Hey everyone,
Just want to let you all know that this chapter has been written in the second half of June, because I will be on holiday through the second half of July and I didn't want to risk having too little time to write these chapters or have to spend too much family holiday time writing. Also, I decided to do just Bertha, not Frank, sorry.
Hope you still enjoy,

Chapter 30
Bertha And Frank
3rd of November 1993
Ministry For Magic
Bertha Jorkins' POV
The last few days have been quite odd. The Dementors, worthy guardians of those that need to be kept under watch, have been removed from guarding Hogwarts against Sirius Black. Sirius Black himself was actually exonerated. The Minister has started spending more time at Hogwarts. And the Aurors have been send on a wild goose chase.
"I mean, finding someone who is supposed to be dead? Why would Fudge waste Auror forces on something so impossible when we have the World Cup and the Tournament to worry about? Ugh, I can't wait for my holiday to start in a few months' time. Heh, looks like Bagman is about to ruin the process again. Back to work, Bertha."
And with that do I want to move over to where my boss is messing up my paperwork as he seems to be looking for a notice or statement that, I am already quite sure, isn't even part of my paper work when a familiar voice says: "Bertha Jorkins, Madam Bones wishes your presence at Hogwarts. Please come with me."
And I turn around, my heart skipping a beat when I see Matthew Johnson approaching me, yet while I love the fact that the man who is really working hard to make a life for himself has been chosen for picking me up, do I already know that Matthew is someone I would much rather leave in my office than my own chief.
And so I sigh and wait for him to reach me before I say: "I'm truly sorry, Hit-Wizard Johnson, but I just can't leave my boss alone right now. You know the great events that will take place next year and – well, you know what I think of my superior." I mutter in the end, glaring at how my boss has now completely mess up my desk.
"Don't worry, Mss. Jorkins. Madam Bones has given permission for Mr. Bagman to come along. Though I must insist you come, Mss. We've discovered a threat against your life." This actually shocks me as I think: "Could someone have found out that I have been encouraging Bagman to up the danger levels of the Tasks?"
But I shake my head, doubting that this is possible as I only think of this when in private with Mr. Bagman and have my top-notch Occlumency shields up at all other times, so I say: "Hit-Wizard Johnson, I appreciate the concern, but I am sure I have my life well under control." Yet to my shock, does the man say:
"I'm sorry, Miss, but I have my orders. Please, pack up what is necessary to prepare for the events, notify your boss to do the same and then meet me at the Atrium." And the man turns around and leaves, while I feel flabbergasted with shock as it has always been easy to have the man agree with anything I do and say.
"That's a first." I can't help but think and then shrug, feeling only slightly worried of what the man would do if I keep refusing to follow his orders and so I sigh and just approach. Yet as I reach the blundering baboon of a man, do I get a brilliant new idea and I smile sweetly at the man as he notices me and say:
"Mr. Bagman, I have wonderful news. Madam Bones has asked me to come to Hogwarts. We can go meet her to discuss why Aurors won't be needed for the World Cup. You know, because of all the work Bulgaria and Norway will be doing before they send their teams to our fine country. That's wonderful, right?"
And the man practically starts to gleam with excitement as he asks: "Then what are we waiting for? Let's get going? Where is Amelia anyway? I haven't seen her in a couple of days." At this I roll my eyes and say: "She's been appointed Fudge's personal guard while he's at Hogwarts. And with the Dementors gone, who can blame him?"
"Now, now, now Bertha. You know why the Dementors were removed. There were just too many students at Hogwarts who would be forced to remember horrors of the last war if the Dementors were to get close to them." Yet to this I think: "And they'd be worse than dead once Black – or Pettigrew – gets his hands on them."
Yet when Matthew Port-keys us to Hogwarts, do I feel ire at his poor situation as a couple of rookie Aurors actually hold him and us up and question the poor man before letting us through. "See Bertha, that could have gone much worse had it been Dementors that were stationed there." Bagman sweetly tells me, but I think:
"Dementors would have been no problem for Matthew's Patronus, plus he deserves way more respect than these rookies give him." And I walk past the two, not even noticing the symbol of the Hit-Wizards on the robe of one of the two men as I only have eyes for my sweet, talented, ever ambitious powerhouse of a wizard.
