Hey everyone,
So these next few chapters are going to be quite like chapter 19 where Pomfrey checks Harry for his injuries. Except, instead of Harry, I am going to do several other students and they will be checked alongside their possessions. So expect these chapters to be mostly in the POV of either Pomfrey, Snape or even Bill the Curse-Breaker.
Let's do this,

Chapter 69
Experts At Work – Part 01

3rd ofJuly 1995
Ballroom, Beast's Castle
William's POV

"Madam Pomfrey, if you're okay with it, I'd like to be the one to check the possessions of my family and their friends." I tell the Matron after Professor McGonagall tells us that the first chapter we will read tomorrow morning will end no better than our last one did and the woman nods, yet then Professor Snape says:
"Only if you will accept a second testing by either Auror Shacklebolt or Tonks and after you let yourself be tested. You did, after all, spent time with No-Name only last week before the Third Task." At this I nod, considering the conditioning to be fair and yet the woman takes personal offense to this as she angrily shrieks:
"Why would I –?" But I don't let her and just ask: "Curse the one who will take over my family name if anything happens to me? Maybe to make sure that your Primary Heir will be everything you want your family to be like? Which is just sick, twisted and outright wrong." The woman glares at me, but I ignore her and just turn to Madam Pomfrey.
"Let's get this over with, Mr. Weasley. And you can call me Poppy. We will be working together for this matter, after all." This makes me smile at her thankfully and Riku stands up as he says: "I'll call on another corridor. Professors, if you follow me, you can then use those to gather the possessions that need to be tested."

All four Heads of House nod at this, even though most of the more likely victims are all Gryffindors, yet I feel relieved that none of them are taking this fact for granted. Yet all four of them also appoint another teacher as the one in charge of seeing their Houses moved into new rooms, so that we can all retire for the night.
"You can all use the rooms that are on both sides of the main hall down the stairs. I am sure my staff have already arranged for there to be sleeping arrangements in those rooms. Just check past the doors and then decide which room you'd like. Belle and I will retreat to our own rooms now. I wish you all a good night and fare rest."
And with that do the two hosts leave for their own rooms, the fact that these are actually on opposite sides of the castle slightly confusing me seeing how close they are and how obvious it is that they love each other with all of their beings. Yet I ignore this dilemma for now and just focus on what really needs my attention at this moment.

I follow the Heads, Riku and Madam Pomfrey out of the Ballroom and through the hallway to the courtyard in front of the castle. There Riku turns to me and says: "I'll open a portal so that the teachers can collect the trunks and objects and then I'd like to take a dive into your heart. It'll allow me to check you for spellwork."
"Like Naminé and her pod?" I ask, having already seen some great results from the girl and her work on both Sirius and Harry and the silver-haired Keyblade Master nods to which I shrug and say: "Sure, that sounds great. Thanks." Riku nods and then focuses on the center of the courtyard, where his raised hand conjures a portal.
"We'll be right back." Professor Flitwick says and the three of us nod at them before Riku turns to me and says: "Now, please know what, while I am diving into your heart, you will be asleep. Also please know that I will only dive to see if you are cursed, not to clean you of them. I will leave that to Madam Pomfrey over here."

I nod at him again and then sit down, leaning against the door leading back inside. Riku summons his Keyblade and looks me in the eye one last time. I nod at him and he nods back. And all I remember after this is the tip of his Keyblade lighting up and a beam of light shooting at me. Yet after that all turns black as I fall asleep.
And when I wake up, I hardly feel any different, only feel as if there is a force in my heart that has been awaken or something. I look at Riku and he says: "You're lucky. There was only one spell on you and it was simply meant to increase your trust and respect for your parents. It just didn't have any clear definition on that.
Because of this, your trust in Madam Bones will probably be just as strong as everyone's trust was in No-Name. I didn't feel like removing it or have Poppy remove it, so I just made sure it was changed enough that it now does have a clear definition, though I also made sure it has a bit of a link to your own common sense."
I nod at him, understanding where he's coming from, yet I can also tell that there is something he's not telling me. He then turns to the portal and I see that McGonagall and the others are back. And they have quite a few trunks standing besides them, which makes me know I will have quite a bit of work ahead of me.

I stand up, dust myself off and move over as I say: "Let's just deal with the Boggart in the wardrobe first. Ron's trunk. He was always the closest to Dumbledore and No-Name's target and so far, she has really proven to care nothing for him. There is no doubt in my mind he will have the most curses and whatnot on his stuff."
"There is just one problem, Mr. Weasley. I already believed the same and decided to check those sweaters that were mentioned. There was nothing on them." This confuses me and I turn to the trunk I know belongs to my youngest brother. It's already open and the sweaters that was mentioned in the book lies on top.
I frown at it and take a small, magnifier loop glass out of my pocket, putting it in front of my left eye as I look at the sweater. Yet just like Professor Flitwick tells me, do I not see anything, even when I use the magnifying ability to go down to each fiber of the stitching. This makes me take the glass off my eye and frown in confusion.

"Take it out." Riku states and I look at him as he says: "Take it out of the trunk. Take everything out and then check the inside of the trunk." And instantly I get where he's coming from. I glare at the trunk and use my wand to do as he says. All of my brother's possessions fly out of the trunk and land neatly a few feet away.
I then put the glass back in front of my eye and bend my body over the inside of the trunk. And even without activating the ability again, do I easily spot it. A spell that is practically all over the trunk seems to be streaming through the fibers of the soft material that is stitched into the inside. I glare at this and whisper a spell.
"Revelio." And around the edge of the glass lettering appears that writes Camouflage spell. Meant to hide any kind of spellwork cast by either Albus Dumbledore or Molly – No-Name - on anything put inside the trunk of one Ronald – Bones – and keep it hidden whether the object is inside or taken out of the trunk. Cast in 1991.

