Hey everyone,
So Harry will be brought back into the Great Hall in this chapter, but I am also going to further go into detail when it comes to the bond he shares with the Gang and the Squad. And while I DON'T want to break him from people like Luna, Ginny, Ron or Hermione, do I really want to focus on the characters that first inspired me to write this whole thing.
Hope you understand,

Chapter 49
A Protective Circle
3rd of November 1993
Great Hall, Hogwarts
Rosaline's POV
"Rosaline dear, would you mind bringing my grandson back in? And Jeremy, would you be so kind as to get those blocks back from the floor? I do believe that Harry quite enjoyed the space when we were reading the last book and I believe he will appreciate it once again." Dumbledore asks my leader and I and we both nod before Jeremy asks: "Rosemary, would you mind doing your sister's work? You know, cloak the slabs?"
My sister nods at this and I happily smile at the two before heading out of the Great Hall. Yet I don't find Harry here and look around, before turning around. "Eh Jason, I need your help here." The younger leader looks confused and heads over. And once the doors are closed behind him, do I whisper: "Harry's not here. Could you use your powers to sense where he went?" The boy nods and crouches down, putting a hand on the stone floor.
"He went down that staircase over there." He says a few minutes later and I smile at him gratefully before heading down the direction he aimed at. And at the bottom of the stairs, does my smile grow even bigger as Harry is actually training his powers again, which I know is something the older version of him never did after he told us to go down under.
The boy is actually pulling on the shadow of the Boat House caused by – what I only suddenly realize – is the setting sun. And the shapes that the boy is able to create out of this are definitely impressive and I happily say: "Glad to see that you haven't lost that much of your skill from not training for so long." Harry looks up shocked, but then smiles and says:
"To be honest, it's really a combination of two factors. One, I kind of get a bit of training out of Transfiguration as changing an object has always been similar as changing the form of shadows for me. I just have a lot of trouble with it, because I have to change both the darker side and the lighter parts; it's just harder. The other is Scotland itself. You know, the dark weather."
At this I laugh and say: "Yeah, I kind of guessed the same myself." I then sigh and say: "To be honest, that's the whole reason I was always okay with your decision to just not train anymore after you chose to be a wizard and all. I was in the belief that you'd be able to keep yourself strong and your powers going thanks to all of the dreary weather. Though, I also need to be honest."
The boy turns to me and I sigh as I mutter: "I – every year until next, on a certain day, I would take Jeffrey and Irma with me and cause for the weather to be even worse than it was even predicted to be. Not the day you had your match, I had Aunt Rosie to keep me aware of when to do this, but I did that – just so you would have that one day to have tons of shadows to be in."
At this Harry laughs and he says: "I knew it. No, not that you'd do such a thing for me. I just knew that you would never change. You've been caring for me like an older sister ever since we met and you're still doing it. Let me guess, you were the one to take control of the whole plan when my future-self found that – HOLY MOTHER OF MERLIN!"
This shocks me and the boy actually dives straight into the huge shadow that comes off of the Boat House. Realizing that he must have gone somewhere else, probably back to the Great Hall, do I turn around and dash back myself. And when I come back, do I spot Harry standing in between the Gryffindor and Ravenclaw table.
His eyes are wider than the slabs that are now standing in the center of the room and he whispers: "I – I completely missed this bit. I – I was just so – so focused on the – the fact that – that Sirius was my dad that – that I didn't even actually realize what – what I was reading." The boy then turns to Dumbledore and asks: "I – I have a – another grandfather – and a – a grandmother?"
The man looks shocked, but then sighs and says: "I – I do have a brother named Aberforth, yes, but my sister Arianna –." But when Harry gives him the file to read, do his own eyes widen and he whimpers: "Wait – wait – what?" He looks from his grandson to the file and back several times and then Mr. Potter asks: "Uncle Al?" The man's eyes start to tear up and he whispers:
"The – the – the pact. It – it saved her. I – I thought it killed her, but it – it didn't. I – I don't – I don't believe this.""Grandpa?" Harry tentatively asks and the man takes a deep breath before he says: "I'm sorry. I – I believe this will have to be our final chapter for the day. I – I am going to need some time to – to fix this. I – I promise I will explain everything once I have."