We then reach the Great Hall and my eyes widen when we get there as I see people seated at the Gryffindor table that aren't even supposed to exist anymore, let alone sit at the table of the rivaling House and I think: "What kind of messed up upside down world did I walk into? Did someone poison my coffee this morning?"
"Amelia, what – what is all this? Is that James Potter? And – is he sitting next to Sirius Black? I mean, I've heard of his exoneration, but – is all this actually for real?" Bagman practically squeals and I again wonder how I ended up working for such an infantile man as the strict woman that just doesn't give Matthew his just rewards approaches.
"Yes Ludo, it's all for real. Peter Pettigrew has apparently done a lot more than what we've told the public so far. We're just waiting for Lord Potter and the others to get used to being back from the dead before we have them join Cornelius in a press conference. We hope to have it done sometime this weekend or early next week."
"And what evidence do we have that they are who they claim to be?" I can't help but ask and Madam Bones gives me a dead stare as she says: "They were found locked in a doll house inside a room hidden in Pettigrew's old home. And I saw the doll house and how they were freed from it with my own eyes. That good enough?"
And I fight the need to turn red as Madam Bones turns to Matthew and asks: "You did tell her about the threat on her life, didn't you?" And while I hate the fact that she dares to question such a prized member of her staff, does Matthew answer: "Yes, Ma'am, it's just that she's a really brave witch and felt she had her life under control."
At this Madam Bones nods and says: "Well, so did we all, Auror Johnson. That is until Madam Pomfrey diagnosed us all with a bad case of being under the Magical Mind Block." This confuses and shocks me and I ask: "The – what, Ma'am?" At which the woman sighs and actually sits down at the edge of the Hufflepuff seats.
"Mss. Johnson, Ludo, I hate having to tell you this, but – everything you thought you knew about James Potter, Sirius Black, Severus Snape, Harry Potter and many others here – especially those sitting together at the Gryffindor table – it's all constructed by Pettigrew when he cast the Magical Mind Block spell – or the MMB.
James Potter is actually the Veela mate to Sirius Black, Lily Potter is actually Lily Lupin, Severus Snape is actually a friend of the Marauders instead of an enemy, Harry Potter is not an orphan – and Halloween? James Potter and Lily Lupin have told us that our memories of that night are completely off from the truth.
However, it does seem as if Lord Voldemort's defeat was caused by Lady Lupin, though the memory of how she did it – she practically begged us not to ask her about it.""There is no way a dead man could have caused that much damage." Goes through my mind as I look at the woman in utter shock, believing her to have gone mad.
"But Amelia, isn't Pettigrew supposed to be, well, dead?" Ludo asks, voicing my thoughts and to this Madam Bones turns to the large group and asks: "James, would you and your friends mind showing Ludo why that is not the case?" And the supposed Lord of the Potter line nods before he and the others get up and come over.
James Potter, Sirius Black, two men that look like Gideon and Fabian Prewett, a pair that looks like the bed-ridden Frank and Alice Longbottom, a woman that looks like Lily Potter – and is apparently named Lily Lupin – and to my shock a man that looks like a younger Sirius Black, Lucius Malfoy and Severus Snape all pass us.
They then come to stand in the Entrance Hall and I completely lose my composure as they all change into a variety of animals; a stag, a dog, two different Bengal tigers, an Albino-furred pony, a pangolin, a red fox, a king cobra that makes me reel back in traumatized fear, an arctic fox and finally an Emperor Scorpion.
"They're – they're Animagus." Ludo says in shock and Amelia nods as she says: "And so is Pettigrew. In fact, he's been here inside Hogwarts for the last seven years. He's been pretending to be the Weasley's pet rat. He was also the reason Sirius escaped Azkaban as he got into the newspaper when the Weasleys won the lottery."
