Chapter 88: Chance
KPOV
~A little over a week ago~
Feeling the hand go for my mouth, the other on my waist, instinctively, I squealed against the hand. Until I bit down on it and used my elbow to knock it against the side of my kidnapper's jaw. My kidnapper yelled from pain when I bit into his hand.
Hearing him grunt, he let me go and I gasped as I went to reach for anything I could use as a weapon. As I turned, I saw it was none other than Dwight, checking both his hand, shaking it, after the bite I gave it. He was also clutching his jaw from the hit he just took.
Instinctively, I had to look after myself and my child, meaning, if he went to hurt me, I'd defend myself regardless who it was. "Jesus, you're a tough woman," Dwight commented as he inspected the injuries taken.
He then rose his hand, to block me from hitting him, even if I was ready to. "Hey, I'm not going to hurt you," Dwight reassured me he was no threat to me. I don't know if I believe him...
Then, I realised it was Dwight who wanted to help me, who gave me the note, telling me to meet him here. "What the hell?" I was still shocked to see him. "You want to help me?" I questioned him. "Out of all people, I really didn't expect it to be you," I commented, especially after all he did for Negan.
Dwight straightened up and rose his arms only to let them flop back to his sides. "Sherry's gone," Dwight stated something we both already knew. "The only reason I stayed here, was for her," Dwight explained his reasons of being part of this awful group.
"And because of being here, it changed me in ways Sherry couldn't stand living with anymore," Dwight started telling us what happened behind the scenes of Sherry's decision to leave. "Because of Negan, she's gone," Dwight almost cried but kept himself firmly together as I lowered my weapon.
Part of me wanted to sympathise with him but another part of me, knew I couldn't. "Why should I trust you?" I asked Dwight, already sensing doubt in trusting him. He could easily seek revenge against me, to prove himself to Negan.
Silence as we stared at each other slowly passed as I waited to listen to him. "I've got nothing left," Dwight told me. "Nothing worth living for," Dwight made it clear. "And your secret, it's safe with me," Dwight reassured me, out of the blue. What secret?
Seeing my confusion, that was when Dwight decided to clarify. "I know its Daryl's...the baby," Dwight suddenly revealed but my body froze over. I had remembered the day I told Daryl I loved him, Dwight had been there, overhearing us.
"Shh," I whispered, putting my finger to my lips.
Not needing anyone to walk past and hear it, I feared who could be close. "You can trust me," Dwight told me. "It won't be easy but...try," Dwight encouraged me to give him a chance. "I can help you. Whatever you need, just tell me," Dwight almost begged.
His eyes were sincere. As I looked on, I debated my options. Debated what I'd do. On if I should trust him. I'm going to try...I have to. He might be all I have in here...
PRESENT DAY...RPOV
Looking at Dwight, he had finally kneeled in front of me, after a few shaky breaths, I was testing to see how serious he was. But his eyes were glued to Daryl. "Look at me," I ordered. Slowly, his gaze turned to me. "Why?" I wanted to know.
Why is he here? Why does he want to help? Why is he protecting Kat? "'Cause I want it stopped," Dwight answered promptly. "I want Negan dead," Dwight told me what he wanted.
"So why don't you kill him?" was the simplest question I could ask him.
Dwight's eyes were a little scared but serious at the same time. "Can't just be me," Dwight answered honestly. "They're all Negan," Dwight repeated the same thing everyone said.
Keeping my gun pointed at him, I wasn't convinced. "That girl you murdered..." Tara began as she approached and I moved off to one side to give her space. "She had a name," Tara told him as she crouched beside him. "Her name was Denise, and she was a doctor. And she helped people," Tara told him as her voice shook a little.
I understood her pain but if Dwight was telling the truth, if he was really looking after Kat, I couldn't kill him. Dwight shut his eyes briefly before he opened them to gaze up at Tara. "I wasn't aiming for her," Dwight said the same thing he always did.
Suddenly, Tara moved away as Daryl came in full force for him. Grabbing him by his shirt, Daryl shoved him against the wall, his knife so close to Dwight's face as he pinned the guy to the wall. Daryl was trembling, the knife in his hand shaking.
Dwight on the other hand, was panting, from the surprise attack he got from Daryl. Dwight pushed him too far. Did too much. "Do it. Do it," Tara encouraged Daryl to kill Dwight.
Waiting to see what he'd do, I had hope he wouldn't kill Dwight. If it's true, if he wants to help us and if he's really looking after Kat, I need him alive. We all need him alive. "You wanna end it this way...you go ahead," Dwight encouraged Daryl as Daryl grabbed hold of his neck.
I could see Daryl was slowly choking him in his grip. Daryl's knife was so close to Dwight's eye, I was sure that one inch closer, he'd cut Dwight's eye out. "I'm sorry. I am," Dwight apologised for all he did wrong. "I know you want to," Dwight knew Daryl wanted to kill him.
But there was only one thing in the way of that. Kat. "But I'm the only one looking out for Kat back there," Dwight told him, which made Daryl's breath shake all the more than before. His feet shuffling, almost in a protective manner the second he heard my daughter's name.
He's a good man. But I don't want rage to consume him. Not yet. "He could just be here to see if you were here," I told Daryl, which I knew this was another trick the Saviors could be up to.
"We can't trust him," Michonne said straight after with a shake of her head.
Daryl continued to keep Dwight pinned to the wall. "He owned me. But not anymore," Dwight stated his supposed facts. "What I did, I was doing it for someone else. She just got away," Dwight explained the reasons for his awful actions.
Dwight never let his gaze leave Daryl's. "I'm working with Kat, we did some terrible shit, just to keep her and Sherry safe. And now I'm here," Dwight gave us some insight of what happened to him and to Kat. "So are you because of them, because of Sherry," Dwight spoke directly to Daryl on this part.
Whoever Sherry was, clearly was someone both of them knew. "Do it!" Tara yelled for Daryl to kill Dwight.
"There's another choice," Dwight whispered to Daryl as I saw him slowly inch the knife away from Dwight.
Tara though, she wasn't backing down. "Daryl," Tara called to Daryl, as though she was pulling him to the right side. "Daryl, you knew her," Tara tried her best to convince him.
As the knife continued to get closer to Dwight's eye, I feared Daryl would actually listen to Tara. "Negan trusts me," Dwight pointed out. "We work together, we can stop him," Dwight continued to feed us the suggestion of working together to defeat Negan.
No matter how much I wanted to be convinced, I wasn't. Not yet. "You knew me then, and you know me now. You know I'm not lying. About anything. I'm not," Dwight tried to reach out to Daryl, to convince him as they looked each other directly in the eyes.
Daryl stayed deadly still, holding the knife as he shook from the tension evidently in his body. "Do it. Do it!" Tara continued to encourage Daryl to kill Dwight. But eventually, Daryl removed the knife away from his face.
Not letting Dwight go, I approached them and took my place beside Daryl. We need him, if he's telling the truth. Daryl believes him, so hopefully, he is looking after my daughter. "They have Sasha, if she's even alive," Rosita spoke up.
All of us turned our heads to look at her, all of us, except Daryl. "Why didn't you say something?" Jesus asked her. "He could be our only chance to get her and Kat back," Jesus then looked to Dwight.
Mention of Kat, it always hit me like an arrow straight through my heart. My poor baby. My strong, smart baby, who is having her own baby. I need to be smart about this. About all of this. "Because I don't trust him," Rosita glared at Dwight. "But I trust Daryl," Rosita's tone softened.
Daryl stayed close to Dwight as he slowly let go of his neck. "Negan's coming soon," Dwight said as his head turned to look at me. "Tomorrow. Three trucks probably. Twenty Saviors and him," Dwight gave us the numbers.
Feeling my heart thump inside my chest as I subconsciously paced a little. "And Kat?" I asked him, needing to know if he'd planned on bringing my daughter to whatever show he had ready tomorrow.
Dwight's eyes met mine as his voice was as stern as his eyes when it came to Kat. He must be looking after her. "He never brings a wife to these kinds of situations. So her and the baby are safe," Dwight reassured me.
Daryl kept gazing at Dwight from the side, like a tiger, stalking his prey. "I can slow them down, bring some trees down in the road, buy a little time for you guys to get ready," Dwight gave us a plan of how he could keep the Saviors busy while we prepared ourselves for the fight.
"If you can take them out, that's where we start," Dwight encourage this to be a good starting point. "You kill them, I'll radio back to the Sanctuary," Dwight said a place that sounded strange to me.
For a moment, I thought it was code for bullshit. "The Sanctuary?" I questioned him.
Dwight kept his eyes on mine. "Where Negan lives," Dwight answered me, making it clear what this meant. "That's what they call it," Dwight explained. "I can radio back to them and say everything's okay," Dwight was already starting to give us a brief plan.
"You drive the trucks back, and I can lead you right inside, and, with the right plan, we can wipe out the rest," the way Dwight spoke, made me weary to trust him if he was willing to take out his own group. "I can take you directly to Kat," Dwight's eyes swept between me and Daryl.
His eyes then darted to the rest of us. "Then, we can check to see if your friend's still alive," Dwight said as I sniffed and looked away. He keeps mentioning my daughter, I'm starting to wonder if I should believe him.
"After that, we get the workers on our side, build our numbers up, and go from outpost to outpost and end this. Kat has all the plans, all the layouts, everything," Dwight informed us what else we could do and how we could do it.
The fact Kat had all the information we needed, was impressive as it was. I hope he's not lying. "In the meantime, I can look after Kat, take care of her and her baby. Protect them from Negan, whichever way I can," Dwight reassured us he'd look after Kat until this plan was set to work.
Reaching into his pocket, Daryl was ready to attack again but Dwight's words made me push Daryl back. "She told me to show you this if you didn't believe me..." Dwight said as he took out a piece of paper.
Taking it from him slowly, I opened up the note, expecting something else. But I was surprised to see Kat's writing. To win, we need people. Try to trust him, like I'm trying to. Her note said. I knew my daughter's hand writing, and this was definitely it.
Showing it to Daryl, he too quickly read over it and then looked back to Dwight. "Keep talking," I encouraged Dwight to continue telling us everything we needed to know. We have to try and trust him. The same way Kat is trying to trust him.