At this a lot of those in the hall share concerned and scared looks with each other and instantly the friendly grandfather comes back in the man and he says: "You need not to concern yourself. This concerns my family and my family alone. It will not affect Hogwarts in anyway, I do assure you." And while this makes a lot of the students nod in relief, does Mr. Potter say:
"If that's the case –." And yet before the man can continue, does Dumbledore nod and say: "I will catch you up after we read the chapter. Who would like to read next?" And as I wave my hand to thicken the foliage on the slabs of stone that Jeremy pulled out of the ground, do I then raise it and Irma uses a small bit of water to send the book my way. I thank her and start reading.
The Weighing … to breakfast.
"Did you actually realize that you might be wrong and felt too stubborn to admit it?" Edena asks her younger brother, but Ron sighs and says: "No, I probably just didn't want to hear more lies and excuses." And just the way that he speaks the last three words with his fingers making annotations proves exactly how bad he feels about his future self. And I read on, feeling slightly proud of him realizing and resenting his future mistakes.
Harry dressed … applause again.
And because the Headmaster is still the one holding the file, is he this time the one receiving the new note that says: "The following people were not part of this group because they were still at breakfast; Parvati and Lavender and Ginny. Angelina wasn't there because she was still sleeping. And everyone else who was friends with me wasn't there because they realized the truth."
This, like me, makes the man look up with a proud smile on his face, yet then Ron groans and says: "And yet everyone Harry is friends with realizes this – except the person who became his first friend when he came here." And while I know that, if it weren't for my friends and me, it would have been Harry's first friend ever, do I send the boy a reassuring smile and read on.
The prospect … without question.
At this the girl wants to actually lay into Harry, but her brother instantly states: "Harry has only had about three or so years to grow accustomed to the fact that everything is his fault isn't true, something he still keeps hearing every time he gets send back to those Muggles and now his closest friend also blames him. You know you'd be just as doubtful." Hermione grimaces at this and I read on.
"Well, of … Hermione awkwardly.
This actually shocks Ron, but then Harry sighs and mutters: "I – this is my fault." The others all turn to the boy in confusion and he moves over to his best friend. "I managed this with Mr. Malfoy and, to be honest, that's the whole reason I didn't do it with you, Ron. Because I didn't believe, at the time, that I could do what I did earlier.""Harry, mate, what are you talking about?"
"This." Harry says and he aims an open-palmed hand at Ron before twitching his fingers closed a little and starting to slowly pull his arm back. And to the shock and horror of a lot, does some kind of shadow slowly but surely get seeped out of the boy, getting drained out of him and shooting for Harry's hand, which instantly closes as soon as the last is released from the boy.
Ron gasps and instantly Mrs. Weasley asks: "What – what was that?" And Harry sighs as he whispers: "The – the Erised curse. It – it had a stronger hold on me at the beginning, but – a – a few days after I stopped going to see it, did I start to notice that Ron carried a bit of its magic on him, like this bracelet that was wrapped around his wrist like a chain or a cuff.
I – I knew it was a curse and that – that it would probably affect Ron in the long run, but – I hadn't trained my powers in so long, I wasn't sure I'd be able to break it without hurting either of us. And well, after a while I did notice when the curse would affect him, namely if he were to fight with either the twins or Percy, but – but it never seemed to really have that strong a hold on him.
I just – I never expected anything like this. I – I wanted to speak out, but – but the only one who knew of the mirror was Dumbledore and – and from my conversation with him, I – I wasn't sure even he could resist its curse, so I – I wasn't sure he'd even know a countercurse or anything. Though that was no excuse for keeping this to myself." The boy whispers in the end, sounding ridden with guilt.
"So – so wait! This – this stupid behavior of my – of my book-self –." But then Ron sighs and says: "No, that's not true. It is still me. The only – the only thing this Erised curse seems to do – if those arguments are to be used as examples – is increase how I feel or think about something. It – it doesn't create those thoughts or those believes; those are still my own."