"That doesn't make any sense. How would Black know Pettigrew got into the newspaper? I mean, he was in Azkaban." I think, but then Fudge approaches us and says: "I'm proud to say that was my work. As you probably know, Ludo, is it required of those who visit Azkaban to have some form of distraction on them. I took the paper."
"And now it actually does make sense. Who would have guessed?" I think and then I decide to indulge into my curiosity and I ask: "Madam Bones, Minister, with all due respect. Why are you here when there are such hyper-important events that will take place in less than a year that we need to prepare for?" And the man answers:
"Because we have been given the chance to make 1000% sure that these events will not be disrupted by anything." Fudge happily says and he motions back for the Gryffindor table, where I suddenly notice that there are kids seated that are at least one or two years too old to still be considered Hogwarts students.
"The elder kids you see sitting there are from 1998. They've been sent to us by Time Sand's magic and it was a file they have in their possession that allowed us to find out about all this. About the MMB, the captured witches and wizards, the actual true bonds between these people here and many other things as well.
Also, the books you see lying there also came with them and describe this year as well as the next four. They're in the Point of View of young Mr. Potter and they describe all that went right and wrong in his life; including the Goblet of Fire." And while I am shocked that he is willing to reveal such a thing, does Madam Bones say:
"It's the title of the book we're currently reading, which is also how we knew that there would be a threat on your life, Mss. Jorkins. You know more about both events than anyone in the entire Ministry and – I'm afraid that your holiday will end very, very, very badly; it will be where you will meet Pettigrew – and lose your life."
This shocks me as I hadn't even thought that Pettigrew could be the threat Matthew mentioned, even after hearing all of this and instantly I snap: "I demand to have Hit-Wizard Johnson as my personal guard until Pettigrew has been apprehended!" Yet to this Madam Bones and Fudge share a confused look and then Matthew's boss says:
"I am willing to accept that, but only for the period of time that you remain here, Mss. Jorkins. Auror Johnson is still in his final year before he can become a Hit-Wizard, so he is to be by my side until I consider him worthy of graduation." And while I wonder: "Well, what are you waiting for?" Do I still nod in acceptance.
"Wonderful, then perhaps we can all adjourn to the Great Hall and begin the next chapter? We have, after all, still an entire book yet to read." I then hear an ancient voice behind me and see Dumbledore approaching, yet the three people he is with make me feel as if my whole world just got hit with a Confundus charm or something.
"Are – are – are those – Muggles?" I ask, trying and failing to hide my disgust at these war-mongering, murderous, oblivious and ridiculously stupid monsters of beings, only to get shocked when Snape changes back and passes me as he says: "Please stop behaving like my old self, it doesn't befit you, really."
And the apathetic tone of his voice actually shocks me before I see him going to sit with the oldest of the Time-travelers and what looks to be his older self. "Mss. Jorkins, it was these two Muggles that gave us the chance to pick up several teenagers that, for some strange reason, never got their Hogwarts letters years ago.
And this Muggle here is in the same boat as you; he too is under threat of Pettigrew – as well the man Pettigrew pretends to serve. And unfortunately that man is as much a threat as Pettigrew himself. Tell me something, Mss. Jorkins, have you ever truly believed that Harry Potter destroyed Lord Voldemort in a permanent manner?"
And while I have never truly believed this and felt that Voldemort just lost his magic or perhaps even his body or something, do I still feel shocked and terrified at the confirmation of my beliefs. The man nods and says: "Yes, it seems that Pettigrew has again decided to join forces with that terror of a monster, indeed."
This makes me share a shocked and terrified look with Ludo and the man asks: "And – and – and these – these books, they – they can help us – prevent that?" But Madam Bones shakes her head and says: "All they can do is help us prepare for whatever Pettigrew could currently be planning." To which I snap out in fear:
"Then why are we still standing here? We need to confiscate those books and –." But then Fudge says: "We will do no such thing. The Squad gave up everything they knew and their original target for these books is their friend, Harry Potter-Black. Therefore, we will keep these books here and will read them alongside the students."
