Chapter 11 Gifts and Departure

The next day, once they were all well-rested from the events of the previous day, the Fellowship and Team Natsu were now preparing to depart from Lothlorien and continue their long journey they have ahead of them as the elves had also prepared three boats for their departure which Natsu was avoiding going near because of his motion sickness since just being near the boats was enough to make him want to puke his guts out which Happy had to end up explaining to the elves of Lothlorien so they would understand. Lucy, meanwhile, was now seen wearing Gandalf's hat which had become her way of honoring his memory as she and Erza were both helping Aragorn, Legolas, and Boromir with loading their supplies that the elves had provided them with onto the boats. Lucy's leg was also doing a little better since yesterday when she had dislocated it back in the mines when they were still taking out that cave troll, but thanks to Wendy it was healing nicely back into place as she could walk on it again despite still having a slight limp due to still not being fully healed yet though she didn't mind as long as she was able to walk on it again. While Wendy, Carla, Gray, and even Juvia were also helping the rest of the Fellowship prepare to depart from Lothlorien to continue their quest, well Juvia only wanted to join them simply because she wanted to be with Gray though the Fellowship still accepted her as a new ally in their quest anyway.

"So Lucy, nice hat," Juvia commented sarcastically with an amused smirk to the Celestial wizard who was now seen wearing Gandalf's hat.

Lucy smiled slightly. "Thanks," she replied only to see the rainwoman's amused expression suddenly change to her jealous wrath.

"If this is your way of trying to get Gray-sama to notice you, then Juvia still refuses to lose him to you," Juvia suddenly declared accusingly.

Lucy just sweat-dropped at that. "Geez, and I thought I keep telling you I have no interest in him like that other than just plain friendship, so you can go ahead and have him."

The Fellowship was confused as to why Juvia would accuse Lucy of trying to get Gray to notice her when they assumed that the Celestial wizard was Natsu's girlfriend not Gray's, though they chose not to do anything about it at the moment since both girls weren't really bothering anyone.

Once the Fellowship was ready to depart, Celeborn and Galadriel had arrived to see them off as well as present each member of the Fellowship and Team Natsu with gifts that would help them on their quest. Celeborn had also gifted each member of the Fellowship and Team Natsu with elven cloaks while stating that never before had they clad strangers in the garb of their own people. "May these cloaks help shield you from unfriendly eyes," he told all of them.

Galadriel then came forward to present them all with individual gifts as well to each member of the Fellowship. Legolas had received a new bow, Merry and Pippin were each given a dagger of the Noldorin, Sam was given Elven rope, Gimli wanted nothing except to look upon Galadriel one more time and also asked her for one hair of her head but instead received three, Boromir had received a gold belt, and for Aragorn she had nothing to give him except the gift he already had received which was the pendant that Arwen had given him back in Rivendell, and Frodo had received some sort of crystal phial thing.

Galadriel then turned to the members of Team Natsu as they each in turn received their gifts. "For you, Natsu Dragneel, my gift to you is this-" she presented him with what looked like a unique-looking sword, "-a flame-sword forged from the fiery breath of the Fire Dragon King himself. Use it well, young Fire Dragon Slayer and son of Igneel," she told him as she handed it to him.

Natsu's eyes widened in awe as he unsheathed it part way to reveal that the blade was made entirely of flames while the hilt of the sword was elven-made. "Whoa, this is awesome! Thanks!" he replied with a grin as he sheathed it again, grateful for the gift as this was now the second thing from Igneel aside from his scarf that his foster father gave to him back when he had first left him in the year X777 back in their world, though it also made him wonder how she knew about Igneel when dragons in Middle Earth were supposed to be evil. But he didn't want to question the matter, so he just kept it to himself.

Galadriel smiled kindly at his enthusiasm. "But be sure to handle a sword like this carefully and with the proper restraint, and not use it recklessly," she advised him, before also handing him another gift as well which was a red pendant that was hanging from a thin silver chain. "I also understand that you have a problem involving motion sickness, this pendant will be able to help prevent that as long as you are wearing it." Natsu gratefully thanked her for it as he immediately placed it around his neck so he wouldn't lose it.

Galadriel then turned to the next member of Team Natsu. "Erza Scarlet, for you I return your sets of armor that you have requested to have improvement on to be made stronger while you are here in Middle Earth."

Erza nodded gratefully as she accepted all of her armors back and put them all back into her requip storage where she would use them later. "Thank you, Lady Galadriel."

Galadriel nodded, again smiling kindly as she also handed the Titania a new sword crafted by elven blacksmiths making it the most beautiful elven-made sword Erza had ever seen. "You are also a very skilled warrior for a woman, perhaps in time you may end up proving to be an inspiration to any other women you may encounter throughout Middle Earth who will wish to show their worth and prove that they can fight just as honorably alongside men in battle."

Erza nodded, smiling slightly. "Again, thank you. I shall treasure it always," she replied as she accepted the sword, gazing at it in awe at how beautifully crafted it was, before adding it into her requip storage to use later.

