Author's Note: I do not own the Justice League. Thank you for your patience; I hope you enjoy this newest chapter, I had fun writing a certain character in it-you'll see which one. And I hope that the next DC movies released are at least in the top ten of best DC live action slash animated movies.
Freedom? Such a silly word.
Call it what you want, but there are people who care about me and I want to see them again. That stupid potato alien trapped me in here.
That ended the conversation and Martian Manhunter's telepathy made its way into Black Canary's mind. They stared, she nodded, and then before Kelsey had time to wonder what their conversation was about...she grabbed his hand and pulled him away.
"You don't want me to join in this fight or something?" he asked.
"Justice League members always put citizen lives over fighting some maniac, and you are a civilian. Ergo, I'm taking you back to the ship." She said.
Kelsey was shocked as he muttered, "I just wanted to help."
The way she looked at him made him gulp but she was just putting up a facade so he wouldn't try to speak to her, she needed him back on the ship pronto.
He let out a drawn out sigh as he reluctantly chose to leave, leaving Canary with the alien.
"Anything else the alien is telling you?" She asked J'ohn.
He stared at her with that intense look with eyes that had no eyebrows just red sclera's with yellow eyes.
"Although born a massive alien being, he is only three years old. He keeps telling me memories of his aforementioned parents...all good. They seem to nurture him as if he is their own son but they foolishly leaked out information of their whereabouts that brought this being that calls himself The Preserver to their homeworld where he adducted this young boy."
"The Preserver..." Canary muttered under her breath, before asking, "Who is this Preserver?"
"An alien of a far off world who made it his life mission to collect alien species on the verge of extinction. He is not to be underestimated."
Indeed, Canary and her allies needed to be very prepared if dealing with him.

Kelsey couldn't believe his luck; he made it to the hangar without so much as a glance from any of the other aliens confined in their cells, however, it was when he saw the ship perfectly still that he realized he wasn't alone. First it was at his feet he saw a long shadow, and then that shadow levitated until the potato-esque Preserver was looking at him.
"You cannot escape from me. You are much too precious of a lifeform. As for your human host...I can shred his skin and feed what's left to those others I care for."
The yellow potato started to morph. He became large, had two large brawny arms the size of elephants, yellow sclera flaring eyes with four sharp teeth, and he had a long black stripe etching behind his forehead. He looked at Kelsey, growled. Having remembered everything he had been put through, Kelsey's bravery began to show as he stared him down.
The giant monster delivered a fast, strong blow with his right fist. Just one punch could fracture Kelsey's bones, but he evaded it using two solidified blood crimson javelins that extended from his armpits to push himself away, and he didn't even know how he did it.
These new abilities had taken him by surprise at first, but it looked like they would be of some much needed help for him. The bulky alien swung his cocked right arm at him, he did a Matrix omage and bent down right before his fist could shatter his face.
All the time Kelsey was dodging a fast fist heading towards him, he was urging himself to change into a bigger, more monstrous form.
He grit his teeth, hoping that it could possibly happen. But life was cruel and after two weak, ineffective punches to the Preserver's face he was grabbed and held off the ground.
Luckily, just as the Preserver was ready to do him in, Kelsey felt his body slowly change. His arms started to grow big and red, his eyes were burning as they oscillated into a blood red color, and from his back he sprouted blood red wings. He used his newfound tail with a spike sprouting out to whiplash at the Preserver.
It was blindsided by Kelsey's attacks, and even more so thanks to the tail whip he gave it. Kelsey's flurry was great but his power was weak.
In fact, he wasn't so sure if he would tackle the Preserver on his own.
But he was also slow being caught like an ant in two cusped hands before the Preserver started crushing him with his strength.
Just when he thought he was going to pass out or have his spine crushed, a long pair of ant mandibles emerged from his mouth created in blood.
He could've prodded them into his eyes, but any plans he had with them were interrupted by the Preserver being hurtled towards a wall along with him.
Kelsey's eyes flitted behind him, saw a motorcycle looking man with a pompadour and tweed jacket.
He was chugging down a bottle of vermouth. When he finished, he spoke in a brutish tone with lots of rudities.
"Are you F*** kidding me? You go through a transcendental F*** awakening and you cannot even defeat a D-list pudgy alien being who has no F*** security. What a poor choice of power being given we F*** made."
"Do I know you? Because you look kind of familiar." Kelsey asked.
He let out the most absurd laugh of anyone he's heard before. When he settled down, he hurled his vermouth bottle at him. Without even thinking about the hurtling bottle, his tail lashed out and shattered the bottle into glass shards. He was sloshed with the most strong, potent alcoholic smell he's ever had the luxury of not smelling.
Because of this, it didn't take long for him to feel somewhat nauseous. And as his nose was burning from the smell, the vandal appeared so fast in front of him it looked like he teleported before he slugged him in the face. Kelsey fell, a trickle of blood streaming out before mysteriously going back inside.