Watching as Dwight left, he had given us something from his bag and left. Something that we both handled with care, but something neither of us knew were given to us for show, or given to us to prove Dwight really was on our side.
Neither of us could tell just how genuine Dwight was being. "We just started it, the whole thing," Rick said, as Dwight got into a truck and drove out of our gates.
"If he's lyin', I'm gonna kill him real slow," I growled, hoping he was telling the truth, because Kat was in danger if he wasn't being honest with us. If everything he just said, was a lie, I'd kill him myself.
And I wasn't going to let anyone stop me. "When this is done, I don't give a damn if he's sorry," I made sure Rick understood where I stood with Dwight when it came to everything he did to me, to all of us. "I will kill that son of a bitch," I promised myself this.
Clutching onto the note Kat gave us, Rick glanced to it and then back up at Dwight's retreating truck. Turning his back to Dwight's retreating form, Rick glanced to me from over his shoulder slightly.
"If he's lying, this is already over," Rick said as he walked off. I'm sure Kat will be the one to kill him if he betrayed us. She's putting her life, our child's life, in his care. Looking over to Tara, she sat on the steps, looking to me, like she was a little disappointed in me.
Looking back, I nodded and felt the weight of this death on my shoulders. If Kat doesn't kill him, I will. He's betrayed me and he killed Denise because of me. Dwight has to die. I owe it to Denise. I owe it to Tara...
DWIGHT'S POV
Getting back to the Sanctuary before anyone could realise I had been gone, I went straight to Kat, who had been curled up in bed, fast asleep. The moment I entered the room, Kat shot up from her sleep and sat up slightly as her hands propped her body up in bed.
"Dwight," Kat was surprised to see me as I took a seat beside her. "What did they say?" Kat asked me, concerned as to what her family and friends thought to my plan, to my offer to be an ally.
Sitting down on her bed, as she propped herself up, Kat's eyes were gentle, warmer than what her father's cold, cool gaze was. "We've got a plan," I nodded, reassuring her that there was a plan in place.
Kat's hand gently gripped my should as she shuffled up a little more. "Dwight, I-" Kat went to say but I cut her off.
"But there's stuff I need to do before it can start," I told Kat that there was somethings I needed to do. "It's going to take a few hours," I warned her just how long it might take me to make sure this plan worked.
I need to cut down trees. "I need you to cover for me, tell them I'm making you something to eat, anything," I encouraged her to watch out for me, so that no one got suspicious of our plans. "Just lie until you have no more excuses to give them," I tried to convince her that this was our best plan.
Kat's eyes met mine, searching to see if I was lying, or just saying it to say it. Or if I was being genuine. "Please," I begged of her as I gazed directly into her eyes. Her and Daryl are just the same. I have to look in their eyes to prove to them I'm not lying.
Slowly, Kat nodded and gently rubbed her hand over her stomach, as though she was protectively looking after her baby. "Okay," Kat agreed to let me go. As I got up, I heard her stay very still on the bed.
Closing the door behind myself, I left to get what I needed and did my part. Cutting down as many trees as I could, I then made my way back. Only to find Kat, wasn't the Kat I knew to walk the halls of the Sanctuary.

Waiting, as the Scavengers rolled in on their bicycles, they came in garbage trucks and an RV. All of them piling out, as Jadis approached me with Tamiel and Brion close behind. Jadis's eyes would glance around at our walls, our homes. "What you fight for," Jadis assumed as she stopped in front of us.
In front of myself and Michonne as we saw her inspecting the place. She thinks we're only fighting for our home. It isn't just the buildings and the walls. It's the lives Negan keeps taking. "Not the place. The people, each other," I explained what this was about. "You're a part of that now," I told her.
Although, Jadis gave me the same, cold look she did before. "We take. We don't bother-our way," Jadis said her regular saying. Basically, they don't risk these kinds of things. "Maybe another way," Jadis suggested that there were may be more to this.
Jadis's eyes then went to Michonne. "Yours?" Jadis gestured with her head to me.
Michonne glanced to me, to which I shrugged because we were together, we were very much together. And I had no desire to change that. "Yeah, we're together," Michonne answered for me.
"I lay with him after," Jadis said in a casual tone of voice. "You care?" Jadis wondered if Michonne would mind if Jadis were to have sex with me.
This, of course, wasn't a plan I was willing to follow. Glancing between the two females, I could tell Michonne was ready to slice Jadis in half for suggesting I have sex with her later. "We should get back to work," Michonne didn't answer but suggested this to be a better plan than rolling around naked.
Not to mention, Jadis is no way my type. She might be strong, fearless but there is something...weird about her. "Yeah," I agreed, nodding as I took a few steps backwards until I was far away enough to return to the others. To instruct them in how this would go.

Sitting in my room, I was dressed in the usual dress that Negan liked, with my hair down, I was slipping my smaller heels on, as Negan had politely given me just enough heel to not hurt myself and the baby.
Suddenly, the door all but burst open as Negan appeared with a huge black coat, a black top, black boots, black socks, black leather gloves and black pants. The whole outfit itself was a funeral outfit, mixed with his regular wife colour scheme. What is he up to?
As he dumped it all onto my bed, I then saw him get handed his bat from one of his men as he looked to me with a smug grin. "Put this on," Negan ordered of me as he pointed to the clothes on the bed using his bat. "We're going on a trip down memory lane," Negan smirked as he said it enthusiastically, swinging his bat to rest upon his shoulder once more.
Dwight quickly rushed to Negan's side, as he saw the clothes and heard what he'd said. "Negan, I don't think this is a good idea-" Dwight tried to stop me, as my father had planned a lot in order to take out the Saviors.
I knew that Dwight had cut trees in the middle of the road to stop Negan's group, to buy my family enough time to get ready for a fight. Slowly, Negan turned his attention to Dwight. "I don't care what you think Dwight," Negan spoke slowly, as though he was mocking him.
"She's comin', so get ready," Negan's eyes would glance between myself and Dwight before he went to the door. "Today is a very big day," Negan announced before he shut the door. Looking at the clothes and then to Dwight, I then realised something.
None of this, was part of the plan. I'm not supposed to be there...