Galadriel then moved on to Lucy next as she then presented the Celestial wizard with her gift. "Lucy Heartfilia, for one whose magic shines as brightly as the spirits that guide your way my gift to you is a new set of Celestial Spirit gate keys that will help you out in any situation whenever you have need of them. As well as this pendant that was crafted out of stardust and will amplify your magic power to help you fight alongside your spirits without growing too weary and exhausting your magic energy. But it will also have another use which you will soon come to know when the time is right." She then handed Lucy a set of bronze gate keys, as well as a light silver-blue star-shaped pendant that was hanging from a silver chain.

Lucy gave a small smile as she accepted them. "Thank you, Lady Galadriel," she replied politely while bowing slightly.

Galadriel smiled kindly. "Wearing Gandalf's is also a fine way of honoring his memory, and it suits you." Lucy just gave a small smile to that as Galadriel continued. "And you will also have an important role here in Middle Earth involving helping Frodo on this quest."

Lucy somehow found herself nodding in understanding, as Galadriel then moved onto the next member of Team Natsu. "Gray Fullbuster, a new set of clothes that have been specially made to be impervious to your...strange habit... Unless of course you are removing them willingly, whereas subconsciously you will not be able to remove them at all," Galadriel said as she handed a suddenly embarrassed Gray his gift.

"Er, uh, th-thanks," Gray sputtered awkwardly in embarrassment after taking notice of his lack of clothes while immediately putting them on after accepting them.

Natsu suddenly snickered.

"Shut up, flame-for-brains! At least it's better than a flame-sword and a dumb motion sick-proof pendant!" Gray suddenly told him.

"Oh yeah?! Better a flame-sword and motion sick-proof pendant than strip-proof clothes!" Natsu shot back defensively as they both were now seen butting heads and glaring at each other.

"Boys~," Erza suddenly said in her sweetly scary voice that immediately made them stop and start to behave themselves again.

"Somebody get me a staff so I can continue where Gandalf left off in his game of whack-a-moron," Lucy muttered dryly and making Natsu and Gray suddenly panic and hug each other in fear as she said that after taking notice that she had started wearing Gandalf's hat now since yesterday and realized what that meant for them.

"A-Anything but the head-whacking-staff-of-doom again!" Natsu exclaimed frantically.

"Y-Yeah, w-we're behaving ourselves! See?" Gray added as they both immediately stopped bickering with each other much to both Erza's and Lucy's approval, as Galadriel continued with the gifts.

"Wendy Marvell, for you a healing elixir that with one drop can cure any injury. May it be of use to you during times when your own healing magic fails you or is not powerful enough," Galadriel said as she handed Wendy a small bottle filled with a red liquid.

"Thank you, Lady Galadriel," Wendy said, giving a small polite bow as she accepted it while inwardly she also wished that she could have had this elixir earlier back when Frodo had been stabbed on Weathertop when her healing magic hadn't been enough then before they had arrived in Rivendell, though like everyone else she was still glad that Elrond had been able to fully heal him then, as she gratefully accepted her gift.

"There is also one more that I have for you," Galadriel added while also presenting the Sky Maiden with the most beautiful pair of silver-colored elven-made hair ribbons she had ever seen. "Use them to tie your hair back if you should ever happen to find yourself in battle in order to keep your hair out of the way, and they will also serve as protection for you when the time comes for it."

"Wow, they're so pretty," Wendy said awe as she gratefully accepted the ribbons while carefully tying them in her hair.

Galadriel smiled as she then turned to Happy and Carla. "As for the two Exceeds, Happy and Carla, you each receive a dagger of the Noldorin much like the ones that young Merry and Peregrin have already received. They too have already seen their service in war, may you use them well young Exceeds."

"Aye sir! Thanks," Happy replied as he gratefully accepted his.

Carla smiled slightly as she too also gratefully accepted hers. "Yes, thank you," she added.

Galadriel then moved onto the final Fairy Tail wizard. "And last, but not least, Juvia Lockser." She then presented Juvia with what appeared to be a bow made entirely of water. "I understand that you are quite a powerful water mage in your world, especially when it comes to fighting for the one you love. But you will soon have an important role here in Middle Earth as you fight alongside your friends, which is why I present you with this rare elven bow made entirely out of a special elven water. It also has the ability to transform into any other sort of water weapon you desire that you can control at will," she explained as she handed the rainwoman her gift.

"Thank you, Lady Galadriel," Juvia replied while giving a polite bow as she accepted her gift from the elven woman.

Once the Fellowship and Team Natsu had all received their gifts, they were now ready to depart as they were now preparing to get into the boats. Natsu, Lucy, and Happy would be sharing a boat with Legolas and Gimli. Gray and Juvia were with Aragorn, Frodo, and Sam in the same boat. While Erza, Wendy, and Carla were sharing a boat with Boromir, Merry, and Pippin -although Happy and Carla could also be seen flying alongside the boats most of the time as well. As the Fellowship and Team Natsu were now seen rowing down the river and leaving Lothlorien to continue their quest, Juvia was suddenly shooting a smug look in Lucy's direction which didn't go unnoticed by the Celestial Wizard.