"Your as useless as a rake without any metal. You need to be more like a sword coated in salt and shit." Whatever point he was trying to make came out as emptyheaded babble. "Your not letting what's inside come out, ya dumbass."
Before Kelsey could question his ranting, his body started to morph...a big bulge of a red balloon-esque lump came out before his body started to vibrate. First his fingers turned into claws, followed by his regular teeth turning into fangs, his rear end growing out a tail, and his eyes becoming more wild as they flared with rage.
He went from a cussing drunkard to a blood furred tiger in the course of a few seconds.
Kelsey didn't have time to question how he managed to do that, he was already leaping at him crying to slash his claws through his skin.
Kelsey flinched from this and was slashed through the arm by the claws. This was followed up by the tiger standing on its paws, bipedal, and slugging him in the face with his right paw. The pain on his face contrasted with the simultaneous confusion due to the ridiculousness of the situation.
But while soldiering through the sting of the pain, something in him started to curdle. He reacted throwing a punch at the red tiger and two big wings came out and created a strong gale throwing the tiger off the ground and to one of the Preservers air-crafts.
The tiger landed on its feet, and wasted no time dashing towards Kelsey. Kelsey flinched. He was still too timid even with the giant wings protruding from his back. Fortunately, the tiger was sucked into the ground by two green hands. This caused Kelsey to wonder as to who was attacking the tiger.
It turned out to be Martian Manhunter. He was pinning him to the ground before Black Canary—sauntering with her hands on her black jacket—walked up and then screamed her high-pitch metahuman vocals in his face.
Her screaming didn't make him flinch. Normal human ears would rupture internally from her screech, but he had the unexpected ability to sink his ears inside making him immune from her scream.
He slugged her in the stomach with a precise claw thrust.
Canary grit her teeth as she took the hit, clutching the area with one hand.
Now he was going to wait until the green skin martian rushed in, throttling anyone in his way, to save his friend so he could do the same thing to him.
"Stop fighting!" Kelsey yelled.
His words prompted them to stop what they were doing, turning their attention to him.
He stood and stood and stood. A part of him wanted to get in there and fight back against the violent shapeshifting drunkard—three words he never thought would be used in one sentence—but he also didn't want to become a hero; they could never be pacifists.
"Why did you stop us for?" Canary asked. "You can't just tell us to stop and then just stand there."
Canary wasn't the only one enraged by this. The tiger moved towards him, morphing back into his human form, and roared in his face:
"Are you shitting me?! You had us dishing out blood, and now you want us to stop?!" he asked.
Before Kelsey could say anything to him, Black Canary tapped him on the shoulder.
"I-have-something-to-say-to-you." She smiled.
He flinched but didn't deter to looking at her, he also didn't have time to hide his ears before she screamed with ten times the decibel's of a lions' roar.
He hit a wall nearby, and that was enough to almost knock him out.
Kelsey yearned to be a fighter like Black Canary, but who was he to complain about her knocking the wind out of him?
"Don't ever interfere again." she also told him.
Martian Manhunter appeared standing stolidly while deviating from Kelsey to the unconscious body of the foul mouthed shapeshifter.
"We need to take him back to the Watchtower. Someone like him in a place like this could infect every sentient life in it."
Black Canary, the strongest physically out of the trio, leaned down to pick him up. However, his whole body disintegrated into droplets of blood and vacuumed somewhere else the moment she tried to lay a hand on him.
Although he was crude and violent, Kelsey never got to thank him for saving him from that dangerous alien the Preserver.
"I assume he's either escaped, or he's dead." Canary muttered to herself.
"Either way, our objective was to get Kelsey out of here. If I may ask of you, Mr. Gilpin, please come with us." Martian Manhunter said while extending his hand.
Kelsey touched the alien's hand before; although that wouldn't be the case if that bigger alien wrangled his arms around his neck. He and Black Canary held one hand from his arms before all three phased through the ground.
' Gilpin? How'd they know my full name?'

The man in the sanctum went through a linear path—a sort of hole with a faucet of water gushing out he theoretically leaped through—into the giant red claws of a celestial with purple skin.
He stood on his feet, scratching his head like a termite biting through wood.
"Bloody hell, I need a Bloody Mary for this hangover," he said.
He heard the being grumble, which brought his attention.
"Alright, alright...I'll just have tomato juice. Just get on with what you want to say so I can sate something of the rest of this day."
The being raised his right arm over his left shoulder. A pink wormhole materialized in the blank space, and inside it there was a long snake wrapped around a big black tortoise.
The man took notice at the wormhole, as well as the tortoise and snake inside.
He knew who they were.
"Jayme, Akie, quit that weird couple spooning and look me in the eye...smell my breath if you have to, I drank five bottles today."