"But there is no way these kids could handle reading about that monster! They're way! –!" But then Madam Bones says: "That is what Mr. Potter-Black is here for. He's a Shadow Elemental and he will be able to lessen the darker emotions in the room, making sure that traumatic parts of reading will not have those effects."
To which Dumbledore adds: "And next to that has Severus been brewing plenty of Dreamless Sleep draughts as well as Calming Draughts and are Filius and I constantly ready to cast spells on students who don't want to hear certain parts. We already did so when we read of Professor Lupin describing the Dementors to young Harry."
And while I am amazed that Hogwarts is actually letting monsters like Elementals into Hogwarts and think: "Mum would have a heart-attack if she heard of this." Do I still feel myself nodding as the precautionary measures do seem better than I thought these teachers capable of and then one of the Muggles asks:
"So, are we going to read or keep flapping our lips here?" And I glare at him, hating that I am actually sharing a fate with someone who's race killed off millions of their own only fifty years ago, do we then all move into the Great Hall and I decide to take the lead as I move over to the books and grab the top one of the stack.
"Ehm, Mss. Jorkins, we're not reading that one yet." I hear someone say and I turn around, my eyes spotting someone who looks absolutely amazing and he holds up another book as he says: "We're on the second chapter of this book. Do you want to read next?" And I nod to which the boy lies the book down on the table.
At this I glare at him with thin lips, only to yelp when he makes the shadow under him swallow the book before he turns back to me and to my utter fear does the shadow of the Head Table grow and cover the stool of books before the book they are reading appears on top of the pile and the shadow retreats back to its normal form.
By now I have a hand on my heart and am breathing deeply as I can't believe I was just witness of something so unusual and wrong and I whimper before Madam Bones asks: "Are you sure you want to read next, Mss. Jorkins?" But I quickly regain myself and send a short glare at the lad before I take the book and start to read.
The Scar
"Wait, we're reading of Potter's famous scar?" I ask shocked as I take a seat next to the Head Table and Professor Filius Flitwick says: "Well, the books are in Mr. Potter-Black's point of view, after all." At this I nod, yet at the same time I can only imagine how many of those around me will get bored as I continue to read.
Harry lay … his skin.
This makes me look at the little freak with a raised eyebrow and his godfather says: "We read of his dream last chapter. It's what made us know that you and Mr. Bryce here were in danger." And while the knowledge that the boy can have prophetic dreams doesn't do much to raise my opinion on him, do I just continue reading.
He sat … still stinging.
"Well, that was actually a pretty acceptable description. Maybe this book's descriptions of us won't be as bad as last book's were." One of the obnoxiously many Weasley siblings says and while I can barely believe that there seem to be even two more than I remember, do I find myself hoping I won't be described as I read on.
Harry tried … very thought…
And as I read this last part do I just know that things might not get as boring as I expected, yet the thought that this lad can read into that murderer's mind while having control over such a dark element such as shadows makes me think: "And Dumbledore is letting a monster like that sit around students?" Before I read on, keeping silent.
He closed … his scar?
"Ghosts don't look that scary." I can't help but mumble, but then Black says: "Voldemort wasn't a ghost, Mss. Jorkins. He was able to use a wand which he struck Mr. Bryce down with. We read all about it in the last chapter." And the thought that this monster is actually more than a ghost makes me shiver before I read on.
And who … to them…
"The MMB must be at work. This is a dream about Pettigrew, after all. His inclusion must make the MMB try and keep you from being forewarned of the danger that you're about to face." Black mutters in insincere concern as he tries to strangle the boy sitting next to him, yet Potter seems obvious to this as I continue reading.
Voldemort and … else… him!
This shocks me and only then do I remember another thing I had just read, of Potter having seen a man fall to the ground and I think: "The man he saw was that Muggle and I was the person these monsters were talking about. My holiday really is going to result in my death." And this very thought makes me read on, feeling terrified.
Harry took … spell books.