Taking a Trust A Move truck, we had parked it by the houses, as I helped with the wires while Rosita and Aaron worked away at fixing the explosives for when Negan and the others came. Wrapping the wires around the dynamite, I knew today was the day.
In my gut, I knew today would be the day I would get Kat back. If everything went smoothly, we'd get her back with the help of Dwight leading us in. Then, we'd take down the outposts, one by one with all the information Kat had written down. If not, we could always steal the files Negan had stored there once we took all of them down.
Either way, today was the day and I was ready to have Kat in my care again. I was wrong. She was right. And hopefully, we get her back today and without a single hitch. We have to. For her. For all of us.
KPOV
The sound of a chainsaw buzzing as I stood off beside Negan, surrounded by Saviors as we looked on. The pile of trees Dwight had put down, was proving to me, that Dwight was in fact, on our team. But the fact I was here, was worrying as it was.
With no weapon, no belt, nothing, I had to focus on staying calm and smart. Today could be the day where I get a chance to leave. Which was the same thought I had back at the Sanctuary, as I slipped everything I had, into my coat pockets.
Glancing to Dwight, I could tell he was content to see that Negan and his men took the route we expected them to go. But I also could see the slight worry in them as he gazed at me. "Think this was them?" Simon asked as he turned back around to meet with myself and Negan.
Negan looked directly to Simon. "Crossed my mind," Negan too had reason to believe this was someone's doing. Alexandria's doing. "We got a plan 'B,'" Negan told Simon as Simon angrily walked past us.
Eugene was standing off to the side, watching them cut away the trees that had blocked our path. "If I might be so bold..." Eugene began as he approached Negan. My eyes glaring at him as I crossed my arms over my chest. Don't think I haven't forgotten you ratting on me to Negan about my conversations with Sasha.
"This unexpected stoppage has given me the chance for an exhaustive mull," Eugene said to Negan, a bunch of words only he, himself would comprehend. "Now, given the loaded circumstances and potential for casualties and resource expenditure, I was wondering if you would give me the opportunity to attempt to slow their jets and cool their roll," Eugene suggested he go off alone before the rest of us showed up.
What Eugene suggested, only pleased Negan as he chuckled and leaned back with a wide smile. Keeping my eyes glued to them, I wondered just what was so funny. He really wants to play with my family's lives. I won't let them but I know, that Negan won't win this time. I won't let him.

Starting to get into position, I was making sure the gun was loaded before I placed it onto the ground. Then, I picked up the next sniper rifle to give it to the member of Jadis's group. "You shoot one of these before?" I asked her and she gave me a single nod.
Taking the gun from me, she appeared to be confident in the way she held it. "Good," I said softly as I gave it to her.
Turning my back to her, I took in a deep breath, my eyes glued to the gate. Negan will be here soon. I need to be ready. For anything. "Worry?" the girl asked me briefly.
The way in which these people talked, worried me more than our fight against Negan had. "No," I answered her bluntly as I briefly looked over my shoulder at her.
"Good," the girl replied.
Nodding, I took the gun I had propped up against the side of the balcony and went to go past her. "I'll be on the next one over," I told her.
But the girl looked at me confused as to why I'd leave her alone. "Why?" the girl asked me as she stopped me in my tracks, blocking me from walking past her.
Looking into her eyes, something about her, about all of her group, gave me a strange vibe. "It's more sight lines if we split up," I explained why I was leaving her alone on this balcony.
"I'll go," the girl offered to go instead.
Squinting at her, I was a little surprised she was offering to be the one to take the shot at Negan. "You sure?" I asked her, curious to know if she was really up for it and willing to take the shot at Negan.
The girl gave me another single nod. Shrugging my shoulders, I thought I might as well let her take the shot, if she really wanted to. "Okay," I agreed to letting her leave for the other balcony.
Taking my spot as she went to leave, I held my gun low but kept my eyes on the space where I'd get the chance to see Negan roll up to the gates at this relatively clear angle. "We win," the woman said, which drew my attention to her.
The girl was looking over her shoulder at me with a small smirk. Turning my head to look at her properly, I kept my eyes on her. "Yeah," I agreed with her before she turned around and left. Gradually, I lifted my gun up a little and got ready for what was to come.

