looked down to her drink and shook her head, "No. All I saw in the news afterwards was that one of the villains that attacked him had some type of battle axe quirk."
Uraraka shook her head and then proceeded to down the rest of her drink, "that's too bad." She then ordered another round of drinks and decided to make a toast to the downed hero. Passing one of the drinks to Sai, she then raised her own, "To Myoptik, the hero that saved an awesome girl that became a hero as well." The telekinesis hero's eyes got a little wet, but she smiled nonetheless as she raised her drink, gently bumping it against Uraraka's glass.
After a short moment of silence, the two heroes continued to talk about happier topics and their plans for the future. As they were finishing their last drink, Uraraka was feeling pretty tipsy, the warm feeling on her cheeks was spreading and her speech was starting to get slurred. The gravity hero downed the rest of her drink and she then put her empty glass down somewhat loudly, "Alright, time to get out of here. You want to get something to eat? I'm feeling kind of hungry." She snickered for no reason.
Sai blinked slowly at her boss with a blush that was obviously a result of the alcohol in her body, "Are you taking me out to dinner? I'm not that kind of girl, you know?" The two heroes looked at each other for a few seconds then started laughing as they stood up from their seats at the bar. After paying their bar tab, they started walking towards the door. Immediately it became obvious that the telekinesis hero needed at least some type of assistance walking. They weren't really drunk, not if you asked them anyway. But the telekinesis hero thought that the whole thing was kind of silly as she giggled and leaned on her boss for support.
Uraraka snickered at her hero trainee's questionable motor skills as she threw an arm around her companion's shoulder for support, even though she wasn't doing much better. "Hang in there, big girl. I think there's a noodle stand not too far from here."
"Who are you calling big girl? I'm like 20 pounds lighter than you!"
The gravity hero laughed, "hey, let's not go there, ok? I still fit in my UA uniform." She let out a loud laugh that got the attention of most of the people in the club as she stumbled to the side a little.
Sai looked offended, "who told you I don't fit in my uniform anymore?"
Uraraka looked at her friend with alcohol induced blush and wide eyes, "What?! Nobody!"
Sai's eyes went wide as she looked at her boss. After a couple of seconds of eye contact, they both let out a stupidly hilarious laugh that made those around them chuckle as the two heroes made their way out the door.

Darkmask felt he was worried for nothing. Sure, the two villains were pretty strong and had that killer instinct that gave most serious villains a scary vibe to their personalities. As a matter of fact, Darkmask knew these two had killed people before and may had killed a couple of unsuspecting heroes in the past. But as he held Knifehand's broken body by the back of his neck over the edge of the roof, he couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment. Even if nobody would know about this fight and the type of villain he took out of the streets, he knew society would be better off without this type of murderous scum out on the loose.
"God damn you, fake hero!" the venom in his voice was palpable. "Let him go before I remove your arms and legs from your body!" The frustrated voice of Axekill came out loud and clear as the villain breathed hard.
Darkmask chuckled, "Very poor choice of words." He smiled behind his kabuki mask as he let go of Knifehand's limp and bloodied body, which disappeared in the dark space between buildings.
Axekill eyes went wide. They were at least five floors up. A fall from this height could be deadly, unless you had some type of resilient quirk. Which, Knifehand didn't, and he was unconscious anyway. "You motherfucker! I'll kill you!" The villain said as he jumped forward with everything he had.
Darkmask smiled wider under his mask as he got in a fighting stance, "You can try."

"That, was one of the best Udon noodles I had in my life!" a tipsy Sai said as the two young heroes walked down some fairly empty streets. She was still leaning on her boss for support, since she didn't trust herself at the moment.
"Ah, yeah. Sometimes, those street food stands are the best." A slightly better, but not really, Uraraka said as she helped the telekinesis hero stay on her two feet after finishing their two bowls of Udon noodles that tasted, in their tipsy opinion, too damn good. As they continued to walk, the two were startled when there was a very loud crash noise as something fell on top of a closed trash container on an alleyway a short distance ahead of them.
"What the hell was that?!" Sai said in a surprised voice as they wobblingly stopped on their tracks.
"I don't know, but it was pretty loud."
After a few seconds of waiting, they both started walking slowly to where the noise came from. As they reached the alleyway on their right, they saw something on the ground. Uraraka narrowed her eyes trying to figure out what that thing was. As they carefully got closer, the gravity hero's eyes went wide, "That's a person." She looked up with trepidation, "He…he fell?"
"Damn, He's all messed up!" Psytempest said as she almost lost her balance. "What are we going to do?"
The brown-haired girl took a closer look at the man's condition. His face was covered in blood and his body looked like he was beaten pretty bad, or was that because of the fall? Uraraka knew they needed to help the man, but she also knew that right now, they weren't in any condition to help. "Shit, we have to call the police!"
Just as she said this another sound from above got their attention. As both looked up, they automatically took a step back only to feel they were against the wall of one of the buildings. Just then, they saw a rather big man rapidly skipping down from ladder to ladder in an obvious attempt to get to the street as soon as possible. The man made the last big jump onto the street and before he even took one step, he saw the two girls close to Knifehand.
Uraraka and Sai noticed the man looked pretty beaten up as well and was breathing hard. He had blood running down his face and his left eye swollen shut. 'Did he push the other guy from the roof?' was the first thing the gravity hero thought. "Who are you? Did you do this?" Uraraka pointed to the body on the floor.
The man gave her a devious smile, "Perfect, just the distraction I needed."
The gravity hero's eyes went wide as she shakily got into a fighting stance. 'Damn, of all the days to get drunk.' She thought as she did her best to look tough, given her current intoxicated state. "What do you mean by that?"
She didn't get a response, not immediately anyway, as the man lifted both arms in front of him and two, very scary battle axes formed out of his forearms. "I could use a hostage..." His scheming smile got wider, "…or two."

Author's Notes:
Hello friends. Wow, 17k reads on this story. I never thought so many people would read my fanfic, so thank you to all of you that took the time to read my little story. I would like to offer a huge apology to all my readers for the long period of time you all had to wait for an update. I was suffering from a pretty bad case of writer's block and a general lack of inspiration. This last chapter was pretty hard to write, but it did kind of broke me of this stagnant phase. I would love to do updates more frequently but sometimes it's hard with family, work, other hobbies and days that I feel like not doing anything. I know it sounds lazy, but I'm being honest. I have no plans of abandoning any of my stories and I actually have some ideas for future ones, all My Hero Academia related. I hope you guys and girls like my latest chapter, so please stick around for more in the future. Stay safe my friends.