"How on earth is that unusual?" I can't help but ask and the Muggle says: "It sure sounds unusual to me, lass. Though granted, most of what I see here is quite unusual to me. What did you call this juicy stuff again? Pumper juice?" And while I think: "No one asked a monster like you, filth." Do I ignore him and read on.
Rolls of … the moment.
"How do you know that Harry is really beyond upset about something?" One of the blasted Weasley kids asks and another, who is stupidly enough his twin brother to boot, answers him: "When even Quidditch can't help him center himself." Yet then a girl that sits with the other two Muggles gasps before she asks:
"Wait, we're reading of Harry while he's in the Muggle world with his relatives. Does that mean we get to hear about the Gang?" But the boy in question sighs and says: "I doubt it. I've been limiting my times meeting with them more and more over the last two summers. At most, we might hear a bit of a summary of it."
At this the girl asks: "But why would you do so?" And Potter makes me know that he really is a mental case as he says: "I was afraid that, because I was so famous, people would be spying on me and we all used our Elemental abilities a lot when I was around. I didn't want to risk them." And while I want to snort at this, do I read on.
He placed … a cat.
"That sounds like the perfect neighborhood for mum and me to live in – if it wasn't already inhabited by those murderous monsters. Seriously, why is Lord Malfoy having so much trouble beating down that Weasel's defense of those bastards? Such a place belongs to us." I think in jealous disgust and fury as I read on.
And yet … long afterward.
"Had been what?" Several at the Gryffindor Table shout in shock and then Dumbledore says: "You never told us that monster bit you!" But while I wonder what monster could make even him whiten like that, does Potter answer: "I didn't think Ginny would have been able to handle hearing that. Not back then, at least."
And while this makes the breeding hen and her wimp of a husband tear up in gratitude, does Dumbledore actually summon his Phoenix as he says: "I have never been more grateful that you came to my grandson's aid, Fawkes, truly." Yet his words shock me into screaming: "Grandson? What do you mean, grandson?"
And Dumbledore answers: "Charlus was my brother. The people of Godric's Hollow, when we tried moving there, forced us into a home that only accommodated four people, so we had to give up one of our own and Charlus decided it should be him." And while I feel shocked that a magical community did this, do I read on.
Only last … airborne broomstick.
Here I snort and ask: "Surely the son of James Potter –." But then I stop in fear as I notice a lot of those in the hall glaring at me and the son of a good friend of mine, Amos Diggory, snarls: "No, Harry's not that bad a flyer. Your Dementors are just horrifying monsters." This confuses me and the boy goes on:
"Harry remembers what the MMB makes him think happened on Halloween night. Would you be able to stay on your broom if you heard your mother die?" But while I glare at him as I actually remember that just fine thanks to my adopted mother telling me what she knows when I was twelve, do I just focus back on the book instead.
He was … absurd, impossible…
"How close are we talking exactly?" I ask, the notion of a ghost Voldemort approaching the one who supposedly defeated him sounding ridiculous to me, yet then Dumbledore says: "I'm afraid he was leeching off a member of staff." And instantly I feel as if everything I ever knew to have been wrong before I read on.
Harry listened … and painless.
"You became really envious of that throughout your fifth, but got a solution to it at the end of the same year." I then hear a girl with wavy black hair say and I see that she is reading it off of a small note that apparently comes from a folder of notes and the girl seems to put it in a different section of the file before looking back at me.
This confuses me and the eldest of the strange kids, who has brownish black hair and silver brown eyes says: "We found the file along with the books and Harry from the future added all kinds of notes from what he knew of the books and their events to help us along before we got send back." And while this intrigues me, do I read on.
Asleep was … living relatives.
"So glad that's no longer true." I hear the boy mutter and I think: "If it weren't for the fact that he's nothing but a dark monster, I would actually feel glad to have finally found another person who understands my hatred for those monsters." And while I want to sigh at this missed opportunity, do I instead focus on reading.
They were … wizarding world.