Hearing the sign that they were coming, Brion had been making bird sounds using a small flute to signal that they were on their way. Getting ready as we were all in our positions, I looked over to Carl, who looked at me, ready, determined to get his sister back. He wants her back just as much as I do.
And we are going to get her back. Today. I was sure of this. As I nod to him, I then returned my gaze back to the front, ready for whoever was about to approach. Looking down to the others, everyone was ready. The cars were in place, the explosives were ready and our people were ready. Daryl was at the front, behind a car, ready to attack the first set of fighters that would approach our gates.
"Rosita," I called to her. "Get into position. I'll signal you," I instructed Rosita to follow my lead as I placed my gun to be tucked behind my pants and shirt. "And the wall's gonna hold?" I asked her, worried if it would fall or tumble or explode when the explosives were triggered.
Nodding up at me, Rosita's eyes were firm as she gazed up at me. "It'll hold," Rosita reassured me that we'd all be fine when it was finally time to fight. Daryl had looked back at Rosita when her eyes met his, all before Daryl glanced up at me and nodded.
He believes her. Now. We wait. "All points are covered. Every contingency is already met. I come armed with two barrels of the truth. A test is upon you, and I'm giving out the cheat sheet," Eugene's voice echoed as I saw him ride in a truck, his body propped up behind the truck.
As the brakes squeak and air brakes hiss, the engine promptly shut off in front of our explosives. The megaphone in Eugene's hand, all dressed in dark tones, I wondered just what had happened to him while he lived under their roof. "H-Hello," Eugene awkwardly greeted us.
Staring at him, I knew this wasn't the same Eugene I knew. "I come salved with the hope that it is my dropped knowledge that you heed. Options are zero to none," Eugene told us as he let out a sigh straight after.
"Compliance and fealty are your only escape. Bottom-lining it: you may thrive, or you may die," Eugene warned us. "I sincerely wish for the former for everyone's sake. The jig is up and in full effect," Eugene said as I felt Carl's eye on me. I could feel everyone's joined anger against Eugene.
He's on Negan's side. "Will you comply, Rick?" Eugene asked of me through the megaphone.
Not wanting to hurt him, I knew my goal and I knew that we were going to do whatever it took to take them down. "Where's Negan?" I asked him.
I needed to get to the point and I needed him to stand down. Eugene lowered the megaphone and looked directly up at me, directly into my eyes. "I'm Negan," Eugene answered and that, was when I felt my heart drop.
That was when I knew, that Negan had terrified Eugene to the point of surrendering and becoming one of them. Shutting my eyes tightly, I looked ahead and knew, that I had to do this. I had to do this, for Kat, for all of us.
Letting out a sigh, I looked to the sky, asking for God to give me the strength I needed to fight them. To not hate myself later, even if it meant I was going to do this, to show Negan a message. We don't answer to him anymore.
Taking a moment to think things through, when I met Eugene's eyes, all I saw was another obstacle in my way to getting my freedom and my daughter back. Looking back down to Rosita, I gave her the signal and when she looked away to press the button, I ducked down, ready for the impact of the explosions to go off.
But when nothing happened after a few short seconds of when I assumed, Rosita had pressed the button, I slowly turned my head to look up, then to Rosita. She too, looked confused as to what was happening as her eyes met mine.
Feeling a rage boil in me, I then realised we had a traitor here and it could only be Jadis and her people. Going for my gun, I only had the chance to hold the handle, especially when Jadis quickly stood up and aimed her gun down on me. Her gun cocked and the gates were slowly opening as one of her people granted the Saviors entry. I can't believe this...
MPOV
Breathing heavily as I looked into the scope, waiting for something to happen, instead, I watched on and saw how Negan had climbed out, with Kat close in front of him, with Eugene by her side. Rick had been betrayed by Jadis. A gun to his head, I then realised we had been lied to all this time. Carl too had been trapped by Jadis's people, a gun aimed at him.
As Rick rose to his feet, his hand still on his gun but Jadis still keeping her gun to his head, I knew that everything, had gone completely wrong. Kat isn't supposed to be here and Jadis is supposed to be on our side.
"No," I whispered as I lowered my gun and went to attack the girl before she could get me.
Hearing a rifle cock behind me, I then saw the same girl stood behind me, one step ahead of me. "We win," she said again but this time, I finally pieced the puzzle together. They knew this was going to happen. These lying assholes.
RPOV
Seeing Kat stood behind Negan, as he held onto Eugene's back, a lot of people were surrounding them as Negan squinted up at me. Kat was wearing all black, almost the same as Eugene but this was a style I never saw my daughter wear.
In fact, I remembered that Kat wasn't supposed to be there. My eyes were glued to her as her soft blues were hard, cold, like she'd not expected this either and was ready for a fight to break out too. It was like she was far too focused to look at me.
My heart pounding at the sight of her as I glanced to Negan and Eugene, who clearly knew all of this was going to happen. They knew where the explosives were and they had quickly taken care of taking them back.
"You ever hear the one about the stupid little prick named Rick who thought he knew shit but didn't know shit and got everyone he that gave a shit about killed?" Negan asked me a little angrily. "It's about you," Negan pointed up at me.
Acting as though there were many Ricks out there. "You're all gonna wanna put your guns down now," Negan instructed to us.
My eyes naturally would dance from my daughter, to Negan. What the hell did he do to her? "No one drops anything," I countered his order. "We had a deal," I growled as I turned my head to look at Jadis, snarling at her as I glared at her.
Jadis betrayed me. Her name was far too close to Judas. I should have realised this earlier. "Tamiel came for the boat things. Followed ones who took. Made a better deal," Jadis explained how they had crossed paths with Negan.
Letting out a loud sigh, I shook my head and took a few steps back. Scrunching my face up with anger, I couldn't believe everything we had done, to get her to help us fight, only for her to stab us in the back.
"You push me, and you push me. And you push me, Rick," Negan said as I looked to the sky before taking a few steps forward to get a good look at Kat, at Negan and Eugene. At all the Saviors stood right outside our gates.
Kat was stood close by Simon and by Dwight. "You just tried to blow us up, right?" Negan asked me. "I mean, I get me, my people," Negan tried to act understanding. "But Eugene?" Negan questioned me. "He's one of yours," Negan said but we both knew he was no longer on our side.
Negan made Eugene one of his. Meaning, Eugene was one of his people now. "And after what he did, he stepped up," Negan tried to remind me of the day he offered himself over to them for us.
"And you were willing to blow up your very own pregnant daughter?" Negan said, waiting for me to be shocked but instead, my eyes darted to the one he spoke about. Kat's eyes were glancing to the distance, to beyond the gate.
My head turned to look down at my people by the gates, I could see Daryl, gazing back, beyond the gates and I realised. Kat is looking at Daryl. At the real father of her child. "Now, that, that is cold," Negan commented with a slightly stern tone of voice.
"You people...are animals," Negan remarked, trying to make us seem like the barbarians, rather than it being them. "Universe gives you a sign, and you just shove your finger right up its ass," Negan grinned as he flipped his middle finger up at me.

Gazing over at Kat, I hadn't been able to remove my gaze from her. She looked nothing like the Kat I last saw. A Kat, who looked worried but sad to see me go. She was now a Kat that was hardened by whatever must have happened, that her and Dwight might have gone through together.
Dressed in all black, her hair down and eyes icy cold. My eyes were glued to hers as she stared back at me, her arms protectively crossed over her chest as her face was stern. It was as though she was waiting for something. Seeing her there, so close to me, but yet, so far, I was more determined than ever to get rid of these people.
To make sure nothing else was between me and her ever again. I'm going to get her back. My eyes were trying to tell her the same thing but it was as though, Kat no longer needed saving. I should of put my trust in her sooner.

