It was a wild day on Living Island. Everyone was gathering around for the 75th TV Land Annual Cartoon Land Battle of the Bands.

Bands from all sorts of TV shows were arriving. Amongst them were the Bugaloos. The Klue Queens were there as their entourage. The Circus Pops were also there because they needed to get the word out in the Krofftverse, where the location of the battle of the bands was held.

"So, mates," Celia said, "any cartoon characters you recognize? Because I just ran into Diamond and the Illusionz handing out autographs."

"Those were the champions of the 1989 competition," Joyce replied. "Cousin Judson told me about the previous winners. He also told me that the Bugaloos once won the contest so they can help out the Uptown Orphanage."

"And I just saw the 1999 winner, Firefly Eden, giving voice lessons to some Living Island blueberries," Ell-Berry giggled, "Hope you like."

"We stink! We stink! We stink!" shouted a familiar sponge and starfish. SpongeBob and Patrick went around the place shouting "We stink!" while hanging picket signs and wearing T-Shirts that said "We Stink."

Worried that they might bother Judson, the Circus Pops decided to check on the Bugaloos.

In their dressing room, Judson and the Bugaloos were warming up their vocals when the Circus Pops came in with urgent news about SpongeBob and Patrick. Leah knew that only bands and their entourages were allowed backstage and wondered why they would be on Living Island.

From a rumbling closet, Fern, Francine, and Muffy popped out while wearing clown hats. "Muffy!" shouted Kaylin as she helped Muffy. "What are you, Francine, and Fern doing here?"

"Hiding," all three answered.

Just as they were about to ask who are they hiding from, SpongeBob and Patrick barged in shouting, "We stink!"

"It's U Stink, not We Stink!" corrected Francine.

"They always get that mistake," Muffy groaned.

Kaylin recalled that as the Backstreet Boys special from 2002. Fern explained that ever since that episode aired, SpongeBob and Patrick had been their biggest fans. They were dying for a reunion, but due to a little romantic issues, Muffy refused to have a U Stink reunion, nor hear "Nothin' But the Music.

"Casablanca Crisis?" Judsong asked. "It's a term used to listen to a song that'll bring up trauma."

"Exactly," Muffy replied.

Muffy then imagined herself as a female Rick at Muffy's Café Américaina. At the band stand, Kaylin was a lounge singer while the Bugaloos were her backup band playing "Knock On Wood."

Just then, Howie D and his kitty wife, Leigh, walked through the door to get a bite to eat.

"What are we chopped liver?" Fun Bun the Bunny asked while he and Puddles turned their heads.

After Leigh left to go to the bathroom, Howie spotted Kaylin adjusting her microphone. "Play it once, Kay," he smiled while Kaylin turned around to see Muffy's second Backstreet crush, "for old time sake."

Kaylin was confused and didn't know what he was talking about. After he mentioned "Nothing But the Music," she said that she'd do her best. After they played the song, Muffy came in startled and shouted, "Kaylin! I thought I told you never to play that song!"

"It was his idea!" Kaylin shouted as she pointed to Howie D.

Muffy was startled and said to herself, "You could be our manager." After Howie D winked at her, he spotted Leigh and took her hand. Muffy began to cry because of a broken heart.

To cheer them up, Joyce told Fern, Muffy, and Francine to close their eyes. Using their powers, they were ready for a surprise.

Superpops, we can't be stopped!

In a flash, they changed into circus-themed outfits. Muffy's had muffins on them, Fern's had cupcakes on them, and Francine's had cookies on them.

Everyone was amazed by the lovely outfits, especially Kaylin. "Such adorable outfits," she commented.

Just as they were about to rehearse their dance moves, cheese sauce came from the other end. To avoid ruining the outfits, Kirby used his star powers to lift them up from the rising cheese. Patrick and SpongeBob dived down and did some synchronize swimming. Worried about their safety, the Bugaloos went around the place and got rid of all the cheese sauce.

"Sorry, folks!" shouted a dorky African-American boy. "The Cheese Bombs still have a few bugs."