I frown and growl as I say: "A camouflage spell. It makes it so that, even now that the stuff is out of the trunk, the spellwork is still hidden. We will have to take that spell out first if we want to know what spellwork is cast upon this stuff.""Now that is just so genius it should be illegal." Professor Flitwick growls in anger.
I sigh and turn to the other trunks as I say: "Professor Flitwick, if you and I work on the trunks, then Professor Snape and McGonagall can work on the possessions. Oh, and here are my magnifying glasses, they will allow you to spot and identify spellwork." And I hand everyone a magnifying glass from my pocket.
The three of them gratefully take the small golden objects and then Poppy says: "I'll go check up on your siblings, Mr. Weasley. Pomona, would you like to help me?" This intrigues me and the stubby woman happily tells me: "I've been trying to get Albus to let me help Poppy in the Wing for years. I have the same credentials as she does."
And because I remember what it was like when autumn caused everyone to get sick and because I know what a kind-hearted and easily accepting woman Professor Sprout is, do I think: "Dumbledore really just loves to hex himself in the foot when it comes to doing what is right for Hogwarts." As I watch the two of them leave.
I then turn to the trunks and see that Professor Flitwick has already cleared them of all possessions. I turn to the possessions and Professor McGonagall says: "No worries, Mr. Weasley, we will handle these possessions with respect for you and your siblings." Professor Snape nods to prove this and I nod back before I get to work myself.

At the same time
Inside the castle
Pomona's POV

"To enchant a trunk just to make sure that the stuff inside won't be able to be checked for spells that aren't supposed to be on it. That No-Name actually did this. It really proves how far these two were willing to go just to get their goals reached. But does it also prove how ambitious they are or that they actually knew they were in the wrong?"
I think, yet then I shake my head and think: "No Pomona, remember. This is the man that told you not to report to parents that their kids might be in danger, that had you help him set up sub-par protections for a valuable and dangerous object, that led a single teenager into several deadly situations. And No-Name just kept helping him."

I sigh, knowing that I have been raised to always believe the best in people and that Dumbledore had been used as an example of why someone should want to believe that as he always believed that others deserved a second chance. Because of this do I know that, even when we reach the Seventh book, I will probably still fight this belief.
Yet for the sake of my students and the betterment of Hogwarts, do I know that I need to. I just know that, if I show any kind of weakness in front of either No-Name or anyone associated with either her or Dumbledore, it will be something they will happily exploit to get their plans back on track. And this thought scares me.
I shake my head and follow Poppy as she checks the doorways leading to various rooms around the hallway. And when we find the one that has the Gryffindors in it, does she lead me over to where all of the Weasleys are gathered, together with Mss. Granger, Mr. Potter as well as his family, Mss. Crenson and Mss. Lekerson.

"How did it go?" Mss. Granger asks as she is the first to spot us and I answer: "There were spells found in the fabric of your trunks. They were meant to mask the spellwork that those two probably put on all of the other things that they gave or supplied you with. William is checking the trunks and Minerva the possessions."
"So we could be wearing something that is cursed and not even know it?" Ronald asks, shocked and frightened with just the prospect before I say: "You could. However, once your trunks have been cleansed, these magnifying glasses should allow us to check the clothes you are currently wearing. We will do so tomorrow."

The Weasleys nod, their faces proving they feel relieved and then suddenly another platform on wheels rides in and the candelabra who is on top happily says: "If you want, madams and messieurs, our resident wardrobe would be more than happy to provide you all with proper evening wear for the night. So you can sleep risk free."
And all of us smile at the candelabra, who then turns to the room at large and says: "Of course, this counts for anyone who has associated or considers themselves close enough to House Weasley to believe that they could have become a target for the evil No-Name and her companion. Our wardrobe guarantees it."
To this quite a few faces, who I know have been friends or worked together with either the Weasley twins or young Ginerva over the last few years, look relieved and I say: "Very well, all those who believe themselves potentially exposed to this threat, form a line from eldest to youngest and follow Mr. Lumiere."
And about an hour later is everyone back in the room, now wearing simple white gowns that have a red trim at the neckline and the bottom and do the boys also have a pair of sleeping pants with the same trimmings. There are also sleeping bags all over the room and everyone is in them, their sleeping faces proving their ease of heart.

Good night everyone,
So I decided to leave the whole testing for the next day. This has two reasons. One I kind of wanted to focus on the whole thing with the trunk as I felt that would provide an extra challenge to those who just want what's best for the school. Why did I want that? Because that's how, in my eyes, an antagonist or villain thinks.
The other reason is because I didn't want to put all of the medical stuff in one chapter. I wanted to be able to stretch this out a bit, because stories that only have the characters reading and nothing else just bore me. Also, I had to have everyone asleep for a little extra plotline that I had in mind to be set into motion.
Next chapter: Defenses are tested and a surprise revelation puts Harry into a new sense of adventure. It proves once and for all that, even if Dumbledore is locked up and his secrets are revealed, some people just don't care and will continue to support him. But why would anyone want that? What's their motivation for this?
Let's find out,

Venquine1990
PS. Sorry this chapter is so short, I'll try to make the next one longer. The adventure should ensure this.
