The rainstorm had caught them by surprise, soaking them to the bone. Shaggy had ushered them to his house as it was closer than Christina's. Now, warm and dry, he eagerly anticipated a night of cuddles and kisses. Just when he couldn't take it anymore Christina swept into the room, her hair loose and wet from her shower, wearing one of his old red shirts which looked more like a dress on her.
"Miss me?" she lightly teased, tapping his nose.
"Of course," he grinned, pulling her onto his lap, "Like, how about that movie?"
"Sounds good," Christina giggled, "Rock paper scissors you for the first choice,"
"You're on!"
Three rounds later, Shaggy was resigned to watching Fifty First Dates. The movie had barely gotten started before Christina spoke again.
"What's that?"
Shaggy followed her gaze to a small package on the coffee table.
"It like, has my name so let's find out," Shaggy said, picking up the mystery package and reading open the brown paper.
The Aliens Are Here the book cover proclaimed
After seeing who had written it Shaggy had to laugh.
"What's so funny? " Christina demanded.
"Like, just having a trip down memory lane, "
"tell me, tell me," Christina pleaded, "it's a mystery, right? "
Shaggy 's smile fell, "it's not that interesting, "
"there's a girl involved isn't there?
"What makes you say that? "
"There's always a girl when you say it's not interesting "
Shaggy's mouth dropped open.
"Please, tell me? " Christina pleaded.
Shaggy just couldn't say no to her sweet doe-eyed pout.
"Well, it started with an accident,"
Little did they know who was coming.
...
Christina rolled over, blinking blearily, her eyes slowly focusing on the clock
9:00
She sat up in surprise, hitting Shaggy in the face by mistake.
"OWW" he yelped grabbing his nose.
"Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry Shaggy," Christina leaped from the couch.
"What's the matter?"
"School," she gasped, "It's Monday and we're late for school!"
"Christina, school doesn't start until next week,"
"Oh," she flushed with embarrassment, "I feel bad now,"
"Like, don't, please, don't, I'm sure Velma made the same mistake,"
"What makes you say that?" Christina wondered, dropping back onto the couch.
"This text from Daphne with pictures,"
He passed his phone to Christina who couldn't help but chuckle at the sight of Velma in a hooded orange and red onesie with cat ears clutching her backpack.
"Poor Velma," Christina stifled a laugh.
"Poor Daphne when Velma really wakes up"
At the thought the two burst into laughter, laughing until their sides hurt.
"So, I like, had a question and erm, since we're alone I thought I'd like ask now"
"Yes?"
"How would you like, feel about maybe, I dunno getting an apartment together? Soon?"
"Like, next month soon or three months from now soon?"
"That like, depends entirely on you, Christina. We're both seniors this year and-"
She cut him off with a kiss.
"I'll take that as a yes?"
"Yes, yes, I'd love to"
"Soon?"
"As soon as we can find one"
Shaggy lit up like a Christmas tree. Picking Christina up and spinning her around and around. So elated was he that he didn't notice where Scooby was and ended up falling with Christina landing on top of him. Giggling, she kissed his nose.
"You might be clumsier than me"
"Princess Diaries?"
"Princess Diaries 2. which has nothing to do with the books"
"You and your Disney Knowledge"
"You love me for it"
"No, I love you for you"
"And my baking?"
"Yes, and your baking. Who would have guessed my girlfriend, the most in-demand baker"
"Just a hobby," Christina rolled off of him.
He grabbed her waist and pulled her back, "That makes you money," he teased.
"Just an awesome perk, now, don't you want breakfast?"
"Does breakfast mean..."
"French Toast, Waffles, eggs over easy and nearly burnt bacon"
"Race ya,"
"Hey, I'm the one who's cooking!"
Their laughter could be heard from the streets.
…...
Meanwhile, several light-years away but steadily coming closer was someone Shaggy hadn't seen for years.
Crystal
Her mother had urged her to go quickly, for her mating cycle had arrived and the only one she wished to mate with. The only one she desired was Shaggy.
And she would have him.
…
The first day of school, the real first day of school, Christina, Shaggy, and of course, Scooby arrived together, schedules already in hand. Shaggy in particular was over the moon.
"We have the Advanced Cooking Class together and it's like, first period!"
"Yes," Christina nodded cheerfully, "Don't we Scooby?"
"Uh-huh," Scooby said absent-mindedly as he was more concerned with a certain wolf's whereabouts.
Just when he lowered his guard Jade barreled out of nowhere and tackled Scooby sending then rolling across the floor.
"Have fun you two" Shaggy called.
…...
Lunchtime, Clawdeen, and Duncan found Christina and Shaggy focused on Christina's laptop.
"Is it true?"
"What, Clawdeen?"
"The new student says she knows you, Shaggy"
"New student?" Christina questioned.
"She just walked in, over there," Duncan pointed.
Shaggy almost fell out of his chair.
Christina just looked between them confusedly as the student spotted them an all but rushed over.
"Shaggy!"
"Crystal"
This time Shaggy did fall from his chair. Christina dropped next to him, shaking him. When that failed she kissed him. After he woke back up she pulled him to his feet, sat him back down, and gave him her water bottle.
"Sweetie," she coaxed once he'd calmed, "Are you going to make introductions?"
"This is Crystal," he told them, "Crystal, this is, Duncan, Clawdeen and my girlfriend, Christina"
"Girlfriend?" Crystal asked, taken aback.
"For two years now," Shaggy smiled at Christina.
Then Shaggy asked the one question Crystal wished he didn't.
"Like, what brings you back to Earth?"
...
Well, it's not as long as I would like but here you go, the latest story in the Shaggy's Exes series.
Crystal is actually one of my favorite characters. I hope I do her justice.