"Maybe, but the fact that Hermione is already doubtful on whether or not you believe that Harry entered himself is a good sign too. It proves that you're trying to fight it. It's just a curse coming from such a powerfully magical artefact that, sorry bro, you just don't stand much of a chance.""Unless he keeps fighting it a little at a time." Iris and Edena tell their brother and I read on, smiling.
"What's that … up the –"
By now Mr. Black is actually both sighing and smirking and his brother says: "I know what's on your mind.""You always do." Sirius jokes and Regulus nods before he says: "And you're right. It does suck that the topic is something so dangerous, but the fact that they are arguing, like all teenage friends are bound to do, is a welcome relief to these dark topics." Several other parents also nod, the same grimaces of relief on their own faces and I read on.
"Write to … his letter.
"There is not going to be much commenting going on this time, is there?" Someone suddenly asks and Professor Sprout actually yawns before she says: "Well you have to admit that this chapter doesn't really feel like it's a chapter that requires such, Mr. Belth. Also, it's getting late. I don't think many of us are still awake enough to think up comments." And under a lot of tired nodding, do I read on.
Dear Sirius … and wrote,
At this I turn to the boy I consider my younger brother, who has gone back to lying in between the slabs upon which Jack and Eddy are seated. And to my amused relief, do I notice that Jeffrey is actually using his power to wave through Harry's hair from where he's seated on the other side of the group and that these motions are softly lulling Harry to sleep.
And while I really want to comment on how badly I wish Harry was still using and training his powers in the book, as we found out that they are a good way for him to control and organize his mind and analyze his emotions, do I not feel like keeping the younger man from his much deserved rest for longer than I need to. Instead of that, do I tone down the sound of my voice and read on.
Hope you're … seem impressed.
At this the younger twins want to get up, but I raise my hand to stop them and quickly look down at Harry. To my relief does the boy seem to have indeed fallen asleep and then Jeffrey mutters: "I'm making him hear the sound of the wave crashing on the Black Lake shores, don't worry." I nod at the boy a few seats away from me and then at the twins.
"Nice. Anyway, seriously!" John growls at the surrounding students and Edward moans: "Yeah, I mean. Does Harry really need to hold some kind of speech in front of the Head Table for you guys to use your common sense and think things through?""Really?" And while they say this, do I remember the last time Harry did so at the start of the reading. I sigh at this memory and read on.
The Hufflepuffs, … the face.
At this Mr. Potter actually only stares down in disappointment at one of the two mentioned boys and he says: "That sounds like it's something that's happened before. But then again, that's the whole reason the Macmillan House has been in such a precarious alliance with House Potter for so many generations; they just can't make up their mind in what they think of the other House."
The boy in question cringes and rubs the back of his head before my own eyes and his widen as Mr. Potter says: "Make up your mind and stick with it, Heir Macmillan, before your ever-changing behavior – like that of your grandfather during the Grindelwald war – forces me to enact the warning my father gave your grandfather in the years that followed; complete exile from the Alliance."
This makes the boy whiten and he yells: "But – but that – THAT WOULD BANKRUPT MY FATHER!" But at this Mr. Potter seems to throw him a small boon as he shakes his head and says: "Potters never end their Alliances that way. They never ruin a family, even if they break a bond that is generations old. To us, it just isn't done." Macmillan sighs in relief and I read on.
Ron wasn't … Hufflepuff House.
"Hey wait, why is he so accepting of that?" Someone in Hufflepuff angrily snaps, only to be on the receiving end of multiple glares, including that of Harry's parents, Sirius snarling: "I'd appreciate it if you tone down that volume of yours, Smith. I'd like to be sure that my son can sleep whenever and wherever he feels comfortable.""Why is he sleeping so much anyway?"
Someone else asks and Irma answers: "Harry has always been able to easily fall asleep if he's somewhere comfortable, though that was never the case at the Muggles, because he constantly had to be on his guard and wonder if this or that wouldn't wake them as, even if it wasn't something he did, they'd still manage to find a way to blame him for it.