Since I got there, all I could think about, was my escape. My need to fight. To finally let these assholes see who they were fucking with. They're fucking with the wrong people. I could hear my father's voice in my head from the time we were trapped in a train cart.
My eyes were on Daryl, or my father, Daryl seemed angrier at the thought I was here, with these people, rather than the fact he no longer looked to be blaming me anymore for staying here. It's like he wants me to be standing on his side, instead of over here, with the people I'd kill to get back to them.
The way in which Daryl looked at me, was like he wanted to save me from these people. Like they told me he was going to get me back. I've been through too much to let anyone stop me at this point. I might be pregnant but I know I'm not weak.
My father, he looked shocked, horrified to see me there and I could only imagine it was because he didn't expect me here. I didn't expect me here. When my eyes looked up and met his gaze, I saw how he trembled, the same way he did when we fought Joe and his group.
We can do this dad. Together. Trust in me. Trust in us. My eyes were a little soft as I looked to him, trying to give him this courage, that we were ready for a fight. It's now or never.
Negan pulled me out of my thoughts, as his laughter echoed throughout the yard. "Dwight, Simon, chop-chop," Negan ordered as Dwight brushed past me, my eyes followed his form as he left me to climb up after Simon walked past me.
Dwight and Simon had been working on undressing a casket, which left me confused. Negan moved around the truck, to walk past me, Negan's hand went to cup my very small bump as his lips pressed to my cheek, making me feel sick as I stayed very still.
My jaw hard as I saw his eyes were glued to my father out the corners, a small chuckle left him, as my dad glared daggers at him. If looks could kill. Negan climbed up to stand beside the upright casket, letting out a sigh as he gazed up at my father. "So, you don't like Eugene and Katherine anymore," Negan started his little speech.
My dad though, he cut Negan off from saying anything else. "She-she wasn't supposed to be here!" dad stuttered, like he was worried about me, about what I thought, as he yelled back down at Negan firmly.
I know he didn't mean to blow me up, it was only meant to be for Negan and his guys. "Well, she's here and you're lucky those bombs didn't work now, aren't you?" Negan questioned him, as I rest my hand over my stomach.
In a way, yes, we were lucky. "You guys gotta like Sasha," Negan said after a few moments of silence. "I do, too. Got her right here packaged for your convenience, alive and well," Negan had been indicating that Sasha was in the casket as he tapped the casket with his bat.
"Now, I brought her so I wouldn't have to kill all of you, and not killing all of you could get complicated," Negan said a little irritated by possibly, Sasha's request. "See, I know there's a lot of firepower left in there, Rick. So I'm gonna make this simple," Negan commented as he began setting rules down again.
"I want all the guns you've managed to scrape up. Yep, I know about those, too," Negan was proving to know a lot more than any of them expected. You tried dad. You tried. But this isn't over. It won't and can't be. "I want every last grain of lemonade you got left," Negan continued his demands.
The more he spoke, the angrier I saw my father become with the woman beside him, holding the gun to his head. "I want a person of your own choosing...for Lucille," Negan pointed to his bat at my father. He is not killing anyone else. Not today. Not tomorrow. Today is his end.
I was ready and the more he talked, the more tense I got. Negan's attention then was drawn to someone else. "Daryl," Negan said as my eyes glanced to Daryl, who was glaring at Negan with a look that was murderous.
Everyone held guns up at him, ready to shoot and the sight itself, made me sick. "Ooh, I gotta get me my Daryl back," Negan rest his hand over his heart. Over my dead body. "I see you," Negan gestured to Daryl with two fingers then to his own eyes.
Daryl was ready to rip Negan into millions of little pieces and I was about ready to help him. "And the pool table and all the pool cues and chalk," Negan was still adding to the list of things he wanted. "And I want it now or Sasha dies, and then all of you...probably," Negan threatened us as his voice rose with the first few words that left him.
Slowly, I saw Carl stand up tall, his eye on me as I gazed up at him. My baby brother...Carl had looked so angry, I thought he was about to cry. When his eye met mine, it was like he wanted nothing more than to jump down and save me from Negan, to save all of us from him.
"C'mon, Rick. Just because I brought her in a casket doesn't mean she has to leave in it," Negan encouraged to take the deal he was offering. Such a shitty deal. He might as well wipe his own ass with his deal.
Sighing as he raised his hand to place his fingertips against his forehead, Negan let out a soft chuckle. "You know what?" Negan quizzed my dad. "You suck ass, Rick. You really do," Negan gave his opinion as my dad glared down at Negan.
That's my dad. "I don't want to have to kill her, but that's exactly what you're gonna make me do," Negan tried to play the nice guy but myself and Sasha knew better. We saw through his bullshit the first chance he tried to act like a nice guy.
"Let me see her," dad almost pleaded as he took a step closer to the wall.
"Oh," Negan said chuckling. "All right," Negan agreed with my father. "Just give me a second. I might have to get her up to speed," Negan tried to humour us but was also stalling. What is he doing? "You can't hear shit inside this thing," Negan pointed to the casket with his bat.
With a smirk, Negan had turned and looked at me. As his eyes were on me, he banged on the door, a shit eating grin on his face. He thinks my dad is going to bend again. He's wrong. "Sash," Negan was acting like they were friends. "You're not gonna believe this crap," Negan spoke to Sasha like they were friends.
RPOV
As Negan knocked on the lid with his bat, his back to us, I waited to see if it was true. Or if it was just a cover up and that he already killed her. If she's dead. I'll kill every last one of them. No hesitation. "Sash," Negan spoke to Sasha, but all of us knew they weren't friends.
"You're not gonna believe this crap," Negan spoke to her but suddenly, a walker turned Sasha popped out of the casket, growling as she went to get him. "Holy goddamn!" Negan yelled as he took a few steps back and fell with Sasha ontop of him.
Taking this as his moment, Carl grabbed his gun and began shooting at the people surrounding him and the others. Everyone else began shooting, attacking the group of Saviors and the group of Scavengers that tried to get them.
Looking around, I saw how my people were fighting back, not letting this chance go. The fact they were already winning, had me hoping that maybe, we'd be beat them. As the shots kept ringing throughout the place, I turned to Jadis, ready to shoot her down too.
But she was planted, with her gun aimed right at me. "No," Jadis said coolly, shaking her head once, like she knew I was ready to take my gun out and shoot her. To do my part in saving us all, in saving my daughter. But she's still trying to stop me.
"Down. Now," Jadis ordered of me as I backed up a little. If she shoots me, that's it. And I have to live. We have to live. We. Are. The. Ones. Who. Live.
Not listening to her orders, I couldn't be weak when my people were trying to be strong. I can't comply with their rules anymore. "We can make another deal," I tried anything, to save my skin. But Jadis had shot my side and it caused me to collapse. "Aah!" I yelled from the shot that sliced my side.
Groaning, I was crawling on my hands and knees, trying to regain my strength, to hold my composure and get back to my feet. But a foot came to my hip and kicked me off the edge, landing on the hard floor. "Aah!" I screamed as I fell. Darkness overwhelmed me as I collapsed onto the ground and tried to regain my senses.

As soon as shots were being fired, I knew I'd be safe, as long as I didn't get in front of any Saviors. As I went to find any kind of weapon, or went to escape, I felt a hand drag me down, pushing me under cover.
"Not yet," Dwight encouraged me to wait a little longer before taking my chance to escape. I was still in Savior territory and that meant, if I stepped so far out of line, I could be the first thing they shoot.
Gazing into his eyes, I panted, as I saw my brother be the brave one to start the fire fight. I need to get to him. Dwight's eyes were filled with concern and sincerity as they looked into mine. "Lay low," Dwight encouraged me to keep myself safe. Anything can go wrong. I need to trust him.

Staying still all through the exchange Negan and Rick were going through, eventually, the Scavenger went to attack me, using the butt of their gun to hit me in the face, knocking my gun out of my hands. My hands went up to take hold of her gun and stop her from using it.
As we struggled, I tossed her gun over the balcony and threw a punch at her face, only to have her knee me in the stomach. Trying to tackle her, I threw a punch to her rib and she elbowed me in the face. Grunts were echoing with each hit we were taking from each other.
Through the hits and struggles, we got the upper hand on each other from time to time, as punches, kicks, knees and elbows were thrown at each other. Blocking one of my attacks, she had my wrist, twisting my arm behind me, as my other hand tried to prop my body off the ground.
Her hand grabbing the back of my neck, as her hand pushed my face repetitively against the floor, banging my teeth against it, until my lips were bloody and swollen. Turning to look at her, just as I was getting my strength back, she threw a punch at my face.
My back to the ground, from the hit, one of my eyes, was closed, swollen from the hits against the wall and her fists I'd taken. But I wasn't going to go down. Doing the same trick that worked for Kat, I went for her eyes but my breath was slowly leaving me, as her hands gripped my neck, tighter and tighter.
Instead, I grasped her fingers, hearing her growl. I reached for one of the broken plant pots that shattered during our fight, got a piece of it and stabbed her ear. Gasping for breath, I felt her let me go, possibly to grab her stabbed ear as she climbed off me. Giving me a chance to breathe and regain my strength to keep fighting.
We are the ones that win. I would tell myself. As I got to my feet, I threw a punch to her face, or so I hoped from the one eye I could look out of. Picking up my piece of the broken flower pot, I was grabbed by the throat and by the wrist, forced to run backwards.
As she was trying to push me off the edge of the balcony. My grip on the flower pot piece was tight, as I grasped her wrist, trying to get her to let go of my face. "We'll win!" I gurgled through my panting and my back arching off the roof.
"We live!" I was trying to give myself the strength I needed as I was slowly bringing the piece closer to her face. "We're the ones! Us!" I grunted as she kept pushing me to bend my back further back. Grunting, eventually, my hand came down on her, cutting her across the face.
She grunted, letting me go, she grasped at her face, using the plant pot piece, I kept stabbing it against her chest and neck, until, eventually, I pushed her off the edge of the balcony. Falling to the ground, panting for air as her screams echoed into my eardrums. We are the ones who live.