"Urkel?" IQ asked as he flew down. "What are you doing here?"

The Klue Queens were surprised about the fact that the Bugaloos knew Urkel from "Family Matters." Harmony explained that they didn't like to talk about it, because they were afraid that Urkel's clumsiness might expose magic creature havens like Lititz Heights.

"SpongeBob, Patrick, and I are competiting in the contest," Urkel explained. "Heard you're bringing your human friend Judsong Soul into the contest."

"We are," Courage replied, "but we don't want you scaring away patrons again."

"Like how the Banana Splits are splitting the scene?" Urkel asked, much to our heroes' shock.

Outside the dressing room, the Banana Splits were leaving because someone placed real snakes into their dressing rooms. Their judges, the Spell Belles, started to worry.

"Come now, sugar," Sunny said. "As the winners of the 1969 Battle of the Bands, you must remember that one of your sketches was 'Danger Island'."

"Well, this contest is becoming dangerous," Feagle complained as he, Bingo, Drooper, and Snorky split the scene. After that, Leah asked what was going on.

"I do declare," Sunny replied. "The bands competiting this year are forfeiting due to someone scaring away the patrons. The only ones that are still here are the Circus Pops, the Bugaloos, Luna Aracnida, Cha Ching, the Cattanooga Cats, and Urkel, and the Feather Friends."

"Luna Aracnida?" asked Leah. "Never heard of them."

"But I did," Estrella popped up. "They were a dark Cuban cartoon when I was a child. I barely remember my parents much, but I do remember watching their show. Most of the familias of our vecindario said it's a bad show and not a good influence to any of the children. Luckily, it cancelled after 26 episodes in one season."

Now they had three suspects They didn't suspect Urkel and the Feather Friends, the Bugaloos, and the Circus Pops because their Klue Queen friends.

Suspects

Luna Arácnida - One of the few bands that didn't get scared away.

Cha Ching - One of the few bands that didn't get scared away.

Catanooga Cats - One of the few bands that didn't get scared away.

At the dressing rooms Tania, Harmony, Joy, Judsong, Fifi, and Luigi were going around looking for some clues. When they were reaching a room with a grave with a spider on it, they entered.

Inside, a quartet of gothic arachnid toons were petrified from the light and Harmony and Joy's sunshiny appearance. "We don't do sunshine!" shouted one of the bandmates.

Remembering from what Estrella told her, Tania knew who they were. "That's Luna Arácnida," she explained. "Romera is on keyboard, Ebana is on guitar and vocals, Rafael is on bass, and Alonzo is on drums."

Ebana came up and told them to bug off. After pushing them out, Judsong found a strange trail of black nail polish. "I remember doing Halloween shows in Australia," he replied. "And they always use black nail polish, even the guys would use them."

Following the trail, they followed it to the broom closet. Inside, they saw numerous stuff that scared away the other bands. "These poor things," Joy sadly said. "We should get them out."

Carefully, they released all the scary animals and freed them so they wouldn't scare away another band.

By the dance studio, Leah, IQ, Estrella, Courage, Fenmore, Kirby, and Melvin were interviewing Cha Ching on the mysterious scarers. Fortunately, Prudence's planning made sure that they don't get scared during the Battle of the Bands by using Pepper's perfume.

After Pepper gave them some perfume samples, they heard a loud scream. But it wasn't a scream of fear: it was a scream of excitement.

In the other dance studio, they saw Urkel, SpongeBob, and Patrick bouncing in a haunted bouncy castle. Courage, Melvin, Kirby, Estrella, and Swinger joined in on the fun. IQ thought it wasn't a good time for bouncy castles, but Leah thought it would be a good clue, because she sensed a pattern with the snakes and castle.

At the control room, Paige, Kaylin, Rylie, Fern, Muffy, and Francine were going around wondering if the culprit did any technical difficulties to scare the other bands. Suddenly, they heard some cat screeches. Outside, they found four soak toon cats forfeiting due to someone spraying dark water on them. It was the Cattanooga Cats: Country, Kitty Jo, Scoots, and Groove. They didn't want to be involved in a scaring frenzy.