That and he hasn't been training in several years. Yet he's done quite a few brilliant things with his powers these past few days, so he needs a little more rest than usual." The student who asked nods and then Jeffrey goes on: "And as for the other question, I think that there are two answers to that. One, Snape and McGonagall were there on Saturday, so Harry probably expects them to have filled their colleague in on Sunday or something.
Two, Harry is a firm believer of the saying Your House is like your Family, so he sees Professor Sprout as Hufflepuff's mother. And every mother would support their own kids over others, no matter what." And then Isaac ends it: "That and I'm pretty sure this isn't the first time the Houses turned on him and their Heads did nothing." And while I remember Harry's speech, do I read on.
He would … my bet."
"You have one sick fascination with seeing people die, Draco. And this time, I don't even care that it's Harry who's the subject of that fascination, the fact itself is just gross. What? Do you want all of the Muggleborns dead too?" The girl honingly asks in the end, only for her eyes to widen when she spots her brother cringing away. "You cannot be serious." She mutters as I read on.
Crabbe and … their feet.
"Yep, definitely a class more suited for the older years. Or – hmmmm." Sirius suddenly mumbles, looking thoughtful. "Oh-oh, look out, people. My brother has one of his moods again." Regulus laughs and those that had been held captive laugh as well, while the rest of us look at the man in question curiously. Yet after a few minutes of him keeping silent, do I read on.
"Ah, I … this afternoon..."
And instantly everyone in Gryffindor turns to look at the girl as if she's grown an extra head, yet then James suddenly rolls his eyes and says: "Quit that right now. None of you have any right for that." Everyone turns to him and he says: "Unlike the rest of you, these two actually took the effort to see past the scar and become Harry's friend.
If you had done the same, you could have been there and said something more uplifting and supportive – sorry, Severus, I'm just basing that off of what we've read so far, not you personally. Several of you, especially those who are in either the Potter or the Black Alliance, have wasted a perfectly good chance for the better part of two and a half years now. You really don't have the right to judge Harry's other friends when you didn't even take the chance to become one." At which I read on, silently agreeing with the man and feeling quite proud of myself.
Double Potions … POTTER STINKS!
"And now the world is right again." John says, leaning back against the slab his older brother Eddy is sitting on, while Edward is sitting up against Jack's slab. "What do you mean?" Hermione asks and Edward says: "Yeah John, you're not entirely right. Look at the lengths. They still don't make sense. Seven words in Gryffindor red, but only two in Slytherin green?"
And instantly several mouths, including my own, drop in shock – or in Draco's case, in horror. I myself read through the section again and then turn to Draco as I ask: "How exactly were you Sorted into Slytherin?" And a bunch of snorting hidden behind hands is heard from the Gryffindor table as Draco looks at me as if I just signed his own death contract before I read on.
The Slytherins … it up."
At this Snape turns a furiously raging glare at Draco, but then Regulus, shockingly enough, put a calming hand on his shoulder and turns to Lucius as he says: "Lucius, you probably don't remember this, but we all made a vow as parents when I got pregnant with Jeremy. Draco is mine and he and I will leave Hogwarts for the weekend." Mr. Malfoy tentatively nods and I read on.
Some of … said, "Explain."
But at this a lot of the adults shake their heads and Mr. Longbottom says: "I'm sorry, Severus, but this one is entirely on you. Gryffindor and Slytherin, two Houses that have a huge feud and even two students that are, even to us who have only been here for a few days, known to be rivals left alone in a corridor. This was bound to happen and only a teacher present could have stopped it."
The Professor grimaces at this and nods, shocking a lot of the students around him, but then suddenly Alicia stands up and says: "But then he can't be the only one to take responsibility. This happens all the time. The only class that actually has the class door open for students to enter ahead of class time is Arithmancy. And none of the other teachers ever wait for us." This makes the other staff grimace and look guilty, making Mr. Longbottom roll his eyes as I read on.