"In other words, they are practically the embodiment of what all Muggles are like." Goes through my mind, but then I feel like growling when the two Muggles who sit with their freak of a daughter turn to each other and then the bastard says: "We went too easy on those two." And his bitch of a wife nods before I read on.
The very … first place.
"And that all because I believed that staying distant with my only remaining family would keep you safer than if I were to play an active part in your life." Dumbledore mumbles and I think: "So to keep your distance, you send your only grandson to a bunch of monsters?" And my opinion of the man lowers even more as I read on.
If it … had parents…
And instantly the freak's family goes to sit even closer to him and while I wonder how two ancient Lords of incredibly powerful families can be anything other than revolted with their son having the powers of a dark monster, does Potter junior seem to actually revel is something he really doesn't deserve before I read on.
Harry had … and mother.
This makes me look at the people we all believed to be Potter's parents for the longest time, yet the supposed mother is whiter than snow and is being held by the monster that is werewolf Lupin with two sets of twins sitting close to her and using more freakish Elemental powers to just worsen the state of their mother's trauma.
Or so I thought, but then I actually see the woman calming down and the Potter freak says: "Sorry to say this, Aunt Lily, but – I think there's a high chance that this event will be covered at the start of every story, seeing as how this all sounds like a recap from my last years and this year." The woman nods and I read on.
Voldemort had … barely alive.
"Just a question. Why did the mark turn into a lightning bolt? I really never got that." Harry mutters and while Lupin shivers again, does she softly mutter: "I – I had to – to perform a – a –." But the woman seems unable to continue and instantly her family is back on her, the two sets of twins somehow doubling their powers.
"You had to perform a dark ritual in order to give me a light kind of protection?" Harry asks and Lily nods before the boy says: "Thanks Aunt Lily, I think that's all anyone here really wants to know." And many of those in the hall nod with comfort and care shining in their eyes, making Lupin sigh in relief before I read on.
His powers … become famous.
"Note to self, hold Press conference to let the world know that it was Lily Lupin who saved us all, not Harry Potter." Fudge mutters and I smirk at Potter junior, just knowing he will throw up a shit storm in protest, but the boy shocks me as he says: "Great idea, Minister." And while shocked that he is willing to lose his status, do I read on.
It had … castle again.
"Trust me, pup, once the next break ends, you are going to hate having to go back to Hogwarts, especially once we've spent a few days in the EEM." Black tells his son and Potter asks: "EEM?" At which the man answers: "Extreme Emergency Manor." At which I think: "That was too easy to guess." Do I read on.
But there … scar hurting?
"I'm personally more curious as to how the rest of you would have responded had Harry told you of this." Dumbledore then tells the time-travelers and their younger selves. The whole group look at each other and then, in ways that I can only assume have to do with their freakish powers, do they seem to come to a conclusion.
"If he had come to us, we would have taken him straight to a safe place." The eldest of the time travel group says and then the others seem to go off on this as a boy sitting with the Muggles says: "If he had come to us, we would have comforted him with words of assurance." And he motions for his younger self as he says this.
"If he had come to us, we would have hunted the bastards down for scaring our little brother." The girl sitting with the Malfoys says, shocking her actual parents and brother and then the girl sitting with the Longbottoms says: "If he had come to us, we would have done what we always do; let him know we are there for him."
This actually makes me roll my eyes as that sounds more pacifistic than Dumbledore and then the twins sitting with the Lupins chorus: "If he had come to us, we would have send werewolves and Phoenixes after the bastards, maybe even dragons!" And this makes some slap themselves on the heads and others laugh.
"If he had come to us, we would have done what we did with his memory of Marge's words." The girl sitting with the Lovegood brat says and then the elder female Weasley offspring says: "If he had come to us, we would have connected with the fireplace he described – and burned the place down. No one would cry over murdered killers."