As soon as Sasha attacked Negan, I knew it was my chance to protect us. The second I pulled out my pistol, I began shooting at anyone in our way. From Saviors, to Scavengers, I didn't care. Whoever was in the way of me, my sister and our freedom, was going to die.
Being the one to start the shots, the rest began to fight back. From Scott, to Francine, all of us were fighting. Then those beneath us began firing shots too, trying to get as many Saviors and Scavengers as we could.
As Eric, Aaron and the others made it back to the ground, I stayed where I was and began shooting at the Saviors. Trying to clear a path so Kat could run back to us, but Dwight was ducking down, protecting her.
I had heard that he was the only Savior on our side, looking after my sister and seeing how he kept her down, I knew he was really on our side. I need to save her. I need to get my sister back. I'll kill every last one of them until she's safe again.
Staying beside Scott, we had climbed back down and kept fighting between the trucks, using them as cover as we'd move around them to have an advantage over the Saviors and the Scavengers that fought against us.
Using my assault rifle, I kept my head screwed on, as one mistake could cost me everything I worked so hard for. I can't let them win. Letting them win, means Kat has to stay with them. And I'm not going to let that happen.
The moment Scott left me alone, I went to give him instructions but saw an empty space beside me. Just as I went to shoot, Simon and a few of his guys stopped me. Kat was hidden behind them, as Dwight was staying protectively beside her.
"Lower the gun, kid," Simon ordered and I knew, I was outnumbered. Shit.
DPOV
Once Carl fired the first shot, all of us began. As I began shooting the Scavengers that were far too close to me, then the Saviors that were defending the Scavengers as we fired at them. They had shot Rosita, but Tara had saved her. As I reloaded, Rosita and Tara ran past me, as I continued to take aim at the Saviors in front of me.
I'm going to kill them all. I was determined to get my life back. To get my girlfriend back. As I rushed to attack others, I was soon running out of ammo for my gun, so I decided to take up the next gun I could find and hid behind cover.
Trying to see Kat, or Dwight, I couldn't find either of them. Negan was nowhere to be found either, as I kept my head low and did my best to fight against them, until I chose to hide. Especially as Saviors began swarming in.

Feeling a hand go to my shirt, it tugged me to my feet and as I was slowly returning to consciousness, I had been groaning and rolling around in pain. Getting to my feet, a gun to my back, Jadis had been the one to force me back to reality, to move down the streets of corpses on the sides of the streets.
Bleeding out as I held onto my side, I had seen Saviors and Scavengers alike holding my people hostage, to sit on their knees. My people were laid out dead, mixed with bodies of Saviors and Scavengers.
The sight alone, was horrific but something I knew was a price to our freedom. Being lead to a small clearing, by our homes, I saw Simon, Dwight, Kat and another Savior stood to her right but with his back to her slightly.
Carl, was on his knees and wasn't armed. The sight alone, gave me flashbacks to the night Glenn and Abraham were murdered. "Move," Jadis ordered as she dug the gun into my side, making me gasp in pain. Shoving me forward, she guided me to the group of Saviors and Negan exited one of our homes.
"Hello again," Negan greeted me, messing around with his bat as Kat stood in front of Dwight while a Savior stood in front of her and I was guided to the spot beside Carl.
Jadis had been guiding me to this spot as I glanced to my daughter, who looked just as lost as I felt. Her eyes glued to the floor as she stayed deadly still. It's unlike her to speak. But she's got to look out for two now. "Down," Jadis ordered. "Or again," Jadis warned me she'd shoot me again.
Dropping down to my knees, I wasn't going to let her kill me or shoot me, not when I had my children so close. A reason for me to fight. And a grandchild on the way. Which was more of a reason to fight.
Negan began his approach to me, passing my daughter but thankfully, without doing anything to her to make my blood boil. "Well, shit, Rick. You just couldn't stick with us, huh?" Negan asked me. "You had to go with these filthy garbage people?" Negan questioned me before I could even answer him.
Not that I had wanted to answer him. "No offense," Negan then brought his attention to Jadis.
"Deal is for twelve, yes?" Jadis asked him.
"Ten," Negan began the negotiation with Jadis. "People are a resource," Negan stated his way of thinking to her.
But I knew Jadis and I knew she wouldn't back down easily. "Twelve," Jadis whispered. Silence had taken over for a few seconds, to which I could guess the two were out staring each other. "Ten," Jadis agreed with Negan's first and only deal.
Gunfire could be heard in the distance as I assumed my people had kept fighting. Chuckling, soon was followed by a sigh off Negan. "Rick," Negan said my name with little enthusiasm. "This is just gonna make you sad. Broken," Negan told me.
Negan moved away from my daughter, away from his Savior stood in front of her and strolled behind me. "You're gonna wish you were dead," Negan assumed. His sighs were getting softer and more constant. "I like having fun. I do," Negan said, like I cared for what he enjoyed or not.
All I knew, was he enjoyed torturing people and watching them suffer. "But maybe you think that the guy that did what he did to your friends wasn't me, like that was some sort of a put-on, like I'm not the guy with the bat-I'm just the guy that makes your kid spaghetti," Negan rambled on as he eventually stopped in front of Carl.
Possibly, so he could get a good look at the three of us. Turning my head to look at him, this time, I wasn't afraid of him. He can think what he wants. He's a dead man walking. "Oh. Oh, shit," Negan rest his fingertips to his forehead, like he'd just felt a migraine coming on.
"Maybe this is on me. Maybe this is all on me," Negan was realising as he saw my eyes glare up at him. "I gotta make it right," Negan was mostly talking to himself, or so I believed. "I guess I gotta start all over again," Negan was hinting he was going to kill one of us again.
I know what he's going to try and do. He's going to try and kill Carl in front of me. "I gotta tell you, Rick, when me and Kat have our kid, I'd want him to be just like your kid, which makes this so much harder," Negan rambled on about the lie my daughter fed him.
Little does he know, that's Daryl's kid and not his. "Considering, all of us here, we're all family now," Negan's eyes were glued to mine as a small smirk grew on his face.
Carl's head whipped up to look up at him. "You're not gonna win," Carl snarled up at him.
"Carl," Negan said as he turned his attention to my son. "It is over," Negan tried to convince us this was fact instead of fiction. "Why don't you point your one ball up the street there and take it all in?" Negan suggested to Carl as Negan leaned down to talk to him directly.

Seeing how Negan was treating my family, threatening to possibly kill them in front of me, I knew that if he did that, our deal was more than finished. Our deal never started to begin with but he doesn't know that. "Negan, please. Don't-" I pleaded of him.
Instead, Negan's eyes returned to me, his eyes were slightly amused by my plea to leave my family alone. "I really wish I could, darlin'. But how can I keep a promise to you?...If your family are going to keep screwin' up our perfect little life together?" Negan asked of me.
"They want the father of your child to die...and I need you to see that..." Negan had leaned back to stand fairly straight, his bat resting on his shoulder but the sight of Marco sometimes blocked my gaze with Negan or my family, as Negan tried to reason with me.
Marco was staying close to me, close to my family, like a shield, keeping me from them. "It's the whole reason why I brought you here today, so you can see not what I want to do, but what your family made me do," Negan explained as he shifted a little to one side.
Feeling my skin boil, I was ready to rip him to shreds. "You-" I went to move past Marco and to Negan, but I felt a hand grab my wrist and pull me back.
"Don't," Dwight's little voice told me, as he got close enough to my ear to sound both threatening and protective. He's putting on a show, for them.
As I went to open my mouth, nothing came out but a loud scream, a woman screaming sounded off in the distance. Catching sight of my father, curling forward, like he lost the world. Seeing Carl staring blankly, his lip trembling as he gazed at a spot, I realised who we just lost.
Michonne. No. "Ohh. Oh," Negan appeared amused by the way my family was breaking down. "Wow," Negan whispered, acting falsely stunned as he crouched down in front of my father. "You just lost somebody important to you right now. Like, just now," Negan figured out my dad's small breakdown.
Thinking Michonne was dead, I felt my gloved hand clench up into a fist. "Jesus. That is timing," Negan mocked. "Well, Rick...you chose this," Negan tried to make this seem like reason enough. "I truly don't know what more I could've done to warn you," Negan was making up excuses for his next actions.
"And this isn't a warning. This is punishment," Negan told my dad as my dad would barely look at him until he finally looked Negan dead in the eye. "I'm gonna kill Carl now," Negan announced. Like hell he is. "I'm gonna make it one nice, hard swing, try to do it in one because I like him," Negan acted like he actually cared about my brother.
If he likes my brother that much, he wouldn't do this. And to prove a point? What a sick asshole. "I just want you to put that in your brain and roll it around for a minute. I'm gonna kill Carl, and then Lucille here, she's gonna take your hands," Negan began telling my dad everything, rather than doing it as he showed my dad the bat.
It's like he's stalling to make it worse. But my father, he didn't quake, he didn't break. Instead, he glared Negan directly in the eyes. "You can do it right in front of me. You can take my hands," dad encouraged Negan to do his worst. "I told you already. I'm gonna kill you. All of you," dad told them firmly.
Feeling my body straighten up, I was ready. More ready than ever to fight. That's my dad. "Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow...but nothing is gonna change that. Nothing," my dad said, sounding far more menacing than Negan ever was."You're all already dead," dad was stone cold as he said this to Negan.
This however, only amused Negan as he began chuckling. "Damn. Wow, Rick. Okay," Negan mused at my dad's words, as he whispered his words, like he was processing it but didn't really care for his threats. Negan thinks they are empty but my dad, he's saying the truth.
Grunting, Negan got to his feet and went to stand behind my brother, removing his hat. I saw my brother's eyes shut as he was ready for the blow. My body tenser than I ever felt it before. As I watched Negan raise his bat, he said "You said I could do it," before a tiger leapt out, roaring as it sunk its teeth in to one of the Saviors behind him.
In that second, I didn't hesitate. I used my foot to knock the back of Marco's knee out, at the same time, my hands went to both of his holsters. Taking out his gun and knife at the same time. I stabbed the knife into the side of his skull, letting Negan see this. As my gun rose to shoot any Saviors in my way.
"She is a god damn badass!" Negan shouted proudly as he looked to me. Armed and dangerous, I was ready to fight back as I began shooting at anyone that got in the way of me and my family. Taking this opening from the tiger and myself, Negan hid, while Dwight and Simon began shooting at the beast that saved us.