"Potter attacked … no difference."
"And I take back my husband's words." Mrs. Longbottom says, shocking a lot of those around us. The woman then turns to Snape and says: "Frank said this, I know, because he thought you were on the other side of the classroom, preparing for your next class or something. But this one comment proves different and proves how petty and one-sided and biased you really are.
You were waiting on the other side of the door, Severus Snape, not the other side of the classroom. You knew exactly who cursed who and because – Albus, I already know what you're going to say, but the war is not worth Severus acting lower than James did before we all became friends. There are limits to everything, even war strategies."
The woman then snarls at the Headmaster, but then her husband lies a hand on her shoulder and says: "Alice, calm down. I can see that the whole thing with the prisoner down below is bothering you and you're letting out on others. Just calm down." And the woman sighs and mutters: "We can't leave him there, especially with Ginny's words." Making me read on, feeling highly concerned.
Hermione let … of detentions."
At this Harry's and Ron's parents sigh and then James says: "The detention was warranted as I can only imagine what kind of insults a son of Potter and Black could come up with, but the points were too massive. If they had been cut in half or even in four it would have been a little more fair. The threat of a week, however, was just unnecessary. More point loss would have been better." And while Snape seems reluctant to accept this advice, do I read on.
Harry's ears … and twitching.
At this almost everyone turns to look at Harry in horror and disgust, but then suddenly both his parents shout: "IS EVERYONE JUST GOING TO FORGET WHO HIS MOTHER IS!" And then James makes things even crazier and shakes his head as he says: "All those times I had to talk you out of that when your family madness almost took over, honestly."
And while Sirius doesn't say anything, does the look on his face say it all. He remembers all the times that this happened and then he says: "If – if that memory had been real; it would have been because – because you weren't there. You weren't there to – to stop me." And Snape whitens, me realizing he means the Willow memory that was proven fake and then James goes on:
"Not to mention two things. One, Harry only thought it. And going by what I've heard and read about several Slytherin students so far, I'm pretty willing to bet that he's even a little late to the party when it comes to thoughts like this. Two, Sirius and I will address this with Harry tomorrow in private and let you know how he responded. Now read on, please Rosaline." I nod at him and do as asked.
"Antidotes!" said … every direction.
"Wow, that went better than I expected." Isaac says, shocking a lot of those around him. He crosses his arms and says: "I mean sure, it would have been better if Collin said it was an official part of the Tri-Wizard Tournament that was taking place or if someone had taken the decency of explaining this to Harry on Sunday or something, but still." And this makes a lot of the adults turn red, McGonagall coughing to hide her blush as I read on, smirking.
"It's amazing … magenta robes.
Instantly a lot of the adults groan and start to look really concerned. "Skeeter?" I can't help but ask and Dumbledore nods before he turns to Fudge and says: "I am willing to accept her as a reporter for the Tournament – somewhat – but only if she does interviews with the Champions in the presence of either their teacher or a parent, no discussion." The Minister nods and I read on.
Viktor Krum … at her.
"This is not happening. I'm sorry, but it seems that you'll have to ask Harry about that thought problem by yourself, James. Fudge, I'm going to meet with Skeeter first thing tomorrow, with some protection, of course, and I would like you and Amelia to make sure that no one gets any funny ideas with me until I get back here to Hogwarts." The Minister nods at this and I read on.
"Come along … you normally…"
"Ehm excuse me? It's against ancient laws for reporters to use that quill. It doesn't write down actual notes, it writes down notes in the notes in the personal opinion of the owner. That quill is forbidden due to it proving that the reporter can't remain objective in doing their job. Ugh, this must be another damned thing caused by the MMB." Frank growls and I read on, feeling for him.
"A what?" … inflated reputations –
"And that is exactly the problem.""How is that a problem?" A girl from a few years above Harry asks annoyed and yet while she had asked this of Frank, does Joshua answer her: "Well, let me explain. Your looks might be complimented by that thing, because you are definitely good looking, but how do you think that thing is going to react to that sharp tongue of yours? How badly it will exaggerate that?" The girl cringes and I read on, agreeing with the boy.