Lucy sighed. "I'm not sure I wanna know what that smug look is for," she muttered with a deadpanned expression.

Juvia just smirked. "Oh, no reason, other than the fact that Juvia's gift is way better than yours. Even Gray-sama agrees, right Gray-sama?" she asked while turning to look over at her beloved.

"Huh? Yeah, I guess," Gray replied indifferently while not really paying much attention to what she was saying much to Juvia's sudden dismay that he wasn't paying attention, while Lucy just sweat-dropped but otherwise ignored the rainwoman's gloating as she didn't really care who's gift was better or not.

The Fellowship were just watching, with some of them giving off deadpanned looks.

"I thought Lucy liked Natsu, not Gray," Pippin suddenly blurted out.

"W-what?!" Lucy squeaked with embarrassment, her face turning red.

"Say what now?" a confused Natsu added, unaware of what they were talking about as he had only heard his name being mentioned.

"Aye! She loooooooooves him~!" Happy teased in reply to Pippin, while holding his paws over his mouth to stifle his giggles.

"Shut it, cat!" Lucy told him, as Happy suddenly found himself being whacked on the head.

"Owie, my poor little noggin," Happy whimpered, as everyone was all staring at Lucy for some reason.

Lucy blinked as she noticed everyone's eyes on her. "What? Why's everyone staring at me like that?" she asked in confusion.

"Well I think it's because we're all wondering where that staff came from that you suddenly have," Frodo pointed out to her.

"Huh? What sta-" Lucy suddenly looked at her hand to realize that she was indeed holding the most beautifully made staff she had ever seen that seemed to be made out of stardust just like the pendant she received from Galadriel. "Whoa! I wonder if this is what Lady Galadriel meant when she said it would have another use that I would come to know when the time was right. Awesome, this must be it!" she said happily before shooting a smug look in Natsu and Gray's direction. "So you boys better behave unless you want me to play whack-a-moron on you, got it?" she told them, as Natsu and Gray were both suddenly scared into behaving at seeing Lucy with a staff.

"A-aye!" "Y-yes ma'am!" both boys exclaimed in fear in unison, followed by Gray adding frantically, "We'll behave from now on, we promise!" "Y-yeah, we don't want the head-whacking-staff-of-doom coming down on us!" Natsu also added just as frantically.

"Now the question is, how do I get this to turn back into the pendant it originally was?" Lucy suddenly asked while looking at her new staff, as she concentrated her magic energy into the staff until it suddenly became a star-shaped pendant once more. "There, that's better," she said while smiling at her new magic power, while still continuing to ignore Juvia's gloating on how her gift was still better.

Meanwhile
Carla suddenly found herself beginning to have another premonition as her eyes suddenly widened with fear and worry at what she was seeing. Though this one was only in bits and pieces and somehow wasn't as clear to her compared to her much larger premonition back in Moria, but what she saw still made her feel just as fearful.

~In Carla's vision

She saw the Fellowship being split up... Boromir trying to take the Ring from Frodo, followed by something that completely shocked her beyond belief... Someone from Team Natsu, who appeared to be either Gray or Erza though Carla couldn't tell for sure as the vision somehow wasn't clear enough to be able to make it out for some reason, had also appeared before Frodo to attempt to take the Ring from him as well. The rest of it was all somehow unclear... The Fellowship suddenly being attacked by orcs... Another member of the Fellowship dying (which somehow appeared to be Boromir, though Carla didn't know for sure due to how vaguely revealed it was)...~

The vision suddenly faded at the sound of Wendy's worried voice calling out to her and breaking her out of her premonition. "Carla, are you alright?"

Still appearing slightly shaken by what she just saw, Carla managed to force a smile as she looked over at her Dragon Slayer friend. "Yes, I'm fine. You needn't worry, child," Carla assured her, not wanting Wendy to start to worry about a second premonition she was having. What was that? Why would I have a vision of Gray or Erza trying to take the Ring from Frodo? I could understand why Boromir would probably try to do something like that, but Gray and Erza would never do anything like that. Or anyone of us from Fairy Tail for that matter, we would be betraying our friends if that were to happen. And another member of our group dying while fighting off orcs? But who could it be this time? I just hope there's a way to prevent it all from happening this time, Carla was inwardly thinking to herself with worry which didn't go unnoticed by most of the Fellowship who were all looking worriedly over at the white Exceed with concern, though they decided to just leave it be for now as they all continued to leave Lothlorien.

I'm not feeling very confident with posting this chapter because I'm not sure if it's very good, but please review and let me know what you think. And I hope you like the gifts that Team Natsu receives from Galadriel.
