Here is the next chapter. Please read and review it and we'll see where it goes. Love Moon xxx

The next day Vernon and Petunia had taken out an old file with plastic pockets inside it and were looking through the documents inside it. "You see Petunia it is as I said. Straight A's always. Let's see yours sweetheart?" he asked as she opened the file pertaining to her own study results. Her records contained all B's and no A's. Still B grades were pretty damn good. Dudley's results seemed to make less and less sense.

"To be honest Vernon I always just signed his reports quickly because he would choose to ask me to sign them when I was on the phone and obviously preoccupied. It is for this reason that I never truly paid them attention. Like your grandfather mine couldn't afford to go to school for the entire required time but he did get C grades and was always happy with himself. To be honest I am very proud of him given how little his family had. I can see Dudley didn't inherit his bad grades thank goodness now however we need to work on improving them. I will ensure he reads those chapters to me as well. I can claim I am not aware he is reading them to you if he notices. From now on I'm afraid there will be no out of house treats for Dudley. I mean obviously he can still have his sweets and things but no new games or toys until he approves. I will not have a stupid son Vernon I couldn't handle the shame or scandal of all the neighbours talking behind my back about him because of it!" she said crying suddenly as his heart broke to see her so sad.

Outside the closed door Harry had been listening in while Dudley was busy gaming upstairs and had found their conversation interesting to say the least. So they'd thought he'd possibly inherited his stupidity had they? He could see why though. He went back to his room which was only ever locked when they went out not that it mattered much to him. They got their summer holidays today and were happy to be out of school now. This meant more time he could spend reading those extra books he'd gotten himself at the alley the other day. He'd gotten books for muggleborn students on fitting in with their society in a way which didn't stand out. He'd also bought some law books too. He wanted to understand their laws before entering their world. So far he'd read about floo travelling and quidditch. He was very interested in the floo network as it seemed a cool way to get around. When he'd gone yesterday to get his trunk he'd realised he could get an apartment trunk with an attached floo in it and had done so. He'd also gotten his ordinary trunk for school.

He had discovered at the bank he could protect or ward his trunk from intruders using his blood so he had done it straight away. He didn't like using his blood like that at all but when he'd learned it might stop someone stealing from him he relented and did it. If someone attempted to steal from his trunk it would bite them. Something which he had found most amusing as he could picture Dudley being chased around by a trunk which bit him continuously which he knew of course wouldn't be happening. He'd actually bought the apartment trunk not to live in but to store his things inside of during the summer such as foods and things that would otherwise go off. He'd hide his food there and eat it as and when he needed however the apartment already came fitted with groceries of all types as standard. Also now that he knew more about floo powder and floos in general he could assign his own apartment floo a name which automatically registered once he'd done it. He called his apartment Pottery Barn for fun. He'd seen the name on tele once when Vernon had forced him to watch it. It was some kind of shop in America selling all kinds of useless things Vernon no doubt thought he needed in his drunken stupor. Vernon didn't drink all the time in fact he rarely did drink it's just that when he did every couple of months it would be a bender and he'd buy loads of junk he didn't need whilst lecturing Harry on all that was wrong with the world and how to do certain things safely. Things he'd never have taught him whilst sober. Harry learned so much from these moments that he was secretly grateful for the chance to learn new things. At least Vernon could now say he was doing it less.

He had already decided to use his apartment floo to get out in the summertime whenever he needed to. He figured he could eat out in Diagon Alley should he ever want to and it was comforting to know he had choices. Deciding to use the floo now as a test he entered his apartment and looked around in awe. Magic truly was amazing. There was a bedroom which was large in size, a bathroom with a huge bath in it and a kitchen diner. There was even a small living room come study which housed the floo. Making sure he wasn't needed he flooed out to Diagon Alley steadying himself on arrival as he almost fell over and approached the potions store. He was always and ever thinking ahead to the future. One couldn't afford not to and besides which if Vernon had actually taught him anything when he'd been kitting out his car for emergencies it had been that you never can be too sure. He entered the store and picked up two storage boxes. One was slightly larger than the other.

He filled it with nutrient potions, bone regrowth potions, Essence of Dittany, Truth Serum, Liquid Luck, Pepper up potion and lastly plenty of Bezoars. He'd read all about potions and knew he would need these. He would bring the larger one with him to school and the smaller one which he filled with more bone regrowth potions, nutrient and Pepper up potions would remain in his apartment trunk at home. He was currently reading up on how to protect his trunk when he wasn't there so once he knew how to do that he would be fine. The shop owner was stunned as Harry had dropped two thousand galleons causally on the counter for his things. They had cost that much naturally but people didn't usually do that kind of thing least of all children. He was going to refuse to sell him that stuff but a wandless imperious curse saw to it that he just sold the items and went on about his day as normal.