As soon as the Saviors began backing off, trying to escape Shiva out of fear, people from the Kingdom, including the King himself, appeared from behind the houses and began shooting with Kat. "End these Saviors and their accomplices!" Ezekiel ordered. "Alexandria will not fall, not on this day!" Ezekiel announced, all King like.
As the gunfire continued and Kat came to our side, along with the tiger that was sinking his teeth into the screaming Savior, I knew we were winning again. I had hope again. Especially, now that Kat was here with us.
Scrambling towards a gun, I left Kat to defend her brother as she kept beside him and shot any Saviors that aimed at them. Just when I saw a guy approaching as my hand reached for a gun, I thought I was dead.
Until a shot went straight through his head. Looking for the one who saved me, that was when Maggie, Jesus and the rest of the Hilltop approached us. "Phalanx out, third group, now! Move up!" Maggie ordered.
Daryl then approached us, as he saw us there, looking out for me as I was ready to join the fight. "Now we got your backs!" Daryl ordered as I grabbed the gun, moved to aim at them and began firing.

Seeing Daryl, Maggie and other people join us, I knew that these were people my dad had been rounding up to help us in the war against the Saviors. Proud of us all, I looked to my father, who just got saved by Maggie, we nodded to each other and kept fighting. As we kept shooting, I went over to the tiger, who had finished mauling the person to death.
Luckily, the gun fell far from the body, picking it up, I turned to Carl. "Carl!" I yelled, tossing him the gun as I watched him catch it. Once he was armed, I knew we were safe. Using my knife hand to prop my gun up, I kept shooting at Saviors that were in our way. Firing as I saw Daryl get as close to me as he could, I knew he was only there to protect me.
But eventually, we parted ways as I kept close to my family and he stayed close to those from the Hilltop. We can do this. Together. As I kept close to my dad and Carl, we kept fighting until the area was getting clearer and clearer while they were retreating from our home.
DPOV
Trying to stay close to Kat during the fire fight, I knew then, that Kat was capable of handling herself as she handled herself better with a pistol than the rest of us that were using assault rifles instead.
As we watched them trying to leave, we chased after them and kept moving, pushing them out. Eventually, a smoke covered our lines of vision as we kept ourselves on high alert and eventually, I had come across Maggie. All of us lowered our guns when we quickly realised it was her. We can do this. Together.

As we kept fighting, even Morgan joined in to fight against the Saviors. Killing them, doing something I never expected him to do. Thanking him with a nod, for saving me, we kept fighting and kept pushing them out of our home, as far as we could until all of them were either gone, or dead.
But today, was a firm beginning to prove we no longer belonged to the Saviors. When smoke soon covered our lines of vision, we all needed to get somewhere safe. This was when we all somehow grouped behind the RV. "They're falling back," I said.
"Eduardo, Bertie, between the houses," Maggie began giving instructions to her people. "Cover the gate!" Maggie ordered as those she ordered ran off to do what they set out to do, while those from the Kingdom stayed with us.
Gunfire echoed in the distance. "Let's go," Maggie said softly to Jesus and Enid as they all left to fight.
The King glanced to us, as I briefly gazed to my two children, back with me once more and fighting this war alongside me. "Now we finish this!" Ezekiel said proudly as he and the others charged off to return to the fight. Myself, Carl and Kat followed them as Kat kept close to me. I'm the one who's supposed to be protecting her.
As we ran, we went towards the gate but shots at our feet stopped us from chasing them. Forcing us to scramble off to one side, as our gates were closed and we tried to regroup. We can do this. I know we can.
DPOV
As soon as the Saviors left, with a lot of fire power chasing after them, the Scavengers were the ones to stop our group from chasing after the rest of them. Chasing them down, as they tried to fire at us, Kat and her family rushed off to one side, leaving us all there as they went looking for Michonne, or so I assumed.
I kept firing at those that were in close range and saw that the others were still trying to retreat behind the gates. "Now!" I ordered, gesturing for them to come out of hiding and to keep fighting and to open the gates.
Aaron, Jerry, Bertie and Morgan had tried pulling the gates open, while I climbed up on one of their trucks to get a good look to see where they disappeared off to. But when I got up there, I saw nothing. They were gone, they had disappeared like the smoke that was now settling. Looking to those below, even to those below me, I didn't know what to say to them.
There was nothing and I couldn't stop them, even if I wanted to. I need to go find Kat. I need to find her...
CPOV
As we went back, to look for Michonne, Kat had stayed close to me and dad as she followed us to both protect us and to get back to her friend. Looking at the spot we thought Michonne was going to be, we were met with the Scavenger girl she went up there with instead, splattered, bloody and on the ground. Dead.
As the both of us laugh, Kat cried of happiness and we all ran to find Michonne. To see if she was okay.
As me and Kat were carefully going up to the top, I helped her take her time, but Kat was being insistent that she was fine. That she could handle it. That she was pregnant, not fragile. Having her back, it made me feel light again. Everything, it felt right again.
Like I could do anything. As we got to Michonne, dad was crouched down in front of her, caressing her face and trying to look into her eyes as Michonne hummed from the pain she must of been in. What we found, was she was bloody, covered in it, from possibly her own blood and the blood of the woman she just killed. Overall, Michonne looked pretty beat up.
"We-W-We're...We're..." Michonne tried to say as I lowered my gun to one side, while Kat dropped her weapons to one side and crouched down beside her.
Dad understood what she was trying to say, as he nodded and touched her face gently. Kat was beside me, crying from happiness as she went to hold Michonne's hand. "I know. I know," dad reassured Michonne he knew what she was trying to say. "I know," dad nodded. "We are," dad agreed. "We will," dad promised her.
As I heard Kat crying, she rest her head on my shoulder, as I laced an arm around her back, helping her to stand back up. While dad and Michonne hugged, I forced Kat to slowly let Michonne's hand go, as I didn't want her in this crouched position for too long.
Not with her state. As we slowly stood up, her arms wrapped tightly around me, as we shared this moment with dad and Michonne. We're all safe. We're all together again. Nothing is going to bring us apart. Ever again.