"Lovely," said … the cupboard.
And at this do I finally stop raising my voice to keep others from commenting and then Frank looks around and says: "And that – is Rita Skeeter in a nutshell. That is how she treats all of her targets. And I, like James, speak from experience as she once tried to do the same to me when I was Harry – book-Harry's – age. She just didn't get that chance, because I had my mother with me.
But you all tell me here and now; do any of you – any of you – think Skeeter had the right to bring up Harry's parents? Whether they be Lily and James or James and Sirius?" And everyone, even the students who had tried to stand up for Skeeter earlier, shake their heads, the aforementioned students looking disgusted and down-heartened as I read on.
"Dumbledore!" cried … broom cupboard."
"This chapter really is all about teachers just not showing up until it's too late, isn't it?" Alice moans and her husband answers: "Yes, though I don't think Albus' situation is like Severus'. Severus proved that he was waiting behind the door, but – I think it's more likely that Albus was looking around and that Harry loudly talking about his eyes is what helped Albus find him. Though I'm just basing this on their words and behavior, really." At which I read on, agreeing with him.
Very glad … he desisted.
"Okay, can we please start remembering that we are dealing with a fourteen year old kid who has been spending the last two months expecting himself to just be a spectator of the Tournament and had therefore no reason whatsoever to read up on what the Tournament is about or what the rules are like? Honestly?" Elisa asks, sounding every bit the Malfoy daughter, and I read on, agreeing.
Mr. Ollivander … had meant.
And as I read this bit, do I feel a strong sense of dread come up within me and I whisper: "Mr. Potter, Mr. Black, Isaac, Joshua, go sit with Harry, now." And while this causes a lot of those seated around our group of slabs look at me confused, do I also realize that some of them are the kind who would turn on anyone at any given point or moment. And once I am sure that my pseudo-little brother is well protected, do I continue reading.
Ollivander explained … Lord Voldemort's.
And just this one sentence proves my suspicions right. And luckily enough do the four people I addressed instantly react. While there are several students from several tables who draw their wands with the need to curse Harry while he's still sleeping, do both of the boy's parents do the same. Yet it's Isaac and Joshua that make me feel glad that I called on them.
The two jump up with one arm raised up each, Joshua on Harry's left his right and Isaac on Harry's right his left, and thin strips of metal come out of the slits between the bricks that make up the Great Hall floors. The two instantly use both hands and arms to thicken these strips into massive bars of metal and they then start to move their arms, creating a protective wall around Harry.
This, even more so than the looks of protective needs so strong that they would be willing to kill to protect their son that radiate off of the faces of Harry's parents, makes a lot of the wands in the hands of the students who had jumped off fall out of their lax grips and then James says: "And that's just the defensive protection. Don't even try to challenge either Siri or me.
Harry is not Voldemort, no more than my partner is his mother or that Narcissa is her sister. Let that be clear here and now. Brother wands mean nothing other than that Voldemort will not be able to hurt Harry. The cores won't let him. If he tries to curse Harry and Harry tries to defend him at the same time, the wands will connect and nothing else will happen. That is the only thing that can come off of wands having brother cores."
"How – how do you know that?" Someone in Ravenclaw asks and James answers: "I know – because I took a temporary apprenticeship with Ollivander during the war. I failed his tests to become a full-fledged wand maker, but he did teach me this bit of lore, like he does with everyone who tries to apprentice under him." This awes the student in question and I read on, feeling reassured that my brother in all but blood is safe to sleep on.
Harry had … he did.
Yet then I suddenly notice that Joshua and Isaac aren't listening and that they are glaring at the cage that is protecting Harry. "What's wrong?" I ask and Joshua hisses: "We were just a second in time. Just as – just as Mr. Potter was jumping up, one of those bastards used that jump to curse Harry. The spell flew under his spread legs, but it hit our cage. It was – dark."