On the soak floor, they could see a soggy note. They couldn't understand it, but some flowery magic dried it up. It was Daisy, Rosie, and Dafodil. They wanted to help the patrons during this crazy time. Observing the note, Paige could see that it had two notes: "Aranea" and "Escorpion."

"Didn't our friend Aranea say that those were the Spanish words for 'arachnid' and 'scorpion'?" Rylie asked.

"Si," Paige answered. "And all I'm getting it had a thing for-"

"Fear and Arachnids," finished Rylie. That was when they realize that Luna Arácnida was the culprit.

Onstage much later, Luna Arácnida were behind the curtains congradulating each other for scaring the other bands. "We did it, amigos," Ebana smiled. "We scared away those bright and sunny band."

"And that funny looking Cha Ching," replied Rafael. "That hungry Bobby would follow the trail of black licorice donuts we left him, and Justin, Zul, Charity, Pepper and Prudence would be gone all night to chase him."

"It's amazing when our local hangout is a donut shop," Alonzo laughed.

Luna Arácnida were stunned to see our heroes surrounding them and knowing about their little scaring scheme. But the only answer now was why they did it.

"Because nobody remembers our cartoon," Ebana explained. "1980 to 1981. Our creator thought he could make a dark turn on the Bugaloos by making a gothic version of them. Unfortunately, fans weren't loco about us and los padres thought we were too scary for ninos."

"Of course your Spanish words 'Arana' and 'Escorpión' your trail of black nail polish, and your receipt for a haunted bouncy castle blew your cover," Tania explained.

"I remember you from when my parents watched your show," Estrella replied. "And you're not a good influence."

Outraged by the insult, they tried to scare them with their ghosts and spiders. Seeing a microphone, they knew what to do. They called out, "Kirby, suck it up!"

Sucking the microphone up, he turned into Microphone Kirby. The Circus Pops gave them special ear buds to avoid Kirby's terrible singing, and Kirby began to sing at the top of his lungs. Urkel, SpongeBob, and Patrick were dressed up in their chicken costumes, heard Kirby's singing and played along on accordion, guitar, and drums, respectively. Even though they couldn't hear Kirby's singing, Estrella and Swinger danced along, thanks to their monkey instincts.

Luna Arácnida was so annoyed by Kirby's horrible singing, they made a run for a run for it. Just as they were about to escape, Estrella took a cheese bomb and made them trapped in cheese. Looking back, they thought being trapped in cheese and being annoyed by Kirby's singing was punishment enough.

Suddenly, a dragon with a yellow head came in to see if everything was alright. It was H.R. Pufnstuf, the friend when things got rough. "I heard some terrible singing and I figured that it might be Kirby using his microphone move again," he said. "Mayor Hess warned me about this."

After explaining that all the others forfeited, this made the Bugaloos and the Circus Pops the tied winners. Also, there was no need for a tie breaker because the show went on. SpongeBob, Urkel, and Patrick felt bad because they didn't win. Feeling sorry, Celia, Joyce, and Ell-Berry decided to let them do the special effects for the performance. This made Urkel and the Feather Friends happy.

Twenty minutes later, the Battle of the Bands was taking place. The Spell Belles were sitting down at the judge's booth while Pufnstuf came onstage.

"Due to a little arachnid troubles, most of the bands forfeited the contest," Pufnstuf explained, "Luckily, the winners of the 1971, 1980, 1990, 2000, 2010, and 2020 are here to perform with their new human friend and his cousin's band. Please welcome Judsong and the Bugaloos and the Circus Pops doing the Monkees' 'I'm a Believer'!"

Onstage, Judsong and the Bugaloos performed "I'm a Believer" with the Circus Pops as the backup dancers. Urkel, SpongeBob, and Patrick were backstage performing special effects. By the end of the song, the Klue Queens joined in with a dancing Kirby singing, "I'm a believer, I couldn't leave ya if I tried."

The End.