As we guided Michonne down, I wasn't permitted to help carry Michonne, but I was allowed to protect them from any remaining Saviors or Scavengers as we went to take Michonne to the infirmary, to get her cleaned up and stitched up.
Coming across Daryl, he gazed at me, long and longingly, as we both stopped where we stood. Dad and Carl too had stopped with Michonne in their arms, as they saw us staring at each other. So many words. So many words left unsaid.
Looking to my dad, he went to offer me a bloody hand, giving it a gentle squeeze and a nod, he let me go. My dad was letting me go, to be with Daryl, while he would take Michonne to the infirmary. Slowly, I went to Daryl, as he met me in the middle.
"Is it?..." Daryl asked as he stopped in front of me, his hand went to cup my tiny bump and a let out a sad little laugh of joy. Daryl's bottom lip was wobbling as I smiled at him and felt my eyes soften. As did his.
"Yes," I whispered, nodding at the same time. For the longest moment, we were silent. His tears rolled down his cheeks as mine rolled too. Daryl was the first to rest his forehead against mine, protective and as though pleading for forgiveness.
My hand reached up to wipe his tears away as I slowly pulled him into an embrace. Shutting my eyes, I let the moment take over as we forgave each other and finally became the family we were slowly developing into. I am so glad to be back where I belong.
As we pulled back, I had placed a few kisses to cheek, his shoulder and neck. As to tell him all was forgiven and that I was just glad to be safe again. When we pulled away from one another, we both felt eyes on us. Our heads slowly turned to see Maggie looking to us with a sad smile. Oh, Maggie...

Since we got Michonne to the infirmary, they patched her up and did their best to help her and told me she'd recover smoothly. All we needed to do, was wait and let her rest. As I sat beside her bed, I held her hand and thought through everything we'd been through.
Thought over what happened today. How we had to fight Jadis and her people, how they betrayed us but that in the end, they lead Kat right back to us. We're all safe now. And Michonne will recover. And I can help Kat in all the ways I didn't help Lori when she was carrying Judith.
Images of Kat, of Daryl, how they looked to each other, that gave me hope for me and Michonne. For all of us. For Kat and Daryl themselves. They are building their own family and I'm happy to get to witness that.

While Kat went to talk to Maggie and then visit Michonne, I began sweeping the place, checking to make sure all of them were dead. Meanwhile, Carl was outside the walls, doing a sweep, to make sure no one was lurking outside our walls. Meanwhile, Maggie and Jesus did the same but were also out there to look for Sasha.
Closing the gates once everyone got back, I noticed something tucked behind the gate latch, it was a figurine made of wood, of a soldier, that I knew the craftsmanship of. Dwight. Taking the little figure, I inspected it and noticed it had writing on the back.
Didn't know. The back of the figure had written in permanent marker on it. Thinking it over, Kat was safe. She didn't get dragged by Dwight when he had her in his reach. And so far, he'd said the truth. Like Kat did, I have to try and trust him...

Deciding to meet with Maggie, she was the only one that could of known of Sasha's plans, or at least I had hope she did. "Do you think Sasha did that herself?" I asked her as we stood in front of each other, face to face.
Crossing her arms, Maggie bowed her head and then rose her eyes to meet my gaze. "I don't know how, but I know she did," Maggie answered me in a way.
Nodding, I too felt the loss of Sasha today but the fact she had wanted to take Negan out before he could hurt us, it gave us a chance to fight. "She gave us a chance," I gave Sasha the credit she deserved. "You did. You made the right decision to come," I told her, pleased she finally chose to fight with us and to end the Saviors.
As Maggie's eyes held mine, there was a calmness behind them as she gently took out the watch Hershel passed down to Glenn. "The decision was made a long time ago, before any of us knew each other, when we were all strangers who would have just passed each other on the street before the world ended," Maggie began her little speech.
"And now we mean everything to each other," Maggie pointed out how different things were now that walkers existed. "You were in trouble. You were trapped. Glenn didn't know you, but he helped you. He put himself in danger for you. And that started it all," Maggie reminded me of it all.
Feeling a few tears build, I furiously stopped them by pinching them. "From Atlanta, to my daddy's farm, to the prison, to here...to this moment now...not as strangers. As family..." Maggie told me, making me nod at her. We're family now.
"Because Glenn chose to be there for you that day a long time ago. That was the decision that changed everything. It started with both of you, and it just grew..." Maggie mused as she smiled sadly to her watch. "To all of us..." Maggie's eyes rose to meet mine again.
Her words, they were inspiring and so soft as she spoke. "To sacrifice for each other...to suffer and stand, to grieve, to give, to love, to live...to fight for each other," Maggie listed everything that came with what happened so long ago.
The memories of Atlanta, to a time that was so complicated back then but looked so simple compared to now, I felt empowered by her speech. "Glenn made the decision, Rick. I was just following his lead," Maggie told me with a sad smile at the end.
Nodding, I knew Glenn was the reason for all of this. If he didn't save me, I wouldn't be here right now. I'm no hero. Glenn was the hero. He was the one that started it all.

Once I had a few talks with some of those I cared for, those I hadn't seen in what felt like forever, I decided to get out of my clothes. Even as my father spoke to me, averting his gaze, as I got into something else, I finally felt like I was slowly letting the darkness Negan surrounded me with go.
Leaving with my father, he told me the leaders were going to stand together and discuss how they were going to move forward. How we were going to win the Saviors. I had to be there for it, because all I had done, wasn't for nothing. It couldn't be for nothing.
As Ezekiel, Maggie and my dad stood atop a higher platform, they began making a speech together, discussing how we were going to fight the Saviors. How they no longer owned us. That from now on, we fought, together and we were going to take back what was rightfully ours.
From our lives, to our freedom, to our happiness and everything that came with it. That we, were worth fighting for what we have. For our future. Hearing this, I felt Carl come up beside me, taking my hand as I looked to him and smiled.
Then, shortly after, I felt Daryl wrap an arm around my shoulders, his other hand resting lightly on my stomach, as my free hand rest over his shoulder. All of us gazed up at the three leaders, that were a united front. I'm safe. I'm home. And I have everything I could ever want. Need. Right here. My family. My friends. My freedom.
Feeling a little tear roll down my cheek, I went to wipe it against my shoulder, but Daryl caught sight of it and wiped it away for me using the hand that had been holding our little bud. Our eyes met and as our foreheads rest, our eyes shut tightly as we did our best to forget everything bad that happened to us, that only made us stronger.
When our eyes opened, our lips slowly met, eyes shutting only momentarily in the tender touch. And as we pulled away, resting our heads against one another's, that was when I knew. We could do it all. Together. And nothing was going to break us again.
We were only going to become stronger.
A/N: And there is season 7, wrapped up with a pretty little bow for you all. How tense was it? And how incredible was this season?! I loved this one, definitely. Now that Kat is back with her family, with the father of her child, Kat is going to be unstoppable and their greatest weapon. With Negan thinking Kat is still pregnant with his child, he won't harm her but Kat knows every weak spot of each of his outposts and the Sanctuary. She knows how he leads, she knows everything.
I'm super happy with this ending for this season but...we all know what's coming next. It's only going to get harder from here on out, sadly. Very, very little victories and a lot of slopes for the Grimes and others to deal with. Get ready. It's going to be a tear-jerker of a season.
NOW, AS OF LATELY, I HAVE BEEN GETTING VERY FEW RESPONSES AS TO HOW THIS STORY IS GOING. SO, FROM NOW ON. I'LL ASK FOR THE REGULAR 5 REVIEWS, FOR IT TO BE POSTED IN A FORTNIGHT'S TIME. IF NOT, IT'LL BE POSTPONED UNTIL TWO WEEKS TIME AFTER THE REGULAR UPDATES. SO THE QUICKER I GET THE 10 REVIEWS I'LL BE ASKING FOR, TO WRAP UP THIS SEASON, THE SOONER YOU'LL GET YOUR NEXT CHAPTER.