Harry was on the way to the leaky cauldron when he spotted something he'd not even been looking for. There across the way was an opticians or what looked like one. He entered the shop with a ding sound as he shut the door behind him balancing both boxes on one arm. The shopkeeper came out and smiled at him.

"I am Dylis Wentworth. How may we be of service to you today?" she asked as he smiled at her.

"Yes hello. I wear glasses as you can see but I wondered if there was a potion or treatment you could give me so I no longer need them?" he asked as she smiled at him.

"Indeed we have but it is pricey which not many people can afford I am afraid. It is two hundred and fifty galleons for the potion. You would need to have enough time to take it however as you need a whole hour to recover from it and I wouldn't want your parents to miss you young man!" she scolded lightly still not knowing who he was over the stage make up.

"Thank you for your concern but my parents gave me permission to be out for the day so I do indeed have the time!" he said as she smiled. He was taken into a back room and was placed sitting in a chair which resembled one you might find in a dental practice. His chair was moved so he was leaning back and his glasses were removed. He shrieked in surprise as without warning two bottles of potion were dumped into each eye. His eyes watered a lot and stung. He could see absolutely nothing. It hurt so much he thought he'd be left blind when everything slowly but surely went black for him. He was terrified as now he could see nothing at all. He didn't voice his fears though and forced himself to relax so it could work. It didn't make logical sense but he assumed it was supposed to do this to his eyes. He was of course right. He was fed a potion slowly which made him sleep for one hour by which point it was done. He didn't even remember falling asleep but no sooner was it done then he was being woken up again. He was indeed very groggy and needed to rinse his eyes out with plenty of water something he was told was normal.

When he was properly awake he felt extremely well rested more so then he normally did. When he opened his eyes though properly it was like he was seeing and truly seeing every colour for the first time in his life. He was in awe of it all. He watched the dust particles floating around in the air in complete awe. He composed himself and paid the money leaving and heading home. As it so happened he'd not been missed. When he got home he was called downstairs where he was given a chore list for the next day. If anyone noticed his lack of glasses they certainly didn't say it to him. Vernon always shared nuggets of useful information when drunk with Harry the likes of which he should probably have been telling Dudley whilst sober but every cloud eh. Harry had learned about bills, taxes and why they exist. He had learned the importance of preparing for an emergency. Vernon had even given him candles, a lighter and a torch with batteries in case their power should ever accidentally go out. Harry didn't have any extraordinary powers or anything like that he was just exceptionally smart and observant. He only had his mindscape and wandless abilities after years of training himself in them. It had been very hard but he'd persevered these last three years so much so that he could cast many things wandlessly. In fact he could cast many spells from his first year's charms book wandlessly already.

For his wandless magic to work however he didn't need the name of the spell. He only needed to know what it was supposed to do in order to practice and perfect it. Obviously when he learned via wand he'd need to know the name of it and had no problem with that. So far he could cast lumos, accio, repairo and relashio wandlessly. He could of course cast the imperious curse and alohamora wandlessly too not that he knew it was called that. When he happened upon the imperious curse in a book he'd bought on dark arts and realised what he'd been doing he was stunned and not in a good way. He'd only done it mainly to get answers to questions he'd needed. He had stolen from the bank which was wrong but he'd given the philosophers stone to Tom the barman to redesign his pub something he was actually taking very seriously. So far he'd added new windows and a fresh coat of nice teal paint inside. Next week he was getting new lighting and then in another few weeks new tables and chairs. He'd be deep cleaning the floors too. Just a light sprucing up which most who had seen the changes so far loved. Eventually he'd place new beds in his rooms but for now the bar was his main concern.

Harry was so into reading however that he often lost track of time. He vowed from now on only to use the imperious curse in extreme situations when he needed answers and wasn't being given them. As he figured that would rarely happen to him he saw nothing wrong with using it once in a while for that purpose only. He could accept using it when he knew something was being kept from him or he was being lied to but other then that he couldn't truly accept using it. He now had a clock and working batteries in his room. He'd read for four hours straight and was starving. He cooked himself some dinner in his apartment using the food it already came stocked with. He made himself some carbonara a favourite of Petunias which tasted delicious and tucked in. One could say he'd been lucky that Vernon bulk bought random items whilst drunk as it had given him a bed and bedside locker but most of the things Vernon did end up buying which did end up in the attic with Harry were useless garden tools and the like things which never interested Harry one bit. That night as he fell into bed with a smile on his face he was determined that he will have read every single course book in its entirety before going to school and he was so smart that it was inevitable he'd do it too.