And just the way that the boy says this says it all to me. I frown in rage, put the book down and gently wave a hand over to where the cage is. A single vine starts to rise up and Joshua points to one of the bars in the cage. I let my vine spread and twist around it and then sense the spell. And just like with Joshua and Isaac, does my vine allow me to sense the nature of the spell.
Instantly I tighten my fist, if only to try and control my growing anger and I share a quick glance with both boys before I stand up, turn to where the spell could have come up if it came from behind James and I hiss: "This is your only warning. Either you tell me who you are, you report to your Head of House – or you let me find you. And if I do –."
But instead of threatening whoever this person was, do I just further tighten my grip. And to the shocked horror of everyone who can see it, does my vine, thin and frail as it looks, actually manage to twist itself around the iron bar so tightly, it causes dents and holes to appear in the cage. I then retreat the vine and Isaac repairs the bar before I angrily read on.
Mr. Ollivander … to go.
"Can I – speak in Harry's name – for just a minute? Seeing as how he's – asleep and all?" Neville suddenly asks, sounding timid and scared and I wince, wondering if perhaps I might have scared him with my demonstration of what I will do to whoever cast that disgusting spell. His parents nod encouragingly and he turns to Cedric and the staff.
"I know Harry. Okay, maybe not on the same level as Ron, Hermione, the twins or the Gang or Squad, but – but I do know him. And – and I know that – that if he were – awake to – to hear this – he'd be blaming himself and apologizing for the – the fact that his fame got in the way of – of the true Champions getting their glory. So – so in – in his name – I'm sorry."
But Cedric smiles and says: "This isn't Harry's fault, Neville.""But you are quite correct in the belief that Harry would believe and feel like this and it really shows that same sense of bravery that I awarded two years ago, dear boy." Dumbledore says and I happily tell my brother: "And you just proved yourself just as close as us, obviously." Making him smile as I read on.
Harry went … unrolled it.
"I'm surprised. Impressed and I can get where he's coming from, but still – surprised." Professor Lupin mutters and James sighs as he says: "I know. If that were me, I would have torn that letter from the owl, rushed after Ron and then forced it into his face, stating something like here, this came from someone who doesn't even know me as well as you do. Read it and weep it."
At this Ron winces, but then Sirius turns to him and says: "To be honest, I'm impressed with the both of you, Ron. I mean, I'm raised the Pureblood way – or at least the Pureblood way according to my precious mother's beliefs – and even I would have been quite tempted to read that damned letter, especially if I saw it came from an owl other than Hedwig."
This makes Mrs. Weasley look at the man scandalized, but then her husband snorts and says: "Don't give him that look, Molly. Did you forget? It was a love letter that you wrote that you didn't want to sent, but that your dorm mates didn't know you didn't want to send that first let me know you even had a crush on me. And they read it before sending it off. It's just what teens do.
Well, most teens. Good on you for not doing that, Ron. It proves that, even with your anger still fueling your actions, you still got a good hand on that moral compasss of yours. Eh, that is how Muggles say it, right?" He then asks my friends and me, looking bashful and we laugh as Edena nods at her father before I turn to Sirius. The man nods and I read the letter.
Harry I … can. Sirius
"Am I the only one who thinks it wrong that so many people think nothing can go wrong, just because one person is there? I mean, this whole chapter proves otherwise, right? Why are people –?" Jack asks and Eddy states: "People always look to that symbol of hope and strength when they themselves don't know what to do, Jack, you know that." And his brother nods as I say:
"That's the end of the chapter. The letter was the final bit." Everyone nods and then Sirius turns to the Granger boys. The two nod and use their powers to remove the cage from sight. But to my horror, the fright of the others and the screams coming from Mrs. Weasley and Alice, do they spot nothing but an empty floor after pulling their metal bars back into the ground.
Wait WHAT?
WHAT HAPPENED? WHERE'S HARRY? IS HE ALRIGHT? Answer YES! Yes, he is. He didn't get hit with that dark curse I mentioned earlier, but if you read the chapter closely, you'll already have the answer as to where our little Elemental might be. And while it might be wrong of me to end the chapter like that, I just felt like it.
Sorry not sorry,