And while this actually makes her parents and several others look shocked, do I feel a sliver of respect grow in my heart and think: "So there actually are a few good witches that can come off Weasley loins. Who would have guessed?" And while I wonder if my mother would like to hear of this, does the youngest say:
"If he had come to us, we would have taken him somewhere really secluded and then made him feel as if he's flying his Firebolt – while sending a tornado for the bastard's manor, that is." And this makes the respectable Weasley share a high-five with the Potter-Black boy and I nod in respect at the two as Molly Weasley asks:
"Why are you both so violent?" And instantly I feel as if the Great Hall suddenly turned into Azkaban as the whole atmosphere turns tense with the seriousness now shown on all faces of the time-travelers as they say: "We protect our own." And for the first time since coming here, do I feel I have good reason to be here before I read on.
At once … curse scars…"
And just like that do I break the moment and to my relief does the Mudblood seem to realize how stupid she really is herself as she slaps herself on the forehead and asks: "Is it a bad thing that Harry knows me so well?" To which her brothers chorus: "Nope, a good thing." Making her smile before I continue the chapter.
Yes that … and Afflictions.
"I seriously hate that my healing can't get rid of that blasted thing." The girl sitting with the Lovegood brat says and Dumbledore asks: "You tried to heal it?" At which the girl nods and says: "In the summer before Harry's second. Damned thing actually fought me. Trying to heal Harry of it actually caused him pain."
And the girl nods with her head down, obviously not liking the fact that she hasn't been able to help her friend and then the boy sitting with Potter asks: "And what if we combine our powers? Don't water and wind make a storm? It might work, right?" At which the girl shrugs and Dumbledore looks thoughtful as I continue reading.
As for … summer holidays.
"I'm afraid that my holidays are mostly spent on what the Ministry needs for me, to create an inventory of what the school needs for the coming year and missing the presence of students in the school as well as my family in my life." The man sighs and this makes the Potter freak come to sit with him as I read on.
He amused … crooked nose.
And this instantly cheers the man up and makes him laugh as he says: "I would love the idea to do that, but then only if you and your family come with me." And the boy instantly starts nodding, while his parents share a very happy smile with each other, yet I fear for the other beach goers in regards to the freak before I read on.
Wherever Dumbledore … Harry Potter.
"I really would hope that you would put more in the letter than that, my dear boy." Dumbledore then says, only for the eldest of the time-travel girls to say: "It's more that the letter in the book serves evidence that, even now, Harry's respect for you surpasses his care, so he doesn't really you well enough to know what to write."
This makes the man sigh and then his nephew says: "Don't worry, Al. We'll have all the time to grow close through these books, not to mention our upcoming Christmas at the EEM." And instantly Dumbledore seems to cheer up at the idea of spending Christmas with his family and this I can easily understand as I continue reading.
Even inside … ask Dad…"
Here the two mentioned friends share a look and then the Mudblood freak asks: "Harry really has us down pat, doesn't he?" To which the youngest male Weasley nods before Harry asks: "What did you expect after three solid years of friendship?" And the three friends share a smile of trust that makes me read on, feeling quite sick.
Mr. Weasley … the world;
"Not anymore." The boy suddenly says at which the youngest Weasley male says: "Hey!" But then he gets hit over the back of his head by a girl that looks like she could be his twin as she asks: "Do you really want him to pick our family over his own?" And her brother turns red as I think: "A typical Weasley." Before I read on.
He was … his scar.
"Wait, we're actually going to read about the World Cup?" I ask in shock, wondering if there is a chance of the winning team in the book to also become the winning team in the upcoming summer finals and this question makes a lot of excited muttering and chattering to start ringing through the hall as I quickly read on.
Harry kneaded … Dark Magic…
"Long live last book." The twins then suddenly cheer together and they happily want to give Black a high-five, yet the man himself doesn't join in and sighs instead as he says: "That whole thing with the Muggles shouldn't have happened. He should have been able to think of me instantly." Which makes the twins falter as I read on.
And then … months ago.
"And now I'm stuck with him for life." Potter moans, making me glare at his ungrateful behavior and I ignore the playful smirk on his face and think: "He gets what he deserved." When Black asks: "Oh, really now?" Before he attacks the brat and starts to tickle the lad, causing him to scream and laugh as I continue reading.
There was … believed dead.
This shocks me as I realize this must be what had made Madam Bones and the Minister believe that Pettigrew was out for my life and I ask: "He escaped capture, didn't he?" And Fudge nods as he says: "He used our attentiveness for the books to fool us all once again." And this makes me grimace before I continue the chapter.
Harry, Ron … their story.
"But surely Dumbledore would –." I try to state, but then Madam Bones asks: "Mss. Jorkins, would you have believed any of this had you not been invited to read the books with us? Would you have believed it had it come from anyone other than the Minister?" And instantly I think: "Hell no." But I don't answer and just read on.
For one … them forever.
"Let me guess, they decided to properly punish you for casting underage magic?" I ask, but this is the wrong thing to ask as I get another round of furious glares and then Albus shocks me as he says: "The woman in question deserved it, Bertha. She was insulting the dead." And while I don't care for this, do I pretend to care as I read on.
Nevertheless, Sirius … was innocent.
"Now is that really necessary?" I can't help but ask and one of the elder Lupin twins answers: "In a normal loving home, no." Before the other older twin says: "But none of us grew up in normal loving homes, so yeah." And while I think: "As if freaks like you and your bunch deserve any less." Do I just continue reading.
Harry had … enjoying himself.
"You know, the EEM actually has this one room that can replicate any and all kinds of worldly environments. So if you ever just want to be somewhere other than the Manor, you can go there and forget where you're at, really." Potter then says and his son asks: "We can hold a beach party there?" To which his younger brother says:
"We can hold Harry's birthday party there!" And instantly the whole table seems to agree with this and Potter wants to say: "That – that sounds great, just –." But to this his parents overwhelm him and say: "Not happening, don't bother." Making the elemental freak turn red and making me want to roll my eyes as I read on.
Somehow, Harry … too well.
"FINALLY!" The two groups shock me as they scream loudly and instantly I snap: "Now that's just rude!" But then the eldest says: "Not really, seeing as how Dudley is just as wide as Hagrid." And this makes me look at the half-giant in shock, who actually nods as if to confirm this and this makes me feel faint as I read on.
My aunt … off things.
"But that only sounds like it's a good thing." Mrs. Weasley says, but then the youngest of the bunch says: "It isn't as Dudley usually uses either that game to distract and entertain him – or kids that are smaller and weaker than him. Myself and Harry included." And the freak in question nods to confirm this as I continue reading.
I'm okay … years afterward?
"Why did you write about your scar and not the nightmare?" Black asks and Harry answers: "I can only assume that my book-self considered the implications of my scar hurting more important. Either that or I just couldn't remember enough to consider it worth it." And this makes his father grimace as I continue reading.
I'll send … to breakfast.
"Well, that was – entertaining." I mutter, trying not to put too much boredom and annoyance in my voice and yet I feel as if I fail as there are quite a few glares send my way and then my boss annoys me more as he scampers over and says: "I found that plenty entertaining. I do hope my turn will be the same. May I?"
And I hand him the book, again wondering why I decided that working for such a kid was a good idea and I take a seat at the Head Table, next to Madam Pince, who I am sure shares many of my beliefs and ideas as she was always one of my favorite members of staff when I was a Hogwarts student and I think: "At least I'm safe from certain death."
Hey everyone,
So we got both Bertha and Frank picked up and I just want to say this; Bertha actually has a really tragic back story that I might just go further into later on in this story. She was actually born in 1944 and her parents were one of the final victims of the German Holocaust in 1945. After that she was adopted by – you can guess who.
Yet it is this, the death of her parents at such young age, that makes her so hateful of Muggles; she never let go of the horrors of the Second World War and being raised by You-Know-Who (yes, I went there) really didn't help. So for the record, You-Know-Who isn't her birth mother, but her adopted mother.
Okay, all clear,
Venquine1990
PS. the You-Know-Who I am talking about (not Tom), in this tale – was born in 1928; I know how old that makes her and I don't care. Just go with it.
PPS. There is a new poll on my profile. Please go vote on it, it concerns future stories.
